Abstract

A gearbox assembly for use with a surgical instrument includes a drive gear configured to receive a rotational input, a first output gear configured to receive a rotational input from the drive gear, and a second output gear configured to receive a rotational input from the first output gear. The first output gear includes a first lead screw coupled to the first output gear such that the rotational input received by the first output gear rotates the first lead screw, and thereby translates a first nut threadingly engaged about the first lead screw along the first lead screw. The second output gear includes a second lead screw coupled to the second output gear such that the rotational input received by the second output gear rotates the second lead screw, and thereby translates a second nut threadingly engaged about the second lead screw along the second lead screw.
