Abstract
Description
[0001] Title: Content management system and method therefor
[0002] TECHNICAL FIELD
[0003] The various aspects and embodiments thereof relate to generation of content, for example text-based or audio-visual, for particular characters, based on trends of content provided by electronic publishing platforms.
[0004] BACKGROUND
[0005] Whereas social media platforms were firstly set up to enable people to interact with people they knew in real life (or away from keyboard), this has moved as people interact with firstly unknown people. Such interaction may be exchanging communication or just following another person. By following a person, another person, the follower, is offered content provided by the person. As this progressed, certain people - so-called influencers - gained status and influence and are in that capacity being used by brand to market products and services connected to the brand.
[0006] SUMMARY
[0007] An issue with real life people is that people make mistakes and such mistakes of an influencer may taint an image of a brand. To address this issue, virtual influencers are being used. It is preferred to improve the process of using virtual influencers.
[0008] A first aspect provides an electronic content management system for generation and publication of media content items. The content management system comprises an electronic input module arranged to receive event data comprising attribute data, an electronic storage module arranged to store content objects having an attribute item associated with them, the attribute item having an attribute value and an attribute kind, an electronic processing unit arranged to find, based on the attribute data, at least one content object having an attribute kind matching the attribute data and an electronic content generator module arranged to obtain the found content object and to generate a media content item based on the found content item.
[0009] This system allows for automated selection of a particular (virtual) influencer, based on a particular event. Such event may be a single event, like a sports event. Additionally or alternatively, such event may be a particular trend, for example on social media, indicating rising - and possible also declining - popularity of a particular topic or person. Subsequently, with a matching influencer, media content may be generated related to the event. Such media content may include a selected brand or a reference thereto. It may also include the influencer or a reference thereto.
[0010] An example of the first aspect further comprises an output module arranged to send, via a first electronic data connection, the media content item to a social media server for publication of the media content item. This example is arranged to automatically upload media items generated to a social media platform - or another electronic media outlet.
[0011] In another example, the input module is arranged to receive, via a second electronic data connection, feedback data from the social media server, which feedback data is based on interaction of users with the social media server in relation to the media content item. By receiving feedback on a media content item, the system may evaluate effectiveness of the media content item generated.
[0012] In a further example, the processing unit is arranged to, in the electronic storage module, modify the attribute value of the content object. An attribute value may provide an indication of a relation between a virtual influencer and a particular brand. Such value may be changed, depending on feedback on the media content item. The feedback itself be constituted in different ways and also profiles of followers that provide feedback may constitute feedback. In again another example, the electronic content generator module is arranged to generate the media content item based on generator parameters comprised by the electronic content generator module, the generator parameters each having at least one value; and the electronic processing unit is arranged to modify a value of at least one generator value, based on the feedback data. By taking into account feedback and particular values of particular when generating media content items and in particular new media content items, media content items may be created that may be higher appreciated by followers.
[0013] In yet a further example, the electronic processing unit is further arranged to receive, via the second electronic data connection, post data related to electronic media items published by the social media server, and generate the event data based on the post data. Post data may be one or more posts on a social media platform, generated by any entity. From the one or more posts and data related thereto - like feedback on the post by followers -, events may be detected. A post receiving a lot of feedback and positive feedback in particular may be considered to constitute an event or to be related to an event. Additionally or alternatively, a group of posts may be considered as an event, in particular with posts that relate to the same topic - like a sports event - and receive a significant amount of feedback within a relatively short time frame, may be considered to constitute an event.
[0014] In yet another example, the post data comprises catchwords and the processing unit is further arranged to determine a trend of catchwords in the electronic media items published by the social media server; and the event data is based on the determined trend. Certain social media platforms allow users to identify catchwords in content items they post. Such catchwords may be preceded by a hash (#) sign, forming a hashtag, with the catchword and the hash sign. Other platforms or services allow catchwords to be identified in other ways. In again a further example, the processing unit is arranged to find multiple content objects having an attribute kind that matches the attribute data; and the content generator module is arranged to obtain the content object having an attribute value that matches a pre-determined criterion. This example allows for generation of media content items that relate to an event detected. In this way, improved content with a proper relation with the event may be created. For example, if an attribute is defined as 'sports', a content object related to sports may be used for generation of the media content item. Such content object may be more appropriate than another content object related to a lazy Sunday afternoon - except, in certain cases, if such content object may relates to watching sports on such lazy Sunday afternoon.
[0015] In another example, the content generator module comprises a generative artificial intelligence and the content generator module is arranged to generate the media content item based on a prompt based on at least one of the event and the attribute kind and any other data deemed relevant by the system. Generative artificial intelligence systems, like the currently available Sora and Midjourney, are able to provide content items based on specific descriptions of desired content items (the descriptions being referred to as prompts). In this way, such systems may be used for generation of the content media items.
[0016] In a further example, the input module is arranged to receive event data further comprising group data, the storage module is arranged to store content objects further having a group item associated with them; and the processing unit is arranged, based on the group data, to find the at least one content item having a group item associated with it, which group item matches the group data. Certain advertising entities may want to provide advertisements for multiple brands. Generally, every brand has a different - very different or slightly different - appeal, atmosphere, look and feel or other characteristics related to it. This means that particular influencers, having a particular reputation with particular attributes, may not be used for providing content media items for each applicable brand. In for example such scenario, influencers and / or content objects may be grouped. The grouping may be constituted by adding a group attribute to characters, by defining a list per group or for all groups which one or more lists provide one or more relations between characters and brands - or differently defined groups.
[0017] In yet another example, the content objects comprise electronic data representing an avatar. An avatar may be a graphical representation of a character, which may emphasise particular characteristics of the applicable character.
[0018] A second aspect provides a method for generation and publication of electronic media content items, for execution in an electronic content management system for generation and publication of media content items. The method comprises receiving an electronically coded signal comprising event data comprising attribute data, storing, in an electronic memory, content objects having an attribute item associated with them, the attribute item having an attribute value and an attribute kind, finding, by means of an electronic processing unit, based on the attribute data, at least one content object having an attribute kind matching the attribute data and obtaining, by means of an electronic content generator module, the found content object and generating, by means of an electronic content generator module, a media content item based on the found content item.
[0019] A third aspect provides a computer programme product instructions executable by an electronic computer system, causing the electronic computer system, when executing the instructions, to execute the method of the second aspect. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0020] The various aspects and examples thereof will now be discussed in conjunction with various drawings. In the drawings:
[0021] Figure 1: shows a content publication system; and
[0022] Figure 2: shows a flowchart.
[0023] DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0024] Figure 1 shows a content publication system 100 as a content management system according to the first aspect. The content publication system 100 shows a content generation server 110, a social media platform server 150 as a content publication server, mobile telephone 180 as a personal computing device and a network 190. The network 190 is in this example a hybrid network, wired and wireless. The network 190 is in this example a compound network, comprising one or more cellular networks, optical fibre networks, routers, switches other components or a combination of two or more thereof.
[0025] The content generation server 110 comprises a content processing unit 112, a content storage module 114, a character storage module 116 and a generator communication module 118. The content processing unit 112 comprises a trend analyser subunit 122, a character manager subunit 124, a content generator subunit 126 and a score evaluation subunit 128. The content processing unit 112 is arranged to control the various parts of the content generation server 110 and the operation thereof, in addition to functionality discussed below. The various parts of the content processing unit 112 may be hardwired, soft-wired, programmed by means of software, provided otherwise or a combination of two or more thereof.
[0026] The content storage module 114 is arranged to store content items. Such content items are preferably media files, comprising as least one of text, still images and moving pictures video (video or videoclip for short). In this example, the content storage module 114 stores a first media file 132, a second media file 134, a third media file 136 and a fourth media file
[0027] 138.
[0028] The character storage module 116 is arranged to store character items and messages related to the characters. Such characters may be a person like a real person or a virtual person, an object, anything else or a combination of two or more thereof. Such message may comprise media items based on media files stored by the content storage module 114. In this example, the character storage module 116 is arranged to store a first character record 140, a second character record 140' and a third character record 140".
[0029] The first character record 140 comprises an electronic avatar representation 142, providing a representation of an avatar. The avatar may be a representation of a person like a real person or a virtual person, of an object, of anything else or a combination of two or more thereof. As such, the avatar may be a representation of the character. In examples discussed below, the avatar represents a person.
[0030] The first character record 140 further comprises a first character attribute field 144 and a second character attribute field 146. The first character attribute field 144 and the second character attribute field 146 each have a value associated therewith. Preferably, the associated values are numerical values that may vary between an minimum value and a maximum value, i.e. the associated values are normalised. Additionally or alternatively, one or more of the attribute values may have an alphanumerical value, such as a string of text.
[0031] The attributes provide an classification of the person the avatar represents. The first attribute may be 'luxury', 'fun', 'relaxed', 'sporty', 'geeky', 'tech savvy', 'masculine', 'romantic' and represented by means of a numerical value to which extent the classification is applicable to the person represented by the related avatar. The second attribute may be a brand, such as 'Desperados', 'Tiger', 'Affligem', 'Moretti', 'Brand' or 'Heineken'. More attributes may be added to provide more detailed information about the person represented by the avatar and an appeal they are intended to have to specific audiences.
[0032] The content storage module 114 and the character storage module 116 may be implemented on different and distinct hardware devices. Alternatively, the content storage module 114 and the character storage module 116 may be implemented on one and the same hardware module. Such hardware module or hardware modules may be electronic circuits like non-volatile semiconductor memories, magnetic harddisk drives, optical storage, other or a combination of two or more thereof. Such memory may also be arranged to store computer executable data arranged to program the content processing unit 112 to execute functionality discussed here.
[0033] The generator communication module 118 is arranged to provide communication between the content generation server 110 on one hand and the social media platform server 150 and the mobile telephone 180 on another hand. Such communication may be messages related to the person represented by the avatar, hereafter also referred to as 'the person'.
[0034] The social media platform server 150 is arranged to host a social medial platform, that is arranged to receive and publish messages submitted thereto, which messages are also known as 'posts'. The social media platform server 150 comprises a media processing unit 152, a media storage module 154 and a media communication module 156. The media processing unit 152 comprises in this example a content processing subunit 162 and a feedback processing subunit 164.
[0035] The content processing subunit 162 is arranged to process multimedia content comprised by posts submitted to the social media platform 150. The feedback processing subunit 164 processes feedback provided to the social media platform 150 in response to messages - posts - submitted to the social media platform 150. The media processing unit 152 is arranged to control the various parts of the social media platform server 150 and the operation thereof, in addition to functionality discussed below. The various parts of the media processing unit 152 may be hardwired, soft- wired, programmed by means of software, provided otherwise or a combination of two or more thereof.
[0036] The media storage module 154 is arranged to store messages sent to and published by the social medial platform. In this example, the media storage module 154 is arranged to host a first account dataset 170 and second account dataset 170'. The first account dataset 170 comprises a first post 172 and a second post 172'. The first post comprises post data 174, a first feedback 176’ and a second feedback 176".
[0037] The post data 172 may comprise text, a still image, a videoclip, an image representing the avatar of the person deemed submitter of the post, other, or a combination of two or more thereof. The first feedback 176 may be digital or discrete value, like a 'like', a 'dislike', a 'love', a 'support', a ’laugh’ or similar messages that has been predefined. The second feedback 176’ may be any form of media , like text, a still image, a videoclip, other or a combination of two or more thereof. Further feedback may be indications of reposts of the original content, links to the original content, other content related to the original posts or a combination of two or more thereof. Feedback may be provided by followers of the character. Additionally or alternatively, feedback may comprise action taken by a supervisory body, either governmental, initiated by a manager of the social media platform 150, a creator of content, another party or a combination of two or more thereof.
[0038] Additionally, the media storage module 154 may comprise executable data arranged to program the media processing unit 152 to execute functionality discussed here.
[0039] The mobile telephone 180 comprises any components common to a mobile telephone, such as user input components like buttons and a touch screen, output components like a speaker and a display screen. Figure 1 shows in particular a mobile network communication module 186, a mobile processing unit 182 and a mobile storage module 184.
[0040] The various components of the content publication system 100 will now be discussed in further detail in conjunction with a flowchart 200 depicting an example of a method according to the second aspect. The various parts of the flowchart 200 as depicted by Figure 2 are briefly summarised below.
[0041] 202 start procedure
[0042] 204 receive trend data
[0043] 206 determine trend attribute data
[0044] 208 receive brand data
[0045] 210 obtain character
[0046] 212 obtain content base data
[0047] 214 generate character content data
[0048] 216 send character content data
[0049] 218 receive user feedback data
[0050] 220 action required?
[0051] 222 wait for next feedback
[0052] 224 obtain new content base data
[0053] 226 update content generator
[0054] 228 adjust content generation instructions
[0055] The procedure starts in a terminator 202 and proceeds to step 204 in which data on trending topics with respect to content published by the social media platform is received by the content generation server 110.
[0056] Trending topics are topics to which a substantial amount of published posts are related. Such trending topics may be particular events, like sports events, like Formula 1 car racing, people related to such sports events, like the most frequent winner, music concerts, artists performing such concerts, public awareness campaigns, like responsible drinking or no consumption of alcoholic beverages in conjunction with driving of a car. Trends by be detected by identifying particular catchword in published posts. Such catchwords may be preceded by a hash (#) sign or be identified in another way.
[0057] The data on the trending topics may be accompanied by further information on the trending topic. Such further data may be data on people that feel related to the topic, for example people who submit a particular pre-defined response to the post ('like' or 'love', for example) and / or people who follow the event, artist or sportsman as so-called 'followers'. Such data may be related to age of people, interests of people based on types of posts they respond to, posts of the particular people themselves, other data or a combination of two or more thereof.
[0058] The further information on the trending topic may also be data providing an indication of the response, either pre- defined or otherwise, as discussed above, it may be data of developments of the data over time, other, or a combination of two or more of such data types. The analysis of data received, including determining trends and analysis of data in posts, may be executed by the trend analyser subunit 122.
[0059] In step 206, trend attribute data is determined, based on the trend data received, for example by the trend analyser subunit 122 as well. In case of an event as trending topic, based on the trend data, the topic may be classified to one of many pre- defined classes which are associated with the various pre-defined attributes as discussed above, like ’luxury’, ’fun’, ’relaxed’, ’sporty’, ’geeky’, ’tech savvy’, ’masculine’, ’romantic’. The rating may be executed automatically by analysing trend data, by analysing data related to followers themselves or related to responses submitted by the followers. The rating may also be executed by analysing data on the event itself. As a part of the trend data, popularity of the trending topic among users of the social media platform may be calculated over one or more time windows, for example over a period in time during a day, for example over one or more hours, over one or more days in a week, in a month or in a year, one or more weeks in a month or a year, other, or a combination of two or more thereof. The one or more windows may be predefined, arbitrarily chose, based on developments in the trend, other, or a combination of two or more thereof.
[0060] In step 208, brand data is received. The brand data identifies a particular brand for goods and / or services. A brand can also include an experience built around a trademark.
[0061] In step 210, an character record 140 is selected from the character storage module 116 by the character manager subunit 124. The character record is selected based on the character attribute fields provided in the character record 140 and values thereof on one hand and on the other hand based on trend data as discussed directly above, in particular with respect to attribute data attributed to the event. Certain values of certain attributes may be taken into account with different weights.
[0062] Optionally, also the brand data may be taken into account in selecting a particular character record 140. The brand data may, as discussed above, be considered to be an attribute. Additionally or alternatively, the brand data may be considered as defining a group to which particular character records are assigned, having particular person with avatars assigned to that group. As such, brand data may be used as group data. Such group data may define particular characters assigned to a brand.
[0063] In step 212, content base data is obtained from the content storage module 114, for example by the content generator subunit 126. Depending on a desired output type - text, still image or a videoclip -, a particular type of input data is selected as content base data. The selection of the content base data to be used is also based on the trend attribute data determined. Additionally or alternatively, content base data is obtained on attribute data associated with the character record 140.
[0064] Preferably, content base data is selected that has commonalities with the attribute data and in particular with values thereof. For example, if 'fun' scores high, content base data is selected from items stored in the content storage module 114 that people would commonly associate with fun, like leisure, being together with friends and family, laughing and making jokes.
[0065] In step 214, character content data is generated, for example by the content generator subunit 126. The character content data is generated based on the content base data retrieved in step 212 and may thus be based on one or more attributes data associated with a determined trend on the social media platform. The content data is generated in line with the attribute data associated with the selected character record 140.
[0066] The avatar, the electronic representation thereof, may also be used as input to the generation of the character content data, allowing the person or in any case the avatar representing the person to appear in the character content data. In case the brand is provided as an attribute, the brand itself and products and / or services sold or otherwise marketed under the brand may appear in the character content data as well.
[0067] The character content data may be generated by means of various ways. In one example, character content data is generated by a simple cut- and paste or copy-and-paste operation of brand and avatar in an existing image or videoclip selected based on criteria as discussed above. In another example, a trained machine, for example a trained neural network, is used to generate a videoclip, based on a particular prompt. The prompt may comprise data on the relevant attributes of the character record 140 or the trend identified. In particular in the latter example, the content generator subunit 126 may either be only generating a prompt and the rest of the content generation process may be executed by other hardware than the content generation server 110. Such other hardware may still be part of the content publication system 100.
[0068] In step 216, the character content data generated in step 214 is sent to the social media platform server 150 as a post to be published. In the social media platform server 150, the person associated with the selected character record 140 has an account dataset 170 associated therewith and sending the character content data results in a post 172 being generated, with text, still image and / or videoclip post data 174 being associated with the post 172. It is noted that the way the posts may be organised on the social media platform server 150 as described here are merely an example; such data may be organised in another way.
[0069] With the post comprising the character content data generated in step 214 being available on the media storage module 154, the post comprising the character content data is provided to particular users of the social media platform for display, for example by means of the content processing subunit 162. The particular users may be followers of the person associated with the post. Additionally or alternatively, the post comprising the character content data may be provided as promoted content, for example by paying a fee to the manager of the social media platform.
[0070] In step 218, feedback data is received, based on the post with the character content data. The data is firstly received on the social media platform server 150 and processed by the feedback processing subunit 164. As indicated above, the feedback may be discrete, in accordance with predefined messages or free-text. Feedback may also be provided by means of a still image or a videoclip. The feedback is transmitted to the content generation server 110, in which the feedback is processed by the score evaluation subunit 128 in step 220.
[0071] In step 220, the score evaluation subunit 128 determines whether the feedback meets particular criteria and if such is not the case, the score evaluation subunit 128 determines that action may be required. The particular criteria may be that a large amount of particular types of followers, that matches attributes having high scores associated therewith, is engaged with the post submitted in step 216. Such engagement may be determined by an amount of views of the post or a particular amount of positive pre- determined reactions.
[0072] Additionally or alternatively, content of free form reactions - text, audio, still images, videoclips - may be assessed. Such assessment may be that the content of such free form reactions is evaluated in accordance with the attributes determined before in conjunction with the determined trend and / or attributes associated with the selected character record 140. Such engagement may also be evaluated as a trend, for example a particular increase or decrease of engagement over time.
[0073] If it is determined in step 220 that no action is required as the engagement of followers is in line with expectations or requirements, the score evaluation subunit 128 waits for receiving further feedback from the feedback processing subunit 164 (via the network 190).
[0074] If it is determined in step 220 that action is required as the engagement of followers is not in line with expectations or requirements, the procedure continues to at least one of step 224, step 226 and step 228. These steps may be performed independently from one another, in parallel or in series; all step may be performed, only two of them or only one.
[0075] In step 224, other, for example new content base data may be obtained. The new base data may be searched in another database, using the same search criteria used before. Additionally or alternatively, search criteria may be adjusted, based on feedback received from the feedback processing subunit 164, optionally after processing by the score evaluation subunit 128.
[0076] In step 226, the content generator subunit 126 is adjusted. This step may be particularly relevant if a larger trained machine is used for generation of the character content data. In such scenario, parameters of the trained machine may be modified, in particular updated, for example by retraining the trained model. The retraining may be based on feedback received from the feedback processing subunit 164, optionally after processing by the score evaluation subunit 128. Furthermore, in step 226, attribute data of content base items stored in the content storage module 114 may adjusted in accordance with feedback data.
[0077] In step 228, instructions to the content generator subunit 126 or executed by the content generator subunit 126 may be adjusted. This may in particular be useful if a larger trained machine is used for generation of the character content data. In such scenario, a prompt provided to the trained machine by the content generator subunit 126 may be adjusted. Such adjustment may be based on feedback received from the feedback processing subunit 164, optionally after processing by the score evaluation subunit 128.
[0078] After execution of one or more of step 224, step 226 and step 228, the process branches back to step 214. In step 214, new content is generated for a new post to the social media platform server 150, as discussed above in conjunction with step 214.
[0079] The procedure and variations thereof are above described in conjunction with the selection of one character record 140, for which character content data is generated. In another example, multiple character records 140 are selected. In one example, all or a pre-determined amount of character records 140 are selected for which the values of particular attributes are above a particular threshold.
[0080] For each character record 140, character content data is generated, based on electronic avatar representation 142 of each character record 140 and for each character record 140, a social media post is submitted. The feedback for each of the individual character content data items, each provided in separate posts related to the associated person, is evaluated in step 220, by the score evaluation subunit 128. Based on the feedback, characteristics of character content items that have a high impact, showing more follower engagement, may be identified. In one example, such successful characteristics may be applied to newly generated or existing character content items. Subsequently, the amended or newly generated character content items may be published by means of the social media platform 150.
