AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Conventional power control methods based on pathloss (PL) measurements are inadequate for accurate uplink (UL) power control when a terminal device transmits to multiple transmission reception points (mTRP) but receives from a single transmission reception point (sTRP, as PL reference signal (RS) estimation is inaccurate.

Method used

A network device transmits a Medium Access Control (MAC) control element (CE) indicating updates to a set of PL offset values and a set of Transmission Power Control (TPC) commands to a terminal device, which determines a power control factor for UL transmission based on these signals.

Benefits of technology

Enables accurate UL power control by providing a low-overhead signaling mechanism for updating PL offsets, ensuring precise power adjustments in multi-TRP scenarios.

Description

[0002] Conventional power control is based on pathloss (PL) measured via a PL reference signal (RS) . Recently, it is proposed that a terminal device may transmit a UL to multiple transmission reception point (mTRP) but only receive a downlink (DL) from single transmission reception point (sTRP) , which means that measuring a PL RS may not provide accurate PL estimation. Then it is proposed to support a PL offset that is associated with a joint or UL transmission configuration indication (TCI) state. However, a solution of UL power control using a PL offset is still incomplete and needs to be further developed.SUMMARY

[0030] In view of this, embodiments of the present disclosure provide a solution of communication for UL power control so as to overcome the above and other potential issues. In the solution, a network device may transmit, to a terminal device, a MAC CE indicating update of a set of PL offset values, and transmit a set of TPC commands to the terminal device. The terminal device may determine a power control factor based on the MAC CE and the set of TPC commands, and perform power control for an uplink transmission based on the MAC CE and the power control factor. In this way, accurate UL power control may be carried out.

[0031] Principles and implementations of the present disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to the figures.

[0032] EXAMPLE OF COMMUNICATION NETWORK

[0033] FIG. 1 illustrates an example communication network 100 in which embodiments of the present disclosure can be implemented. As shown in FIG. 1, the communication network 100 includes a terminal device 110 and a network device 120 served by the terminal device 110. In some embodiments, the network device 120 and the terminal device 110 may communicate with direct links or channels (not shown) .

[0034] In some embodiments, a mTRP transmission and reception may be supported. In order to support mTRP, the network device 120 may be equipped with one or more TRPs. For example, the network device 120 may be coupled with multiple TRPs in different geographical locations to achieve better coverage. As shown in FIG. 1, the communication network 100 may further include a transmission reception point (TRP) 130 and a TRP 131. The network device 120 may be equipped with the TRPs 130 and 131. For example, the TRP 130 may be a micro node, and the TRP 131 may be a macro node. The terminal device 110 may communicate with the network device 120 via both the TRP 130 and the TRP 131. It is to be noted that more TRPs may also be feasible.

[0035] In some embodiments, a sTRP transmission and reception may also be supported. For example, the terminal device 110 may communicate with the network device 120 via the TRP 130 or TRP 131. Alternatively, in case of the MTRP mode, the terminal device 120  communicates with the network via both of the first TRP 130-1 and the second TRP 130-2.

[0036] In some embodiments, the network device 120 may provide one or more serving cells, and the TRPs 130 and 131 may be included in a same serving cell or different serving cells or a cell with a different physical cell identity (PCI) .

[0037] It is to be understood that the number of network devices and / or terminal devices and / or TRPs in FIG. 1 is given for the purpose of illustration without suggesting any limitations to the present disclosure. The communication network 100 may include any suitable number of network devices and / or terminal devices and / or TRPs adapted for implementing implementations of the present disclosure.

[0038] The communications in the communication network 100 may conform to any suitable standards including, but not limited to, global system for mobile communications (GSM) , long term evolution (LTE) , LTE-evolution, LTE-advanced (LTE-A) , new radio (NR) , wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) , code division multiple access (CDMA) , GSM EDGE radio access network (GERAN) , machine type communication (MTC) and the like. The embodiments of the present disclosure may be performed according to any generation communication protocols either currently known or to be developed in the future. Examples of the communication protocols include, but not limited to, the first generation (1G) , the second generation (2G) , 2.5G, 2.75G, the third generation (3G) , the fourth generation (4G) , 4.5G, the fifth generation (5G) communication protocols, 5.5G, 5G-advanced networks, or the sixth generation (6G) networks.

[0039] In some scenarios, as shown in FIG. 1, the terminal device 110 may transmit a UL via mTRP (e.g., via the TRPs 130 and 131) but only receive a DL via a sTRP (e.g., via the TRP 131) . In this case, measuring a PL RS cannot provide accurate PL estimation, and it is expected to support a PL offset associated with a joint or UL TCI state.

[0040] Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a solution of communication for UL power control considering a PL offset. It is to be noted that the solution may be applied to any suitable scenarios and not limited to the scenarios as described above. The solution will be described in detail with reference to FIG. 2 below.

[0042] FIG. 2 illustrates a signaling chart illustrating a process 200 of communication according to some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the process 200 will be described with reference to FIG. 1. The process 200 may involve  the terminal device 110 and the network device 120 as illustrated in FIG. 1. It is to be understood that steps and an order of the steps in FIG. 2 are merely for illustration, and not for limitation. For example, the order of the steps may be changed. Some of the steps may be omitted or any other suitable additional steps may be added.

[0043] As shown in FIG. 2, the network device 120 may transmit 210 a RRC configuration to the terminal device 110. In some embodiments, the RRC configuration may provide an association between a PL offset value and a joint or UL TCI state.

[0044] In some embodiments, the RRC configuration may provide a PL offset value in a joint or UL TCI state. In some embodiments, there may be two types of TCI states. One type is a TCI state with a PL offset value and the other type is a TCI state without a PL offset value.

[0045] In some embodiments, an UL TCI state may be configured with a PL offset value. For illustration, an example configuration may be described as below.

[0055] In some embodiments, the PL offset value may be represented as an integer, a range, an index, etc. For example, an information element (IE) ‘pathlossOffset-r19 INTEGER (0.. 30) ’ means that the PL offset value is one of values from 0dB to 30dB.

[0056] In some embodiments, the RRC configuration may configure multiple PL offset values (e.g., in a physical random access channel (PRACH) configuration) , and downlink control information (DCI) for a PDCCH order may indicate one of the multiple PL offset values via a field of the DCI. In some embodiments, a PL offset value associated with one of the indicated joint / UL TCI states for UL TRP in unified TCI framework may be applied on the PDCCH-order PRACH transmission.

[0057] In some embodiments, the PL offset values or indexes of the PL offset values may be provided in one or more of IEs ‘RACH-ConfigCommon’ , ‘RACH-ConfigCommonTwoStepRA’ , ‘RACH-ConfigDedicated’ , ‘RACH-ConfigGeneric’ , ‘RACH-ConfigGenericTwoStepRA’ , and ‘RACH-ConfigTwoTA’ . The IE ‘RACH-ConfigCommon’ is used to specify cell specific random-access parameters. The IE ‘RACH-ConfigCommonTwoStepRA’ is used to specify cell specific 2-step random-access type parameters. The IE ‘RACH-ConfigDedicated’ is used to specify the dedicated random access parameters. The IE ‘RACH-ConfigGeneric’ is used to specify the random-access parameters both for regular random access as well as for beam failure recovery. The IE ‘RACH-ConfigGenericTwoStepRA’ is used to specify the 2-step random access type parameters. The IE ‘RACH-ConfigTwoTA’ is used to specify random access parameters for each additional PCI configured for the serving cell.

[0058] For illustration, the RRC configuration may provide an association between a PL offset value and a joint or UL TCI state as shown in Table 5 below.

[0059] Table 5

[0060] For illustration, the RRC configuration may provide an association between a PL offset value and a PRACH configuration as shown in Table 6 below.

[0061] Table 6

[0062] With the RRC configuration, different PL offset values may be adopted for different TCI states.

[0063] Continuing to refer to FIG. 2, the terminal device 110 may perform 220 PL RS measurements so as to estimate PL for UL power control. In some embodiments, when a UL TCI state associated with a PL offset value is applied for a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) or physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) or sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission, a terminal device may calculate transmission (Tx) power of the PUSCH or PUCCH or SRS transmission based on a DL PL RS and the PL offset value associated with the UL TCI state.

[0064] For example, as for PUSCH, if the terminal device 110 transmits a PUSCH on active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c using parameter set configuration with index j and PUSCH power control adjustment state with index l, the terminal device 110 may determine  the PUSCH transmission power PPUSCH, b, f, c (i, j, qd, l) in PUSCH transmission occasion i based on an equation (1a) below:

[0065] where PCMAX, f, c (i) denotes configured maximum output power; PO_PUSCH, b, f, c (0) denotes target power P0; αb, f, c (j) denotes pathloss exponent alpha,  denotes the bandwidth of the PUSCH resource assignment expressed in number of resource blocks; PLb, f, c (qd) denotes a downlink pathloss estimate in dB calculated by the UE using reference signal (RS) index qd ;  for Ks=1.25 and ΔTF, b, f, c (i) =0 for Ks=0 where Ks is provided by deltaMCS; and fb, f, c (i, l) denotes the PUSCH power control adjustment state.

[0066] For example, the terminal device 110 may calculate Tx power of PUSCH transmission by replacing PLb, f, c with PLb, f, c-PL_offset in the equation (1a) and PL_offset may also be a function of one or many of the parameters b, f, c, k, i, l, qd, and TCI state.

[0067] As for PUCCH, the terminal device 110 may determine the PUCCH transmission power based on an equation (1b) below.

[0068] where PCMAX, f, c (i) denotes configured maximum output power; PO_PUCCH, b, f, c (qu) denotes a parameter composed of the sum of a component PO_NOMINAL, PUCCH, provided by p0-nominal, or PO_NOMINAL, PUCCH=0 dBm if p0-nominal is not provided, for carrier f of primary cell c and, if provided, a component PO_UE_PUCCH (qu) provided by p0-PUCCH-Value in P0-PUCCH for active UL BWP b of carrier f of primary cell c, where 0≤qu<Qu.Qu denotes a size for a set of PO_UE_PUCCH values provided by maxNrofPUCCH-P0-PerSet. The set of PO_UE_PUCCH values is provided by p0-Set. If p0-Set is not provided to the UE, PO_PUCCH, b, f, c (qu) =0 , 0≤qu<Qu ; PLb, f, c (qd) denotes a downlink pathloss estimate in dB calculated by the terminal device 110 using RS resource index qd 1 for the  active DL BWP b of carrier f of the primary cell c; ΔF_PUCCH (F) denotes a value of deltaF-PUCCH-f0 for PUCCH format 0, deltaF-PUCCH-f1 for PUCCH format 1, deltaF-PUCCH-f2 for PUCCH format 2, deltaF-PUCCH-f3 for PUCCH format 3, and deltaF-PUCCH-f4 for PUCCH format 4, if provided; otherwise ΔF_PUCCH (F) =0 ; and gb,f, c (i, l) denotes a PUCCH power control adjustment state for active UL BWP b of carrier f of primary cell c and PUCCH transmission occasion i.

[0069] For example, the terminal device 110 may calculate Tx power of PUCCH transmission by replacing PLb, f, c with PLb, f, c-PL_offset in the equation (1b) and PL_offset may also be a function of one or many of the parameters b, f, c, k, i, l, qd, and TCI state.

[0070] As for SRS, the terminal device 110 may determine the SRS transmission power based on an equation (1c) below.

[0071] where PCMAX, f, c (i) denotes configured maximum output power; PO_SRS, b, f, c (qs) is provided by p0 for active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c and SRS resource set qs provided by SRS-ResourceSet and SRS-ResourceSetId; MSRS, b, f, c (i) denotes an SRS bandwidth expressed in number of resource blocks for SRS transmission occasion i on active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c and μ is a SCS configuration; αSRS, b, f, c (qs) is provided by alpha for active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c and SRS resource set qs; PLb, f, c (qd) denotes a downlink pathloss estimate in dB calculated by the terminal device 110 using RS resource index qd 1 for the active DL BWP b of carrier f of the primary cell c ; and hb, f, c (i, l) =fb, f, c (i, l) , where fb, f, c (i, l) is the current PUSCH power control adjustment state, if srs-PowerControlAdjustmentStates indicates a same power control adjustment state for SRS transmissions and PUSCH transmissions.

[0072] For example, the terminal device 110 may calculate Tx power of SRS transmission by replacing PLb, f, c with PLb, f, c-PL_offset in the equation (1c) and PL_offset may also be a function of one or many of the parameters b, f, c, k, i, l, qd, and TCI state.

[0073] As for PRACH, the terminal device 110 may determine the PRACH transmission  power based on an equation (1d) below.

[0074] PPRACH, b, f, c (i) =min {PCMAX, f, c (i) , PPRACH, target, f, c+PLb, f, c}      (1d)

[0075] where PCMAX, f, c (i) denotes configured maximum output power; ePPRACH, target, f, c denotes the PRACH target reception power PREAMBLE_RECEIVED_TARGET_POWER provided by higher layers for the active UL BWP b of carrier f of cell c.

[0076] If the active TCI state for the PDCCH that provides the PDCCH order includes two RS, the terminal device 110 may expect that one RS is configured with qcl-Type set to 'typeD' and the terminal device 110 may use the one RS when applying a value provided by powerControlOffsetSS. In some embodiments, the active TCI state for the PDCCH or CORESET that provides the PDCCH order can be used as the TCI state for PRACH. In some embodiments, the PDCCH order may indicate the active TCI state for PRACH.

[0077] Continuing to refer to FIG. 2, the network device 120 may transmit 230, to the terminal device 110, a MAC CE (also referred to as PL offset update MAC CE herein) indicating update of a set of PL offset values. In some embodiments, the set of PL offset values may be associated with a set of TCI states. In some embodiments, the set of PL offset values may be associated with a set of PL RSs.

[0078] In some embodiments, support of the PL offset update MAC CE may be enabled by the RRC configuration. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may transmit, to the network device 120, capability information indicating the terminal device 110 supports the PL offset update MAC CE.

[0079] In some additional embodiments, the network device 120 may transmit a MAC CE (also referred to as a TCI state activation MAC CE herein) for TCI state activation to the terminal device 110. The TCI state activation MAC CE may be used to select one or more TCI states to be activated. In some embodiments, there may be two types of TCI states. One type is a RRC configured TCI state, and the other type is a MAC CE activated TCI state.

[0080] In some embodiments, the MAC CE may comprise a set of values (for convenience, also referred to as a set of first values herein) applied to the set of TCI states or PL RSs. In some embodiments, the MAC CE may further comprise the set of TCI states or PL RSs. In some embodiments, the set of first values may comprise only a first value. In some embodiments, the first value may be applied to the set of TCI states or PL RSs. For example, the first value may be applied to multiple TCI states. The multiple TCI states may be TCI  states associated with a PL offset value. Alternatively or additionally, the multiple TCI states may be configured and / or activated TCI states. For example, the first value may be applied to all configured TCI states with a PL offset value. Alternatively, the first value may be only applied to those TCI states with a PL offset value configured and activated / indicated, and not applied to those configured but not activated / indicated.

[0081] In some embodiments, the set of first values may comprise multiple first values. In this case, a first value in the multiple first values may be applied to one or more TCI states or PL RSs in the set of TCI sates or PL RSs.

[0082] In some embodiments, a first value in the set of first values may be an absolute value (e.g., PL offset value #X) . In this case, the terminal device 110 may update a PL offset value in the set of PL offset values by replacing the PL offset value with a first value corresponding to the PL offset value. That is, the first value will be used to replace the previous configured or indicated or applied PL offset value. For example, if previous PL offsets are PL offset value #1, and PL offset value #2, after applying the PL offset update MAC CE which indicates a PL offset value #X, an updated PL offset values will be the PL offset value #X.

[0083] In some embodiments, a first value in the set of first values may be an accumulated value (e.g., delta to a PL offset value) . In some embodiments, the accumulated value may be positive, or non-negative. In some embodiments, the accumulated value may be negative, or non-positive. In some embodiments, the accumulated value may be negative or positive.

[0084] In this case, the terminal device 110 may update a PL offset value in the set of PL offset values by accumulating a first value corresponding to the PL offset value to the PL offset value. That is, the first value may be used in addition to a previous configured or indicated or applied value to determine an updated PL offset value. In some embodiments, if the updated PL offset value is larger than a threshold value (e.g., a maximum value) , the terminal device 110 may set the updated PL offset value to be the threshold value. In some embodiments, the threshold value may be configured or predefined. For example, if TCI state #1 is with a PL offset value #1, and PL offset value #1 + Delta #1 > maximum PL offset, the TCI state #1 is associated with the maximum PL offset. In some embodiments, if the updated PL offset value is smaller than a threshold value (e.g., a minimum value) , the terminal device 110 may set the updated PL offset value to be the threshold value. In some embodiments, the threshold value may be configured or predefined. For example, if TCI state #1 is with a PL offset value #1, and PL offset value #1 -Delta #1 < minimum PL offset,  the TCI state #1 is associated with the minimum PL offset.

[0085] In some embodiments, if more than one MAC CE is received, a sum of multiple indicated values from multiple MAC CEs may be applied. For example, if TCI state #1 is with a PL offset value #1, and the terminal device 110 receives two sequential MAC CEs providing Delta #1 and Delta #2 respectively, the terminal device 110 may set the updated PL offset to be PL offset value #1 + Delta #1 + Delta #2.

[0086] In some embodiments, if more than one MAC CE is received, only the indicated value from the most recent MAC CE may be applied. For example, if TCI state #1 is with a PL offset value #1, and the terminal device 110 receives two sequential MAC CEs providing Delta #1 and Delta #2 respectively, the terminal device 110 may set the updated PL offset to be PL offset value #1 + Delta #2.

[0087] In some embodiments, the PL offset value update MAC CE may provide one accumulative value which is applied to the configured PL offset values for all configured TCI states.

[0088] In some embodiments, there may be two different accumulation methods. If more than one MAC CE is received, one method (Accumulated update -type 1) is that each MAC CE would provide a new PL offset value update applied to the RRC configured PL offset, the other (Accumulated update -type 2) is that each MAC CE would provide a new PL value update applied to the last PL offset. Table 7 shows different PL offset value update. As shown in Table 7, for the two different accumulation methods, exact values corresponding to a same indication may be different. For the Accumulated update -type 2, the adjustment may be finer.

[0089] Table 7

[0090] In some embodiments, the MAC CE may comprise multiple first values which can  be applied to multiple TCI states. For example, there may be one to one mapping between the multiple first values and the multiple TCI states. In another example, there may be one to one mapping between the multiple first values and multiple PL offset values. It is to be noted that there may also be one to many, many to one, or many to many mapping between the multiple first values and the multiple TCI states or between the multiple first values and multiple PL offset values.

[0091] In some alternative embodiments, the multiple first values may be applied to one TCI state. For example, the multiple first values may be applied in different time, e.g., one of the multiple first values is applied after t1, another one of the multiple first values is applied after t2, etc.

[0092] In some alternative embodiments, one or multiple first values may be applied to multiple PL offset values. For example, the one or multiple first values may be applied to all configured PL offset values. In another example, the one or multiple first values may be applied to PL offset values associated with a TCI state.

[0093] In some alternative embodiments, one or multiple first values may be applied to multiple PL RSs. For example, the one or multiple first values may be applied to all configured PL RSs. In another example, the one or multiple first values may be applied to PL RSs associated with a PL offset value. In still another example, the one or multiple first values may be applied to PL RSs associated with a PRACH transmission.

[0094] For illustration, some example embodiments will be described with reference to Tables 8 to 11 below.

[0095] Table 8

[0096] Table 9

[0097] Table 10

[0098] Table 11

[0099] In some embodiments, the MAC CE may further comprise cell information, bandwidth part (BWP) information, TCI state information, PL RS information, etc. The present disclosure does not limit this aspect.

[0100] In this way, only one MAC CE is needed to update a PL offset value, and thus low overhead signaling may be achieved.

[0101] With reference to FIG. 2, the network device 120 may transmit 240 a set of TPC commands to the terminal device 110. In some embodiments, the network device 120 may transmit the set of TPC commands via DCI. The network device 120 may adjust Tx power of the terminal device 110 by the set of TPC commands. In some embodiments, the set of TPC commands may comprise one TPC command. In some embodiments, the set of TPC commands may comprise multiple TPC commands.

[0102] As shown in FIG. 2, the terminal device 110 may determine 250 a power control factor based on the PL offset update MAC CE and the set of TPC commands. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may skip (i.e., not apply) one or more TPC commands in the set of TPC commands that are received within a period of time before an application of the MAC CE.

[0103] In some embodiments, when a PL offset value is updated by the PL offset update MAC CE, it means that a relative position between TRP and the terminal device 110 is changed, and a TPC accumulation is not accurate anymore or the TPC accumulation cannot reflect the change of the relative position. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may not expect to receive a positive TPC command value or the terminal device 110 may be not required to apply a TPC command in a PDCCH reception with a last symbol that is less than Y time units (e.g., 3ms) before the application of the PL offset update MAC CE. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may be not required to apply a TPC command for a UL transmission (PUSCH / PUCCH / SRS) after reception of the PL offset update MAC CE and before the application of the PL offset update MAC CE.

[0104] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may reset a TPC accumulation associated with the set of TPC commands. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may reset accumulation of Tx power when the PL offset update MAC CE is received or applied. Additionally or alternatively, the terminal device 110 may reset accumulation of Tx power only when the PL offset update MAC CE indicates that a PL offset variation is larger than a threshold. Additionally or alternatively, the terminal device 110 may reset accumulation of Tx power when a PL offset value is updated by a RRC reconfiguration.

[0105] In some embodiments, Tx power may be PUSCH Tx power. In these embodiments, the power control factor may comprise a PUSCH power control adjustment state for an active UL bandwidth of a carrier of a serving cell in a PUSCH transmission occasion.

[0106] For example, if the terminal device 110 is not provided with TPC accumulation, a PUSCH power control adjustment state fb, f, c (i, l) for active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c in PUSCH transmission occasion i may be determined based on an equation (1) below.

[0107] where denotes a sum of TPC command values in a set Di of  TPC command values with cardinality C (Di) that the terminal device 110 receives between KPUSCH (i-i0) -1 symbols before PUSCH transmission occasion i-i0 and KPUSCH (i) symbols before PUSCH transmission occasion i on active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c for PUSCH power control adjustment state l, where i0>0 is the smallest integer for which KPUSCH (i-i0) symbols before PUSCH transmission occasion i-i0 is earlier than KPUSCH (i) symbols before PUSCH transmission occasion i.

[0108] Alternatively or additionally, the set Di of TPC command values does not include those received less than Y time units (e.g., 3ms) before the application of the PL offset update MAC CE.

[0109] In some embodiments, when the PL offset update MAC CE is received or applied, the terminal device 110 may reset accumulation of a PUSCH power control adjustment state l for active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c to fb, f, c (k, l) =0 , where k=0,1, …, i.

[0110] Alternatively or additionally, even if the terminal device 110 is provided with the TPC accumulation, when the PL offset update MAC CE is received or applied, the terminal device 110 may reset the PUSCH power control adjustment state to fb, f, c (k, l) =0, where k=0, 1, …, i. Alternatively, in some cases k=1, …, i.

[0111] In some embodiments, Tx power may be PUCCH Tx power. In these embodiments, the power control factor may comprise a PUCCH power control adjustment state for an active UL bandwidth of a carrier of a primary cell in a PUCCH transmission occasion.

[0112] For example, a PUCCH power control adjustment state for active UL BWP b of carrier f of primary cell c in PUCCH transmission occasion i may be determined based on an equation (2) below.

[0113] where gb, f, c (i, l) denotes the PUCCH power control adjustment state for active UL BWP b of carrier f of primary cell c in PUCCH transmission occasion i, gb, f, c (i-i0, l) denotes the PUCCH power control adjustment state for active UL BWP b of carrier f of primary cell c in PUCCH transmission occasion i-i0, and denotes a sum of TPC command values in a set Ci of TPC command values with cardinality C (Ci) that the terminal device 110 receives between KPUCCH (i-i0) -1 symbols before PUCCH  transmission occasion i-i0 an KPUCCH (i) symbols before PUCCH transmission occasion i on active UL BWP b of carrier f of primary cell c for PUCCH power control adjustment state, where i0>0 is the smallest integer for which KPUCCH (i-i0) symbols before PUCCH transmission occasion i-i0 is earlier than KPUCCH (i) symbols before PUCCH transmission occasion i.

[0114] Alternatively or additionally, the set Di of TPC command values does not include those received less than Y time units (e.g., 3ms) before the application of the PL offset update MAC CE.

[0115] In some embodiments, when the PL offset update MAC CE is received or applied, the terminal device 110 may reset the PUCCH power control adjustment state gb, f, c (k, l) for active UL BWP b of carrier f of primary cell c in PUCCH transmission occasion i, where k=0, 1, …, i. Alternatively, in some cases k=1, …, i.

[0116] In some embodiments, Tx power may be SRS Tx power. In these embodiments, the power control factor may comprise a SRS power control adjustment state for an active UL bandwidth of a carrier of a serving cell in a SRS transmission occasion.

[0117] For example, if a same power control adjustment state is indicated for SRS transmissions and PUSCH transmissions, a SRS power control adjustment state for active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c and SRS transmission occasion i may be determined by an equation (3) below.

[0118] hb, f, c (i, l) =fb, f, c (i, l)                   (3)

[0119] where hb, f, c (i, l) denotes the SRS power control adjustment state for active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c and SRS transmission occasion i , and fb, f, c (i, l) denotes a PUSCH power control adjustment state.

[0120] In another example, if the terminal device 110 is not configured for PUSCH transmissions on active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c , or if separate power control adjustment states are indicated for SRS transmissions and PUSCH transmissions, and if TPC accumulation is not provided, a SRS power control adjustment state for active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c and SRS transmission occasion i may be determined by an equation (4) below.

[0121] where hb, f, c (i, l) denotes the SRS power control adjustment state for active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c and SRS transmission occasion i, hb, f, c (i-i0) denotes the SRS power control adjustment state for active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c and SRS transmission occasion i-i0 , and denotes a sum of TPC command values in a set Si of TPC command values with cardinality C (Si) that the terminal device 110 receives between KSRS (i-i0) -1 symbols before SRS transmission occasion i-i0 and KSRS (i) symbols before SRS transmission occasion i on active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c for SRS power control adjustment state, where i0>0 is the smallest integer for which KSRS (i-i0) symbols before SRS transmission occasion i-i0 is earlier than KSRS (i) symbols before SRS transmission occasion i.

[0122] Alternatively or additionally, the set Di of TPC command values does not include those received less than Y time units (e.g., 3ms) before the application of the PL offset update MAC CE.

[0123] In some embodiments, when the PL offset update MAC CE is received or applied, the terminal device 110 may reset a corresponding SRS power control adjustment state l for active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c to hb, f, c (k) =0, where k=0, 1, …, i.

[0124] Alternatively or additionally, even if the terminal device 110 is provided with TPC accumulation, when the PL offset update MAC CE is received or applied, the terminal device 110 may reset the SRS power control adjustment state to hb, f, c (k) =0, where k=0, 1, …, i. Alternatively, in some cases k=1, …, i.

[0125] Additionally or alternatively, the reset may be only for a specific power control adjustment state l which corresponds to the TRP without DL, e.g., l = 1 or l = 0. Additionally or alternatively, the reset may be only for a specific TCI states which corresponds to a TRP without DL, e.g., TCI states configured with a PL offset value.

[0126] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine, based on an updated PL offset value, an initial value of the power control factor in a starting transmission occasion, e.g., i=0 and l =0. In some embodiments, if a PRACH is configured with an associated PL offset value used for PRACH transmission, the terminal device 110 may determine the initial value of the power control factor based on the updated PL offset value.

[0127] For example, for PUSCH Tx power, the terminal device 110 may calculate a value related to ramp-up power with a configured / indicated / updated PL offset value, e.g., for  fb,f, c (0, 0) which is PUSCH scheduled by a random access response (RAR) or a PUSCH part of MsgA. Alternatively, the PL offset value may only be applied if the PRACH with ramp-up power is transmitted to the TRP without DL. This type of PRACH may be configured with an associated PL offset value used for PRACH transmission, or may be applied with a TCI state that is associated with a PL offset value. In some embodiments, the PL offset value may only be applied if the UL beam used for the PUSCH is different from the UL beam used for PRACH with ramp-up power.

[0128] For illustration, an example procedure may be described as below.

[0129] - If the terminal device 110 receives a random access response message in response to a PRACH transmission or a MsgA transmission on active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c

[0130] -fb, f, c (0, l) =ΔPrampup, b, f, c+δmsg2, b, f, c, where l=0 and

[0131] -δmsg2, b, f, c is a TPC command value indicated in a random access response grant of the random access response message corresponding to a PRACH transmission according to Type-1 random access procedure, or in a random access response grant of the random access response message corresponding to a MsgA transmission according to Type-2 random access procedure with RAR message (s) for fallbackRAR, on active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c, and

[0132] and ΔPrampup_requested, b, f, c is provided by higher layers and corresponds to the total power ramp-up requested by higher layers for carrier f in the serving cell c ,  is the bandwidth of the PUSCH resource assignment expressed in number of resource blocks for the first PUSCH transmission on active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c, and ΔTF, b, f, c (0) is the power adjustment of first PUSCH transmission on active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c.

[0133] -If the terminal device 110 transmits the PUSCH in PUSCH transmission occasion i on active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c, fb, f, c (0, l) =ΔPrampup, b, f, c, where l=0, and

[0134] and ΔPrampup_requested, b, f, c is provided by higher layers and corresponds to the total power ramp-up requested by higher layers,  is the bandwidth of the PUSCH resource assignment expressed in number of resource blocks, and ΔTF, b, f, c (i) is the power adjustment of the PUSCH transmission in PUSCH transmission occasion i.

[0135] In this example procedure, PL_offset may also be a function of one or many of the parameters b, f, c, k, i, l, qd, and TCI state.

[0136] In another example, for PUCCH Tx power, the terminal device 110 may calculate a value related to ramp-up power with a configured / indicated / updated PL offset value, e.g., for gb,f, c (0, 0) which is PUCCH indicated by a RAR. Alternatively, the PL offset value may only be applied if the PRACH with ramp-up power is transmitted to the TRP without DL. This type of PRACH may be configured with an associated PL offset value used for PRACH transmission, or may be applied with a TCI state that is associated with a PL offset value. In some embodiments, the PL offset value may only be applied if the UL beam used for the PUCCH is different from the UL beam used for PRACH with ramp-up power.

[0137] For illustration, an example procedure may be described as below.

[0138] -gb, f, c (0, l) =ΔPrampup, b, f, c+δb, f, c, where l=0, and δb, f, c is

[0142] ΔPrampup, b, f, c=min [max (0, PCMAX, f, c- (PO_PUCCH, b, f, c+ (PLb, f, c (qd) -PL_offset) +ΔF_PUCCH+ΔTF, b, f, c+δb, f, c) ) , ΔPrampup_requested, b, f, c] ;

[0143] otherwise,

[0144] ΔPrampup, b, f, c=min [max (0, PCMAX, f, c- (PO_PUCCH, b, f, c+ (PLb, f, c (qd) -PL_offset) ) ) , ΔPrampup_requested, b, f, c] whereΔPrampup_requested, b, f, c is provided by higher layers and corresponds to the total power ramp-up requested by higher layers from the first to the last preamble for active UL BWP b of carrier f of primary cell c, and ΔF_PUCCH corresponds to PUCCH format 0 or PUCCH format 1.

[0145] In this example procedure, PL_offset may also be a function of one or many of the parameters b, f, c, k, i, l, qd, and TCI state.

[0146] In still another example, for SRS Tx power, the terminal device 110 may calculate a value related to ramp-up power with a configured / indicated / updated PL offset value, e.g., for hb,f, c (0) which is SRS indicated by a RAR. Alternatively, the PL offset value may only be applied if the PRACH with ramp-up power is transmitted to the TRP without DL. This type of PRACH may be configured with an associated PL offset value used for PRACH transmission, or may be applied with a TCI state that is associated with a PL offset value. In some embodiments, the PL offset value may only be applied if the UL beam used for the SRS is different from the UL beam used for PRACH with ramp-up power.

[0147] For illustration, an example procedure may be described as below.

[0148] -hb, f, c (0) = ΔPrampup, b, f, c+δb, f, c

[0149] where δb, f, c is

[0150] -the TPC command value indicated in the random access response grant corresponding to a PRACH transmission according to Type-1 random access procedure, or in a random access response grant corresponding to MsgA transmissions according to Type-2 random access procedure with RAR message (s) for fallback RAR, or

[0151] -the TPC command value indicated in a success RAR corresponding to MsgA transmissions for Type-2 random access procedure,

[0152] and

[0153] ΔPrampup, b, f, c=min [max (0, PCMAX, f, c- (PO_SRS, b, f, c (qs) +10log10 (2μ.MSRS, b, f, c (i) ) +αSRS, b, f, c (qs) · (PLb, f, c (qd) -PL_offset) ) ) , ΔPrampup_requested, b, f, c] ;

[0154] where ΔPrampup_requested, b, f, c is provided by higher layers and corresponds to the total power ramp-up requested by higher layers from the first to the last preamble for active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c.

[0155] In this example procedure, PL_offset may also be a function of one or many of the parameters b, f, c, k, i, l, qd, and TCI state.

[0156] Continuing to refer to FIG. 2, the terminal device 110 may perform 260 power control for an uplink transmission based on the MAC CE and the power control factor. In this way, an impact of the PL offset update MAC CE on TPC may be considered and more accurate power control may be achieved.

[0157] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine an application timing of the PL offset update MAC CE, and apply PL estimation based on an updated PL offset value at the application timing. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may apply the PL estimation based on the updated PL offset value starting from the first slot that is after slot where k denotes a slot where the terminal device 110 would transmit a PUCCH or PUSCH with hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) -acknowledgement (ACK) information for a PDSCH providing the MAC CE, μ denotes a SCS configuration for the PUCCH or PUSCH, respectively, that is determined in a slot when the MAC CE command is applied,  denotes number of slots per subframe for the SCS configuration μ , and kmac denotes number of slots for SCS configuration μ=0 provided by kmac or kmac=0 if kmac is not provided.

[0158] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may apply the PL estimation based on the updated PL offset value for UL Tx power determination. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may apply the PL estimation based on the updated PL offset value for power headroom (PH) determination.

[0159] With reference to FIG. 2, in some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine 270 whether a PHR is to be triggered, i.e., whether a condition for triggering a PHR is fulfilled.

[0160] In some embodiments, if the PL offset update MAC CE indicates that a variation of a PL offset value in the set of PL offset values is larger than a first threshold, the terminal device 110 may determine that the condition for triggering the PHR is fulfilled. For example, if the PL offset update MAC CE provides only one accumulated value for PL offset update, then the variation is equal to the accumulated value indicated in the PL offset update MAC CE. If the PL offset update MAC CE provides multiple PL offset values, the variation may be calculated for any TCI state or for one specific TCI state.

[0161] In some embodiments, if the terminal device 110 determines that a variation of a PL offset value in the set of PL offset values is larger than a second threshold (e.g., YdB) , the terminal device 110 may determine that the condition for triggering the PHR is fulfilled. For example, if the terminal device 110 determines that a PL offset value has changed more than YdB since the last configuration or since the last PHR report, the terminal device 110 may determine that the condition for triggering the PHR is fulfilled. The last configuration may include a RRC configuration or PL offset update MAC CE. Optionally, a PL offset variation for one cell assessed above is between current PL offset and past PL offset at the transmission time of the last transmission of PHR, irrespective of how many MAC CEs are received (e.g., accumulation of multiple deltas) and whether TCI state has changed in between.

[0162] In some embodiments, if the terminal device 110 determines that a variation of a PL value is larger than a third threshold (e.g., ZdB) , the terminal device 110 may determine that the condition for triggering the PHR is fulfilled. For example, if the terminal device 110 determines that a PL value has changed more than ZdB since the last configuration or since the last PHR report, the terminal device 110 may determine that the condition for triggering the PHR is fulfilled. Optionally, a PL variation for one cell assessed above is between {aPL measured at present time on the current PL reference (or TCI state) + current PL offset} and {aPL measured at the transmission time of the last transmission of PHR on the PL reference (or TCI state) in use at that time + past PL offset} , irrespective of whether the PL reference (or TCI state) has changed in between.

[0163] It is to be noted that the first threshold, the second threshold and the third threshold may be different, based on a configuration from the network device 120 or a capability reporting of the terminal device 110 or predefinition. In some embodiments, an ordering may be the first threshold > the second threshold > the third threshold.

[0164] In some embodiments, if the PHR is based on a reference SRS transmission and the SRS transmission corresponds to a SRS resource set associated with a TCI state configured with a PL offset value, the terminal device 110 may determine that the condition for triggering the PHR is fulfilled. In other words, if type 3 PHR based on reference SRS transmission is reported, whether PH is calculated with deduction of the updated PL offset value is based on whether the TCI state associated with the reference SRS resource set is configured with a PL offset value.

[0165] For example, an equation (5) below may be updated if a specific SRS resource set (e.g., an SRS resource set corresponding to a SRS resource set ID equal to 0) associated with a TCI state configured with a PL offset value is used for reference SRS transmission.

[0166] where qs denotes an SRS resource set corresponding to SRS resource set ID equal to 0 for UL BWP b, and PO_SRS, b, f, c (qs) , αSRS, b, f, c (qs) , PLb, f, c (qd) and hb, f, c (i, l) are defined with corresponding values obtained from SRS resource set ID equal to 0 for UL BWP b.  is computed assuming maximum power reduction (MPR) =0dB, additional MPR (A-MPR) =0dB, power management MPR (P-MPR) =0dB andΔTc=0dB.

[0167] Additionally or alternatively, the specific SRS resource set is not for beam management. Additionally or alternatively, the type 3 PHR is based on a reference SRS transmission corresponding to a specific SRS resource set associated. For example, if a type 3 PH is reported together with a type 1 PH, the selection of reference SRS resource set (in other words, whether to consider PL_offset in PHR) is based on the type 1 PH. If type 1 PH is based on PUSCH with a TCI state which is configured with a PL offset value, type 3 PH is reported with the PL_offset . Alternatively, type 3 PH is reported without the PL_offset . If type 1 PH is based on PUSCH associated with a control resource set (CORESET) pool index, the reference SRS resource set may be the SRS resource set with lowest ID associated with the same CORESET pool index. Alternatively, if type 1 PH is based on PUSCH associated with a CORESET pool index, the reference SRS resource set may be the SRS resource set with lowest ID associated with a different CORESET pool index.

[0168] With reference to FIG. 2, upon the condition for triggering the PHR is fulfilled, the terminal device 110 may transmit 280 the PHR to the network device 120. In some embodiments, the PHR may comprise at least one PH that is determined based on an updated  PL offset value. This may be suitable for both a PHR based on an actual transmission and a PHR based on a reference transmission. In some additional or alternative embodiments, the PHR based on the actual transmission may be calculated with the updated PL offset value, and the PHR based on the reference transmission may be calculated without the updated PL offset value.

[0169] In the present disclosure, below three types of power headroom (also may be referred to as PHR Type 1 / 2 / 3 sometimes) are defined:

[0170] - Type 1 power headroom: the difference between the nominal UE maximum transmit power and the estimated power for uplink shared channel (UL-SCH) transmission per activated Serving Cell;

[0171] - Type 2 power headroom: the difference between the nominal UE maximum transmit power and the estimated power for UL-SCH and physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) transmission on special cell (SpCell) of the other MAC entity (i.e. evolved universal terrestrial radio access (E-UTRA) MAC entity in EUTRA-NR dual connection (EN-DC) , new radio E-UTRA dual connectivity (NE-DC) , and next generation RAN E-UTRA new radio-dual connectivity (NGEN-DC) cases) ;

[0172] - Type 3 power headroom: the difference between the nominal UE maximum transmit power and the estimated power for SRS transmission per activated Serving Cell.

[0175] In some embodiments, PHR Type1 based on reference transmission may be  calculated based on an equation (7) below.

[0176] where is computed assuming that MPR=0 dB, A-MPR=0 dB, P-MPR=0 dB and ΔTC = 0 dB. PCMAX, f, c (i) denotes configured maximum output power; PO_PUSCH, b, f, c (0) denotes target power P0; αb, f, c (j) denotes pathloss exponent alpha, PLb, f, c (qd) denotes a downlink pathloss estimate in dB calculated by the UE using reference signal (RS) index qd; and fb, f, c (i, l) denotes the PUSCH power control adjustment state.

[0177] In some embodiments, PHR Type3 based on actual transmission may be calculated based on an equation (8) below.

[0178] PHtype3, b, f, c (i, qs) =PCMAX, f, c (i) - {PO_SRS, b, f, c (qs) +10log10 (2μ·MSRS, b, f, c (i) ) +αSRS, b, f, c (qs) ·PLb, f, c (qd) +hb, f, c (i) }

[0179] (8)

[0180] where PCMAX, f, c (i) denotes configured maximum output power; PO_SRS, b, f, c (qs) is provided by p0 for active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c and SRS resource set qs provided by SRS-ResourceSet and SRS-ResourceSetId; MSRS, b, f, c (i) denotes an SRS bandwidth expressed in number of resource blocks for SRS transmission occasion i on active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c and μ is a SCS configuration; αSRS, b, f, c (qs) is provided by alpha for active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c and SRS resource set qs; PLb, f, c (qd) denotes a downlink pathloss estimate in dB calculated by the terminal device 110 using RS resource index qd 1 for the active DL BWP b of carrier f of the primary cell c ; and hb, f, c (i, l) =fb, f, c (i, l) , where fb, f, c (i, l) is the current PUSCH power control adjustment state, if srs-PowerControlAdjustmentStates indicates a same power control adjustment state for SRS transmissions and PUSCH transmissions.

[0181] In some embodiments, PHR Type3 based on reference transmission may be calculated based on an equation (9) below.

[0182] where PCMAX, f, c (i) denotes configured maximum output power; PO_SRS, b, f, c (qs) is provided by p0 for active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c and SRS resource set qs provided by SRS-ResourceSet and SRS-ResourceSetId; αSRS, b, f, c (qs) is provided by  alpha for active UL BWP b of carrier f of serving cell c and SRS resource set qs ; PLb, f, c (qd) denotes a downlink pathloss estimate in dB calculated by the terminal device 110 using RS resource index qd 1 for the active DL BWP b of carrier f of the primary cell c; and hb, f, c (i, l) =fb, f, c (i, l) , where fb, f, c (i, l) is the current PUSCH power control adjustment state, if srs-PowerControlAdjustmentStates indicates a same power control adjustment state for SRS transmissions and PUSCH transmissions.

[0183] For example, if the PHR is calculated with the updated PL offset value, then a terminal device 110 may calculate PHR by replacing PLb, f, c with PLb, f, c-PL_offset in the equations provided in background 2 and PL_offset may also be a function of one or many of the parameters b, f, c, k, i, l, qd, and TCI state.

[0184] Additionally or alternatively, if the PHR is calculated with the updated PL offset value, then a terminal device 110 may calculate PHR by replacing PLb, f, c with PLb, f, c-PL_offset to determine the power control factor fb, f, c (i, l) , gb, f, c (i, l) , or hb, f, c (i, l) in the equations provided in background 2 and PL_offset may also be a function of one or many of the parameters b, f, c, k, i, l, qd, and TCI state.

[0185] In this way, a PHR may be triggered to reflect that there may be a significant change of a relative position between a TRP and a terminal device.

[0186] It is to be understood that operations in the process 200 may be carried out separately or in any suitable combinations.

[0187] EXAMPLE IMPLEMENTATION OF METHODS

[0188] Corresponding to the above process, embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods of communication implemented at a terminal device and a network device. These methods will be described below with reference to FIGs. 3 and 4.

[0189] FIG. 3 illustrates a flowchart of a method 300 of communication implemented at a terminal device in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For example, the method 300 may be performed at the terminal device 110 as shown in FIG. 1. For the purpose of discussion, in the following, the method 300 will be described with reference to FIG. 1. It is to be understood that the method 300 may include additional blocks not shown and / or may omit some blocks as shown, and the scope of the present disclosure is not limited in this regard.

[0190] At block 310, the terminal device 110 may receive, from the network device 120, a  MAC CE indicating update of a set of PL offset values. In some embodiments, the set of PL offset values may be associated with a set of TCI states or PL RSs, and the MAC CE may comprise a set of first values applied to the set of TCI states or PL RSs.

[0191] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may update a PL offset value in the set of PL offset values by replacing the PL offset value with a first value.

[0192] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may update a PL offset value in the set of PL offset values by accumulating a first value to the PL offset value. In some embodiments, in accordance with a determination that an updated PL offset value is larger than a threshold value, the terminal device 110 may set the updated PL offset value to be the threshold value.

[0193] At block 320, the terminal device 110 may receive, from the network device 120, a set of TPC commands.

[0194] At block 330, the terminal device 110 may determine a power control factor based on the MAC CE and the set of TPC commands.

[0195] In some embodiments, the power control factor may comprise one of the following: a PUSCH power control adjustment state for an active uplink bandwidth of a carrier of a serving cell in a PUSCH transmission occasion; a PUCCH power control adjustment state for an active uplink bandwidth of a carrier of a primary cell in a PUCCH transmission occasion; or a SRS power control adjustment state for an active uplink bandwidth of a carrier of a serving cell in a SRS transmission occasion.

[0196] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the power control factor by: determining, based on an updated PL offset value, an initial value of the power control factor in a starting transmission occasion. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the power control factor by: in accordance with a determination that a PRACH is configured with an associated PL offset value used for PRACH transmission, determining the initial value of the power control factor based on the updated PL offset value.

[0197] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the power control factor by at least one of the following: skipping one or more TPC commands in the set of TPC commands that are received within a period of time before an application of the MAC CE;or resetting a TPC accumulation associated with the set of TPC commands.

[0198] At block 340, the terminal device 110 may perform power control for a UL  transmission based on the MAC CE and the power control factor.

[0199] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may perform the power control by: determining an application timing of the MAC CE; and applying a PL estimation based on an updated PL offset value at the application timing.

[0200] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may transmit a PHR to the network device 120 based on at least one of the following: the MAC CE indicates that a variation of a PL offset value in the set of PL offset values is larger than a first threshold; the terminal device 110 determines that a variation of a PL offset value in the set of PL offset values is larger than a second threshold; the terminal device 110 determines that a variation of a PL value is larger than a third threshold; or the PHR is based on a reference SRS transmission and the SRS transmission corresponds to a SRS resource set associated with a TCI state configured with a PL offset value. In some embodiments, the PHR may comprise at least one power headroom that is determined based on an updated PL offset value.

[0201] With the method 300, accurate UL power control may be carried out.

[0202] FIG. 4 illustrates a flowchart of a method 400 of communication implemented at a network device in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For example, the method 400 may be performed at the network device 120 as shown in FIG. 1. For the purpose of discussion, in the following, the method 400 will be described with reference to FIG. 1. It is to be understood that the method 400 may include additional blocks not shown and / or may omit some blocks as shown, and the scope of the present disclosure is not limited in this regard.

[0203] At block 410, the network device 120 may transmit, to the terminal device 110, transmit, to a terminal device, a MAC CE indicating update of a set of PL offset values.

[0204] In some embodiments, the set of PL offset values may be associated with a set of TCI states or PL RSs, and the MAC CE may comprise a set of first values applied to the set of TCI states or PL RSs. In some embodiments, a PL offset value in the set of PL offset values is replaced with a first value. In some embodiments, a first value is accumulated to a PL offset value in the set of PL offset values.

[0205] In some embodiments, the network device 120 may transmit, to the terminal device 110, a configuration of a threshold value for an updated PL offset value.

[0206] At block 420, the network device 120 may transmit a set of TPC commands to the  terminal device 110. The MAC CE and the set of TPC commands are used by the terminal device 110 for determination of a power control factor for power control of an UL transmission.

[0207] In some embodiments, the power control factor may comprise one of the following: a PUSCH power control adjustment state for an active uplink bandwidth of a carrier of a serving cell in a PUSCH transmission occasion; a PUCCH power control adjustment state for an active uplink bandwidth of a carrier of a primary cell in a PUCCH transmission occasion; or a SRS power control adjustment state for an active uplink bandwidth of a carrier of a serving cell in a SRS transmission occasion.

[0208] In some embodiments, the network device 120 may receive a PHR. The PHR is transmitted by the terminal device 110 based on at least one of the following: the MAC CE indicates that a variation of a PL offset value in the set of PL offset values is larger than a first threshold; the terminal device 110 determines that a variation of a PL offset value in the set of PL offset values is larger than a second threshold; the terminal device 110 determines that a variation of a PL value is larger than a third threshold; or the PHR is based on a reference SRS transmission and the SRS transmission corresponds to a SRS resource set associated with a TCI state configured with a PL offset value.
