Abstract

A candle holder having a top opening for receiving a plurality of candles in a range of diameters. The candle holder possesses an inner wall and an outer wall, the inner wall further comprises at least one indent that includes at least a first indent able to engage the bottom of a candle and support a first range of candle diameters. The first indent forms an opening able to accommodate passing a second range of candle diameters through and past the first indent to rest against a bottom surface, and the first range of candle diameters is larger than the second range of candle diameters.

[0001] Present candle holders generally are sized to receive one size of candles. While different size candles may be accommodated, there is a very limited range of sizes that can be used. Too small, and there is an unacceptable risk of the candle falling out of the oversize holder. Desired aesthetics can also be impossible to achieve.

[0002] There is a need for increased flexibility in candle holders to accommodate a larger range of candle sizes.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONS

[0003] Some, but not all, embodiments of the inventions as illustrated have an interior region for receiving a candle. The interior region of the candle holder will have at least two indented regions within the interior region. The size of the indented regions differ so that different sized candles can be placed within the candle holder. A first indented region can be positioned at a lower portion of the interior region than the second indented region. The first indented region and second indented region can both extend in the circular direction. The first indented region extends outwardly more than the second indented region. The first indented region therefore can hold a larger candle than the second indented region. As such, depending on the desire of the user, if the user wanted to use a smaller and narrower candle, the user would place a smaller and narrower candle onto the first indented region within the candle holder and extend into thesecond indented region. If the user wanted to use a wider and bigger candle, the user can use the bigger candle that would rest on the second indented region. The interior of the candle holder is set up to enable different sized candles to thereby be placed into the candle holder.

[0004] In some, but not all, innovative exemplary embodiments, an exterior portion of the holder can be configured to receive a decorative element. A user can decide to put wrapping paper or decorations on the exterior of the candle holder. As such, the exterior portion includes a vertical raised guide that extends vertically on the outside portion of the candle holder. A user may desire to place an outside wrapping paper or decoration around the circumference of the exterior portion of the candle holder. The vertical raised guide can securely hold the wrapping paper or decoration around the exterior of the candle holder. As such, the user can place the wrapping paper or decoration around the candle holder and tuck the edges of the wrapping paper or decoration into the raised guide. The raised guide can securely hold the wrapping paper or decoration in place. As such, any aesthetic appeal that is desired by the user on the exterior of the candle holder can occur since the guide can securely hold any wrapping paper or decoration in place on the exterior of the candle holder.

[0005] In some, but not all, innovative exemplary embodiments, different sized candles can be grouped together in a decorative arrangement. The user can decide to put several different sized candle holders with different sized candles on display. The user can place the appropriately sized candle into the appropriate candle holder. As such, candles of various sizes can be used. One candle holder can be longer to accommodate a long candle. Another candle holder can be shorter and be configured to carry a wider candle. Still another candle holder can be medium sized, and carry a medium sized candle. Each candle holder can vary in length and width according to the preference of the user. The user can configure each candle holder with the multiple indents on the inside of the candle holder. Further, each candle holder can have the raised guide to facilitate inserting any wrapping paper or design on the exterior of the candle holder. The size of each candle holder can vary to accommodate a long and narrow candle, a short and wide candle, or a medium sized candle. The user can set the aesthetics of the outside of the candle holder, and also size the candle holder to hold the size of the candle which the user desires.

[0022] Figure 1 shows a perspective top view of a candle holder in an embodiment of the inventions. Figure 1 depicts a candle holder body 100 having an exterior wall 105 and an interior wall 110. The exterior wall 105 and interior wall 110 can include a slotted top lip 115 or rim and a slotted bottom lip 130 or rim. Further, the slotted top lip 1 15 can extend outward from the walls 105 and 110 as well as the slotted bottom lip 130. These slotted lips 115 and 130 can further include a top notch 131 and a bottom notch 132, which can receive a decorative paper, plastic, or thin, flexible metal element that can fit into the slotted lips 115 and 130 andslide to wrap around the exterior wall 130. A raised guide 106 can facilitate sliding the decorative paper, plastic, or thin, flexible metal element into slotted lip 115 and 130.

However, the first indent 120 can instead consist of three or more extensions extending from the interior wall 110 to engage the bottom surface of and to support a candle. This first indent 120 can further include an interior edge 121 with a sloping wall 125 that slopes outward from the interior edge 121 toward a solid bottom (not shown). This arrangement can form a first diameter equal to the overall width of the candle holder and a smaller diameter equal to a circular aperture formed by the first circular indent 120. The first circular indent 120 can include an open disk or ring inserted into the candle holder and glued or otherwise secured to the interior wall 110. Alternatively, the first circular indent 120 can be structurally molded into the interior wall 110. Additionally, the wall 125 can be configured as straight wall 125.

Figure 2 depicts a candle holder body 200 having an exterior wall 205 and can include a slotted top lip 215 and a slotted bottom lip 230. These slotted lips 215 and 230 can further include a top notch 231 and a bottom notch 232, which can receive a decorative paper, plastic, or thin, flexible metal element that can fit into the slotted lips 215 and 230. This decorative element can be can take the form of a sheet inserted into the slots 815 and 830 to wrap around the exterior wall 805. A raised guide 806 can facilitate sliding the decorative paper, plastic, or thin, flexible metal element into slotted lip 815 and 830.

The candles can be made in varying sizes with each accommodating different sizes of candles. Further, the candle holders can be fitted with differing complimentary exterior wrappings fitted into the slotted lips.

CLAIMS:

1. A candle holder, comprised of: a candle holder having a top opening for receiving a plurality of candles in a range of diameters and heights; the candle holder possessing an inner wall and an outer wall, the inner wall further comprising at least one indent, the at least one indent including a first indent able to engage the bottom of a candle and support a first range of candle diameters; the first indent forming an opening able to accommodate passing a second range of candle diameters through and past the first indent to rest against a bottom surface; wherein the first range of candle diameters is larger than the second range of candle diameters and heights.

The candle holder of Claim 1, further comprising the first indent formed as a disk with a central aperture having an edge around the aperture and a sloping wall extending therefrom outward toward the inner wall and bottom of the candle to form a chamber underneath the first indent terminating at the bottom surface.

The candle holder of Claim 1, further comprising:: an exterior slotted lip at a top rim of the candle holder surrounding the top opening for receiving a plurality of candle diameters and a corresponding opposite exterior slotted lip at a bottom rim of the candle holder; and the two slotted lips including notches for receiving a decorative element to slide into the two slotted lips and wrap around the candle holder with a raised guide facilitating inserting the decorative element onto the outer wall of the candle holder.

4. The candle holder of Claim 1, wherein the first indent comprises at least one structure molded into the interior wall.

5. The candle holder of Claim 1, wherein the first indent comprises at least one structure attached to the interior wall.

6. The candle holder of Claim 1, wherein a threaded bottom aperture is configured to receive a threaded cap to seal the threaded bottom aperture.

7. The candle holder of Claim 1, further comprising candle heights of between three inches to seven inches.

A candle holder for a range of candle sizes, comprised of: a candle holder having a top opening for receiving a plurality of candles in a range of diameters; the candle holder possessing an inner wall and an outer wall, the inner wall further comprising an indent, the indent forming a ring able to engage with a bottom of a candle and support a first range of candle diameters; the ring having a central opening with a diameter able to accommodate passing a second range of candle diameters through and past the indent to rest against a bottom surface underneath the indent in a chamber underneath the indent; wherein the first range of candle diameters is larger than the second range of candle diameters.

9. The candle holder for a range of candle sizes of Claim 8, further comprising multiple indents with each accommodating a plurality of ranges of candle diameters.

The candle holder for a range of candle sizes of Claim 8, further comprising:: an exterior slotted rim at a top of the candle surrounding the top opening for receiving a plurality of candle diameters and a corresponding opposite exterior slotted rim at a bottom of the candle holder; and the two slotted rims including notches for receiving a decorative sheet to slide into the two slotted rims and wrap around the candle holder with a raised guide facilitating inserting the decorative element onto the outer wall of the candle holder.

11. The candle holder for a range of candle sizes of Claim 8, further comprises the indent formed by at least one structure molded into the interior wall.

12. The candle holder for a range of candle sizes of Claim 8, further comprises the indent formed by at least one structure attached to the interior wall.

13. The candle holder for a range of candle sizes of Claim 8, further comprises a rubber disk with a smooth rim sized to friction fit in a bottom aperture configured to receive the rubber disk.

A candle holder able to accommodate multiple candle diameters and heights, comprised of: a candle holder having a top opening with a rim for receiving a plurality of candles in a range of diameters; the candle holder possessing an inner wall and an outer wall, the inner wall further comprising an indent, the indent comprising a ring having a first diameter able to engage the bottom of a candle and support a first range of larger candle diameters; the indent accommodating a second range of smaller candle diameters that can fit past the indent and rest against a bottom surface of a chamber formed under the indent; wherein the candle holder can safely accommodate a plurality of candle diameters making up the first range of larger candle diameters and the second range of smaller candle diameters.

15. The candle holder able to accommodate multiple candle diameters and heights of Claim 14, wherein the indent further comprises a disk having an edge with a straight wall extending downward toward a bottom opening of the candle holder forming a chamber underneath the indent.

The candle holder able to accommodate multiple candle diameters and heights of Claim 14, further comprising: an exterior slotted lip at a top of the candle surrounding the top opening for receiving a plurality of candle diameters and a corresponding opposite exterior slotted lip at a bottom of the candle holder; and the two slotted lips including notches for receiving a decorative element to slide into the two slotted lips and wrap around the candle holder with a raised guide facilitating inserting the decorative element onto the outer wall of the candle holder.

17. The candle holder able to accommodate multiple candle diameters and heights of Claim 14, wherein the indent comprises at least one structure molded into the interior wall.

18. The candle holder able to accommodate multiple candle diameters and heights of Claim14, wherein the indent comprises at least one structure attached to the interior wall.

19. The candle holder able to accommodate multiple candle diameters and heights of Claim14, further comprising a threaded bottom aperture configured to receive a threaded cap.

20. The candle holder able to accommodate multiple candle diameters and heights of Claim14, wherein the candle holder has a height of between three inches to seven inches.
