[0005] As is well known, conventional bicycle saddles have soft, flexible padding on the surface, which makes the saddle more comfortable; however, this comfort is only effective in the buttocks area, where only a small portion of them comes into contact with the saddle due to its limited width. The pelvic area, which is also in contact with the saddle, is greatly affected, since it supports part of the cyclist's weight, without the padding helping to prevent subsequent injuries.
[0006] Other negative consequences of using a conventional saddle include irritation in the genital area, in both men and women.
[0007] Studies have linked prostate problems, erectile dysfunction, and urinary problems in men to the use of conventional bicycle saddles. They have also linked vulvar laxity, candidiasis, urinary problems, and impaired blood flow to the genital area in women.
