Abstract
The present invention relates to a composite material (1) designed for the production of furniture elements with good fire resistance, such as a storage cabinet or storage trolley, in particular for an aircraft passenger compartment. This composite material (1) is in the form of a panel (5) of the honeycomb cardboard structure type, comprising: - a honeycomb central core (51) made of paper; - an outer coating layer (52) made of paper, an outer face (522) of which is intended to be oriented towards an exposed face (2) of the composite material (1), that is to say intended to be oriented towards the aircraft passenger compartment and first subjected to the risk of fire; and - an inner coating layer (53) made of paper. According to the invention, at least the outer face (522) of the outer coating layer (52) made of paper is coated, directly or indirectly, with a layer (7) of vinyl intumescent paint.
