Abstract
Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to the determination of the reference reference signal (RS). In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) receives, from a base station, an RS for determining a first reference RS on one or more measurement resources before performing a random access process. The one or more measurement resources are associated with one or more first reference RSs, and the one or more measurement resources are comprised in a measurement resource set associated with a second reference RS. Based on one or more measurements of the RS on the one or more measurement resources, the UE determines the first reference RS from the one or more first reference RSs for the random access process, a downlink reception or an uplink transmission.
