Abstract
A method for testing the fatigue life of a static seal in a high-pressure and low-temperature environment. The method comprises the following steps: step 1, subjecting a seal to pressure relief tests under different temperatures and different pressures; step 2, performing a temperature-variable pressure test; step 3, replacing the seal and performing a first impulse pressure test under a temperature rise; step 4, performing an impulse pressure test under a temperature drop; step 5, performing a second impulse pressure test under a temperature rise; step 6, performing an impulse pressure test at a low temperature; and step 7, determining the low-temperature performance of the seal before and after the tests. Each of steps 1-6 includes a step of continuously monitoring pressure relief while monitoring the ambient temperature and the actual temperature of a pulsed liquid. If pressure relief occurs in any of the steps during monitoring, the test is terminated and subsequent steps are not implemented. By means of the method, the evaluation of the fatigue life of seals can be implemented in low-temperature environments, thereby meeting the reliability requirement of large-scale complete machines.
