AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing communication systems for emergency response teams rely heavily on manual channel monitoring by dispatchers, which is time-consuming and prone to missing critical events due to information overload, especially in complex situations involving multiple teams.

Method used

An audio signal processing system using neural networks to analyze multiple communication channels in real-time, identifying critical situations and alerting dispatchers through a monitoring console, with a self-learning capability to adapt to dispatcher preferences and environments.

🎯Benefits of technology

Enhances dispatcher monitoring capacity, reducing the risk of missing emergencies and improving intervention responsiveness by efficiently prioritizing critical channels.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method and system for determining emergency situations based on audio signals received from a set of transmission channels used by a set of intervention teams, the method and system comprising at least the implementation of the following steps: - acquiring (S01) an audio signal from a current transmission channel from among the set of transmission channels; - processing (S02) the audio signal, comprising: carrying out sampling at a predetermined frequency; segmenting the sampled signal according to a predetermined interval, delivering a sequence of audio segments; and, for each audio segment, extracting spectral features, delivering a sequence of segments of spectral features; - determining (S03) a first datum representative of an emergency situation on the current transmission channel on the basis of the sequence of segments of spectral features of the audio signal.
