AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing methods for suppressing springback in press-formed products, particularly torsional springback, are ineffective as they do not accurately identify the stress-generating areas causing twisting, leading to difficulties in implementing targeted countermeasures.

Method used

A method and device for evaluating torsion in press-formed products by setting multiple cross-sections, calculating moments, and determining torsional moment evaluation indices, allowing for the identification of stress-generating areas and subsequent adjustment of press-forming conditions to suppress torsion.

🎯Benefits of technology

Enables precise evaluation and suppression of torsional springback, reducing the time required to determine optimal press-forming conditions and improving dimensional accuracy of integrated automotive parts.

Abstract

A method for evaluating the twist of a press-molded article according to the present invention is for evaluating the twist due to springback of a press-molded article 10, and includes: setting a plurality of vertical cross sections at intervals of 1 mm or more along the longitudinal direction of the pre-springback press-molded article 10 (S1); deeming one of the plurality of cross sections that have been set to be an evaluation cross section and the other cross sections to be action cross sections, acquiring the stress and a stress action position with respect to each of the action cross sections, and calculating the moment in a direction of twisting the evaluation cross section acting from each of the action cross sections (S3); adding the moments calculated with respect to the action cross sections to calculating a torsion moment evaluation index for the evaluation cross section (S5); and obtaining the torsion moment evaluation index upon deeming all or some of the plurality of cross sections to be the evaluation cross sections, and evaluating the twist of the press-molded article due to springback (S7).
