Description
[0001] DESCRIPTION
[0002] MULTIFUNCTIONAL MOBILE SITZ BATH TUB
[0003] Technical Field
[0004] The invention relates to a sitz bath tub which provides both immersion and spraying mechanisms with a shower function. The sitz bath tub that is the subject of the invention increases the comfort of patients who require sitz baths before and after anorectal, urological and gynaecological surgery. This tub, which is compatible with toilets, comprises an adjustable height provided by means of a locking mechanism, an apparatus enabling water to be sprayed from multiple points, a stopper providing the storage and discharge of water, and a flexible foldable tub body and a foldable seat. In addition, the tub body is made of a soft material such as silicone, conforms fully to the toilet, exhibits flexibility against the bidet nozzle and reduces the risk of breakage.
[0005] State of the Art
[0006] A sitz bath is a special tub or apparatus system generally used in a sitting position, designed to bring the pelvic and genital region into contact with warm or cold water. This application is a simple and effective method used with the aim of providing hygiene, relaxation and therapeutic effects. The temperature of the water and the medical or herbal additives used may be customised depending on the condition to be treated. The sitz bath may be performed by immersion or by a shower method. Immersion refers to the application in which only the pelvic region of the individual is brought into contact with water. The shower method refers to the application in which water is sprayed onto the anal region at different pressures and widths by using a shower nozzle. In the immersion method, sitz bath tubs and, especially in home settings, basins may be used. A sitz bath tub is plastic in structure and may be designed solely for sitting, or may be configured to be integrated with a toilet or a chair. A sitz bath tub integrated with a toilet provides, in addition to the immersion feature, a shower function by means of different water-spraying mechanisms located inside it.
[0007] The sitz bath is widely used before and after anorectal, urological and gynaecological surgery, and contributes to the alleviation of symptoms such as wound healing and pain. Especially during periods when haemorrhoidal diseases flare up and after defecation, applying a sitz bath helps to relieve irritation in the patient’s anal region and to reduce pain. The sitz bath, one of the traditional treatment methods that provides relaxation in the anal region by means of water at different temperatures and pressures, may be applied as a hot or cold sitz bath; however, due to the fact that cold water may cause spasm in the anal muscles, the hot sitz bath is generally preferred. By means of the effect of hot water, the internal sphincters relax, providing comfort, and the blood flow to the anal region increases, supporting wound healing.
[0008] The difficulties encountered in the use of sitz bath tubs undermine the benefits that the individual may obtain from the sitz bath. One of the mentioned difficulties is that sitz bath tubs placed inside the toilet are not flexible by their structural nature. Because sitz bath tubs are not flexible, the protrusion created by the bidet nozzle in toilets exerts pressure on the tub, preventing it from fitting fully onto the toilet, and since the plastic structure lacks an axis, the protrusion created by the bidet nozzle causes the tub to break more easily. Moreover, the lack of flexibility of the sitz bath tub prevents particularly overweight individuals from fully immersing their hips in the water, thus reducing the effectiveness of the sitz bath. In addition, manual water-spraying mechanisms such as IV sets and pump sets are not practical because they require effort from the individual, constitute a tiring process and provide an insufficient volume of sprayed water. Especially in situations where hot shower treatment is preferred instead of the sitz bath, they hinder the performance of a comfortable shower treatment for the required effective duration (15-20 minutes). Although electric sitz bath tubs provide ease of use with their digital operation, they offer limited usability because they spray water at a single point and fixed height with a single button and do not allow the water distance to be adjusted gradually according to the individual. Sitz bath tubs designed as chairs with legs or wheels are not portable because they occupy too much space and do not have a foldable feature.
[0009] The limitations and inadequacies of the existing solutions, such as the fact that the sitz bath tubs used cannot be used in toilets with a bidet nozzle due to lack of flexibility, that they are difficult for overweight individuals to use, that manual water-spraying mechanisms are cumbersome to operate, that they offer limited usability because the water distance cannot be adjusted according to the individual, and that they are not portable, have necessitated the development of a sitz bath tub. Brief Description and Aims of the Invention
[0010] The invention relates to a sitz bath tub that provides both immersion and spraying mechanisms with a shower function, compatible with toilets. The tub, which aims to increase the comfort of patients who require sitz baths before and after anorectal, urological and gynaecological surgery, consists of adjustable height, a multi-point water-spraying apparatus, a water-storage and discharge stopper, a flexible foldable silicone body and a foldable seat.
[0011] One aim of the invention is to obtain a sitz bath tub that has a wider application area. The flexible structure of the tub body used in the invention ensures usability in toilets with a bidet nozzle. In addition, the sitz bath tub that is the subject of the invention provides the possibility of use both on a toilet and on a foldable seat.
[0012] Another aim of the invention is to obtain a user-friendly sitz bath tub. The fact that the patient can perform both immersion and hot shower applications with a single device provides convenience in the sitz bath application and, by preventing errors arising from individual use, offers a more accurate usage possibility. In addition, the flexible tub body makes it easier for overweight individuals to immerse the hip region in water. Moreover, the shower-compatible shower hose inlet section eliminates the cumbersome use of a manual pump.
[0013] In addition, the invention aims to obtain a portable sitz bath tub. By means of the foldable seat having a foldable feature, the sitz bath tub that is the subject of the invention occupies less space and thus a more portable structure is obtained.

[0022] Detailed Description of the Invention
[0023] The invention relates to a multifunctional mobile sitz bath tub that fully fits onto toilets, provides both immersion and a shower function by means of a spraying apparatus, and with its modular structure may also be used outside of the toilet. A multifunctional mobile sitz bath tub that is the subject of the invention comprises: a. a sitz bath tub (1 ) manufactured from flexible silicone, the internal volume of which may be adjusted gradually by means of a locking mechanism (2), positioned in the toilet cavity or on the structure of the foldable seat (6), and in which the user positions the hips, b. a locking mechanism (2) configured to adjust the internal volume of the tub body (1 ) gradually, c. a shower hose inlet section (3) integrated with the water-spraying apparatus (4), configured to provide the inflow of water into the tub body (1 ) both from tap batteries and from a shower head, d. a water-spraying apparatus (4) positioned at the bottom part of the tub body (1 ), configured to provide the spraying of water from multiple points during the shower application, e. a stopper (5) positioned at the bottom part of the tub body (1 ), configured to discharge the water accumulated in the tub body (1 ), AND f. a foldable seat (6) on which the tub body (1 ) is positioned.
[0024] Since the tub body (1 ) is manufactured from a soft material such as silicone, it may be flexible against the protrusion formed by the bidet nozzle when placed on the toilet, which prevents the tub body (1 ) or the bidet nozzle from breaking. When the patient performs the immersion application, the patient first uses the locking mechanism (2) of the tub body (1 ) to bring the tub body (1 ) into a single stage, fills the tub body (1 ) with water and closes the stopper (5) to allow the water to accumulate. After the procedure is completed, the patient opens the stopper (5) to discharge the water. When the patient performs the hot shower application, the patient uses the locking mechanism (2) of the tub body (1 ) to bring the sitz bath tub into the second stage in order to create the space that allows water spraying. The patient may obtain the hot water required for the hot shower application from the tap batteries or from the shower head at home and may provide the connection by using the shower hose with the shower hose inlet section (3). Then, after opening the tap and adjusting the temperature of the water, the patient may adjust the water flow rate by means of the water-spraying apparatus (4) located on the shower hose inlet section (3). During the procedure, the stopper (5) is lifted to provide water discharge. After the procedure is completed, the tub body (1 ) is removed and the foldable seat (6), which allows the tub body (1 ) to be used in a mobile manner, is folded inward for storage.
