The method includes: recording use frequency of the gesture function in each unit time of a preset cycle, wherein the preset cycle includes at least one unit time, and the gesture function includes a function of carrying out starting through a target touch operation detected on a touch screen; acquiring the numberof first target unit times, wherein use frequency of the gesture function in a first target unit time is less than or equal to a first preset threshold value; and closing the gesture function if the number of the first target unit times is greater than or equal to a second preset threshold value. According to the control method of the gesture function provided by the invention, a gesture functionwhich a user does not need to use can be determined according to use frequency of the gesture function in the preset cycle, the gesture function which the user does not need to use can be closed, andvalid use times of touch screens of the mobile terminals can be prolonged.
