Abstract

Methods, apparatuses, and systems for compressing and decompressing an index stream associated with a graphics primitive are disclosed. A set of delta values is determined based on a set of indices in the index stream. The set of delta values is compared to delta values in a lookup table. If the set of delta values matches all of the delta values in an entry in the lookup table, the set of indices is compressed based on the entry, otherwise the set of indices is compressed based on variable length encoding.
