Abstract
A driver assistance system in a motor vehicle with an electronically controlled braking system and with a control unit assigned to this braking system, which is connected to a control element also assigned to the braking system, by which, upon appropriate actuation of the control element, an automatic braking function in the form of normal braking can be initiated by means of the electronically controlled braking system independently of the actuation of the brake pedal, characterized in that the control unit is designed in such a way that, upon continuous actuation of the control element for a predetermined minimum duration, an emergency braking function can be initiated.
