Abstract

The present invention relates to a machine (2) for the tobacco processing industry, a method for manufacturing a paper filter, and the use of the machine (2). The machine (2) comprises, arranged one behind the other in the material flow direction, a flat web providing device (8), a flat web structuring device (12), a flat web preforming device (26), and a rod forming device (28). A conveying roll (24) is arranged between the flat web structuring device (12) and the flat web preforming device (26), and a coating device (18) is arranged between the flat web structuring device (12) and the flat web preforming device (26). The coating device (18) is designed to apply an additional material (22) to at least the upper surface (20) of the flat web (4), and the coating device (18) has a wide slit nozzle (94) for applying the additional material (22).
