Abstract

This invention consists of reproducing the main movements of the natural knee: Flexion / Extension (F / E) and the Anterior / Posterior (A / P) gliding movement under a static load while using servo drives, servo motors, sensors, a linear displacement table based on ball screws, a data acquisition card, a microcomputer, a communication bus and control software. This test bench makes it possible to quantify the friction and wear of a knee prosthesis in order to discover a new material for the tibial insert for the manufacture of knee prostheses allowing for a satisfactory lifespan and postponing the second surgical intervention.
