AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Manual production of RF filters requires significant skill and labor, leading to varying product quality and rising labor costs, and existing automated systems require separate motors for screw and nut drivers, complicating the process.

Method used

An RF filter tuning device and method using a single motor to control both a tuning screw driver and a nut driver, allowing for synchronized operation through a main gear that can engage with either a screw gear or a nut gear, with a spring to minimize torque and prevent damage during alignment.

Benefits of technology

Reduces production costs and improves product consistency by enabling efficient, automated tuning of RF filters using a single motor, minimizing labor dependency and maintaining product quality.

Abstract

The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for tuning an RF filter by using a single motor, which include a tuning screw driver for tightening a tuning screw and a nut driver for tightening a nut, in an RF filter, to control the screw and the nut with a single motor, and control the tuning screw driver and the nut driver of the RF filter with a time difference, and thus can reduce production costs. The apparatus for tuning an RF filter by using a single motor of the present invention includes: the single motor; a main gear fixed to an end of the single motor; a screw gear provided to be engaged with the main gear; a screw driver provided at the lower center of the screw gear to rotate; a nut gear provided to be engaged with the main gear; and a nut driver provided at the lower center of the nut gear to rotate.
