Abstract

The invention relates to a method, an installation body (11), and a device for detecting specks in a polymer melt stream. The device comprises an installation body (11) with a central section (13) that has an axial, partially transparent melt channel (15). Two opposing viewing windows (25) integrated into the melt channel (15) allow the polymer melt stream to be illuminated from one side by a light source (93) and examined for the presence of specks from the other side using a camera (87).
