Abstract

A hinge joint for eyeglasses is described, comprising a joint body (4) forming a hinge axis and designed in its basic form as a body of revolution, and a bearing fork (3) provided on a temple arm (2), which engages in a circumferential groove (5) of the joint body (4) coaxial with the hinge axis. The end face of the joint body (4) is positively locked between two parallel legs (9) of a temple arm (6) that are connected at their ends. To simplify the design, it is proposed that the joint body (4) be radially extended on its circumferential side facing the outside of the temple arm to form two rectangular projections (8) in which receiving grooves (7) for the legs (9) of the temple arm (6) are formed. Furthermore, the projections (8) are designed to be elastically bendable about axes parallel to the grooves, allowing the legs (9) to engage radially with each other in a snap-lock-like manner in the receiving grooves (7).
