Urinary catheter system with enhanced retention and drainage mechanisms

Abstract

present invention discloses a urinary catheter system (100) comprising a catheter tube (111) with a rounded or oval catheter tip (101), a catheter stem (104) with thin-walled construction and wide internal lumen, drainage eyes / opening (102) positioned very low near the bladder neck, and securing means (103) configured to retain the catheter within a patient's urinary tract. The securing means (103) may comprise internal retention means like disc-shaped retention balloons, external fixation elements including adhesive pads (203, 302), or external collection elements including condom-type configurations (401). The drainage eyes (102) have rounded or oval configuration with smooth margins that are wider towards the lumen to prevent encrustation and blockage. The system provides complete emptying of the bladder with minimal residual urine accumulation, thereby reducing complications associated with urinary tract infections. Ref. Figure 1
