Abstract
Description
[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
[0002] This application claims priority to International Patent Application No. PCT / CN2019 / 074851, filed on February 12, 2019, entitled “DYNAMIC PHYSICAL UPLINK SHAREDCHANNEL CONFIGURATION”, which is hereby expressly incorporated herein by reference. Technical Field
[0003] Aspects of the present disclosure relate generally to wireless communications, and more particularly to techniques and apparatus for dynamic physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) configuration. Background Art
[0004] Wireless communication systems are widely deployed to provide various telecommunication services, such as telephony, video, data, messaging, and broadcasting. Typical wireless communication systems may employ multiple access technologies capable of supporting communication with multiple users by sharing available system resources (e.g., bandwidth, transmit power, etc.). Examples of such multiple access technologies include code division multiple access (CDMA) systems, time division multiple access (TDMA) systems, frequency division multiple access (FDMA) systems, orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) systems, single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) systems, time division synchronous code division multiple access (TD-SCDMA) systems, and long term evolution (LTE). LTE / LTE-Advanced is a set of enhancements to the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) mobile standard promulgated by the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP).
[0005] A wireless communication network may include multiple base stations (BS) that may support communication of multiple user equipments (UEs). User equipments (UEs) may communicate with base stations (BSs) via downlinks and uplinks. A downlink (or forward link) refers to a communication link from a BS to a UE, and an uplink (or reverse link) refers to a communication link from a UE to a BS. As will be described in more detail herein, a BS may be referred to as a Node B, gNB, access point (AP), radio head, transmit receive point (TRP), new radio (NR) BS, 5G Node B, etc.
[0006] The above-mentioned multiple access technologies have been adopted by various telecommunication standards to provide a common protocol that enables different user equipment to communicate at the municipal, national, regional and even global levels. New Radio (NR), also known as 5G, is a set of enhancements to the LTE mobile standard promulgated by the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP). NR is designed to better support mobile broadband Internet access by improving spectrum efficiency, reducing costs, improving services, utilizing new spectrum, and using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) (CP-OFDM) with cyclic prefix (CP) on the downlink (DL), using CP-OFDM and / or SC-FDM (e.g., also known as discrete Fourier transform spread OFDM (DFT-s-OFDM)) on the uplink (UL), and supporting beamforming, multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna technology and carrier aggregation. However, with the increasing demand for mobile broadband access, there is a demand for further improvements in LTE and NR technologies. Preferably, these improvements should be applicable to other multiple access technologies and telecommunication standards that adopt these technologies. Summary of the invention

In addition, the scope of the present disclosure is intended to cover such a device or method, which is practiced using other structures, functions, or structures and functions other than or different from the various aspects set forth herein. It should be understood that any aspect of the disclosure disclosed herein may be embodied by one or more components of the claims.
[0041] Several aspects of telecommunication systems will now be presented with reference to various devices and techniques. These devices and techniques will be described in the following detailed description and illustrated in the accompanying drawings by various blocks, modules, components, circuits, steps, processes, algorithms, etc. (collectively referred to as "components"). These components can be implemented using hardware, software, or a combination thereof. Whether these components are implemented as hardware or software depends on the specific application and the design constraints imposed on the overall system.
[0042] It should be noted that although various aspects may be described herein using terminology generally associated with 3G and / or 4G wireless technologies, aspects of the present disclosure may be applied to other generation-based communication systems, such as 5G and beyond including NR technology.
[0043] Figure 1is a diagram showing a wireless network 100 in which various aspects of the present disclosure may be practiced. The wireless network 100 may be an LTE network or some other wireless network such as a 5G or NR network. The wireless network 100 may include a plurality of BSs 110 (shown as BS 110a, BS 110b, BS 110c, and BS 110d) and other network entities. A BS is an entity that communicates with a user equipment (UE) and may also be referred to as a base station, NR BS, Node B, gNB, 5G Node B (NB), access point, transmit receive point (TRP), etc. Each BS may provide communication coverage for a specific geographic area. In 3GPP, the term "cell" may refer to a coverage area of a BS and / or a BS subsystem serving the coverage area, depending on the context in which the term is used.
[0044] A BS may provide communication coverage for a macro cell, a pico cell, a femto cell, and / or another type of cell. A macro cell may cover a relatively large geographic area (e.g., a radius of several kilometers) and may allow unrestricted access to UEs with service subscriptions. A pico cell may cover a relatively small geographic area and may allow unrestricted access to UEs with service subscriptions. A femto cell may cover a relatively small geographic area (e.g., a home) and may allow restricted access to UEs associated with the femto cell (e.g., UEs in a closed subscriber group (CSG)). A BS for a macro cell may be referred to as a macro BS. A BS for a pico cell may be referred to as a pico BS. A BS for a femto cell may be referred to as a femto BS or a home BS. In Figure 1 In the example shown, BS 110a may be a macro BS for macro cell 102a, BS 110b may be a pico BS for pico cell 102b, and BS 110c may be a femto BS 102c for a femto cell. A BS may support one or more (e.g., three) cells. The terms "eNB", "base station", "NR BS", "gNB", "TRP", "AP", "Node B", "5G NB", and "cell" may be used interchangeably herein.
[0045] In some aspects, the cell may not necessarily be stationary, and the geographic area of the cell may move depending on the location of the mobile BS. In some aspects, the BSs may be connected to each other and / or to one or more other BSs or network nodes in the wireless network 100 via various types of backhaul interfaces (such as direct physical connections, virtual networks, the like using any suitable transport network, etc.).
[0046] The wireless network 100 may also include a relay station. A relay station is an entity that can receive data transmissions from an upstream station (e.g., a BS or a UE) and send data transmissions to a downstream station (e.g., a UE or a BS). A relay station may also be a UE that can relay transmissions for other UEs. Figure 1 In the example shown, a relay station 110d may communicate with a macro BS 110a and a UE 120d to facilitate communication between the BS 110a and the UE 120d. A relay station may also be referred to as a relay BS, a relay base station, a relay, or the like.
[0047] The wireless network 100 may be a heterogeneous network including different types of BSs, such as macro BSs, pico BSs, femto BSs, relay BSs, etc. These different types of BSs may have different transmit power levels, different coverage areas, and different effects on interference in the wireless network 100. For example, a macro BS may have a high transmit power level (e.g., 5 to 40 watts), while a pico BS, a femto BS, and a relay BS may have a lower transmit power level (e.g., 0.1 to 2 watts).
[0048] A network controller 130 may be coupled to a set of BSs and may provide coordination and control for these BSs. The network controller 130 may communicate with the BSs via a backhaul. The BSs may also communicate with each other directly or indirectly, for example, via a wireless or wired backhaul.
[0049] UE 120 (e.g., 120a, 120b, 120c) can be distributed throughout the wireless network 100, and each UE can be fixed or mobile. UE can also be referred to as an access terminal, terminal, mobile station, subscriber unit, station, etc. UE can be a cellular phone (e.g., a smart phone), a personal digital assistant (PDA), a wireless modem, a wireless communication device, a handheld device, a laptop computer, a cordless phone, a wireless local loop (WLL) station, a tablet computer, a camera, a gaming device, a netbook, a smartbook, an ultrabook, a medical device or device, a biometric sensor / device, a wearable device (smart watch, smart clothing, smart glasses, smart wristband, smart jewelry (e.g., smart ring, smart bracelet)), an entertainment device (e.g., a music or video device or a satellite radio), a vehicle-mounted component or sensor, a smart meter / sensor, an industrial manufacturing device, a global positioning system device, or any other suitable device configured to communicate via a wireless or wired medium.
[0050] Some UEs may be considered machine type communication (MTC) or evolved or enhanced machine type communication (eMTC) UEs. MTC and eMTC UEs include, for example, robots, drones, remote devices, sensors, meters, monitors, location tags, etc., which may communicate with a base station, another device (e.g., a remote device), or some other entity. For example, a wireless node may provide connectivity to or to a network (e.g., a wide area network such as the Internet or a cellular network) via a wired or wireless communication link. Some UEs may be considered Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and / or may be implemented as NB-IoT (narrowband Internet of Things) devices. Some UEs may be considered customer premises equipment (CPE). UE 120 may be included in a housing that houses components of UE 120 such as a processor component, a memory component, etc.
[0051] In general, any number of wireless networks can be deployed in a given geographic area. Each wireless network can support a specific RAT and can operate on one or more frequencies. RAT can also be referred to as radio technology, air interface, etc. Frequency can also be referred to as carrier, frequency channel, etc. Each frequency can support a single RAT in a given geographic area to avoid interference between wireless networks of different RATs. In some cases, NR or 5G RAT networks can be deployed.
[0052] In some aspects, two or more UEs 120 (e.g., shown as UE 120a and UE 120e) may communicate directly using one or more sidelink channels (e.g., without using base station 110 as an intermediary to communicate with each other). For example, UE 120 may use point-to-point (P2P) communication, device-to-device (D2D) communication, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) protocol (e.g., which may include vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) protocol, vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) protocol, etc.), mesh network, etc. In this case, UE 120 may perform scheduling operations, resource selection operations, and / or other operations performed by base station 110 as described elsewhere herein.
[0053] As mentioned above, providing Figure 1 As an example. Other examples may be related to Figure 1 The description is different.
[0054] Figure 2 A block diagram of a design 200 of a base station 110 and a UE 120 is shown, which may be Figure 1 Base station 110 may be equipped with T antennas 234a through 234t, and UE 120 may be equipped with R antennas 252a through 252r, where in general T≥1 and R≥1.
[0055] At the base station 110, the transmit processor 220 may receive data from a data source 212 for one or more UEs, select one or more modulation and coding schemes (MCS) for each UE based at least in part on a channel quality indicator (CQI) received from the UE, process (e.g., encode and modulate) data for each UE based at least in part on the MCS selected for the UE, and provide data symbols for all UEs. The transmit processor 220 may also process system information (e.g., semi-static resource partitioning information (SRPI), etc.) and control information (e.g., CQI requests, grants, upper layer signaling, etc.) and provide overhead symbols and control symbols. The transmit processor 220 may also generate reference symbols for reference signals (e.g., cell-specific reference signals (CRS)) and synchronization signals (e.g., primary synchronization signals (PSS) and secondary synchronization signals (SSS)). The transmit (TX) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) processor 230 may perform spatial processing (e.g., precoding) on data symbols, control symbols, overhead symbols, and / or reference symbols, if applicable, and may provide T output symbol streams to T modulators (MOD) 232a to 232t. Each modulator 232 may process a respective output symbol stream (e.g., OFDM, etc.) to obtain an output sample stream. Each modulator 232 may further process (e.g., convert to analog, amplify, filter, and up-convert) the output sample stream to obtain a downlink signal. The T downlink signals from modulators 232a to 232t may be transmitted via T antennas 234a to 234t, respectively. According to various aspects described in more detail below, position coding may be utilized to generate synchronization signals to convey additional information.
[0056] At the UE 120, antennas 252a to 252r may receive downlink signals from the base station 110 and / or other base stations and may provide received signals to demodulators (DEMODs) 254a to 254r, respectively. Each demodulator 254 may condition (e.g., filter, amplify, downconvert, and digitize) the received signal to obtain input samples. Each demodulator 254 may further process the input samples (e.g., OFDM, etc.) to obtain received symbols. The MIMO detector 256 may obtain received symbols from all R demodulators 254a to 254r, perform MIMO detection on the received symbols (if applicable), and provide detected symbols. The receive processor 258 may process (e.g., demodulate and decode) the detected symbols, provide decoded data for the UE 120 to the data sink 260, and provide decoded control information and system information to the controller / processor 280. The channel processor may determine reference signal received power (RSRP), received signal strength indicator (RSSI), reference signal received quality (RSRQ), channel quality indicator (CQI), etc. In some aspects, one or more components of UE 120 may be included in a housing.
[0057] On the uplink, at the UE 120, a transmit processor 264 may receive and process data from a data source 262 and control information (e.g., including reports of RSRP, RSSI, RSRQ, CQI, etc.) from a controller / processor 280. The transmit processor 264 may also generate reference symbols for one or more reference signals. The symbols from the transmit processor 264 may be precoded by a TX MIMO processor 266 (if applicable), further processed by modulators 254a through 254r (e.g., DFT-s-OFDM, CP-OFDM, etc.), and transmitted to the base station 110. At the base station 110, uplink signals from the UE 120 and other UEs may be received by the antenna 234, processed by the demodulator 232, detected by the MIMO detector 236 (if applicable), and further processed by the receive processor 238 to obtain decoded data and control information transmitted by the UE 120. The receive processor 238 may provide decoded data to a data sink 239 and provide decoded control information to a controller / processor 240. The base station 110 may include a communication unit 244 and communicate with the network controller 130 via the communication unit 244. The network controller 130 may include a communication unit 294, a controller / processor 290, and a memory 292.
[0058] As described in more detail elsewhere herein, the controller / processor 240 of the base station 110, the controller / processor 280 of the UE 120, and / or Figure 2 Any other component of the base station 110 may perform one or more techniques associated with dynamic physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) configuration. For example, the controller / processor 240 of the base station 110, the controller / processor 280 of the UE 120, and / or Figure 2 Any other component of the can perform or direct e.g. Fig.10 The process of 1000 Fig.11 Process 1100, Fig.12 The process 1200 Fig.13 The operations of process 1300 and / or other processes described herein may be performed. [0059] In some aspects, UE 120 may include a component for receiving a first signaling communication from BS 110 configuring multiple transmit precoder matrix indicator (TPMI) and sounding reference signal (SRS) resource indicator (SRI) pairs, wherein the multiple TPMI and SRI pairs will be used to send respective PUSCH communications to BS 110; a component for receiving a second signaling communication from BS 110 indicating an update to a TPMI and SRI pair among the multiple TPMI and SRI pairs; a component for sending a PUSCH communication in a respective PUSCH communication to BS 110 based at least in part on the update to the TPMI and SRI pairs, and the like. In some aspects, UE 120 may include components for receiving a first signaling communication from BS 110 configuring a first TPMI and SRI pair, wherein the first TPMI and SRI pair is to be used to send a plurality of PUSCH communications to BS 110; components for receiving a second signaling communication from BS 110 indicating a second TPMI and SRI pair; components for using the second TPMI and SRI pair and sending a subset of the plurality of PUSCH communications to BS 110, etc. In some aspects, such components may include a combination of Figure 2 One or more components of UE 120 are described.
[0060] In some aspects, the base station 110 may include components for sending a first signaling communication to the UE 120 that configures a plurality of TPMI and SRI pairs, wherein the plurality of TPMI and SRI pairs are to be used to send respective PUSCH communications to the BS; components for sending a second signaling communication to the UE 120 that indicates an update to a TPMI and SRI pair in the plurality of TPMI and SRI pairs; components for receiving a PUSCH communication in a corresponding PUSCH communication from the UE 120 based at least in part on the update to the TPMI and SRI pair, etc. In some aspects, the base station 110 may include components for sending a first signaling communication to the UE 120 that configures a first TPMI and SRI pair, wherein the first TPMI and SRI pair are to be used to send a plurality of PUSCH communications to the BS 110; components for receiving a subset of the plurality of PUSCH communications from the UE 120 based at least in part on a second TPMI and SRI pair, etc. In some aspects, such components may include components for combining Figure 2 One or more components of base station 110 are described.
[0061] As mentioned above, providing Figure 2 As an example. Other examples may be related to Figure 2 The description is different.
[0062] Figure 3AAn example frame structure 300 for frequency division duplex (FDD) in a telecommunication system (e.g., NR) is shown. The transmission timeline for each of the downlink and uplink may be divided into radio frame units (sometimes referred to as frames). Each radio frame may have a predetermined duration (e.g., 10 milliseconds (ms)) and may be divided into a set of Z (Z ≥ 1) subframes (e.g., indexed from 0 to Z-1). Each subframe may have a predetermined duration (e.g., 1 ms) and may include time slots (e.g., Figure 3A Each subframe 2 is shown in m time slots, where m is a numerology for transmission, such as 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.). Each time slot may include a set of L symbol periods. For example, each time slot may include fourteen symbol periods (e.g., Figure 3A In some aspects, the scheduling unit of FDD can be frame-based, subframe-based, slot-based, symbol-based, etc.
[0063] Although some techniques are described herein in conjunction with frames, subframes, time slots, etc., these techniques may be equally applicable to other types of wireless communication structures, which may be referred to using terms other than "frame," "subframe," "time slot," or similar terms in 5G NR. In some aspects, a wireless communication structure may refer to a periodic, time-limited communication unit defined by a wireless communication standard and / or protocol. Additionally or alternatively, a wireless communication structure may be used in conjunction with Figure 3A The configurations of different wireless communication structures are shown in .
[0064] In some telecommunications (e.g., NR), a base station may send synchronization signals. For example, a base station may send a primary synchronization signal (PSS), a secondary synchronization signal (SSS), etc. on the downlink for each cell supported by the base station. The PSS and SSS may be used by the UE for cell search and acquisition. For example, the PSS may be used by the UE to determine symbol timing, and the SSS may be used by the UE to determine a physical cell identifier associated with the base station, and frame timing. The base station may also send a physical broadcast channel (PBCH). The PBCH may carry some system information, such as system information that supports initial access by the UE.
[0065] In some aspects, such as the following combination Figure 3B As described above, the base station may transmit the PSS, SSS and / or PBCH according to a synchronization communication hierarchy structure (eg, a synchronization signal (SS) hierarchy structure) including a plurality of synchronization communications (eg, SS blocks).
[0066] Figure 3B is a block diagram conceptually illustrating an example SS hierarchy structure, which is an example of a synchronous communication hierarchy structure. Figure 3B As shown, the SS hierarchy may include an SS burst set, which may include multiple SS bursts (identified as SS burst 0 to SS burst B-1, where B is the maximum number of repetitions of the SS burst that can be sent by the base station). As further shown, each SS burst may include one or more SS blocks (identified as SS block 0 to SS block (b max_SS -1), where b max_SS -1 is the maximum number of SS blocks that an SS burst can carry). In some aspects, different SS blocks may be beamformed differently. SS burst sets may be sent periodically by a wireless node, such as Figure 3B In some aspects, SS burst sets may have a fixed or dynamic length, such as Figure 3B The Y milliseconds shown in .
[0067] Figure 3B The SS burst sets shown in are examples of synchronous communication sets, and other synchronous communication sets may be used in conjunction with the techniques described herein. Figure 3B The SS blocks shown in are examples of synchronous communications, and other synchronous communications may be used in conjunction with the techniques described herein.
[0068] In some aspects, an SS block includes resources and / or synchronization channels that carry PSS, SSS, PBCH, and / or other synchronization signals (e.g., a triple synchronization signal (TSS)). In some aspects, multiple SS blocks are included in an SS burst, and the PSS, SSS, and / or PBCH may be the same on each SS block of an SS burst. In some aspects, a single SS block may be included in an SS burst. In some aspects, an SS block may be at least four symbol periods in length, with each symbol carrying one or more of a PSS (e.g., occupying one symbol), a SSS (e.g., occupying one symbol), and / or a PBCH (e.g., occupying two symbols).
[0069] In some aspects, such as Figure 3B As shown, the symbols of the SS blocks are continuous. In some aspects, the symbols of the SS blocks are discontinuous. Similarly, in some aspects, one or more SS blocks of an SS burst may be sent in continuous radio resources (e.g., continuous symbol periods) during one or more time slots. Additionally or alternatively, one or more SS blocks of an SS burst may be sent in non-continuous radio resources.
[0070] In some aspects, an SS burst may have a burst period, wherein an SS block of the SS burst is sent by the base station according to the burst period. In other words, the SS block may be repeated during each SS burst. In some aspects, an SS burst set may have a burst set periodicity, wherein an SS burst of the SS burst set is sent by the base station according to a fixed burst set periodicity. In other words, the SS burst may be repeated during each SS burst set.
[0071] The base station may send system information, such as system information blocks (SIBs), on a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) in certain time slots. The base station may send control information / data on a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) in C symbol periods of a time slot, where B is configurable for each time slot. The base station may send traffic data and / or other data on the PDSCH in the remaining symbol periods of each time slot.
[0072] As mentioned above, providing Figure 3A and 3B As an example. Other examples may be related to Figure 3A and 3B The description is different.
[0073] Figure 4 An example slot format 410 with a normal cyclic prefix is shown. Available time-frequency resources may be partitioned into resource blocks. Each resource block may cover a set of subcarriers in a slot (e.g., 12 subcarriers) and may include multiple resource elements. Each resource element may cover a subcarrier in a symbol period (e.g., in time) and may be used to send a modulation symbol, which may be real or complex valued.
[0074] In some telecommunication systems (e.g., NR), an interlaced structure may be used for each of the downlink and uplink of FDD. For example, Q interlaces indexed from 0 to Q-1 may be defined, where Q may be equal to 4, 6, 8, 10, or some other value. Each interlace may include time slots spaced apart by Q frames. In particular, interlace q may include time slots q, q+Q, q+2Q, etc., where q∈{0, ..., Q-1}.
[0075] A UE may be located within the coverage of multiple BSs. One of these BSs may be selected to serve the UE. The serving BS may be selected based at least in part on various criteria such as received signal strength, received signal quality, path loss, etc. The received signal quality may be quantified by a signal to noise and interference ratio (SNIR) or a reference signal received quality (RSRQ) or some other metric. The UE may operate in a dominant interference scenario, where the UE may observe high interference from one or more interfering BSs.
[0076] Although aspects of the examples described herein may be associated with NR or 5G technology, aspects of the present disclosure may be applicable to other wireless communication systems. New Radio (NR) may refer to a radio configured to operate according to a new air interface (e.g., in addition to an air interface based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA)) or a fixed transport layer (e.g., in addition to the Internet Protocol (IP)). In some aspects, NR may use OFDM with CP (referred to herein as cyclic prefix OFDM or CP-OFDM) and / or SC-FDM on the uplink, may use CP-OFDM on the downlink and include support for half-duplex operation using time division duplex (TDD). In some aspects, NR may, for example, utilize OFDM with CP (referred to herein as CP-OFDM) and / or discrete Fourier transform spread orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (DFT-s-OFDM) on the uplink, may utilize CP-OFDM on the downlink, and include support for half-duplex operation using TDD. NR may include enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) services targeting wide bandwidth (e.g., 80 megahertz (MHz) and above), millimeter wave (mmW) targeting high carrier frequencies (e.g., 60 gigahertz (GHz)), massive MTC (mMTC) targeting non-backward compatible MTC technologies, and / or mission critical targeting ultra-reliable low latency communication (URLLC) services.
[0077] In some aspects, a single component carrier bandwidth of 100 MHz may be supported. NR resource blocks may span 12 subcarriers with a subcarrier bandwidth of 60 or 120 kilohertz (kHz) in a 0.1 millisecond (ms) duration. Each radio frame may include 40 slots and may have a length of 10 ms. Thus, each slot may have a length of 0.25 ms. Each slot may indicate a link direction (e.g., DL or UL) for data transmission and the link direction of each slot may be switched dynamically. Each slot may include DL / UL data and DL / UL control data.
[0078] Beamforming may be supported and the beam direction may be dynamically configured. MIMO transmission with precoding may also be supported. MIMO configuration in DL may support up to 8 transmit antennas with multi-layer DL transmission up to 8 streams and up to 2 streams per UE. Multi-layer transmission of up to 2 streams per UE may be supported. Aggregation of multiple cells of up to 8 serving cells may be supported. Alternatively, NR may support a different air interface instead of an OFDM-based interface. NR networks may include entities such as a central unit or a distributed unit.
[0079] As mentioned above, providing Figure 4 As an example. Other examples may be related to Figure 4The description is different.
[0080] Figure 5 An example logical architecture of a distributed RAN 500 according to various aspects of the present disclosure is shown. A 5G access node 506 may include an access node controller (ANC) 502. The ANC may be a central unit (CU) of the distributed RAN 500. The backhaul interface to the next generation core network (NG-CN) 504 may terminate at the ANC. The backhaul interface to the adjacent next generation access node (NG-AN) may terminate at the ANC. The ANC may include one or more TRPs 508 (which may also be referred to as BS, NR BS, Node B, 5GNB, AP, gNB or some other terminology). As described above, TRP may be used interchangeably with "cell".
[0081] The TRP 508 may be a distributed unit (DU). The TRP may be connected to one ANC (ANC 502) or more than one ANC (not shown). For example, for RAN sharing, Radio as a Service (RaaS), and service-specific AND deployments, the TRP may be connected to more than one ANC. The TRP may include one or more antenna ports. The TRP may be configured to provide services to the UE individually (e.g., dynamically selected) or jointly (e.g., joint transmission).
[0082] The local architecture of RAN 500 can be used to illustrate the fronthaul definition. An architecture that supports fronthaul solutions across different deployment types can be defined. For example, the architecture can be based at least in part on the sending network capabilities (e.g., bandwidth, latency, and / or jitter).
[0083] The architecture may share features and / or components with LTE. According to various aspects, the next generation AN (NG-AN) 510 may support dual connectivity with NR. The NG-AN may share a common fronthaul for LTE and NR.
[0084] The architecture may enable collaboration between TRPs 508. For example, collaboration may be provisioned within a TRP and / or across TRPs via ANC 502. According to various aspects, an inter-TRP interface may not be required / existent.
[0085] According to various aspects, there may be dynamic configuration of split logical functions within the architecture of RAN 500. Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP), Radio Link Control (RLC), Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols may be adaptively placed at ANC or TRP.
[0086] According to various aspects, a BS may include a central unit (CU) (eg, ANC 502) and / or one or more distributed units (eg, one or more TRPs 508).
[0087] As mentioned above, providing Figure 5 As an example. Other examples may be related to Figure 5 The description is different.
[0088] Figure 6 An example physical architecture of a distributed RAN 600 according to aspects of the present disclosure is shown. A centralized core network unit (C-CU) 602 may host core network functions. The C-CU may be centrally deployed. C-CU functions may be offloaded (e.g., to Advanced Wireless Services (AWS)) in an effort to handle peak capacity.
[0089] A centralized RAN unit (C-RU) 604 may host one or more ANC functions. Optionally, the C-RU may host core network functions locally. The C-RU may have a distributed deployment. The C-RU may be closer to the network edge.
[0090] A distributed unit (DU) 606 may host one or more TRPs. The DU may be located at the edge of the network with radio frequency (RF) capabilities.
[0091] As mentioned above, providing Figure 6 As an example. Other examples may be related to Figure 6 The description is different.
[0092] Figure 7 700 is a diagram illustrating an example of a DL-centric time slot or wireless communication structure. The DL-centric time slot may include a control portion 702. The control portion 702 may be present at an initial or beginning portion of the DL-centric time slot. The control portion 702 may include various scheduling information and / or control information corresponding to various portions of the DL-centric time slot. In some configurations, such as Figure 7 As shown, the control portion 702 may be a PDCCH. In some aspects, the control portion 702 may include traditional PDCCH information, shortened PDCCH (sPDCCH) information, a control format indicator (CFI) value (e.g., carried on a physical control format indicator channel (PCFICH)), one or more grants (e.g., downlink grant, uplink grant, etc.), etc.
[0093] The DL-centric time slot may also include a DL data portion 704. The DL data portion 704 may sometimes be referred to as the payload of the DL-centric time slot. The DL data portion 704 may include communication resources utilized to communicate DL data from a scheduling entity (e.g., a UE or BS) to a subordinate entity (e.g., a UE). In some configurations, the DL data portion 704 may be a PDSCH.
[0094] The DL-centric time slot may also include a UL short burst portion 706. The UL short burst portion 706 may sometimes be referred to as a UL burst, a UL burst portion, a common UL burst, a short burst, a UL short burst, a common UL short burst, a common UL short burst portion, and / or various other suitable terms. In some aspects, the UL short burst portion 706 may include one or more reference signals. Additionally or alternatively, the UL short burst portion 706 may include feedback information corresponding to various other portions of the DL-centric time slot. For example, the UL short burst portion 706 may include feedback information corresponding to the control portion 702 and / or the data portion 704. Non-limiting examples of information that may be included in the UL short burst portion 706 include an ACK signal (e.g., PUCCH ACK, PUSCH ACK, immediate ACK), a NACK signal (e.g., PUCCH NACK, PUSCH NACK, immediate NACK), a scheduling request (SR), a buffer status report (BSR), a HARQ indicator, a channel state indication (CSI), a channel quality indicator (CQI), a sounding reference signal (SRS), a demodulation reference signal (DMRS), PUSCH data, and / or various other suitable information types. The UL short burst portion 706 may include additional or alternative information, such as information related to a random access channel (RACH) procedure, a scheduling request, and various other suitable information types.
[0095] like Figure 7 As shown, the end of the DL data portion 704 can be separated in time from the beginning of the UL short burst portion 706. This time separation may sometimes be referred to as a gap, a guard period, a guard interval, and / or various other suitable terms. This separation provides time for switching from DL communication (e.g., receiving operation of a subordinate entity (e.g., UE)) to UL communication (e.g., transmission of a subordinate entity (e.g., UE)). The foregoing is an example of a DL-centric wireless communication structure, and there may be alternative structures having similar features without necessarily departing from the aspects described herein.
[0096] As mentioned above, providing Figure 7 As an example. Other examples may be related to Figure 7 The description is different.
[0097] Figure 8 800 is a diagram illustrating an example of a UL-centric timeslot or wireless communication structure. The UL-centric timeslot may include a control portion 802. The control portion 802 may be present at the initial or beginning portion of the UL-centric timeslot. Figure 8 The control portion 802 in the embodiment may be similar to the above reference Figure 7 The control portion 702 described above. The UL-centric time slot may also include a UL long burst portion 804. The UL long burst portion 804 may sometimes be referred to as the payload of the UL-centric time slot. The UL portion may refer to a communication resource used to communicate UL data from a subordinate entity (e.g., a UE) to a scheduling entity (e.g., a UE or a BS). In some configurations, the control portion 802 may be a PDCCH.
[0098] like Figure 8 As shown, the end of the control portion 802 can be separated in time from the beginning of the UL long burst portion 804. This time separation may sometimes be referred to as a gap, a guard period, a guard interval, and / or various other suitable terms. This separation provides time for switching from DL communication (e.g., receiving operation of the scheduling entity) to UL communication (e.g., transmission of the scheduling entity).
[0099] The UL-centric timeslot may also include a UL short burst portion 806 . Figure 8 The UL short burst portion 806 in the above reference may be similar to Figure 7 The UL short burst portion 706 described above may include the combination of Figure 7 The foregoing is one example of a UL-centric wireless communication structure, and there may be alternative structures having similar features without necessarily departing from the aspects described herein.
[0100] In some cases, two or more subordinate entities (e.g., UEs) may communicate with each other using sidelink signals. Real-world applications of such sidelink communications may include public safety, proximity services, UE-to-network relay, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications, Internet of Everything (IoE) communications, IoT communications, mission-critical grids, and / or various other suitable applications. Typically, a sidelink signal may refer to a signal transmitted from one subordinate entity (e.g., UE1) to another subordinate entity (e.g., UE2) without relaying the communication through a scheduling entity (e.g., UE or BS), although the scheduling entity may be used for scheduling and / or control purposes. In some aspects, sidelink signals may be communicated using licensed spectrum (unlike wireless local area networks, which typically use unlicensed spectrum).
[0101] In one example, a wireless communication structure such as a frame may include both UL-centric time slots and DL-centric time slots. In this example, the ratio of UL-centric time slots to DL-centric time slots in a frame may be dynamically adjusted based at least in part on the amount of UL data and the amount of DL data sent. For example, if there is more UL data, the ratio of UL-centric time slots to DL-centric time slots may be increased. Conversely, if there is more DL data, the ratio of UL-centric time slots to DL-centric time slots may be reduced.
[0102] As mentioned above, providing Figure 8 As an example. Other examples may be related to Figure 8 The description is different.
[0103] In a wireless network, a UE may communicate with a BS by sending a PUSCH communication on an uplink of a wireless communication link between the UE and the BS. The BS may configure one or more parameters for sending a PUSCH communication on an uplink. In some cases, the BS may configure one or more parameters by sending a PUSCH configuration authorization to the UE. The PUSCH configuration authorization may include a type 1 PUSCH configuration authorization or a type 2 PUSCH configuration authorization. The type 1 PUSCH configuration authorization may include a PUSCH configuration authorization configured and activated via radio resource control (RRC) signaling. The type 2 PUSCH configuration authorization may include a PUSCH configuration authorization configured via RRC signaling and activated via downlink control information (DCI) signaling.
[0104] To establish the grant of the PUSCH configuration, the BS may configure the UE (e.g., via a master information block (MIB), a system information block (SIB), etc.) a sounding reference signal (SRS) set indicating time and frequency resources for sending a plurality of SRSs to the BS. The BS may receive and perform one or more measurements associated with the plurality of SRSs to determine one or more parameters for the grant of the PUSCH configuration.
[0105] For example, the BS may identify time and frequency resources that the UE will use to send PUSCH communications on the uplink based at least in part on one or more measurements of the plurality of SRSs, and may indicate an SRS resource indicator (SRI) associated with the time and frequency resources in a grant for the PUSCH configuration. If the PUSCH communications will be sent using codebook-based transmission, the BS may also indicate in a grant for the PUSCH configuration a transmit precoder matrix indicator (TPMI) associated with a precoder that the UE will use to send the PUSCH communications.
[0106] In some cases, one or more components in a wireless network (e.g., a BS, an access management function (AMF) component, a user plane function (UPF) component, a session management function (SMF) component, and / or the like) may determine that the UE is to switch to using a different SRI and / or TPMI for PUSCH transmission. In this case, the BS may need to reconfigure the UE to use an additional TPMI and / or SRI. For example, for a grant of a type 1 PUSCH configuration, the BS may reconfigure the UE with an additional TPMI and / or SRI by sending an RRC reconfiguration communication to the UE indicating the additional TPMI and / or SRI. As another example, for a grant of a type 1 PUSCH configuration, the BS may reconfigure the UE with an additional TPMI and / or SRI by sending an additional DCI communication to the UE to activate a grant of an additional PUSCH configuration indicating the additional TPMI and / or SRI. Any of the above reconfiguration techniques may result in long delays in PUSCH communications (e.g., up to 100 ms or more), which in turn may degrade PUSCH performance on the uplink.
[0107] Some aspects described herein provide techniques and apparatus for dynamic PUSCH configuration. In some aspects, a BS may send a first signaling communication to a UE that configures multiple TPMI and SRI pairs. The UE may periodically cycle through multiple TPMI and SRI pairs to send PUSCH communications to the BS on the uplink. In this way, the UE can switch to different TPMI and SRI pairs without having to wait for additional signaling from the BS. This reduces the delay between PUSCH communications, thereby improving PUSCH performance on the uplink. In addition, this reduces the amount of signaling communications that the BS needs to send in order for the UE to switch to different TPMI and SRI pairs, thereby reducing radio resource usage on the downlink.
[0108] Figure 9A-9C 9 is a diagram illustrating an example 900 of a dynamic PUSCH configuration according to various aspects of the present disclosure. Figure 9A-9C As shown, example 900 may include a BS (e.g., BS 110) and a UE (e.g., UE 120). In some aspects, BS 110 and UE 120 may be included in a wireless network. BS 110 and UE 120 may be communicatively connected and may communicate via a wireless communication link. The wireless communication link may include a downlink (e.g., a link that allows communication from BS 110 to UE 120) and an uplink (e.g., a link that allows communication from UE 120 to BS 110).
[0109] In some aspects, BS 110 may configure one or more parameters for UE 120 for transmitting PUSCH communications on the uplink. In some aspects, BS 110 may configure the one or more parameters based at least in part on receiving a scheduling request (SR) communication from UE 120, based at least in part on detecting one or more SRS transmitted from UE 120, etc.
[0110] like Fig.9A As shown, and by reference numeral 902, BS 110 may send a signaling communication to UE 120 that configures one or more parameters. The signaling communication may be a grant of a PUSCH configuration, which may include an RRC communication, a DCI communication, etc. In some aspects, the one or more parameters may include a TPMI and SRI pair. In some aspects, the one or more parameters may include multiple TPMI and SRI pairs.
[0111] In some aspects, BS 110 may select a TPMI and SRI pair or multiple TPMI and SRI pairs by performing one or more channel quality measurements associated with one or more SRS sent from UE 120 to determine the channel quality of each respective portion of the uplink associated with the one or more SRS. In some aspects, BS 110 may select a TPMI and SRI pair associated with an uplink resource on which the highest channel quality measurement is obtained. In some aspects, BS 110 may select a TPMI and SRI pair associated with an uplink resource on which a channel quality measurement satisfying a channel quality threshold is obtained.
[0112] In some aspects, if the one or more parameters include multiple TPMI and SRI pairs, each TPMI and SRI pair may include a different TPMI and SRI. In some aspects, if the one or more parameters include multiple TPMI and SRI pairs, one or more TPMI and SRI pairs may include the same TPMI and / or SRI as one or more other TPMI and SRI pairs.
[0113] In some aspects, BS 110 may explicitly indicate multiple TPMI and SRI pairs in a signaling communication. That is, the signaling communication may include information identifying each TPMI and SRI included in the multiple TPMI and SRI pairs. For example, each TPMI may be explicitly indicated by a TPMI index and each SRI may be explicitly indicated by an SRI index.
[0114] In some aspects, the signaling communication may implicitly indicate multiple TPMI and SRI pairs. For example, the TPMI set included in the multiple TPMI and SRI pairs may be associated with the corresponding TPMI group identifier, and the BS 110 may specify the TPMI group identifier in the signaling communication. In this case, the UE 120 may identify the TPMI group identifier in the signaling communication, and may perform a search in a table and / or another data structure to identify the TPMI set included in the multiple TPMI and SRI pairs based at least in part on the TPMI group identifier. In some aspects, the SRI associated with the TPMI included in the multiple TPMI and SRI pairs may also be indicated in the table and / or other data structures. In some aspects, the SRI associated with the TPMI included in the multiple TPMI and SRI pairs may be explicitly indicated in the signaling communication.
[0115] like Fig.9A As further shown in FIG. 1 and by reference to reference numeral 904, the UE 120 may receive a signaling communication and send one or more PUSCH communications based at least in part on a TPMI and SRI pair or pairs indicated in the signaling communication. In some aspects, the UE 120 may identify the TPMI and SRI pair or pairs by identifying an explicit indication in the signaling communication, by identifying an implicit indication and performing a lookup, and the like.
[0116] In some aspects, if the signaling communication indicates a TPMI and SRI pair, the UE 120 may send one or more PUSCH communications by identifying a codebook associated with the TPMI, precoding the one or more PUSCH communications based at least in part on the codebook, and sending the one or more PUSCH communications using uplink radio resources associated with the SRI.
[0117] In some aspects, if the signaling communication indicates multiple TPMI and SRI pairs, the UE 120 may use the multiple TPMI and SRI pairs to send one or more PUSCH communications in a non-cyclic manner or in a cyclic manner. For example, if the UE 120 uses the multiple TPMI and SRI pairs to send one or more PUSCH communications in a non-cyclic manner, the UE 120 may use the same TPMI and SRI pair from the multiple TPMI and SRI pairs to send the PUSCH communication until instructed (e.g., by the BS 110) to switch to another TPMI and SRI pair from the multiple TPMI and SRI pairs.
[0118] As another example, if UE 120 uses multiple TPMI and SRI pairs to send one or more PUSCH communications in a cyclic manner, UE 120 can use the corresponding TPMI and SRI pairs to send multiple PUSCH communications. In this case, UE 120 can use a first TPMI and SRI pair to send a first PUSCH communication, a second TPMI and SRI pair to send a second PUSCH communication, and so on.
[0119] In some aspects, the cycle order (i.e., the order in which the UE 120 cycles through the plurality of TPMI and SRI pairs) may be specified in a first signaling communication. In some aspects, the cycle order may be specified in a table or another data structure configured at the UE 120. In some aspects, the cycle order may be specified in a telecommunications standard implemented in the wireless network. In some aspects, the BS 110 may send a plurality of candidate cycle orders in a signaling communication, and may periodically select a cycle order from the plurality of candidate cycle orders that the UE 120 will use to cycle through the plurality of TPMI and SRI pairs.
[0120] In some aspects, the UE 120 may use a hybrid cycling technique to send PUSCH communications using multiple TPMI and SRI pairs. For example, if the TPMI sets included in the multiple TPMI and SRI pairs are included in the corresponding TPMI groups, the UE 120 may send PUSCH communications by cycling through the TPMI and SRI pairs included in the first TPMI group, and may switch to the second TPMI group based at least in part on receiving an instruction to switch to the second TPMI group.
[0121] In some aspects, a signaling communication, a table or other data structure, etc., may specify a rotation order for a TPMI group associated with a plurality of TPMI and SRI pairs. In some aspects, BS 110 may send a plurality of candidate rotation orders in a signaling communication, and may periodically select a rotation order from the plurality of candidate rotation orders that UE 120 will use to cycle through the TPMI groups.
[0122] Go to Fig. 9BIn some aspects, BS 110 may instruct UE 120 to switch to another TPMI and SRI pair, another TPMI group, and / or another cyclic order. As shown by reference to reference numeral 906, BS 110 may send another signaling communication (e.g., another RRC communication, another DCI communication, etc.) that selects the TPMI and SRI pair, TPMI group, and / or cyclic order to which UE 120 will switch. In this manner, if the signaling communication indicates a TPMI and SRI pair, BS 110 may allow UE 120 to switch to another TPMI and SRI pair. In addition, in this manner, if the signaling communication indicates multiple TPMI and SRI pairs (or TPMI groups associated with multiple TPMI and SRI pairs), and UE 120 will use multiple TPMI and SRI pairs in a non-cyclic manner, BS 110 may select the next TPMI and SRI pair (and / or TPMI group) among the multiple TPMI and SRI pairs that UE 120 will use to send PUSCH communications. Furthermore, in this manner, if the signaling communication indicates a plurality of candidate round-robin orders, BS 110 may select a round-robin order from the plurality of candidate round-robin orders.
[0123] In some aspects, the TPMI and SRI pair, TPMI group, and / or cyclic order may be explicitly indicated in other signaling communications, may be implicitly indicated by other signaling communications, or may be indicated by a combination of explicit and implicit indications. For example, the TPMI may be implicitly indicated by a TPMI index, which the UE 120 may use to perform a lookup (e.g., in a table or another data structure), and the SRI may be explicitly indicated in another signaling communication.
[0124] In some aspects, the TPMI and SRI pair, TPMI group, and / or cyclic order may be indicated in other signaling communications along with information directed to one or more other UEs. In this case, BS 110 may scramble the other signaling communications using a group common radio network temporary identifier (GC-RNTI) associated with UE 120 and one or more other UEs to direct the other signaling communications to UE 120 and one or more other UEs. In this manner, only UE 120 and one or more other UEs are able to descramble and read the other signaling communications.
[0125] In addition, BS 110 can locate TPMI and SRI pairs, TPMI groups and / or indications of cyclic order based at least in part on search offset in other signaling communications. Search offset can indicate the position of the start of other signaling communications relative to other signaling communications. In this way, UE 120 can use search offset to identify TPMI and SRI pairs, TPMI groups and / or indications of cyclic order in other signaling communications. In some aspects, UE 120 can be configured with information identifying search offset. In some aspects, BS 110 can indicate search offset to UE 120 in signaling communications and / or other communications.
[0126] like Fig. 9B As further shown in FIG. 1 and by reference to reference numeral 908, UE 120 may receive other signaling communications and may switch to a TPMI and SRI pair, TPMI group, and / or cyclic order indicated by the other signaling. In this case, UE 120 may send one or more PUSCH communications using the TPMI and SRI pair, TPMI group, and / or cyclic order indicated by the other signaling communications.
[0127] In some aspects, UE 120 can identify TPMI and SRI pairs, TPMI groups and / or cyclic orders in other signaling communications by descrambling the other signaling communications based at least in part on the GC-RNTI and by identifying the location of the TPMI and SRI pairs, TPMI groups and / or cyclic orders based at least in part on the search offset.
[0128] Go to Fig. 9C In some aspects, BS 110 may provide TPMI and SRI pair updates to UE 120. For example, BS 110 may update a TPMI and SRI pair by associating a different SRI with a TPMI included in the TPMI and SRI pair, or vice versa. As another example, BS 110 may update multiple TPMI and SRI pairs by removing a TPMI and SRI pair from the multiple TPMI and SRI pairs, by adding a TPMI and SRI pair from the multiple TPMI and SRI pairs, by specifying additional multiple TPMI and SRI pairs, and so on. As a further example, BS 110 may update a rotation order associated with one or more TPMI and SRI pairs in the multiple TPMI and SRI pairs (or associated with a TPMI group).
[0129] As indicated by reference numeral 910, BS 110 may send other signaling communications indicating updates to one or more TPMI and SRI pairs, TPMI groups, and / or cyclic orders. In some aspects, the other signaling communications may include additional RRC communications, additional DCI communications, etc. In some aspects, the other signaling communications may schedule retransmissions of PUSCH communications. In some aspects, the other signaling communications may include a PUSCH ACK (e.g., an indication that a PUSCH communication was successfully received and decoded).
[0130] In some aspects, the update may be indicated in other signaling communications along with updates directed to one or more other UEs. In this case, BS 110 may scramble the other signaling communications using the GC-RNTI associated with UE 120 and the one or more other UEs to direct the other signaling communications to UE 120 and the one or more other UEs. In this way, only UE 120 and the one or more other UEs are able to descramble and read the other signaling communications. In addition, BS 110 may locate the updated indication in the other signaling communications based at least in part on the search offset. The search offset may indicate a position in the other signaling communications relative to the start of the other signaling communications. In this way, UE 120 may use the search offset to identify the updated indication in the other signaling communications.
[0131] like Fig. 9C As further shown in FIG. 1 and by reference to reference numeral 912, the UE 120 may receive other signaling communications and may send one or more PUSCH communications based at least in part on updates indicated by the other signaling communications. In this case, the UE 120 may send one or more PUSCH communications using updated one or more TPMI and SRI pairs, updated TPMI sets, and / or updated cyclic orders indicated by the other signaling communications to perform scheduled retransmissions of the PUSCH communications, etc. In some aspects, the UE 120 may identify updates in the other signaling communications by descrambling the other signaling communications based at least in part on the GC-RNTI and by identifying the location of the updates based at least in part on the search offset.
[0132] In this manner, BS 110 may send a first signaling communication to UE 120 that configures a plurality of TPMI and SRI pairs. UE 120 may periodically cycle through the plurality of TPMI and SRI pairs to send PUSCH communications to BS 110 on the uplink. This allows UE 120 to switch to a different TPMI and SRI pair without having to wait for additional signaling from BS 110. This reduces the delay between PUSCH communications, thereby improving PUSCH performance on the uplink. In addition, this reduces the amount of signaling communications that BS 110 needs to send in order to enable UE 120 to switch to a different TPMI and SRI pair, thereby reducing radio resource usage on the downlink.
[0133] As mentioned above, providing Figure 9A-9C As an example. Other examples may be related to Figure 9A-9C The description is different.
