Polycarbodiimides, methods of making, uses, compositions containing same

Abstract

The application discloses a polycarbodiimide and a preparation method, application and composition containing the same. The polycarbodiimide has the structural formula as shown in the specification. R1 and R3 are independently divalent aliphatic hydrocarbon groups with 1-18 carbon atoms or divalent aromatic hydrocarbon groups with 3-13 carbon atoms; R2 is a residue of R2H2, R2H2 is a silane coupling agent containing at least two active hydrogens; R4 is a residue of R4H, and R5 is a residue of R5H, R4H or R5H is a silane coupling agent containing active hydrogen and / or an ether compound; and n1 and n2 are independently integers of 1-5. The water-based resin coating prepared from the polycarbodiimide has good crosslinking density, good wear resistance, good adhesion to a base material, high initial peeling strength, high peeling strength after hygrothermal aging, good hydrolysis resistance, short peeling length and good heat resistance, and has a wide application prospect in the field of water-based paint / adhesive.
