Methods and equipment for dry manufacturing of durum cellulose products

Abstract

An apparatus (100) and method for dry manufacturing of hard cellulose products having a generally non-flat shape. The apparatus (100) includes a decomposition unit (3), a multi-stage cellulose preform forming unit (30), and a product forming unit (40) for producing hard cellulose products (14). The multi-stage cellulose preform forming unit (30) includes: a distributor for guiding a cellulose fiber-carrying airflow from the decomposition unit (3); a first forming drum (15) having an outer surface configured to receive cellulose fibers and form a portion of the cellulose preform by means of a first air removal device (54) disposed inside the first forming drum (15); a second forming drum (15') for forming a continuous or discontinuous cellulose preform (13) by means of a second air removal device (54') disposed inside the second forming drum (15'); and a support structure (8) for receiving the continuous or discontinuous cellulose preform (13) formed on the second forming drum (15').
