[0021] Figure 6-Figure 10 A flow chart of a method of supporting multi-mode OAM according to aspects of the present disclosure is illustrated. DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0022] Implementations of multimode OAM are described, such as in connection with methods, apparatuses, and systems supporting multimode OAM. For example, the present disclosure enables OAM modes to be used for wireless communications, which can increase the number of available communication channels in a wireless communication system.
[0023] In some wireless communication systems, different wireless resources are used for wireless communication, such as frequency domain resources (e.g., carriers, subcarriers, etc.) and time domain resources (e.g., symbols, time slots, sub-time slots, mini-time slots, aggregated time slots, subframes, frames, etc.). However, current wireless communication systems do not provide resources in some other resource domains (such as in the OAM domain). Therefore, such systems cannot utilize resources in such resource domains for wireless communication.
[0024] Therefore, the implementation of multimode OAM provides a framework for enabling different OAM modes to be used for wireless communications. For example, OAM modes with different topological charge values of waves are mutually orthogonal, so vortex beams carrying different OAM modes can provide independent communication channels for wireless transmission and reception of UE and other wireless devices. For example, an association of RS (e.g., CSI-RS) for information about channel properties with one or more OAM modes is provided to perform OAM measurements at the UE. In addition, a feedback mechanism for indicating OAM modes based on channel measurements is provided. For example, an enhancement to a report configuration for indicating measurements based on OAM modes is proposed. Therefore, the present disclosure enables OAM modes to be used for wireless communications, which can increase the number of available communication channels in a wireless communication system.
[0025] Aspects of the present disclosure are described in the context of wireless communication systems.Aspects of the present disclosure are further illustrated and described with reference to device diagrams and flow charts related to multimode OAM.
[0026] Figure 1An example of a wireless communication system 100 supporting multimode OAM according to various aspects of the present disclosure is illustrated. The wireless communication system 100 may include one or more base stations 102, one or more UEs 104, and a core network 106. The wireless communication system 100 may support various radio access technologies. In some implementations, the wireless communication system 100 may be a 4G network, such as an LTE network or an advanced LTE (LTE-A) network. In some other implementations, the wireless communication system 100 may be a 5G network, such as an NR network. In other implementations, the wireless communication system 100 may be a combination of a 4G network and a 5G network. The wireless communication system 100 may support radio access technologies other than 5G. In addition, the wireless communication system 100 may support technologies such as time division multiple access (TDMA), frequency division multiple access (FDMA), or code division multiple access (CDMA).
[0027] One or more base stations 102 may be dispersed throughout a geographic area to form a wireless communication system 100. One or more of the base stations 102 described herein may be or include or may be referred to as a base transceiver station, an access point, a NodeB, an eNodeB (eNB), a next generation NodeB (gNB), a radio head (RH), a relay node, an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node, or other suitable terms. The base station 102 and the UE 104 may communicate via a communication link 108, which may be a wireless or wired connection. For example, the base station 102 and the UE 104 may perform wireless communication via an NR-Uu interface.
[0028] A base station 102 may provide a geographic coverage area 110, and the base station 102 may support services (e.g., voice, video, packet data, messaging, broadcast, etc.) for one or more UEs 104 within the geographic coverage area. For example, the base station 102 and the UE 104 may support wireless communications of signals associated with services (e.g., voice, video, packet data, messaging, broadcast, etc.) in accordance with one or more radio access technologies. In some implementations, the base station 102 may be mobile, such as when implemented as a gNB on a satellite or other non-terrestrial station (NTS) associated with a non-terrestrial network (NTN). In some implementations, different geographic coverage areas 110 associated with the same or different radio access technologies may overlap, and different geographic coverage areas 110 may be associated with different base stations 102. The information and signals described herein may be represented using any of a variety of different technologies and techniques. For example, data, instructions, commands, information, signals, bits, symbols, and chips that may be referenced throughout the description may be represented by voltage, current, electromagnetic waves, magnetic fields or particles, optical fields or particles, or any combination thereof.
[0029] One or more UEs 104 may be dispersed throughout a geographic area or coverage area 110 of the wireless communication system 100. UE 104 may include or may be referred to as a mobile device, a wireless device, a remote device, a handheld device, a customer premises equipment (CPE), a subscriber device, or some other suitable term. In some implementations, UE 104 may be referred to as a unit, a station, a terminal, or a client, etc. Additionally or alternatively, UE 104 may be referred to as an Internet of Things (IoT) device, an Internet of Everything (IoE) device, or a machine type communication (MTC) device, etc. In some implementations, UE 104 may be stationary in the wireless communication system 100. In other implementations, UE 104 may be mobile in the wireless communication system 100, such as an earth station in motion (ESIM).
[0030] One or more UEs 104 may be devices of different forms or with different capabilities. Figure 1 Some examples of UE 104 are illustrated in FIG. Figure 1 As shown, UE 104 can communicate with various types of devices, such as base stations 102, other UEs 104, or network devices (e.g., core network 106, relay devices, gateway devices, integrated access and backhaul (IAB) nodes, location servers implementing location management functions (LMF), or other network devices). Additionally or alternatively, UE 104 can support communication with other base stations 102 or UEs 104 (which can act as relays in the wireless communication system 100).
[0031] The UE 104 may also support wireless communications directly with other UEs 104 via a communication link 112. For example, the UE 104 may support wireless communications directly with another UE 104 via a device-to-device (D2D) communication link. In some implementations, such as vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) deployments, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) deployments, or cellular V2X deployments, the communication link 112 may be referred to as a sidelink. For example, the UE 104 may support wireless communications directly with another UE 104 via a PC5 interface.
[0032] The base station 102 may support communication with the core network 106, or with another base station 102, or both. For example, the base station 102 may interface with the core network 106 via one or more backhaul links 114 (e.g., via S1, N2, or other network interfaces). The base stations 102 may communicate with each other via the backhaul links 114 (e.g., via X2, Xn, or another network interface). In some implementations, the base stations 102 may communicate directly with each other (e.g., between the base stations 102). In some other implementations, the base stations 102 may communicate with each other indirectly (e.g., via the core network 106). In some implementations, one or more base stations 102 may include subcomponents, such as access network entities, which may be examples of access node controllers (ANCs). The ANC may communicate with one or more UEs 104 via one or more other access network transport entities, which may be referred to as remote radio heads, smart radio heads, gateways, transmission reception points (TRPs), and other network nodes and / or entities.
[0033] The core network 106 may support user authentication, access authorization, tracking, connection, and other access, routing, or mobility functions. The core network 106 may be an evolved packet core (EPC) or a 5G core (5GC), which may include control plane entities that manage access and mobility (e.g., mobility management entity (MME), access and mobility management function (AMF)), and user plane entities that route packets or interconnections to external networks (e.g., serving gateway (S-GW), packet data network (PDN) gateway (P-GW), or user plane function (UPF)). In some implementations, the control plane entities may manage non-access stratum (NAS) functions, such as mobility, authentication, and bearer management of one or more UEs 104 served by one or more base stations 102 associated with the core network 106.
[0034] Depending on the implementation, one or more of the UE 104 and the base station 102 may be operable to implement various aspects of multi-mode OAM, as described herein. For example, the base station 102 may send an OAM notification 116 to the UE 104. The OAM notification 116 may include various types of information, such as information identifying OAM resources that may be used by the UE 104 for wireless transmissions performed by the UE 104. The OAM notification 116 may also include report configuration information for generating OAM information based on the OAM resources. In at least one implementation, the OAM notification 116 may be sent via a CSI-RS. In addition, the OAM notification 116 may be accompanied by other types of information, such as time resources, frequency resources, and / or code domain resources for use by the UE 104. Based at least in part on the OAM notification 116, the UE 104 sends an OAM transmission 118 to the base station 102. The OAM transmission 118 may include various types of information, such as a report including OAM mode-based measurements of one or more reference signals for one or more OAM mode resources, data traffic (e.g., uplink signals) sent using the OAM mode resources, etc. Thus, depending on implementation, the base station 102 and the UE 104 may be operable to configure the UE 104 to use different OAM modes for wireless transmission and reception.
[0035] In a wireless communication system, specifications are provided for UE procedures for reporting channel state information (CSI). For example, in Technical Specification (TS) 38.214, a CSI framework is provided. In this framework, the procedures described in this clause for aperiodic CSI reporting assume that the CSI report is triggered by downlink control information (DCI) format 0_1, but these procedures are also applicable to CSI reporting triggered by DCI format 0_2 by applying the higher layer parameter reportTriggerSizeDCI-0-2 instead of reportTriggerSize. The time and frequency resources that can be used by the UE to report CSI can be controlled by the gNB. The CSI may include CQI, PMI, CSI-RS resource indicator (CRI), synchronization signal physical broadcast channel (SS / PBCH) block resource indicator (SSBRI), layer indicator (LI), RI, L1 reference signal received power (RSRP), or L1 signal to interference and noise ratio (SINR).
[0036] For CQI, PMI, CRI, SSBRI, LI, RI, L1-RRP, L1-SINR, the UE is configured by the higher layer with N≥1 CSI-ReportConfig report settings, M≥1 CSI-ResourceConfig resource settings and one or two trigger state lists (given by the higher layer parameters CSI-AperiodicTriggerStateList and CSI-SemiPersistentOnPUSCH-TriggerStateList). Each trigger state in the CSI-AperiodicTriggerStateList contains a list of associated CSI-ReportConfig indicating the resource set ID for the channel and optionally for interference. Each trigger state in the CSI-SemiPersistentOnPUSCH-TriggerState List contains an associated CSI-ReportConfig.
[0037] Each reporting configuration CSI-ReportConfig is associated with a single downlink bandwidth part (BWP) for channel measurement given in the associated CSI-ResourceConfig (indicated by the higher layer parameter BWP-Id), and contains parameter(s) for one CSI reporting band: codebook configuration including codebook subset restrictions, time domain behavior, frequency granularity for CQI and PMI, measurement restriction configuration, and CSI-related quantities to be reported by the UE, such as Layer Indicator (LI), L1-SRP, L1-SINR, CRI and SSBRI (SSB Resource Indicator).
[0038] The time domain behavior of CSI-ReportConfig is indicated by the high-level parameter reportConfigType and can be set to 'aperiodic', 'semiPersistentOnPUCCH', 'semiPersistentOnPUSCH' or 'periodic'. For 'periodic' and 'semiPersistentOnPUCCH' / 'semiPersistentOnPUSCH' CSI reports, the configured period and slot offset apply to the numerology of the uplink BWP in which the CSI report is configured to be sent. The high-level parameter reportQuantity indicates the CSI-related quantity, L1-RSRP-related quantity, or L1-SINR-related quantity to be reported. reportFreqConfiguration indicates the reporting granularity in the frequency domain, including the CSI reporting band, and whether the PMI / CQI report is wideband or subband. The timeRestrictionForChannelMeasurements parameter in CSI-ReportConfig can be configured to enable time domain restrictions for channel measurements, and timeRestrictionForInterferenceMeasurements can be configured to enable time domain restrictions for interference measurements. CSI-ReportConfig may also contain CodebookConfig, which contains configuration parameters for Type-I, Type-II, or enhanced Type-II CSI, including configuration of codebook subset restrictions and group-based reporting.
[0039] Each CSI resource setting CSI-ResourceConfig contains a configuration of a list of S≥1 CSI resource sets (given by the higher-level parameter csi-RS-ResourceSetList), where the list includes references to one or both of (multiple) non-zero power (NZP) CSI-RS resource sets and (multiple) SS / PBCH block sets, or the list includes references to (multiple) CSI interference measurement (CSI-IM) resource sets. Each CSI resource setting is located in a downlink (DL) BWP identified by a higher-level parameter BWP-id, and all CSI resource settings linked to a CSI report setting have the same DL BWP.
[0040] The time domain behavior of the CSI-RS resources in the CSI resource setting can be indicated by the high-level parameter resourceType and can be set to aperiodic, periodic or semi-persistent. For periodic and semi-persistent CSI resource settings, when the UE is configured with groupBasedBeamReporting-r17, the number of configured CSI resource sets is S=2, otherwise the number of configured CSI-RS resource sets is limited to S=1. For periodic and semi-persistent CSI resource settings, the configured period and time slot offset are given in the numerology of their associated DL BWP, as given by BWP-id. When the UE is configured with multiple CSI-ResourceConfigs including the same NZP CSI-RS resource ID, the same time domain behavior should be configured for the CSI-ResourceConfig. When the UE is configured with multiple CSI-ResourceConfigs including the same CSI-IM resource ID, the same time domain behavior should be configured for the CSI-ResourceConfig. All CSI resource settings linked to the CSI report setting should have the same time domain behavior.
[0041] The following may be configured via higher layer signaling for one or more CSI resource settings for channel and interference measurements:
[0042] - CSI-IM resources used for interference measurements as described in clause 5.2.2.4.
[0043] - NZP CSI-RS resources used for interference measurements as described in clause 5.2.2.3.1.
[0044] - NZP CSI-RS resources for channel measurement as described in clause 5.2.2.3.1.
[0045] The UE may assume that the (multiple) NZP CSI-RS resources for channel measurement and the (multiple) CSI-IM resources for interference measurement configured for one CSI report may be quasi co-located (QCLed) per resource with respect to 'typeD'. When the (multiple) NZP CSI-RS resources are used for interference measurement, the UE may assume that the NZP CSI-RS resources for channel measurement and the CSI-IM resources for interference measurement or the (multiple) NZP CSI-RS resources configured for one CSI report may be QCLed per resource with respect to 'typeD'.
[0046] For L1-SINR measurement:
[0047] - When one resource setting is configured, the resource setting (given by the higher layer parameter resourcesForChannelMeasurement) is used for channel and interference measurements on NZP CSI-RS for L1-SINR calculation. The UE may assume the same 1-port NZP CSI-RS resource(s) with density 3 resource elements (REs) and / or resource blocks (RBs) for both channel and interference measurements.
[0048] - When two resource settings are configured, the first resource setting (given by the higher-level parameter resourcesForChannelMeasurement) is used for channel measurement on synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) or NZP CSI-RS, and the second resource setting (given by the higher-level parameter csi-IM-ResourcesForInterference or the higher-level parameter nzp-CSI-RS-ResourcesForInterference) is used for interference measurement on CSI-IM or 1-port NZP CSI-RS with density 3RE / RB, wherein each SSB or NZP CSI-RS resource used for channel measurement is associated with one CSI-IM resource or one NZP CSI-RS resource used for interference measurement, which is achieved by the order of the SSB or NZP CSI-RS resources used for channel measurement and the CSI-IM resources or NZP CSI resources used for interference measurement in the corresponding resource set. The number of (multiple) SSB or CSI-RS resources used for channel measurement is equal to the number of CSI-IM resources or the number of NZP CSI-RS resources used for interference measurement.
[0049] -The UE may apply a 'typeD' RS configured with qcl-Type set to 'typeD', or SSB to the NZP CSI-RS resources for channel measurement as a reference RS to determine the 'typeD' hypothesis of the corresponding CSI-IM resources or the corresponding NZP CSI-RS resources for interference measurement configured for one CSI report.
[0050] - The UE may expect that the NZP CSI-RS resource set for channel measurement and the NZP-CSI-RS resource set for interference measurement (if any) may be configured with higher layer parameter repetition.
[0051] For a reporting configuration, the UE shall calculate the CSI parameters (if reported) assuming the following dependencies between the CSI parameters (if reported)
[0052] - LI should be calculated based on the reported CQI, PMI, RI and CRI
[0053] -CQI should be calculated based on the reported PMI, RI and CRI
[0054] -PMI should be calculated based on reported RI and CRI
[0055] - RI should be calculated based on the reported CRI.
[0056] The reporting configuration for CSI can be aperiodic (using the Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH)), periodic (using the Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH)), or semi-persistent (using PUSCH and DCI-activated PUSCH). CSI-RS resources can be periodic, semi-persistent, or aperiodic. Table 5.2.1.4-1 shows the supported combinations of CSI reporting configurations and CSI-RS resource configurations, and how CSI reporting is triggered for each CSI-RS resource configuration. Periodic CSI-RS is configured by higher layers. Activation and deactivation of semi-persistent CSI-RS is as described in Section 5.2.1.5.2. Configuration and triggering / activation of aperiodic CSI-RS is as described in Section 5.2.1.5.1.
[0057] Table 5.2.1.4-1: Triggering / activation of CSI reporting for possible CSI-RS configurations.
[0058]
[0059] When the UE is configured with the higher layer parameter NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSet and the higher layer parameter repetition is set to 'off', the UE shall determine the CRI according to the supported CRI value set defined in clause 6.3.1.1.2 of [5, TS 38.212] and report this number in each CRI report. When the higher layer parameter repetition is set to 'on', the CRI shall not be reported. When the higher layer parameter codebookType is set to 'typeII', 'typeII-PortSelection', 'typeII-r16' or 'typeII-PortSelection-r16', CRI reporting is not supported.
[0060] For periodic or semi-persistent CSI reporting on PUCCH, the period T CSI (measured in time slots) and the time slot offset T offset This can be configured by the higher layer parameter reportSlotConfig. Unless otherwise specified, the UE shall report the slot in the system frame number (SFN) n f and the timeslot number within the frame The CSI report is sent in the frame satisfying the following formula:
[0061]
[0062] where μ is the subcarrier spacing (SCS) configuration of the uplink BWP on which the CSI report is sent.
[0063] For semi-persistent CSI reporting on PUSCH, the period T CSI (measured in time slots) is configured by the higher layer parameter reportSlotConfig. Unless otherwise specified, the UE shall f and the timeslot number within the frame The CSI report is sent in the frame satisfying the following formula:
[0064]
[0065] in and It can be the SFN and timeslot number, respectively, within the frame of the initial semi-persistent PUSCH transmission corresponding to the activation DCI.
[0066] For semi-persistent or aperiodic CSI reporting on PUSCH, the allowed slot offsets can be configured via the following higher layer parameters:
[0067] - if triggered / activated by DCI format 0_2 and the higher layer parameter reportSlotOffsetListDCI-0-2 is configured, the allowed slot offsets can be configured by reportSlotOffsetListDCI-0-2, and
[0068] - if triggered / activated by DCI format 0_1 and the higher layer parameter reportSlotOffsetListDCI-0-1 is configured, the allowed slot offsets can be configured by reportSlotOffsetListDCI-0-1, and
[0069] - Otherwise, the allowed slot offsets can be configured via the higher layer parameter reportSlotOffsetList.
[0070] The offset is selected in the activating / triggering DCI.
[0071] For CSI reporting, the UE may be configured via higher layer signaling with one of two possible subband sizes, where a subband is defined as contiguous physical resource blocks (PRBs) and depends on the total number of PRBs in the bandwidth part according to Table 5.2.1.4-2.
[0072] Table 5.2.1.4-2: Configurable subband sizes
[0073] Bandwidth Part (PRB) Subband size (PRB) 24–72 4、8 73–144 8、16 145–275 16、32
[0074] The reportFreqConfiguration contained in CSI-ReportConfig indicates the frequency granularity of the CSI report. The CSI report configuration defines the CSI reporting frequency band as a subset of the subbands of the bandwidth part, where reportFreqConfiguration indicates:
[0075] -csi-ReportingBand, which is a contiguous or non-contiguous subset of subbands in the bandwidth part for which CSI should be reported.
[0076] - The UE does not expect to be configured with a CSI-ReportingBand containing a subband in which the frequency density of CSI-RS resources linked to a CSI reporting setup per CSI-RS port per PRB in the subband is less than the configured density of CSI-RS resources.
[0077] - If a CSI-IM resource is linked to a CSI reporting setting, the UE does not expect to be configured with a csi-ReportingBand containing subbands where not all PRBs in the subband have CSI-IM REs present.
[0078] - Wideband CQI or subband CQI reporting, as configured by the higher layer parameter cqi-FormatIndicator. When wideband CQI reporting is configured, a wideband CQI is reported for each codeword for the entire CSI reporting band. When subband CQI reporting is configured, one CQI is reported for each codeword for each subband in the CSI reporting band.
[0079] - Wideband PMI or subband PMI reporting, as configured by the higher layer parameter pmi-FormatIndicator. When wideband PMI reporting is configured, the wideband PMI is reported for the entire CSI reporting band. When subband PMI reporting is configured, a single wideband indication (i in clause 5.2.2.2) is reported for the entire CSI reporting band except for 2 antenna ports. 1 ), and for each subband in the CSI reporting band, report 1 subband indication (i in clause 5.2.2.2) 2 ). When the subband PMI can be configured with 2 antenna ports, the PMI is reported for each subband in the CSI reporting band.
[0080] - If codebookType is set to 'typeII-r16' or 'typeII-PortSelection-r16', the UE is not expected to be configured with pmi-FormatIndicator.
[0081] A CSI reporting setup is said to have wideband frequency granularity if
[0082] -reportQuantity is set to 'cri-RI-PMI-CQI' or 'cri-RI-LI-PMI-CQI', cqi-FormatIndicator is set to 'widebandCQI', and pmi-FormatIndicator is set to 'widebandPMI', or
[0083] -reportQuantity is set to 'cri-RI-i1', or
[0084] -reportQuantity is set to 'cri-RI-CQI' or 'cri-RI-i1-CQI', and cqi-FormatIndicator is set to 'widebandCQI', or
[0085] -reportQuantity is set to 'cri-RSRP' or 'ssb-Index-RSRP' or 'cri-SINR' or 'ssb-Index-SINR'
[0086] Otherwise, the CSI reporting setting is said to have sub-band frequency granularity.
[0087] If the UE is configured with a CSI reporting setup for a bandwidth part with less than 24 PRBs, the CSI reporting setup shall have wideband frequency granularity and the higher layer parameter codebookType is set to 'typeI-SinglePanel' if applicable.
[0088] For resource setting configuration, for aperiodic CSI, if groupBasedBeamReporting-r17 is not configured, each trigger state configured using the high-level parameter CSI-AperiodicTriggerState is associated with one or more CSI-ReportConfigs, where each CSI-ReportConfig is linked to (multiple) periodic, or semi-persistent, or aperiodic resource settings:
[0089] - When a resource setting is configured, the resource setting (given by the higher layer parameter resourcesForChannelMeasurement) is used for channel measurement for L1-RRP or channel and interference measurement for L1-SINR calculation.
[0090] - When two resource settings can be configured, the first resource setting (given by the higher-level parameter resourcesForChannelMeasurement) is used for channel measurement and the second resource setting (given by the higher-level parameter csi-IM-ResourcesForInterference or the higher-level parameter nzp-CSI-RS-ResourcesForInterference) is used for interference measurements performed on CSI-IM or NZP CSI-RS.
[0091] -When three resource settings can be configured, the first resource setting (given by the higher-level parameter resourcesForChannelMeasurement) is used for channel measurement, the second resource setting (given by the higher-level parameter csi-IM-ResourcesForInterference) is used for CSI-IM based interference measurement, and the third resource setting (given by the higher-level parameter nzp-CSI-RS-ResourcesForInterference) is used for NZP CSI-RS based interference measurement.
[0092] For aperiodic CSI and periodic and semi-persistent CSI resource settings, if groupBasedBeamReporting-r17 is configured, each trigger state configured using the higher layer parameter CSI-AperiodicTriggerState is associated with one or more CSI-ReportConfigs, where each CSI-ReportConfig is linked to (multiple) periodic or semi-persistent settings:
[0093] - When one resource setting is configured, the resource setting is given by resourcesForChannelMeasurement for L1-RSRP measurement. In this case, the number of configured CSI resource sets in the resource setting is S=2
[0094] For aperiodic CSI and aperiodic CSI resource settings, if groupBasedBeamReporting-r17 is configured, each trigger state configured using the higher layer parameter CSI-AperiodicTriggerState is associated with resourcesForChannel and resourcesForChannel2 corresponding to the first resource set and the second resource set for L1-SRP measurement, respectively.
[0095] For semi-persistent or periodic CSI, each CSI-ReportConfig is linked to (multiple) periodic or semi-persistent resource settings:
[0096] - When a resource setting (given by the higher layer parameter resourcesForChannelMeasurement) is configured, this resource setting is used for channel measurement for L1-RRP or channel and interference measurement for L1-SINR calculation.
[0097] - When two resource settings can be configured, the first resource setting (given by the higher-level parameter resourcesForChannelMeasurement) is used for channel measurement and the second resource setting (given by the higher-level parameter csi-IM-ResourcesForInterference) is used for interference measurement performed on CSI-IM. For L1-SINR calculation, the second resource setting (given by the higher-level parameter csi-IM-ResourcesForInterference or the higher-level parameter nzp-CSI-RS-ResourcesForInterference) is used for interference measurement performed on CSI-IM or NZP CSI-RS.
[0098] For CSI-ReportConfig where the higher layer parameter codebookType is set to 'typeII', 'typeII-PortSelection', 'typeII-r16', 'typeII-PortSelection-r16' or 'typeII-PortSelection-r17', the UE is not expected to be configured with more than one CSI-RS resource in the resource set for channel measurement. For CSI-ReportConfig where the higher layer parameter reportQuantity is set to 'none', 'cri-RI-CQI', 'cri-RSRP', 'ssb-Index-RSRP', 'cri-SINR' or 'ssb-Index-SINR', the UE is not expected to be configured with more than 64 NZP CSI-RS resources and / or SS / PBCH block resources in the resource set for channel measurement. If interference measurement is performed on CSI-IM, each CSI-RS resource used for channel measurement is associated with the CSI-IP resource resource by the order of the CSI-RS resources and CSI-IM resources in the corresponding resource set. The number of CSI-RS resources used for channel measurement is equal to the number of CSI-IM resources.
[0099] With 2≤K s NZP CSI-RS resource sets for channel measurement with ≤8 resources can be configured with two resource groups, where group 1 has K 1 ≥1 resource, group 2 has K 2 ≥ 1 resource, so that K 1 +K 2 =K s , and there are N∈{1,2} resource pairs. Each resource pair includes one resource from group 1 and one resource from group 2. The same resource may be associated with two resource pairs in frequency range 1 but not in frequency range 2.
[0100] In addition to L1-SINR, if interference measurement is performed on NZP CSI-RS, the UE does not expect to be configured with more than one NZP CSI-RS resource in the associated resource set within the resource settings for channel measurement. In addition to L1-SINR, a UE configured with the higher layer parameter nzp-CSI-RS-ResourcesForInterference may expect to be configured with no more than 18 NZP CSI-RS ports in the NZP CSI-RS resource set.
[0101] For CSI measurement(s) other than L1-SINR, the UE assumes:
[0102] - Each NZP CSI-RS port configured for interference measurement corresponds to an interfering transmission layer.
[0103] - All interfering transmission layers on the NZP CSI-RS port for interference measurement take into account the associated energy per resource element (EPRE) ratio configured in 5.2.2.3.1;
[0104] - Other interference signals on REs of NZP CSI-RS resources for channel measurement, NZP-CSI-RS resources for interference measurement, or CSI-IM resources for interference measurement.
[0105] For L1-SINR measurement with dedicated interference measurement resources, the UE assumes:
[0106] - The total received power on the dedicated NZP CSI-RS resources for interference measurement or the dedicated CSI-IM resources for interference measurement corresponds to the interference and noise.
[0107] For reporting quantity configuration, the UE may be configured with a CSI-ReportConfig where the higher layer parameter reportQuantity is set to 'none', 'cri-RI-PMI-CQI', 'cri-RI-i1', 'cri-RI-i1-CQI', 'cri-RI-CQI', 'cri-RSRP', 'cri-SINR', 'ssb-Index-RSRP', 'ssb-Index-SINR' or 'cri-RI-LI-PMI-CQI'. If the UE is configured with a CSI-ReportConfig where the higher layer parameter reportQuantity is set to 'none', the UE shall not report any quantity of the CSI-ReportConfig.
[0108] If the UE is configured with CSI-ReportConfig where the higher layer parameter reportQuantity is set to 'cri-RI-PMI-CQI' or 'cri-RI-LI-PMI-CQI', the UE shall report the preferred precoder matrix for the entire reporting band, or the preferred precoder matrix for each subband according to clause 5.2.2.2.
[0109] If the UE is configured with CSI-ReportConfig where the higher layer parameter reportQuantity is set to 'cri-RI-i1', then
[0110] - For this CSI-ReportConfig, the UE is expected to be configured with the higher layer parameter codebookType set to 'typeI-SinglePanel' and the higher layer parameter pmi-FormatIndicator set to 'widebandPMI', and
[0111] - The UE shall report a single wideband indication covering the entire CSI reporting band (i in clause 5.2.2.2.1 1 )’s PMI.
[0112] If the UE is configured with CSI-ReportConfig where the higher layer parameter reportQuantity is set to 'cri-RI-i1-CQI',
[0113] - for this CSI-ReportConfig, the UE is expected to be configured with the higher layer parameter codebookType set to 'typeI-SinglePanel' and the higher layer parameter pmi-FormatIndicator set to 'widebandPMI', and
[0114] - The UE shall report a single wideband indication for the entire CSI reporting band (i in clause 5.2.2.2.1). 1 )’s PMI. The CQI is calculated based on the reported i 1 , assuming that the physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission uses N p ≥ 1 precoder (corresponding to the same i in clause 5.2.2.2.1 1 But different 2 ), where the UE assumes that N p A precoder is randomly selected from a set of precoders, where the PRG size used for CQI calculation is configured by a high-level parameter pdsch-BundleSizeForCSI.
[0115] If the UE is configured with CSI-ReportConfig where the higher layer parameter reportQuantity is set to 'cri-RI-CQI',
[0116] - If the UE is configured with the higher layer parameter non-PMI-PortIndication contained in CSI-ReportConfig, the r ports may be indicated in layer sorting order of rank r and each CSI-RS resource in the CSI resource setting is linked to the CSI-ReportConfig based on the order of the associated NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceId in the linked CSI resource setting for channel measurement given by the higher layer parameter resourcesForChannelMeasurement. The configured higher layer parameter non-PMI-PortIndication contains the port index sequence, where It can be the CSI-RS port index associated with rank ν and R∈{1,2,...,P}, where P∈{1,2,4,8} is the number of ports in the CSI-RS resource. The UE shall only report the RI corresponding to the configured field of PortIndexFor8Ranks.
[0117] - If the UE is not configured with the higher layer parameter non-PMI-PortIndication, then for each CSI-RS resource in the CSI resource setting linked to CSI-ReportConfig, the UE assumes the CSI-RS port index It can be associated with a rank v = 1, 2, ..., P, where P∈{1, 2, 4, 8} is the number of ports in the CSI-RS resource.
[0118] - When calculating the CQI for a rank, the UE shall use the ports indicated for that rank for the selected CSI-RS resources. The precoder used for the indicated ports shall be assumed to be The identity matrix to perform the scaling.
[0119] If the UE is configured with CSI-ReportConfig where the higher layer parameter reportQuantity is set to 'cri-RSRP' or 'ssb-Index-RSRP',
[0120] - If the UE is configured with the higher layer parameter groupBasedBeamReporting set to 'disabled', the UE does not need to update the measurement of more than 64 CSI-RS and / or SSB resources and the UE shall report a different CRI or SSBRI for each reporting setting in a single report nrofReportedRS (configured by higher layers).
[0121] - If the UE is configured with the higher layer parameter groupBasedBeamReporting set to 'enabled', the UE does not need to update the measurement of more than 64 CSI-RS and / or SSB resources and the UE shall report two different CRIs or SSBRIs for each reporting setting in a single reporting instance, where the CSI-RS and / or SSB resources can be received simultaneously by the UE with a single spatial receive filter or with multiple simultaneous spatial receive filters.
[0122] - If the UE is configured with the higher layer parameter groupBasedBeamReporting-r17, then
[0123] The UE does not need to update measurements for more than 64 CSI-RS and / or SSB resources and the UE shall report (multiple) groups of two CRI or SSBRI in a single reporting instance nrofReportedRSgroup (if configured) to select one CSI-RS or SSB from each of the two CSI resource sets for the reporting setup, where each group of CSI-RS and / or SSB resources can be received by the UE simultaneously.
[0124] If the UE is configured with CSI-ReportConfig where the higher layer parameter reportQuantity is set to 'cri-SINR' or 'ssb-Index-SINR',
[0125] - If the UE is configured with the higher layer parameter groupBasedBeamReporting set to 'disabled', the UE shall report a different CRI or SSBRI for each reporting setting in a single report nrofReportedRS (configured by higher layers).
[0126] - If the UE is configured with the higher layer parameter groupBasedBeamReporting set to 'enabled', the UE shall report two different CRIs or SSBRIs for each reporting setting in a single reporting instance, where CSI-RS and / or SSB resources may be received simultaneously by the UE.
[0127] In some wireless communication systems, wireless communication designs are built on planar electromagnetic waves. However, electromagnetic waves have not only linear momentum, but also angular momentum, which includes spin angular momentum (SAM) or OAM. OAM is a wavefront with a spiral phase OAM and a large amount of topological charge, called OAM mode. Beams with different OAM modes are orthogonal to each other and can be multiplexed / demultiplexed together, thereby increasing capacity without relying on traditional resources such as time and frequency.
[0128] Figure 2 An OAM mode 200 including five different OAM modes L of an OAM wave is depicted. (Reference: Wikipedia by E-karimi, licensed under Create Commons BY-SA 3.0, https: / / en.wikipedia.org / wiki / Orbital_angular_momentum_of_light ). OAM is formed by microscopic particles moving in a circle along the propagation direction, which is related to the spatial distribution of the particles. It is represented macroscopically as a vortex beam carrying a wavefront phase factor exp(jlφ), where "L" is the topological charge or azimuthal order or index of the wave, or even the roll index, and determines the number of OAM modes, and "φ" represents the launch phase angle or roll angle.
[0129] Figure 3 An example beamforming 300 of OAM modes is illustrated. For example, beamforming 300 includes OAM modes 0, 1, and 2 using a uniform circular array (UCA) including 8 antenna elements. (Reference: Applied Science 2019, 9, 1729; doi: 10.3390 / app9091729, licensed under Creative Commons BY 4.0). In order to generate a beam carrying OAM mode n (L=n), the antenna element can be connected to a phase shifter that performs n×360 degree rotation. For example, the UCA of the antenna element can be used for OAM mode transmission and reception. Note that a single UCA or multiple UCAs can be used for multiple OAM mode generation. In the former case, superimposed beams can be sent by a single UCA. In the latter case, concentric multiple UCAs can be used. Separation of beams carrying OAM modes can be performed in a manner similar to generation using antenna elements connected to phase shifters, where the phase shifters have relative rotation directions. For example, when the number of antenna elements used is greater than 2n, the n×360 degree rotations are orthogonal to each other. Therefore, each OAM mode can be separated from the signals of the mixed OAM modes without aliasing. This beam separation can also be performed by using a single UCA or multiple UCAs, just like in beamforming.
[0130] In terms of multimode OAM, UE configuration for operation and reporting of OAM modes is provided. For example, the network sends a channel state CSI-RS configuration associated with multiple OAM modes to the UE. The resources of CSI can be configured in the time domain, frequency domain, and code domain, or in the angular wave propagation domain corresponding to different OAM modes. For example, this provides additional orthogonal dimensions to increase the number of orthogonal ports. For example, the same time domain, frequency domain, and code domain resources can be used for each orthogonal angular mode of OAM.
[0131] This type of resource mapping can be advantageous in situations where multiple modes are excited simultaneously. For example, if OAM is applied to an existing wireless framework, this can enable a single-port CSI-RS to occupy a single resource element within a block corresponding to a resource block in the frequency domain, a time slot in the time domain, and an OAM mode in the angular domain. In addition, a multi-port CSI-RS can enable multiple CSI-RS orthogonally transmitted by each antenna port to share a total set of resource elements allocated for the configured multi-port CSI-RS. For example, in addition to code domain, frequency domain, and time domain sharing, angular domain sharing (OAM mode) can also be included. For example, angular domain sharing enables different CSI-RS per line port to be sent on the same set of resource elements, where separation is achieved by modulating the CSI-RS with different OAM modes.
[0132] In an implementation, the relationship between different domains (e.g., frequency domain, time domain, and OAM domain) is embedded in the CSI-RS sequence generation process, where CSI-RS sequences for different OAM modes are generated separately and can be predefined. In this case, the OAM mode number information can be used to distinguish the CSI-RS sequence at the receiver, where this can be configured through RRC. In at least one implementation, the CSI-RS for each OAM mode in the OAM mode can be generated by different types of sequences, such as Gold, Golay, etc. In an alternative or additional implementation, the CSI-RS is also scrambled with other sequences, each of which represents an OAM mode, so as to distinguish between different OAM mode RSs. In addition, the CSI-RS for each OAM mode in the OAM mode can also be generated by sequences of the same sequence type but different lengths.
[0133] In implementation, OAM mode specific information is used to initialize each CSI-RS sequence to identify different CSIs ordered for different OAM modes. For example, using the current CSI-RS generation process, the UE may assume a reference signal sequence r(m) defined by:
[0134]
[0135] The pseudo-random sequence c(i) can be defined by a Gold sequence of length 31. In the case of OAM, at the beginning of each orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol, the pseudo-random sequence generator can be initialized as follows:
[0136]
[0137] in is the timeslot number within the radio frame, l is the OFDM symbol number within the timeslot, b is the OAM mode number, n IDEqual to the high-level parameter scramblingID or sequenceGenerationConfig. When configuring CSI-RS parameters, the mode number information can be configured separately through RRC signaling.
[0138] In implementation, the UE may be configured such that the CSI-RS is mapped to the frequency, time, angle (e.g., OAM mode) resource elements for each configured CSI-RS. For example, the UE may assume that the above sequence r(m) is being mapped to resource elements (k, l, b) according to the following equation: p,μ
[0139]
[0140] Where k represents the resource element position in the frequency domain.
[0141] In implementation, in addition to the time and frequency domains, the CDM between different per-antenna-port CSI-RS can also be extended in the angular domain, for example for OAM modes. Adding the third dimension increases the number of ports and provides flexibility in configuring CSI resources for multiple UEs. In this case, the sequence mapping to resource elements can be
[0142] where w t (l′) and w f (k′) defines the CDM orthogonal sequence in time and frequency, and w a (b') defines an orthogonal sequence (eg, OAM mode) in the angular domain.
[0143] In implementation, the OAM mode number b is configured via RRC using a bit table, where a bit table corresponding to the mode number may be defined based on a specified number of defined OAM modes. For example, the zero OAM mode may be used as a reference, and index values corresponding to other modes may be used, e.g., for the zero OAM mode, no value is indicated, but the zero OAM mode is considered the default mode. In the example of five OAM modes defined by positive and negative integers (e.g., -2, -1, 0, 1, 2), a two-bit table indicating OAM modes -2, -1 and 1, 2 may be used.
[0144] In an implementation, a specific antenna port may be associated with each different OAM mode. For example, two CSI-RS antenna ports in a CSI-RS resource (e.g., on different CDM groups) may be associated with different OAM mode indices. In at least one implementation, a new mapping of antenna ports is configured, where the OAM mode index is used to map CSI resources to antenna ports in addition to the time and frequency indices.
[0145] In an implementation, the configuration mapped to the physical resources includes a pattern of different OAM modes, according to which the sequence values are mapped to different patterns, different time symbols, different resource elements (REs), or a combination thereof. For example, the pattern is obtained by indexing a as or or To be defined.
[0146] In implementation, a single OAM mode is activated on one time resource. Therefore, mapping of CSI-RS resources can be done to achieve flexibility of OAM modes, where an indication of the active OAM mode is added. In some examples, a CSI-RS resource is defined to have multiple time modes, where each time mode corresponds to an indicated OAM mode.
[0147] In an implementation, the CSI resources may be configured such that each CSI resource identifier (ID) is associated with at least one OAM mode. For example, CSI-RS ID 1 may be associated with time and frequency resource 1, beam 1, and / or OAM mode 1. This implementation is particularly beneficial in cases where the OAM modes are separated in time, where such association may be configured via RRC signaling. For example, this may be configured via an NZP-CSI-RS-Resource information element, where the OAM mode in the configuration may be explicitly determined (e.g., by an indication of an OAM mode in the configuration), or associated with a default and / or implicitly linked OAM mode type, such as an OAM mode acquired during initial access. If no OAM mode is indicated, the UE may determine a default mode, such as mode 0.
[0148] In implementations, CSI configurations with OAM patterns may be aperiodic (e.g., using PUSCH), periodic (e.g., using PUCCH), or semi-persistent (e.g., using PUCCH and DCI-activated PUSCH). For example, new RS types may be configured for OAM pattern-based measurements, which may be periodic, aperiodic, and semi-persistent. In implementations, the CSI-RS resource configuration includes an indication of multiple OAM patterns for which the receiver may perform CSI measurements, report the acquired measurements, or a combination thereof.
[0149] The implementation also provides a CSI report with an OAM mode indication. For example, the CSI report can be enhanced to indicate channel characteristics corresponding to different OAM modes. For example, CSI resources corresponding to one and / or multiple OAM modes can be configured to the UE by the network concurrently (e.g., simultaneously) or separately (e.g., at different time indexes). In the implementation, the propagation channel related quantities (e.g., CQI, PMI, and RI) can be additionally coupled with the OAM mode and indicated in the report, which indicates which quantity corresponds to which OAM mode. In addition, the reported quantity can be enhanced to indicate the corresponding OAM mode for the quantity. For example, the UE can be configured with a CSI report configuration information element (e.g., CSI-ReportConfig), in which the high-level parameter reportQuantity is set to a value such as 'cri-RI-PMI-CQI-Modei', 'cri-RI-CQI-Modei', 'cri-RI-LI-PMI-CQI-Modei' or 'Modei', where the abbreviation Modei (OAM mode index) represents an example for indicating the OAM mode in the quantity to be reported by the UE.
[0150] In implementation, the OAM mode may be reported by the UE using a separate field in the report (e.g., reportModelQuantity), where the inclusion of this field may be configured via RRC signaling (e.g., in CSI-ReportConfig) or using lower layer signaling. Based on the measurements, the UE may indicate at least one index corresponding to a single or multiple OAM modes.
[0151] In implementation, the UE is configured to report a list of OAM modes based on channel conditions. For example, the OAM modes may be reported in order, such as in descending order of signal quality. Based on the reports, the network may determine which mode is appropriate for which UE. For example, the UE issues multiple reports, each of which is specific to a particular OAM mode. Alternatively or additionally, a single report may be used to report multiple OAM modes.
[0152] In implementation, the OAM reporting mechanism can be indicated to the UE through the same RRC signaling used to configure the CSI report. In addition, the OAM reporting mechanism can be selected autonomously by the UE or based on the CSI resource configuration. For example, in the OAM mode domain, when the CSI resources of multiple modes are orthogonal, a single report can be used to define channel properties for different OAM modes. If the CSI resources configured for different OAM modes utilize different time resources, different reports can be used to indicate the channel properties of the OAM mode.
[0153] In an implementation, the CSI report may include an indication of the number of non-zero OAM modes observed at the receiver, such as according to an OAM mode report configuration. For example, for an OAM mode report, the network may indicate an OAM mode energy threshold. As part of the OAM mode report, the UE may transmit information about a set of supported OAM modes for transmission, reception, or both transmission and reception. In addition, the UE may report the supported OAM modes to the network via a UE capability information element. In at least some implementations, a UE reporting OAM mode information may indicate a preference for a particular OAM mode and / or OAM mode set.
[0154] In an implementation, the UE may be configured to measure and report a measure of OAM mode dispersion as part of CSI measurement and reporting. For example, based on the measured OAM mode dispersion, the energy of an excited OAM mode at the UE transmitter may be spread to other OAM modes at the UE receiver.

[0209] As used herein, including in the claims, "or" used in a list of items (e.g., a list of items beginning with a phrase such as "at least one of..." or "one or more of...") represents an inclusive list, so that, for example, a list of at least one of A, B, or C represents A or B or C or AB or AC or BC or ABC (i.e., A and B and C). Similarly, a list of one or more of A, B, or C represents A or B or C or AB or AC or BC or ABC (i.e., A and B and C). In addition, as used herein, the phrase "based on" should not be interpreted as a reference to a set of closed conditions. For example, an example step described as "based on condition A" may be based on both condition A and condition B without departing from the scope of the present disclosure. In other words, as used herein, the phrase "based on" should be interpreted in the same manner as the phrase "based at least in part on". In addition, as used herein, including in the claims, a "set" may include one or more elements.
[0210] The descriptions described herein in conjunction with the accompanying drawings describe example configurations and do not represent all examples that may be implemented or within the scope of the claims. The term "example" as used herein means "used as an example, instance, or illustration," rather than "preferred" or "better than other examples." The detailed description includes specific details to facilitate understanding of the described techniques. However, these techniques may be practiced without these specific details. In some cases, known structures and devices are shown in block diagram form to avoid confusing the concepts of the described examples.
