Description

Background Art

[0001] Diffusers are common household products that users use to disperse essential oils through clouds of vapor. While this can be done in a variety of ways, fluid atomizers are a common way to diffuse scented oils. A common arrangement for atomizing diffusers is to have an oil reservoir with a device (e.g., a small tube or pipette) that transfers the oil from the oil reservoir to a diffusion mechanism (e.g., an atomizer) so that it can be vaporized. When the oil reservoir is empty, the user typically refills it. During this process, as the diffuser components are separated, residual oil often drips from the components that extend into the reservoir, forming a sticky mass over time. Therefore, there remains a need for a device that allows the user to refill the diffuser with oil in a drip-free manner.

[0002] For those selling diffuser products, offering oil refills is a great way to encourage further consumption by consumers and ensure that high-quality oils are used. However, consumers sometimes turn to third parties to purchase essential oils, even low-priced essential oils, to refill their diffusers. This can result in some consumers using low-quality essential oils that may contain harmful chemicals and / or introducing liquids that may impair the function of the diffuser. Therefore, there is a need to ensure high-quality refill essential oils for diffusers and increase return business. Summary of the invention

[0003] According to one aspect, a diffuser can be configured with a disposable container disposed in the cavity of the diffuser. The disposable container is initially filled with oil (e.g., essential oil) and sealed with a lid, which is, for example, immovably attached to the only opening of the container by adhesive and / or press-fit. Once the initial amount of oil is evaporated, the lid prevents the user from refilling the container with replacement oil and requires the user to obtain a disposable replacement container to continue using the diffuser. The lid may include a diffuser mechanism housed in an internal portion, such as an atomizer configured for cold air diffusion, a small tube extending therefrom, and an oil regulator attached to the end of the small tube. Once all the components of the lid are assembled and / or bonded together, the lid is irreversibly mounted in the hole of the container. Once the lid is installed, the container becomes a disposable container, which can then be attached to a part of a diffuser specifically designed to receive such a container, such as a threaded engagement.

[0004] In another aspect, the diffuser device may include an upper portion, a lower portion, and a disposable fragrance. The upper portion may include an internal connector and an external connector. The lower portion may include an upper connector at a top end, which may be configured to be connected to the external connector of the upper portion and may define an inner cavity having an opening at the top end. The disposable fragrance container may be configured to be attached to the internal connector of the upper portion and may be assembled into the inner cavity of the lower portion, so that the atomizer is immovably disposed in the disposable fragrance container.

[0005] In some arrangements, the disposable fragrance container may include a stopper that may be configured to accommodate an atomizer and prevent a user from refilling the disposable fragrance container. In addition, the stopper may be inseparable from the disposable container. In some such arrangements, a hollow cylinder with openings at both ends may extend from the atomizer so that the hollow cylinder extends toward the bottom of the disposable fragrance container. The hollow cylinder may define a top opening and a bottom opening. In this arrangement, a regulator may be disposed at the bottom opening of the hollow cylinder. In some such arrangements, the stopper and the disposable fragrance container may be press-fitted together so that the first and second parts of the stopper are inserted into the hole of the disposable container. The first part may define a larger diameter than the second part. In some such arrangements, the larger diameter of the first part may be at least 1 mm larger than the diameter defined by the second part of the stopper.

[0006] In some arrangements, the diffuser device may further include a base portion connected to the bottom end of the lower portion such that the longitudinal axis of the base portion is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the lower portion. The base portion may enable the lower portion to stand upright on a surface such that the longitudinal axis of the lower portion is perpendicular to the surface and the longitudinal axis of the base portion is parallel to the surface. In some such arrangements, the diffuser device may further include a battery disposed within the lower portion such that the battery is configured to provide power to the diffuser. In such an arrangement, the battery may be a rechargeable battery. In such an arrangement, the rechargeable battery may be configured to be recharged by an inductive charger. In such an arrangement, the inductive charger may include an outer frame with a shallow basin configured to receive the base portion.

[0007] In some arrangements, the disposable fragrance container is a bottle having a volume of at least 60 mL. In some arrangements, the disposable fragrance container is attached to the internal connector of the upper portion by a thread.

[0008] In some arrangements, the disposable fragrance container includes a plug that is press-fitted into a hole in the disposable fragrance container, the plug defining an outer portion and an inner portion so that the inner portion can accommodate an atomizer having a hollow cylinder with openings at both ends extending therefrom. The hollow cylinder can have a regulator attached to the bottom opening of the hollow cylinder. The atomizer, the hollow cylinder, and the regulator can be in communication so that liquid can enter the regulator and flow through the hollow cylinder to the atomizer.

[0009] According to another aspect, the diffuser can be reloaded by a process. During this process, the lower portion of the diffuser can be detached from the upper portion. Next, the lower portion can be separated from the upper portion so that the first fragrance container attached to the upper portion is exposed, and the first fragrance can accommodate the first atomizer, so that the first fragrance container and the first atomizer are inseparable. Then, the first fragrance container can be detached from the upper portion. Subsequently, the second fragrance container accommodating the second atomizer can be attached to the upper portion, and then the lower portion can be reattached to the upper portion of the diffuser. The second fragrance atomizer can be inseparably connected to the second fragrance container. In some such arrangements, the process may further include placing the diffuser on an inductive charger configured to wirelessly recharge a battery contained in the diffuser.

[0010] According to another aspect, a diffuser system may include a diffuser, a disposable fragrance container, and a certain amount of scented liquid disposed in the disposable fragrance container. The diffuser may include an upper portion, a lower portion, and a battery. The upper portion may include an internal connector and an external connector. The lower portion may include an upper connector at the top end, the upper connector being configured to be connected to the external connector of the upper portion and may define an inner cavity having an opening at the top end of the lower portion. The battery may be housed in the lower portion. The disposable fragrance container may be configured to be attached to the internal connector of the upper portion and may be assembled into the inner cavity of the lower portion. In addition, the disposable fragrance container may accommodate an atomizer that is inseparably connected to the disposable fragrance container. In some such arrangements, the diffuser system may include a disposable replacement container that may accommodate a replacement atomizer. The disposable replacement container may be configured to be attached to the internal connector of the upper portion after the disposable fragrance container is detached from the upper portion of the diffuser. In some such arrangements, the disposable fragrance container and the disposable replacement container contain different scented liquids. In addition, the disposable fragrance container and the disposable replacement container can be configured such that if an attempt is made to refill the disposable container by removing the plug containing the atomizer from the disposable fragrance container, the disposable container will not be usable with the diffuser system. In some such arrangements, the battery in the diffuser system can be a rechargeable battery. In some such arrangements, the diffuser system can include an inductive charger configured to wirelessly charge the rechargeable battery. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0026] The present disclosure relates to a diffuser configured to use an oil container that cannot be refilled or reused, i.e., a disposable container. Various embodiments described herein refer to an electronic diffuser powered by either a battery or a power outlet. Additionally, the diffusion method may include, but is not limited to, ultrasound or a nebulizer (e.g., atomization).

[0027] Now refer to the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 to Figure 2 As shown, the diffuser 1 may include an upper portion 10, a lower portion 20 and a charger 30 that support and are connected to the upper portion 10. The upper portion 10 and the lower portion 20 may have the same outer diameter so that various internal components of the diffuser 1 may be accommodated, such as but not limited to a stopper 40, a pipette 50, a regulator 60, and a container 70. The pipette 50 may have two open ends and may be configured to extend from the stopper 40 or be attached to the stopper 40 at one end so that the regulator 60 may be connected to the other end of the pipette 50. The container 70 may be configured to receive the regulator 60, the pipette 50, and the stopper 40 all attached together. The stopper 40 may be configured to be attached to the container 70 in a non-detachable manner (disclosed in detail below). The lower portion may be configured to receive the container 70 and accommodate it in the inner cavity 24 (such as Fig.11 As shown), when the diffuser 1 is assembled, most of the container 70 is positioned in the inner cavity 24 of the lower part 20, and the upper part 10 can be configured to engage and connect with a portion of the container 70 so that the container can be removably attached to the upper part.

[0028] Reference now Figure 3 to Figure 4 , the upper portion 10 may include a top cover 12 having a top hole 12a, a bottom cover 13 having a bottom hole 14 and an external connector 16, an outer shell 11 configured to be attached to the top cover 12 and the bottom cover 13 at opposite ends, and an air tube 17b extending from an air pump 17a. The openings at both ends of the outer shell 11 may define a diameter slightly larger than the diameter of the top cover 12 and the bottom cover 13, so that the outer shell 11 can receive and be attached to the top cover 12 and the bottom cover 13 at their respective ends. The bottom hole 14 can be configured to receive and be threadably attached to an oil container, such as the container 70. The bottom cover 13 can further include grooves 15, which correspond to similar structures provided on the lower portion 20 (discussed in detail below) to facilitate the connection between the upper portion 10 and the lower portion 20 of the diffuser 1. The outer shell 11 can be a cylindrical structure with two open ends and is configured to accommodate, in addition to other components, an air pump 17a and an air tube 17b, so that air can be passed from the air pump through the air tube (see Figure 4 The solid arrow in the figure) and the plug 40 enter the container 70. Additionally, the outer shell 11 can be configured to accommodate the steam pipe 19b and the internal components 18, which are arranged to form an upper chamber 19a and a lower chamber 19c, so that the steam passage (see Figure 4 The dotted arrow in the figure) can extend from the bottom hole 14 to the top hole 12a, and introduce the vaporized oil particles into the top hole of the diffuser 1. The lower chamber 19c can receive steam particles from the lower part 20 through the bottom hole 14, and can be arranged to introduce the steam particles into the steam pipe 19b, which can transport the steam channel around the air pump 17a. Then, each of the steam pipes 19b can be connected to the upper chamber 19a at the upper end, so that the steam particles can pass through the upper chamber 19a before flowing out of the diffuser 1. The shape and internal features of the upper chamber 19a and the lower chamber 19c can be used to filter the steam particles, that is, to intercept the heavy steam particles and allow the lighter steam particles to rise and be discharged from the top hole 12a. In this way, the light vaporized particle mist is distributed from the diffuser 1 in a concentrated and controllable manner. In addition, the upper chamber 19a can be arranged together with other internal components, for example, such as Figure 4 As shown, this hollow chamber can help reduce the sound frequency generated by the air pump 17a. In this way, the diffuser 1 can distribute the vaporized particles in a quiet manner.

[0029] Now please refer to FIG. 5A to FIG. 5B, the pipette 50 can be disposed between the stopper 40 and the regulator 60, so that the pipette provides a conduit for the oil to move from the regulator 60 to the stopper 40. For example, Figure 5A As shown, one open end of the pipette 50 can be positioned within the neck 61 of the regulator 60, and then the other open end of the pipette 50 can be connected to the stopper 40. Alternatively, the regulator 60, the pipette 50 and the stopper 40 can be an integral component. The regulator 60 may include an inlet hole 62 for receiving and facilitating the entry of liquid oil from the container 70 into the diffuser mechanism, and the regulator is configured to filter impurities and separate the oil into smaller droplets that are drawn into the pipette 50. The oil can be pushed into the inlet hole 62 of the regulator 60 by compressed air in the container 70, and the compressed air can be generated by the air pump 17a pumping air into the container 70. The compressed air continues to push the oil into the regulator 60 and moves upward through the pipette 50 until the oil enters the atomizer 49 through the water outlet 43, in the atomizer 49, the oil may be distributed into a nanoparticle spray after passing through the atomizer (see Figure 5B Once dispensed from the nebulizer 49, the air pump 17a pumps air into the container 70 through the inlet port 48a, forcing the oil particles to flow through the outlet port 42a. In this way, the oil can pass through the regulator 60 and the pipette 50 to the diffuser mechanism (e.g., nebulizer) for vaporization.

[0030] Now please refer to FIG. 5A to FIG. 8 , the plug 40 may include an inner portion 42 and an outer portion 41 surrounding the inner portion. The outer portion 41 of the plug 40 may be a sleeve-like structure having an open end and an inner cavity large enough to surround the inner portion 42. Steam vents 46 may be positioned around the inner portion 42 and between the inner portion and the outer portion 41, such that the structure around the steam vents 46 can securely fix the inner portion within the outer portion, while the steam vents 46 allow vaporized oil particles to flow out of the container 70 and enter the bottom hole 14 of the upper portion 10 through the steam vents 46. As shown in FIGS. 5 and Figure 8 As shown, the exterior of the outer portion 41 may include an upper portion 44 and a lower portion 45. The upper portion 44 may define an outer diameter that may be larger than the outer diameter of the lower portion 45 and larger than the inner diameter of the container hole 72 (eg, Fig. 9 72) such that the outer diameter of the lower portion is less than the inner diameter of the container bore. The difference between the outer diameter of the upper portion 44 and the inner diameter of the container bore 72 is sufficient to establish an interference fit or press fit (i.e., a joint held together by friction) between the upper portion and the container bore while still allowing the upper portion to be fully positioned within the container 70. In this manner, the container 70 can receive the stopper 40 such that the stopper is non-removably attached to the container, such as Fig.10As shown. It is contemplated that adhesive may be used in conjunction with a press fit or as an alternative to securing the stopper 40 to the container 70. It is also contemplated that the outer portion 41 may have a tapered shape such that the outer portion begins to widen near the lip 47 and narrows as the outer portion extends away from the lip, so that a press fit can be established between the stopper 40 and the container 70.

[0031] Continue to refer FIG. 5A to FIG. 8 , the inner part 42 of the plug 40 can accommodate a diffuser mechanism that is completely enclosed inside. The diffuser mechanism can vaporize oil or other liquids by cold air diffusion. For example, an atomizer 49 can receive liquid oil at a first end, and the oil passes through the atomizer and is released as a nanoparticle spray at a second end. As mentioned above, compressed air produces a pressure that pushes the oil to and through the atomizer 49, which can be generated by an air pump 17a. Once released from the atomizer 49, the nanoparticle spray is distributed in the entire open air space in the container 70. In this way, heavy particles can be separated from the lighter particles that rise through the steam vent 46.

[0032] Continue to refer FIG. 5A to FIG. 8 , the water outlet 43 can extend from the inner part 42 from the bottom side, having a tapered exterior and a hollow interior, defining an open channel that forms a conduit to the diffuser mechanism disposed in the inner part. The tapered exterior of the water outlet 43 can be configured so that the water outlet can be positioned in and attached to the pipette 50. In this way, the water outlet 43 and the pipette 50 form a conduit between the oil reservoir and the diffuser mechanism. On the top side of the inner part 42 of the stopper 40, a slot 48 can be provided and configured to receive the air tube 17b of the upper part 10. The slot 48 also includes an inlet port 48a, allowing the air pump 17a to be drawn out through the air tube 17b to enter the container 70 after passing through the outlet port 42a. The passage defined by the inlet port 48a and the outlet port 42a can communicate with a diffuser mechanism (e.g., atomizer 49) mounted in the inner portion 42, so that air pumped through the inlets 48a and 42a causes steam particles to flow into the container 70 and then rise into the upper portion 10 through the steam vent 46 until the steam is dispersed from the top hole 12a of the upper portion 10. In this way, steam can be generated within the plug 40 and then transported to the top hole 12a of the upper portion 10 for dispersion.

[0033] See below Figures 9 and 10, the container 70 can be a hollow structure with a neck 74 and a main body portion 71, the main body portion 71 having a depression 73 at the bottom of the container. The neck portion 74 may include a container hole 72 that provides access to the hollow interior of the container 70. The volume of the hollow interior may be a volume of 40 ml or more, but preferably at least 60 ml. The exterior of the neck portion 74 may be configured to threadedly engage with the bottom hole 14 of the upper portion 10 to facilitate attachment and detachment of the container 70 from the bottom cover 13 of the upper portion 10. As described above, the container hole 72 may be configured to receive the plug 40, so that once the plug is received, an interference fit or press fit is established, and the lip 47 of the plug 40 is close to the outer surface of the neck 74 to prevent the plug from being positioned too deep in the container hole 72, and the lip is configured not to interfere with the engagement between the neck portion 74 and the bottom hole 14 of the upper portion 10. In this way, the stopper 40, the pipette 50 and the regulator 60 are all immovably placed in the container 70, while the container can be removably attached to the upper part 10 of the diffuser 1. If an attempt is made to remove the stopper 40 including the atomizer 49 from a container (e.g., a disposable fragrance container) to refill the container 70, the container may be unable to be used with the other components of the diffuser 1 because the atomizer will be irreparably broken from the outer part of the stopper fixed in the container. Without the atomizer, the container 70 cannot be operated with the other components of the diffuser system (i.e., the upper part 10, the lower part 20, etc.) to produce vaporized oil particles. In addition, once the stopper 40 is positioned in the neck portion 74 of the container 70, it is configured to prevent the user from refilling the container with replacement oil once the initial oil is exhausted. For example, the opening of the steam vent 46 can have a specific size that allows steam particles to be discharged from the container 70, but hinders liquid from entering the container. Additionally, the steam vent can also include a grid covering the opening of the steam vent 46. Because the steam vent 46 cannot be refilled with the container 70 once the plug 40 is irremovably installed, the user must obtain a replacement container with oil in order to continue to use the diffuser 1.

[0034] Reference now Figure 11 to Figure 12, the lower portion 20 may be a hollow cylinder, with an upper opening 24 defined by a housing 21 and an outer rim 22 disposed at the bottom of the lower portion. The housing 21 of the lower portion 20 may have smooth and / or textured outer and inner surfaces, and the outer and inner surfaces define various protrusions 25 corresponding to the grooves 15 on the outside of the bottom cover 13 of the upper portion 10, so that the protrusions of the lower portion and the grooves of the upper portion can be locked with each other to firmly link the upper and lower portions together. The diameter of the housing 21 of the lower portion 20 may be substantially equal to the diameter of the housing 11 of the upper portion 10, so that when the upper and lower portions of the diffuser 1 are connected together, the housing is configured to receive the bottom cover 13. When the bottom cover 13 and the container 70 are positioned in the lower portion 20, the spring 23 may be positioned on the internal structure to engage with the recess 73 of the container 70 to ensure that the slot 48 of the plug 40 is tightly fitted with the bridge member 17 of the upper portion 10. If the container 70 is not fully screwed into the bottom hole 14, the internal structure and spring 23 will prevent the upper and lower parts from connecting. In this way, the internal structure and spring 23 can ensure that the various components of the diffuser 1 are correctly matched together before the diffuser is operated.

[0035] Continue to refer Figure 11 to Figure 12 and Fig.13 , an outer edge 22 can be provided at the bottom of the lower portion 20 to stabilize the diffuser 1 when it is standing upright on a surface. The lower portion can further include a battery compartment 27 for housing a battery or batteries. It is contemplated that the battery or batteries can be non-rechargeable batteries or rechargeable batteries (e.g., rechargeable lithium-ion batteries). In the event that a rechargeable battery is included in the lower portion 20, the lower portion can be configured so that the battery can be wirelessly charged by inductive charging. For example, Fig.13 A wireless charger 30 is shown that can be used to wirelessly charge a rechargeable battery contained in the lower portion 20 of the diffuser 1. The outer wall 35 of the wireless charger 30 includes all the electrical components 36 required for inductive charging. The charger 30 may also include a recessed portion at the top of the charger that is appropriately sized to mount the base 22 within the recessed portion.

[0036] In some embodiments, the diffuser system may include a disposable container with scented oils built in, an upper portion of the diffuser, a lower portion of the same diffuser, and a charger. In addition, since the disposable container is non-refillable and non-reusable, the diffuser system may include a disposable replacement container containing oils.

[0037] In another aspect, the present disclosure relates to a method of assembling a disposable container. For example, the disposable container can be assembled by inserting a pipette (such as pipette 50) into an oil regulator (such as regulator) at one end of the pipette, and then inserting the other end of the pipette into a water outlet (such as water outlet 43) extending from an inner portion of a plug (such as plug 40). Fig.10 As shown, once the pipettes are securely attached to the socket and the regulator, they are inserted through holes (such as container hole 70) into the hollow portion of a container (such as container 70) until an upper portion of the plug (such as upper portion 44) forms an interference fit or press fit with the hole, and a lip (such as lip 47) extending from the plug abuts against the upper edge of the container. In addition, assembling the disposable container may include injecting a flavored oil into the container before inserting the plug into the container.

[0038] In another aspect, the present invention relates to a method for assembling a diffuser. For example, the diffuser can be assembled by screwing an assembled disposable container into a bottom hole (such as bottom hole 14) of an upper portion (such as upper portion 10) until the container is securely fixed to the upper portion and a bridge member (such as bridge member 17) is properly embedded in a plug (such as plug 40) of the disposable container. The container is now fixed to the bottom of the upper portion and extends from the bottom, and the container is inserted into a lower portion (such as lower portion 20) of the diffuser, and a protrusion (such as protrusion 25) on the lower portion is locked with a corresponding groove (such as groove 15) provided around the bottom end of the upper portion, firmly connecting the lower portion and the upper portion together, so that a spring (such as spring 23) provided in the lower portion is compressed by the container.

[0039] It should be understood that the disclosure set forth herein includes any possible combination of the specific features set forth above, whether or not specifically disclosed herein. For example, where a specific feature is disclosed in the context of a particular aspect, arrangement, configuration, or placement, the feature may also be used in combination and / or in the context of other specific aspects, arrangements, configurations, and placements of the technology to the extent possible, and generally used in the technology.

[0040] Furthermore, although the technology described herein has been described with reference to specific features, it should be understood that these features are merely illustrative of the principles and applications of the technology of the present invention. It should therefore be understood that many modifications may be made to the illustrative arrangements, including changes in the dimensions of the various features described herein, and that other arrangements may be designed without departing from the spirit and scope of the technology of the present invention. In this regard, in addition to those specific features set forth in the following claims, the technology of the present invention includes many additional features.
