[0047] In some systems, a network entity may dynamically activate or deactivate one or more antenna ports to reduce power consumption at the network entity, which may be referred to as dynamic antenna port adaptation. The use of different panels or antenna ports by the network entity may correspond to different codebook configurations and may be associated with different channels for communication between the network entity and a user equipment (UE). The network entity may send a channel state information (CSI) report configuration to the UE, the channel state information (CSI) report configuration including one or more codebook parameters for multiple codebooks (e.g., beam restrictions, rank restrictions, antenna port configurations, some other codebook parameters, or any combination thereof). The UE may measure a reference signal to obtain one or more CSI parameters based on the codebook. The UE may report CSI measurements for the codebook via a single CSI report based on the received configuration to facilitate dynamic antenna port adaptation at the network entity. If the UE is configured to report CSI parameters per subband in the frequency domain, the UE may report both subband measurements and wideband measurements for each codebook, which may be associated with relatively high overhead. Additionally or alternatively, indicating codebook parameters for each of the plurality of codebooks via the CSI reporting configuration may be relatively complex and may be associated with relatively high overhead.

[0048] According to examples as disclosed herein, a UE may derive codebook parameters for a supplementary codebook, such as beam restriction or rank restriction, based on codebook parameters configured for a single codebook (e.g., a base codebook or a primary codebook). For example, a network entity may send a CSI report configuration that configures codebook parameters for at least a first codebook (e.g., a base codebook). The UE may determine codebook parameters for other codebooks (e.g., supplementary codebooks) based on the configuration of the first codebook and a codebook parameter adaptation rule. The rule may define, for example, a relationship between a first bit and a second bit associated with the first codebook and the second codebook, respectively, based on a relative antenna port configuration of the codebook.

[0049] In some examples, the UE may measure and report CSI parameters for a codebook subset based on codebook parameters, such as a precoding matrix indicator (PMI) and a channel quality indicator (CQI). For example, the UE may report CSI parameters to reduce overhead based on restrictions on reporting CSI parameters (e.g., subband CSI parameters and wideband CSI parameters) via CSI reporting. If the UE is configured to report subband CSI, the UE may report a certain combination of subband CSI parameters and wideband CSI parameters for a base codebook and a supplementary codebook subset based on an indication or based on a configured CSI reporting rule. For example, the rule may direct the UE to report subband CSI for a base codebook, for each codebook (e.g., a base codebook and a supplementary codebook), for a codebook subset, or for no codebook. In some examples, the UE may receive control signaling indicating which codebook among the codebooks configured via the CSI reporting configuration is the base codebook, or the UE may be configured with rules for selecting a base codebook from the codebooks configured via the CSI reporting configuration.

[0050] Various aspects of the disclosure are first described in the context of a wireless communication system. Various aspects of the disclosure are additionally described in the context of CSI configurations, codebook parameter adaptation schemes, and process flows. Various aspects of the disclosure are further illustrated by apparatus diagrams, system diagrams, and flow diagrams related to CSI codebook parameter configurations for dynamic antenna port adaptation and are described herein with reference to these diagrams.

[0051] Figure 1 An example of a wireless communication system 100 supporting CSI codebook parameter configuration for dynamic antenna port adaptation according to one or more aspects of the present disclosure is illustrated. The wireless communication system 100 may include one or more network entities 105, one or more UEs 115, and a core network 130. In some examples, the wireless communication system 100 may be a long term evolution (LTE) network, an advanced LTE (LTE-A) network, an LTE-A Pro network, a new radio (NR) network, or a network operating according to other systems and radio technologies (including future systems and radio technologies not explicitly mentioned herein).

[0052] The network entities 105 may be dispersed throughout a geographic area to form the wireless communication system 100, and may include devices in different forms or with different capabilities. In various examples, the network entities 105 may be referred to as network elements, mobility elements, radio access network (RAN) nodes, or network equipment, among other names. In some examples, the network entities 105 and the UE 115 may communicate wirelessly via one or more communication links 125 (e.g., radio frequency (RF) access links). For example, the network entity 105 may support a coverage area 110 (e.g., a geographic coverage area), and the UE 115 and the network entity 105 may establish one or more communication links 125 over the coverage area. The coverage area 110 may be an example of a geographic area, and the network entity 105 and the UE 115 may support signal communications over the geographic area according to one or more radio access technologies (RATs).

[0053] The UEs 115 may be dispersed throughout the coverage area 110 of the wireless communication system 100, and each UE 115 may be stationary or mobile, or stationary and mobile at different times. The UEs 115 may be devices in different forms or with different capabilities. Figure 1 Some example UEs 115 are illustrated in FIG. 1 . The UEs 115 described herein may be capable of supporting communication with various types of devices, such as Figure 1 Communicate with other UEs 115 or network entities 105) as shown.

[0054] As described herein, a node of the wireless communication system 100 (which may be referred to as a network node or a wireless node) may be a network entity 105 (e.g., any network entity described herein), a UE 115 (e.g., any UE described herein), a network controller, an apparatus, a device, a computing system, one or more components, or another suitable processing entity configured to perform any of the techniques described herein. For example, the node may be a UE 115. As another example, the node may be a network entity 105. As another example, a first node may be configured to communicate with a second node or a third node. In one aspect of this example, the first node may be a UE 115, the second node may be a network entity 105, and the third node may be a UE 115. In another aspect of this example, the first node may be a UE 115, the second node may be a network entity 105, and the third node may be a network entity 105. In other aspects of this example, the first node, the second node, and the third node may be different relative to these examples. Similarly, references to UE 115, network entity 105, apparatus, device, computing system, etc. may include disclosure of UE 115, network entity 105, apparatus, device, computing system, etc. as nodes. For example, a disclosure that UE 115 is configured to receive information from network entity 105 also discloses that the first node is configured to receive information from a second node.

[0055] In some examples, the network entities 105 may communicate with the core network 130, or with each other, or both. For example, the network entities 105 may communicate with the core network 130 via one or more backhaul communication links 120 (e.g., according to S1, N2, N3, or other interface protocols). In some examples, the network entities 105 may communicate with each other directly (e.g., directly between the network entities 105) or indirectly (e.g., via the core network 130) via the backhaul communication links 120 (e.g., according to X2, Xn, or other interface protocols). In some examples, the network entities 105 may communicate with each other via midhaul communication links 162 (e.g., according to a midhaul interface protocol) or fronthaul communication links 168 (e.g., according to a fronthaul interface protocol) or any combination thereof. The backhaul communication links 120, midhaul communication links 162, or fronthaul communication links 168 may be or include one or more wired links (e.g., electrical links, optical fiber links), one or more wireless links (e.g., radio links, wireless optical links), etc. or various combinations thereof. UE 115 may communicate with core network 130 via communication link 155 .

[0056] One or more of the network entities 105 described herein may include or may be referred to as a base station 140 (e.g., a transceiver base station, a radio base station, an NR base station, an access point, a radio transceiver, a Node B, an evolved Node B (eNB), a next generation Node B, or a Gigabit Node B (any of which may be referred to as a gNB), a 5G NB, a next generation eNB (ng-eNB), a Home Node B, a Home Evolved Node B, or other suitable terms). In some examples, the network entity 105 (e.g., a base station 140) may be implemented in an aggregated (e.g., monolithic, standalone) base station architecture, which may be configured to utilize a protocol stack that is physically or logically integrated within a single network entity 105 (e.g., a single RAN node, such as a base station 140).

[0057] In some examples, the network entity 105 may be implemented in a disaggregated architecture (e.g., a disaggregated base station architecture, a disaggregated RAN architecture) that may be configured to utilize a protocol stack that is physically or logically distributed between two or more network entities 105, such as an integrated access backhaul (IAB) network, an open RAN (O-RAN) (e.g., a network configuration sponsored by the O-RAN Alliance), or a virtualized RAN (vRAN) (e.g., a cloud RAN (C-RAN)). For example, the network entity 105 may include one or more of the following: a central unit (CU) 160, a distributed unit (DU) 165, a radio unit (RU) 170, a RAN intelligent controller (RIC) 175 (e.g., a near real-time RIC (near RT RIC), a non-real-time RIC (non-RT RIC)), a service management and orchestration (SMO) 180 system, or any combination thereof. The RU 170 may also be referred to as a radio head, a smart radio head, a remote radio head (RRH), a remote radio unit (RRU), or a transmit receive point (TRP). One or more components of the network entity 105 in the decomposed RAN architecture may be co-located, or one or more components of the network entity 105 may be located in distributed locations (e.g., separate physical locations). In some examples, one or more network entities 105 of the decomposed RAN architecture may be implemented as virtual units (e.g., virtual CU (VCU), virtual DU (VDU), virtual RU (VRU)).

[0058] The functional split between CU 160, DU 165, and RU 170 is flexible and may support different functionalities depending on which functions (e.g., network layer functions, protocol layer functions, baseband functions, RF functions, and any combination thereof) are performed at CU 160, DU 165, or RU 170. For example, a functional split of a protocol stack may be employed between CU 160 and DU 165 such that CU 160 may support one or more layers of a protocol stack and DU 165 may support one or more different layers of a protocol stack. In some examples, CU 160 may host higher protocol layer (e.g., layer 3 (L3), layer 2 (L2)) functionality and signaling (e.g., radio resource control (RRC), service data adaptation protocol (SDAP), packet data convergence protocol (PDCP)). The CU 160 may be connected to one or more DUs 165 or RUs 170, and the one or more DUs 165 or RUs 170 may host lower protocol layers, such as layer 1 (L1) (e.g., physical (PHY) layer) or L2 (e.g., radio link control (RLC) layer, medium access control (MAC) layer) functionality and signaling, and may each be at least partially controlled by the CU 160. Additionally or alternatively, a functional split of the protocol stack may be employed between the DU 165 and the RU 170, such that the DU 165 may support one or more layers of the protocol stack, and the RU 170 may support one or more different layers of the protocol stack. The DU 165 may support one or more different cells (e.g., via one or more RUs 170). In some cases, the functional split between CU 160 and DU 165 or between DU 165 and RU 170 may be within the protocol layer (e.g., some functions of the protocol layer may be performed by one of CU 160, DU 165, or RU 170, while other functions of the protocol layer are performed by the other of CU 160, DU 165, or RU 170). CU 160 may be further functionally split into CU control plane (CU-CP) functions and CU user plane (CU-UP) functions. CU 160 may be connected to one or more DUs 165 via midhaul communication links 162 (e.g., F1, F1-c, F1-u), and DU 165 may be connected to one or more RUs 170 via fronthaul communication links 168 (e.g., open fronthaul (FH) interface). In some examples, midhaul communication link 162 or fronthaul communication link 168 may be implemented based on interfaces (eg, channels) between layers of a protocol stack supported by respective network entities 105 that communicate via those communication links.

[0059] In some wireless communication systems (e.g., wireless communication system 100), infrastructure and spectrum resources for radio access may support wireless backhaul link capabilities to supplement wired backhaul connections, thereby providing an IAB network architecture (e.g., to the core network 130). In some cases, in an IAB network, one or more network entities 105 (e.g., IAB nodes 104) may be partially controlled by each other. One or more IAB nodes 104 may be referred to as host entities or IAB hosts. One or more DUs 165 or one or more RUs 170 may be partially controlled by one or more CUs 160 associated with a host network entity 105 (e.g., a host base station 140). One or more host network entities 105 (e.g., IAB hosts) may communicate with one or more additional network entities 105 (e.g., IAB nodes 104) via supported access and backhaul links (e.g., backhaul communication links 120). The IAB node 104 may include an IAB mobile terminal (IAB-MT) controlled (e.g., scheduled) by a DU 165 of a coupled IAB host. The IAB-MT may include an independent set of antennas for relaying communications with the UE 115, or may share the same antennas of the IAB node 104 (e.g., of the RU 170) for access via the DU 165 of the IAB node 104 (e.g., referred to as a virtual IAB-MT (vIAB-MT)). In some examples, the IAB node 104 may include a DU 165 that supports communication links with additional entities (e.g., IAB node 104, UE 115) within a relay chain or configuration (e.g., downstream) of the access network. In such cases, one or more components of the decomposed RAN architecture (e.g., one or more IAB nodes 104 or components of the IAB node 104) may be configured to operate according to the techniques described herein.

[0060] In the case where the techniques described herein are applied to the context of a decomposed RAN architecture, one or more components of the decomposed RAN architecture may be configured to support CSI codebook parameter configuration for dynamic antenna port adaptation as described herein. For example, some operations described as being performed by a UE 115 or a network entity 105 (e.g., a base station 140) may additionally or alternatively be performed by one or more components of the decomposed RAN architecture (e.g., an IAB node 104, a DU 165, a CU 160, a RU 170, a RIC 175, a SMO 180).

[0061] UE 115 may include or may be referred to as a mobile device, a wireless device, a remote device, a handheld device, or a subscriber device, or some other suitable terminology, where a "device" may also be referred to as a unit, a station, a terminal, or a client, etc. UE 115 may also include or may be referred to as a personal electronic device, such as a cellular phone, a personal digital assistant (PDA), a tablet computer, a laptop computer, or a personal computer. In some examples, UE 115 may include or may be referred to as a wireless local loop (WLL) station, an Internet of Things (IoT) device, an Internet of Everything (IoE) device, or a machine type communication (MTC) device, etc., which may be implemented in various objects such as appliances or vehicles, meters, etc.

[0062] The UE 115 described herein may be capable of communicating with various types of devices, such as other UEs 115, which may sometimes act as relays, as well as network entities 105 and network equipment including macro eNBs or gNBs, small cell eNBs or gNBs, or relay base stations, etc. Figure 1 shown.

[0063] The UE 115 and the network entity 105 may wirelessly communicate with each other via one or more communication links 125 (e.g., access links) using resources associated with one or more carriers. The term "carrier" may refer to a set of RF spectrum resources having a defined physical layer structure for supporting the communication link 125. For example, a carrier for the communication link 125 may include a portion of an RF spectrum band (e.g., a bandwidth portion (BWP)) that operates according to one or more physical layer channels for a given radio access technology (e.g., LTE, LTE-A, LTE-A Pro, NR). Each physical layer channel may carry acquisition signaling (e.g., synchronization signals, system information), control signaling for coordinating carrier operations, user data, or other signaling. The wireless communication system 100 may support communications with the UE 115 using carrier aggregation or multi-carrier operation. Depending on the carrier aggregation configuration, the UE 115 may be configured with multiple downlink component carriers and one or more uplink component carriers. Carrier aggregation may be used with both frequency division duplex (FDD) component carriers and time division duplex (TDD) component carriers. Communication between the network entity 105 and other devices may refer to communication between a device and any portion (e.g., entity, sub-entity) of the network entity 105. For example, the terms "send," "receive," or "communicate" when referring to the network entity 105 may refer to any portion of the network entity 105 (e.g., base station 140, CU 160, DU 165, RU 170) of the RAN communicating with another device (e.g., directly or via one or more other network entities 105).

[0064] The signal waveform transmitted via the carrier may be composed of multiple subcarriers (e.g., using multi-carrier modulation (MCM) techniques, such as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) or discrete Fourier transform spread OFDM (DFT-S-OFDM)). In a system using MCM techniques, a resource element may refer to a resource of one symbol period (e.g., the duration of one modulation symbol) and one subcarrier, in which case the symbol period and the subcarrier spacing may be inversely related. The number of bits carried by each resource element may depend on the modulation scheme (e.g., the order of the modulation scheme, the coding rate of the modulation scheme, or both), so that a relatively high number of resource elements (e.g., in the transmission duration) and a relatively high order modulation scheme may correspond to a relatively high communication rate. Wireless communication resources may refer to a combination of RF spectrum resources, time resources, and spatial resources (e.g., spatial layers, beams), and the use of multiple spatial resources may increase the data rate or data integrity of the communication with the UE 115.

[0065] The time interval for the network entity 105 or the UE 115 may be expressed in multiples of a basic time unit, which may be, for example, a sampling period T s =1 / (Δf max ·N f ) seconds, where Δf max It can represent the supported subcarrier spacing, and N f The supported discrete Fourier transform (DFT) size may be indicated. The time intervals of the communication resources may be organized according to radio frames, each having a specified duration (e.g., 10 milliseconds (ms)). Each radio frame may be identified by a system frame number (SFN) (e.g., ranging from 0 to 1023).

[0066] Each frame may include multiple consecutively numbered subframes or time slots, and each subframe or time slot may have the same duration. In some examples, the frame may be divided into subframes (e.g., in the time domain), and each subframe may be further divided into multiple time slots. Alternatively, each frame may include a variable number of time slots, and the number of time slots may depend on the subcarrier spacing. Each time slot may include multiple symbol periods (e.g., depending on the length of the cyclic prefix added before each symbol period). In some wireless communication systems 100, the time slot may also be divided into multiple mini-time slots associated with one or more symbols. Excluding the cyclic prefix, each symbol period may be associated with one or more (e.g., N f The duration of a symbol period may depend on the subcarrier spacing or the operating frequency band.

[0067] A subframe, a slot, a mini-slot, or a symbol may be the smallest scheduling unit (e.g., in the time domain) of the wireless communication system 100 and may be referred to as a transmission time interval (TTI). In some examples, the TTI duration (e.g., the number of symbol periods in a TTI) may be variable. Additionally or alternatively, the smallest scheduling unit (e.g., in bursts of shortened TTIs (sTTIs)) of the wireless communication system 100 may be dynamically selected.

[0068] Carrier multiplexing physical channels may be used for communication according to various techniques. For example, physical control channels and physical data channels may be multiplexed via downlink carriers using one or more of a time division multiplexing (TDM) technique, a frequency division multiplexing (FDM) technique, or a hybrid TDM-FDM technique for signaling. A control region (e.g., a control resource set (CORESET)) for a physical control channel may be defined by a set of symbol periods and may extend across a system bandwidth or a subset of a system bandwidth of a carrier. One or more control regions (e.g., CORESETs) may be configured for a set of UEs 115. For example, one or more of UEs 115 may monitor or search a control region for control information according to one or more search space sets, and each search space set may include one or more control channel candidates in one or more aggregation levels arranged in a cascaded manner. The aggregation level of a control channel candidate may refer to the amount of control channel resources (e.g., control channel elements (CCEs)) associated with coded information for a control information format having a given payload size. The search space sets may include a common search space set configured for transmitting control information to a plurality of UEs 115 , and a UE-specific search space set for transmitting control information to a specific UE 115 .

[0069] In some examples, the network entities 105 (e.g., base stations 140, RUs 170) may be mobile and thus provide communication coverage for mobile coverage areas 110. In some examples, different coverage areas 110 associated with different technologies may overlap, but the different coverage areas 110 may be supported by the same network entity 105. In some other examples, overlapping coverage areas 110 associated with different technologies may be supported by different network entities 105. The wireless communication system 100 may include, for example, a heterogeneous network in which different types of network entities 105 provide coverage for various coverage areas 110 using the same or different radio access technologies.

[0070] The wireless communication system 100 may be configured to support ultra-reliable communication or low-latency communication or various combinations thereof. For example, the wireless communication system 100 may be configured to support ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC). The UE 115 may be designed to support ultra-reliable or low-latency or critical functions. Ultra-reliable communication may include private communication or group communication, and may be supported by one or more services (such as push-to-talk, video, or data). Support for ultra-reliable, low-latency functions may include prioritization of services, and such services may be used for public safety applications or general commercial applications. The terms ultra-reliable, low-latency, and ultra-reliable low-latency are used interchangeably herein.

[0071] In some examples, a UE 115 may be configured to support communication directly with other UEs 115 via a device-to-device (D2D) communication link 135 (e.g., according to a peer-to-peer (P2P), D2D, or sidelink protocol). In some examples, one or more UEs 115 in a group that are performing D2D communication may be within a coverage area 110 of a network entity 105 (e.g., a base station 140, a RU 170), which may support aspects of such D2D communication configured (e.g., scheduled) by the network entity 105. In some examples, one or more UEs 115 of such a group may be outside of the coverage area 110 of the network entity 105, or may otherwise be unable or not configured to receive transmissions from the network entity 105. In some examples, a group of UEs 115 communicating via D2D communication may support a one-to-many (1:M) system, in which each UE 115 transmits to each of the other UEs 115 in the group. In some examples, network entity 105 may facilitate scheduling of resources for D2D communications. In some other examples, D2D communications may be conducted between UEs 115 without involving network entity 105.

[0072] The core network 130 may provide user authentication, access authorization, tracking, Internet Protocol (IP) connectivity, and other access, routing or mobility functions. The core network 130 may be an evolved packet core (EPC) or a 5G core (5GC), which may include at least one control plane entity (e.g., a mobility management entity (MME), an access and mobility management function (AMF)) for managing access and mobility and at least one user plane entity (e.g., a serving gateway (S-GW)), a packet data network (PDN) gateway (P-GW) or a user plane function (UPF)) for routing packets or interconnecting to an external network. The control plane entity may manage non-access stratum (NAS) functions, such as mobility, authentication, and bearer management for UE 115 served by a network entity 105 (e.g., a base station 140) associated with the core network 130. User IP packets may be delivered via a user plane entity, which may provide IP address allocation and other functions. The user plane entity may be connected to an IP service 150 for one or more network operators. IP services 150 may include access to the Internet, an intranet, an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), or packet-switched streaming services.

[0073] The wireless communication system 100 may operate using one or more frequency bands that may be in the range of 300 megahertz (MHz) to 300 gigahertz (GHz). Typically, the region from 300 MHz to 3 GHz is referred to as the ultra-high frequency (UHF) region or decimeter band because the wavelength range is approximately one decimeter to one meter. UHF waves may be blocked or redirected by buildings and environmental features (which may be referred to as clusters), but these waves may be sufficient to penetrate structures so that macro cells provide services to UEs 115 located indoors. Communications using UHF waves may be associated with smaller antennas and shorter ranges (e.g., less than 100 kilometers) than communications using lower frequencies and longer waves in the high frequency (HF) or very high frequency (VHF) portions of the spectrum below 300 MHz.

[0074] The wireless communication system 100 may utilize both licensed RF spectrum bands and unlicensed RF spectrum bands. For example, the wireless communication system 100 may employ license assisted access (LAA), LTE unlicensed (LTE-U) radio access technology, or NR technology using unlicensed bands (such as the 5 GHz industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) band). When operating using unlicensed RF spectrum bands, devices such as network entities 105 and UE 115 may employ carrier sensing for conflict detection and avoidance. In some examples, operations using unlicensed bands may be based on carrier aggregation configuration in combination with component carriers operating using licensed bands (e.g., LAA). Operations using unlicensed spectrum may include downlink transmissions, uplink transmissions, P2P transmissions, or D2D transmissions, and the like.

[0075] The network entity 105 (e.g., base station 140, RU 170) or UE 115 may be equipped with multiple antennas that can be used to employ technologies such as transmit diversity, receive diversity, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications, or beamforming. The antennas of the network entity 105 or UE 115 may be located in one or more antenna arrays or antenna panels that can support MIMO operations or transmit or receive beamforming. For example, one or more base station antennas or antenna arrays may be co-located at an antenna assembly (such as an antenna tower). In some examples, antennas or antenna arrays associated with the network entity 105 may be located at different geographical locations. The network entity 105 may include an antenna array having a set of multiple rows and columns of antenna ports that the network entity 105 can use to support beamforming for communications with the UE 115. Similarly, the UE 115 may include one or more antenna arrays that can support various MIMO or beamforming operations. Additionally or alternatively, the antenna panel may support RF beamforming for signals sent via the antenna ports.

[0076] Beamforming (which may also be referred to as spatial filtering, directional transmission, or directional reception) is a signal processing technique that may be used at a sender device or a receiver device (e.g., network entity 105, UE 115) to shape or steer an antenna beam (e.g., a transmit beam, a receive beam) along a spatial path between the sender device and the receiver device. Beamforming may be achieved by combining signals conveyed via antenna elements of an antenna array so that some signals propagating along a particular orientation relative to the antenna array experience constructive interference, while other signals experience destructive interference. Adjustments to signals conveyed via antenna elements may include the sender device or the receiver device applying an amplitude offset, a phase offset, or both to signals carried via antenna elements associated with the device. Adjustments associated with each of the antenna elements may be defined by a set of beamforming weights associated with a particular orientation (e.g., relative to the antenna array of the sender device or the receiver device or relative to some other orientation).

[0077] The network entity 105 or UE 115 may use beam scanning techniques as part of a beamforming operation. For example, the network entity 105 (e.g., base station 140, RU 170) may use multiple antennas or antenna arrays (e.g., antenna panels) to perform beamforming operations for directional communication with UE 115. Some signals (e.g., synchronization signals, reference signals, beam selection signals, or other control signals) may be sent multiple times by the network entity 105 along different directions. For example, the network entity 105 may send signals according to different sets of beamforming weights associated with different transmission directions. Transmissions along different beam directions may be used to identify (e.g., by a transmitting device (such as network entity 105), or by a receiving device (such as UE 115)) beam directions for later transmission or reception by the network entity 105.

[0078] Some signals, such as data signals associated with a particular receiving device, may be sent by a sending device (e.g., a sending network entity 105, a sending UE 115) along a single beam direction (e.g., a direction associated with a receiving device (such as a receiving network entity 105 or a receiving UE 115)). In some examples, the beam direction associated with the transmission along the single beam direction may be determined based on signals sent along one or more beam directions. For example, UE 115 may receive one or more of the signals sent by network entity 105 along different directions, and may report to network entity 105 an indication of the signal received by UE 115 with the highest signal quality or other acceptable signal quality.

[0079] In some examples, transmission by a device (e.g., by network entity 105 or UE 115) may be performed using multiple beam directions, and the device may use a combination of digital precoding or beamforming to generate a combined beam for transmission (e.g., from network entity 105 to UE 115). UE 115 may report feedback indicating precoding weights for one or more beam directions, and the feedback may correspond to a configured set of beams across a system bandwidth or one or more subbands. Network entity 105 may send a reference signal (e.g., a cell-specific reference signal (CRS), a CSI reference signal (CSI-RS)), which may be precoded or not precoded. UE 115 may provide feedback for beam selection, which may be PMI or codebook-based feedback (e.g., a multi-panel codebook, a linear combination codebook, a port selection codebook). Although these techniques are described with reference to signals sent along one or more directions by a network entity 105 (e.g., base station 140, RU 170), UE 115 may use similar techniques to send signals multiple times along different directions (e.g., to identify a beam direction for subsequent transmission or reception by UE 115), or to send signals along a single direction (e.g., to send data to a receiving device).

[0080] A receiving device (e.g., UE 115) may perform receiving operations according to multiple receiving configurations (e.g., directional listening) when receiving various signals (such as synchronization signals, reference signals, beam selection signals, or other control signals) from a receiving device (e.g., network entity 105). For example, the receiving device may perform reception according to multiple receiving directions by: receiving via different antenna subarrays, processing the received signals according to different antenna subarrays, receiving according to different receiving beamforming weight sets (e.g., different directional listening weight sets) applied to signals received at multiple antenna elements of an antenna array, or processing the received signals according to different receiving beamforming weight sets applied to signals received at multiple antenna elements of an antenna array, any of which may be referred to as "listening" according to different receiving configurations or receiving directions. In some examples, the receiving device may use a single receiving configuration to receive along a single beam direction (e.g., when receiving a data signal). A single receive configuration may be aligned along a beam direction determined based on listening according to different receive configuration directions (e.g., a beam direction determined to have the highest signal strength, highest signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), or other acceptable signal quality based on listening according to multiple beam directions).

[0081] In some systems, network energy consumption for running, managing, or operating a cellular network may be associated with a relatively high cost (e.g., about 15%-30% of total energy consumption). In addition, in some systems, a relatively large percentage of network energy consumption may come from a radio access network (RAN). For example, the RAN may account for or otherwise contribute to approximately 40%-60% of the energy consumption of a system (e.g., a 5G system). In addition, in some 5G deployment scenarios, energy (e.g., power) consumption at the network entity 105 may be even greater. For example, if the network entity 105 supports or manages MIMO communications (e.g., 5G massive MIMO communications), the network entity 105 may consume a larger amount of power than a network entity 105 in another deployment scenario (e.g., a 4G deployment scenario).

[0082] The network entity 105 may include multiple co-located panels, which may each include multiple power amplifiers, antenna ports, and antenna subsystems. These components may consume a relatively large amount of power at the network entity 105. In order to save power, the network entity 105 may dynamically activate and deactivate panels, sub-panels, or antenna ports (e.g., dynamic antenna port adaptation). For example, when the cell load is low, the network entity 105 may disable a panel, sub-panel, or antenna port. However, different panel or port usage at the network entity 105 may correspond to different codebook configurations and may be associated with different channels for communication between the network entity 105 and the UE 115. Therefore, the network entity 105 may send a CSI report configuration to the UE 115, which may include one or more codebook configurations and report settings.

[0083] The network entity 105 may configure the UE 115 (e.g., by sending control signaling) using a CSI reporting configuration (which may be equivalently referred to as a CSI reporting configuration or a CSI reporting setting) for the UE 115 to report CSI. The CSI reporting configuration may be linked to one or more resource settings associated with different measurement types. For example, the CSI reporting configuration may be linked to one or more of the following: non-zero power (NZP) CSI-RS resources (CMR) for channel measurement, CSI-RS resources (CSI-IM) for interference measurement, or NZP CSI-RS for interference measurement (NZP-IMR), or any combination thereof. Each of the one or more resource settings to which the CSI reporting configuration may be linked may be associated with multiple resource sets, but may be associated with one active resource set (e.g., only one active resource set).

[0084] Each resource set may include one or more resources. For example, an NZP-CMR resource set n may include N resources, including NZP-CMR resource a1 and NZP-CMR resource a2. Similarly, a CSI-IM resource set m may include M resources, including CSI-IM resource b1 and CSI-IM resource b2. Similarly, an NZP-IMR resource set s may include S resources, including NZP-IMR resource b1 and NZP-IMR resource b2. On the CSI-IM resource, other signals designated to the UE 115 may be muted so that the UE 115 can directly measure interference. In addition, the NZP CSI-RS may be primarily used for channel measurement, but may also be used for interference measurement (and thus, may be referred to as an NZP CSI-RS for interference measurement), where the channel estimated using the CSI-RS may be included in the assumed or measured interference.

[0085] In some examples, the UE 115 may be configured to report a wideband CQI and a subband CQI. The network entity 105 may indicate the CQI format to the UE 115 (e.g., in the cqi-FormatIndicator field). In some examples, if the UE 115 is configured with a wideband CQI (e.g., widebandCQI is indicated to the UE in the cqi-FormatIndicator field), the UE 115 may report wideband CQI information (e.g., 4-bit CQI information, or some other number of bits). In other examples, if the UE 115 is configured with a subband CQI (e.g., subbandCQI is indicated to the UE in the cqi-FormatIndicator field), the UE 115 may report wideband CQI information and differential CQI information (e.g., 2-bit differential CQI information, or some other number of bits) for each subband corresponding to the subband CQI. In some aspects, the number of bits for the subband CQI may be indicated to the UE 115 via a parameter in the CSI reporting configuration (e.g., via a higher layer parameter such as cqi-BitsPerSubband). If the parameter corresponding to the number of bits of the per-subband differential CQI is empty or not configured by the CSI reporting configuration, the subband differential CQI offset level for each subband with index s may be determined according to Formula 1 shown below.

[0086] Subband offset level (s) = subband CQI index (s) - wideband CQI index (1)

[0087] The sub-band differential CQI values may be mapped to one or more offset levels as shown in Table 1.

[0088] Subband differential CQI value Offset Level 0 0 1 1 2 ≥2 3 ≤-1

[0089] Table 1: Mapping of subband differential CQI values to CQI offset levels

[0090] If the UE 115 is configured to report subband CSI parameters, the UE 115 may report both wideband CSI parameters and subband CSI parameters (such as CQI) corresponding to each of the one or more configured codebooks to the network entity 105. However, reporting both wideband CSI parameters and subband CSI parameters for each of the codebooks without restrictions on CSI reporting may result in a relatively large amount of overhead and complexity at the UE 115.

[0091] Thus, the techniques described herein enable UE 115 to report CSI parameters based on one or more configured restrictions for CSI reporting. In some examples, UE 115 may report both subband parameters and wideband parameters (e.g., CQI or PMI) calculated according to one or more codebooks. In other examples, UE 115 may report both subband parameters and wideband parameters calculated according to a base codebook (e.g., a master codebook) and wideband CSI parameters calculated according to one or more of the supplementary codebooks. In another example, UE 115 may report only wideband CSI parameters associated with one or more codebooks, and UE 115 may prohibit reporting subband CSI parameters (e.g., if UE 115 is not configured with subband CSI parameters for any of the codebooks). In some cases, UE 115 may rank the calculated CSI parameters according to one or more parameters (e.g., spectral efficiency) and select the CSI to be reported based on the rank of the calculated CSI parameters. Therefore, the UE 115 may reduce overhead and power consumption by reporting fewer CSI parameters compared to a case where the UE 115 is not configured with CSI reporting restrictions.

[0092] In some aspects, the techniques described herein enable a UE 115 to derive codebook parameters for one or more additional codebooks based on codebook parameters configured via a CSI reporting configuration for a first codebook (e.g., a base codebook). The UE 115 may determine an additional set of codebook parameters associated with one or more additional codebooks (e.g., a supplemental codebook) based on the codebook parameters associated with the first codebook and a codebook parameter adaptation rule. The UE 115 may send a CSI report based on the first set of codebook parameters, the additional set of codebook parameters, and the CSI calculation at the UE 115, the CSI report including a set of CSI parameters for each of the first codebook and one or more of the additional codebooks. The techniques described herein for CSI parameter restriction and codebook parameter derivation may improve communication reliability and reduce overhead and power consumption of the UE 115 and a network entity 105 communicating with the UE 115.

[0093] Figure 2 An example of a wireless communication system 200 supporting CSI codebook parameter configuration for dynamic antenna port adaptation according to one or more aspects of the present disclosure is illustrated. The wireless communication system 200 may be implemented as described herein with reference to Figure 1 One or more aspects of the wireless communication system 100 described above may be implemented by one or more aspects of the wireless communication system. For example, the wireless communication system 200 may include a network entity 105-a and a UE 115-a, which may be a network entity 105-a and a UE 115-a. Figure 1 The network entity 105 - a and the UE 115 - a may communicate via a downlink communication link 205 and an uplink communication link 210 .

[0094] UE 115-a and network entity 105- may support communication via downlink communication link 205 or uplink communication link 210 or both. To support communication (e.g., MIMO communication), UE 115-a may support or operate panel 225-a (e.g., antenna panel) and panel 225-b, and network entity 105-a may support panel 230-a, panel 230-b, panel 230-c, and panel 230-d. In some aspects, one or more of panels 230 may be co-located and each may be associated with multiple antenna ports. Additionally, each panel may be equipped with one or more transceiver chains having a relatively large number of power amplifiers (PAs) and one or more antenna subsystems, which may consume a relatively large amount of power. Thus, each antenna panel may be equipped with one or more transceiver chains, and each of the one or more transceiver chains may include one or more PAs and one or more antenna subsystems or may be otherwise associated with one or more PAs and one or more antenna subsystems, which may consume a relatively large amount of power.

[0095] To support energy-saving features, if, for example, the cell load of the network entity 105-a is relatively low (e.g., below a threshold cell load), the network entity 105-a may participate in dynamic port adaptation 235, which may include dynamically activating and deactivating the panel 230 or its components (e.g., sub-panels, antenna ports, and PAs). Figure 2 As illustrated, if network entity 105-a is scheduled for a relatively small amount of data traffic or otherwise anticipates a relatively small amount of data traffic, network entity 105-a may disable (e.g., turn off and no longer provide power to) panels 230-b, 230-c, and 230-d. Different uses or configurations of panel 230 at network entity 105-a may correspond to different codebook configurations and may be associated with different channels for communication between network entity 105-a and UE 115-a.

[0096] In some implementations, the network entity 105-a may select which panel or panels 230 (e.g., and sub-panels, transceiver chains, or antenna ports) to shut down based on the CSI received from the UE 115-a to avoid losing connection with the UE 115-a or otherwise degrading the quality of channel conditions between the network entity 105-a and the UE 115-a. Thus, the network entity 105-a may configure or request the UE 115-a to provide CSI associated with one or more antenna configurations at the network entity 105-a. The network entity 105-a may store the CSI and identify which antenna configurations of the network entity 105-a provide sufficient link quality between the network entity 105-a and the UE 115-a.

[0097] To configure or request the UE 115-a to provide CSI to the network entity 105-a, the network entity 105-a may send a CSI reporting configuration 215 to the UE 115-a. In some examples, the network entity 105-a may send the CSI reporting configuration 215 via RRC signaling, a medium access control-control element (MAC-CE), or some other control signaling. In some aspects, the CSI reporting configuration 215 may be configured per BWP. The CSI reporting configuration 215 may indicate a set of parameters and resources that the UE 115-a may use to select, obtain, calculate, measure, or otherwise determine a set of CSI parameters.

[0098] In some implementations, the CSI report configuration 215 may indicate a codebook configuration, which may correspond to or may indicate a codebook type. For example, the codebook configuration may correspond to different types of PMI codebook reporting. The different types may include type 1 single panel, type 1 multiple panels, type 2 single panel, type 2 port selection, and type 2 enhanced port selection (e.g., type I-SinglePanel, type I-MultiPanel, and type II, etc.). The codebook configuration may additionally or alternatively indicate discrete Fourier transform (DFT) beam limiting (e.g., configuration (O 1 ,O 2 )) and rank index (RI) restrictions. The CSI reporting configuration 215 may indicate a reporting configuration type for CSI reporting, such as periodic, semi-persistent, or aperiodic. In some aspects, the CSI reporting configuration 215 may be an RRC per BWP configuration, and a given resource set may have K with the same number of CSI-RS ports. s resources. For example, if K s =1, each resource may include up to 32 CSI-RS ports; if K s =2, each resource may include up to 16 CSI-RS ports; or if 2 <Ks <8, then each resource may include up to 8 CSI-RS ports. In some aspects, a P-port resource may include ports labeled 3000 to 300(P-1).

[0099] The CSI reporting configuration 215 may indicate a set of parameters associated with an antenna configuration at one or both of the network entity 105-a or the UE 115-a. For example, the UE 115-a and the network entity 105-a may support settings for antenna element configurations and the number of panels (e.g., active panels) for each codebook type, and may support a corresponding number of CSI-RS antenna ports (e.g., per resource). In some aspects, the antenna element configuration may be represented as (N 1 ,N 2 ), where N 1 may refer to the number of antenna elements in a first direction (eg, horizontal direction) on the panel, and N 2 It may refer to the number of antenna elements in a second direction (eg, vertical direction) on the panel. In addition, the number of panels may be represented as N g , and thus, corresponding to the antenna configuration (N g ,N 1 ,N 2 ) can be equal to 2N g N 1 N 2 , because each antenna element can be associated with two different polarizations. In the example of wireless communication system 200, UE 115-a can support antenna configurations (N g =2,N 1 =4,N 2 =2).

[0100] Tables 2 and 3 shown below include other supported configurations (N 1 ,N 2 ) and (N g ,N 1 ,N 2 ). Tables 2 and 3 also include corresponding configurations ( 1 ,O 2 ), where O 1 can be associated with the beam scanning step in the horizontal direction, and O 2 Can be associated with the beam scanning step in the vertical direction. Additionally or alternatively, (O 1 ,O 2 ) may be associated with a DFT beam limitation (e.g., a restriction, constraint, or configuration) associated with the CSI reporting configuration 215.

[0101]

[0102]

[0103] Table 2: Supported configurations (N 1 ,N 2 ) and (O 1 ,O 2 )

[0104]

[0105] Table 3: Supported configurations (N g ,N 1 ,N 2 ) Sum(O 1 ,O 2 )

[0106] Based on receiving CSI reporting configuration 215, UE 115-a may measure or estimate a channel using one or more CSI-RS resources and codebook parameter sets indicated by CSI reporting configuration 215. Thus, UE 115-a may select, calculate, compute, or otherwise obtain a CSI parameter set and may send an indication of the CSI parameter set to network entity 105-a via CSI report 220. CSI report 220 may be associated with a format that depends on which type (e.g., type 1 or type 2) of codebook reporting UE 115-a is configured to provide.

[0107] For type 1, which may be associated with a single timeslot reporting, the UE 115-a may generate a CSI report 220 such that the CSI report 220 includes up to two parts. In a first part of the CSI report 220, the UE 115-a may include an RI, a CSI-RS resource indicator (CRI), and a CQI for a first codeword. In a second part of the CSI report 220, the UE 115-a may include a PMI and a CQI for a second codeword (e.g., in an example where the RI is greater than a threshold, such as when RI>4). The UE 115-a may provide type 1 CSI reports for periodic, semi-persistent, and aperiodic CSI, and may send the CSI report 220 via a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) or a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) (such as a short or long PUCCH, or PUSCH). For type 1 subband CSI, the UE 115-a may send the CSI report 220 using a PUSCH or a long PUCCH.

[0108] For type 2, the UE 115-a may similarly generate a CSI report 220 such that the CSI report 220 may include up to two parts. In the first part of the CSI report 220, the UE 115-a may include the RI, the CQI, and an indication of the number of non-zero wideband amplitude coefficients per layer. In some aspects, the first part of the CSI report 220 may have a fixed payload size, each field may be separately encoded, and the first part of the CSI report 220 may indicate or otherwise identify the number of information bits included in the second part of the CSI report 220. In the second part of the CSI report 220, the UE 115-a may include a PMI corresponding to the non-zero wideband amplitude coefficients per layer indicated in the first part of the CSI report 220. The UE 115-a may provide a type 2 CSI report for semi-persistent or aperiodic CSI, and may send the CSI report using a long PUCCH (e.g., for the first part of the CSI report 220) or a PUSCH (for either or both of the first or second parts of the CSI report 220). In some aspects, the UE 115-a may not multiplex CSI parameters of a CSI report across PUCCH transmissions or PUSCH transmissions, and may independently calculate CSI reports using long PUCCH and CSI reports using PUSCH. In addition, whether the UE 115-a may be configured with type 2 CSI reporting using both long PUCCH and PUSCH may be associated with (e.g., dependent on) UE capabilities, which the UE 115-a may indicate to the network entity 105-a. If long PUCCH or PUSCH is used to report CSI, layer 1 - reference signal received power (RSRP) and resource indicators for beam management may be mapped to the first portion of the CSI report 220.

[0109] In some examples, UE 115-a may perform CSI calculations to obtain one or more CSI parameters (e.g., RI parameters, PMI parameters, and CQI parameters) for each of one or more codebooks in the codebooks (e.g., base codebooks and supplemental codebooks), and UE 115-a may report CSI for these codebooks. In some specific implementations, UE 115-b may obtain downlink channel estimation results Among them, M r ×M t A downlink channel matrix H may be defined. UE 115-a may calculate precoding and rank selection for a given codebook according to Equation 2 shown below and in accordance with codebooks from rank-1 to rank-R given by: {{P 1 (0),...,P 1 (L 1 -1)},...,{P R (0),...,P R(L R -1)}}.

[0110] (R * ,i * ) = argmax r,i SE est (H, P r (i)) (2)

[0111] In the example of Formula 2, SE est (H,P r (i)) can be expressed as the spectrum efficiency estimation result, where H and P r (i) may be given or known. * may represent a rank (e.g., an optimal or sufficient rank), and may represent a precoder (eg, an optimal or sufficient precoder). UE 115-a may also perform CQI calculation according to Equation 3 shown below.

[0112] CQI * =f(SE est (H, P r (i))) (3)

[0113] In the example of Equation 3, the CQI parameter may be conditioned on the rank and precoder.

[0114] In some examples, the CSI report configuration 215 may include resource settings (e.g., CSI-RS resources) and codebook configurations (e.g., for one or more codebooks). In some examples, the CSI report configuration 215 may indicate a primary codebook (e.g., a base codebook). Alternatively, the UE 115-a may select a codebook as the primary codebook from the codebooks indicated in the CSI report configuration 215. For example, the UE 115-a may determine the primary codebook using a configured set of rules (e.g., pre-configured at manufacturing time or indicated to the UE 115-a). In some examples, these rules may involve selecting a codebook with the largest or smallest number of antenna ports. If the number of antenna ports is the same for one or more codebooks, the UE 115-a may select the codebook with the largest or smallest number (e.g., N) in one direction. 1 or N 2 The minimum or maximum value of N 1 N may refer to the number of antenna elements in the horizontal direction on the panel 225, and N 2 The codebook may correspond to the number of antenna elements in the vertical direction on the panel 225. Additionally or alternatively, the UE 115-a may select a codebook associated with a resource in the CSI-RS resource set, which may be indicated in the resource settings of the reporting configuration 215.

[0115] The techniques described herein enable the UE 115-a to determine parameters for one or more additional (e.g., supplementary or derived) codebooks based on the configuration of the primary codebook or base codebook received via the CSI reporting configuration 215. For example, the UE 115-a may derive codebook parameters (e.g., beam limits and RI limits) based on the codebook parameters for the primary codebook. In some examples, one or more additional codebooks may be associated with different antenna port configurations than the primary codebook (e.g., different values of (N 1 ,N 2 ). The UE 115-a may determine the additional codebook parameters according to a codebook parameter adaptation rule that may define a relationship between a first bit and a second bit associated with the primary codebook and the additional codebook, respectively, based on the relative antenna port configurations of the primary codebook and the additional codebook. Thus, the UE 115-a may determine the supplementary codebook parameters for the supplementary codebook without explicitly signaling the codebook parameters for the supplementary codebook, which may reduce the power consumption and overhead at the UE 115-a and the network entity 105-a. The techniques for deriving the codebook parameters for the supplementary codebook are further illustrated and described elsewhere herein (including in reference Figures 3 to 5 ).

[0116] The UE 115-a may calculate CSI parameters based on one or more of the codebooks (e.g., the primary codebook and one or more additional or supplementary codebooks) configured via the CSI reporting configuration 215. For example, the UE 115-a may calculate wideband CSI parameters and subband CSI parameters based on one or more of the configured codebooks in the configured codebooks, and the UE 115-a may rank the calculated CSI parameters based on one or more metrics (e.g., based on spectral efficiency or some other metric). The UE 115-a may report one or more of the calculated CSI parameters in the CSI report 220, for example, based on the ranking.

[0117] The UE 115-a may report CSI parameters associated with all or a subset of one or more of the configured codebooks (e.g., the codebooks indicated by the CSI reporting configuration 215 or the codebooks derived by the UE 115-a). For example, if the CSI reporting configuration 215 configures N codebooks, the UE 115-a may report the CSI corresponding to X codebook configurations, where X may be less than or equal to N (e.g., 1 < X ≤ N). The codebooks for CSI reporting may be determined by the UE 115-a or may be configured by the network entity 105-a. In some cases, as referenced herein Figure 1As described, some UEs 115 may report both wideband CSI parameters and subband CSI parameters for each of the X codebooks, which may result in a relatively large amount of overhead and complexity at the UE 115-a and may result in an increase in signaling between the UE 115-a and the network entity 105-a.

[0118] The techniques, systems, and devices described herein enable reducing the overhead of CSI reporting by implementing one or more CSI reporting rules (e.g., CSI reporting restrictions). In some specific implementations, if the UE 115-a is configured to report subband CSI, the UE 115-a may be configured with restrictions on reporting (e.g., in the CSI report 220) subband CSI parameters, wideband CSI parameters, or both. In some examples, the UE 115-a may be configured to report both subband CSI parameters and wideband CSI parameters associated with each codebook in the codebook. In other examples, the UE 115 may report both subband parameters and wideband parameters associated with a base codebook (e.g., calculated based on the base codebook), and the UE 115-a may be configured to report wideband CSI parameters associated with one or more of the supplementary codebooks (e.g., calculated based on one or more of the supplementary codebooks). As described herein, UE 115-a may determine which codebook is the base codebook based on an indication, one or more parameters (e.g., antenna port configuration), one or more rules, or any combination thereof. In some other examples, UE 115 may be configured to report wideband CSI parameters associated with each codebook indicated via CSI report 220, and UE 115-a may prohibit reporting subband CSI parameters for the codebook (e.g., UE 115 may not be configured with subband CSI parameters for any of the codebooks). In some examples, restrictions on reporting CSI parameters may include restrictions on reporting CQI, PMI, or both. For example, the CSI parameters may include CQI parameters, PMI parameters, other CSI parameters, or any combination thereof.

[0119] In some examples, the codebook may consist of or may include a set of pre-decoder matrices W. Each pre-decoder matrix may be composed of a DFT vector (e.g., v l,m ), one or more codebook indices i (e.g., i 1,1 、i 1,2 、i 1,3 and i 2 ) and one or more common factors (e.g., and θ p) definition. UE 115-a may determine the number of CSI-RS ports (e.g., antenna ports) at UE 115-a based on one or more codebook indices, a cophasing factor, the number of layers configured for CSI reporting (e.g., 1-layer, 2-layer, 3-layer, etc.), N 1 and N 2 The value of , the value associated with the DFT beam limit (e.g., 1 and O 2 ), DFT vectors (e.g., ), an indication value of a codebook mode (e.g., codebookMode), or any combination thereof to calculate each pre-decoder matrix W corresponding to the codebook.

[0120] Tables 4 to 6 include examples of codebook configurations for 1-layer, 2-layer, and 3-layer CSI reporting. According to the following Tables 4 to 6, the codebooks may each be a set of pre-decoder matrices W (Layer) .

[0121]

[0122] Table 4: For use with antenna ports 3000 to 2999+P CSI RS Codebook for 1-layer CSI reporting

[0123]

[0124] Table 5: For use with antenna ports 3000 to 2999+P CSI RS Codebook for 2-layer CSI reporting

[0125]

[0126] Table 6: For use with antenna ports 3000 to 2999+P CSI RS Codebook for 3-layer CSI reporting

[0127] Therefore, the codebook can be determined based on the common phase factor, the codebook index and the DFT vector. and θ p The values of can be defined by Formula 4 and Formula 5, respectively. Additionally, the DFT vector u that can be used in Tables 4-6 is m 、v l,m and It can be defined by the following formula 6-formula 8.

[0128]

[0129] In the examples of Formula 4-Formula 8, l and m may represent an index to an entry in a codebook, which may be based on a codebook index i (eg, i 1,1 、i 1,2 and i 1,3). In some aspects, the UE 115-a may report the codebook index, the co-phasing factor, or both via the CSI report 220. Thus, the codebook described herein may include a set of entries, each of which is indexed according to an index l and m.

[0130] In some examples, the restriction on reporting PMI may be or include a restriction on the number of PMIs reported by codebook index i (eg, i 1,1 、i 1,2 and i 1,3 ) indicates a restriction on the entries, which may limit the values of l and m. The restriction may be indicated via a set of bits corresponding to the DFT vector. For example, if the DFT vector (e.g., or ) is set to restrict (e.g., not allow) UE 115-a from reporting PMI, UE 115-a may refrain from performing CSI calculations on the corresponding PMI, which may reduce power consumption and processing at UE 115-a. Thus, UE 115-a may refrain from reporting codebook indices and co-phasing factors for entries indicated by the bit. In some aspects, network entity 105-a may similarly indicate restrictions on reporting RI parameters.

[0131] Thus, the network entity 105-a indicates one or more CSI parameter restrictions (e.g., PMI restrictions and RI restrictions) for the UE 115-a for CSI reporting with reduced overhead and complexity. In some aspects, the UE 115-a may determine whether to report subband CSI, wideband CSI, or both for one or more codebooks based on configured rules, which may reduce overhead and complexity. Additionally or alternatively, the UE 115-a may derive codebook parameters (such as PMI restrictions, RI restrictions, or both) for one or more supplemental codebooks based on codebook parameters configured for the base codebook. Such codebook parameter derivations are described elsewhere herein (including reference 1 to 3). Figures 3 to 5 ) is described in further detail.

[0132] Figure 3 An example of a CSI configuration 300 supporting CSI codebook parameter configuration for dynamic antenna port adaptation according to one or more aspects of the present disclosure is illustrated. The CSI configuration 300 may be implemented as described herein with reference to Figure 1 The wireless communication system 100 and Figure 2 Aspects of the wireless communication system 200 described herein may be implemented by the same. For example, the CSI configuration 300 illustrates a CSI report configuration 305, which may represent a CSI report configuration as described herein. Figure 2The CSI reporting configuration 305 may be sent by the network entity 105 to the UE 115, and the network entity and the UE may represent the example of the CSI reporting configuration 215 described above. Figure 1 and Figure 2 Examples of the corresponding devices described.

[0133] The CSI report configuration 305 may be or may include a resource setting and a codebook configuration that may be used by the UE 115 for a CSI reporting procedure. For example, the UE 115 may transmit a CSI report to the network entity 105. The CSI report may include one or more CSI parameters that may be associated with or derived based on one or more codebooks 315. The resource setting of the CSI report configuration 305 may be or include a CSI-RS resource 310. In some examples, the CSI-RS resource 310 may be a basic resource used by the UE 115 in, for example, a CSI reporting procedure. In some cases, the CSI-RS resource 310 is a 32-port CSI-RS resource.

[0134] The codebook configuration of the CSI report configuration 305 may configure one or more codebooks 315. Each codebook 315 may be associated with an antenna port configuration (e.g., (N 1 ,N 2 ), as referenced in this article Figure 2 The CSI report configuration 305 may include codebook parameters and restrictions for multiple codebooks 315. Configuring codebook parameters for multiple codebooks 315 via a single CSI report configuration 305 may be associated with relatively high overhead and complexity.

[0135] To reduce overhead, the CSI report configuration 305 described herein may indicate or configure codebook parameters for a single codebook 315-a, which may be referred to as a base codebook or a main codebook. Each of the base codebook 315-a and one or more other codebooks 315 (which may be referred to as supplementary codebooks) indicated via the CSI report configuration 305 may be associated with a corresponding antenna port configuration. Figure 3 In the example of 1 ,N 2 )=(4,4). The base codebook 315-a may be configured with one or more beam (e.g., PMI) restrictions and RI restrictions. In some examples, the derived codebooks 315-b, 315-c, and 315-d may be associated with different antenna port configurations (e.g., (N 1 ,N 2 ) are associated with different values of ).

[0136] In some examples, CSI-RS resources 310 (e.g., base CSI-RS resources) may be shared between each of the codebooks 315. For example, UE 115 may report CSI according to CSI-RS resources 310 and any one and multiple of the configured codebooks 315-a, 315-b, 315-c, and 315-d. Alternatively, UE 115 may be configured with additional resource settings for use with the configured codebooks. For example, UE 115 may be configured (e.g., indicated in CSI reporting configuration 305 or in another configuration) with additional CSI-RS resources 310 for use with codebooks 315-b, 315-c, and 315-d.

[0137] The techniques, systems, and devices described herein enable the UE 115 to derive codebook parameters, such as beam limits and RI limits, based on the codebook parameters configured for the base codebook 315-a in the CSI report configuration 305. The UE 115 may determine additional codebook parameters based on a codebook parameter adaptation rule. For example, to determine codebook parameters for the second codebook 315-b, the rule may define a relationship between a first bit and a second bit associated with the base codebook 315-a and the second codebook 315-b, respectively, based on the relative antenna port configurations of the codebooks 315-a and 315-b. The rule may be based on the antenna configuration for the base codebook 315-a and the antenna configuration for the supplemental codebook 315-b, and codebook parameters may be derived for these codebooks. For example, N 1 、N 2 , O 1 and O 2 may represent antenna parameters and beam scanning parameters for the base codebook 315 - a, and N′ 1 , N′ 2 , O′ 1 and O′ 2 Antenna parameters and beam scanning parameters for supplemental codebook 315-b may be indicated.UE 115 may determine PMI restrictions for codebooks 315-b, 315-c, and 315-d based on the PMI restrictions indicated for codebook 315-a and a predetermined rule.

[0138] UE 115 may report CSI according to one or more codebooks in codebook 315. For example, UE 115 may calculate CSI for each codebook 315-a, 315-b, 315-c, and 315-d. UE 115 may report one or more of the calculated CSI parameters (e.g., in the same CSI report). Additionally or alternatively, UE 115 may report CSI parameters corresponding to base codebook 315-a and, in some cases, one or more supplemental CSI parameters corresponding to other codebooks (e.g., derived codebooks 315-b, 315-c, and 315-d).

[0139] Thus, as described herein, the UE 115 may derive codebook parameters for one or more supplemental codebooks 315 based on the configuration of the base codebook 315. The network entity 105 may refrain from sending indications of codebook parameters for the supplemental codebook 315 based on the ability or configuration of the UE 115 to derive the parameters. Thus, by deriving codebook parameters (such as PMI restrictions, RI restrictions, or both), the UE 115 may reduce overhead and complexity. Techniques for deriving codebook parameters are described elsewhere herein (including references to Figure 4 and Figure 5 ) is described in further detail.

[0140] Figure 4 An example of a codebook parameter adaptation scheme 400 for supporting CSI codebook parameter configuration for dynamic antenna port adaptation according to one or more aspects of the present disclosure is illustrated. The codebook parameter adaptation scheme 400 illustrates the CSI codebook parameter configuration for dynamic antenna port adaptation as described herein (including references Figure 2 and Figure 3 ) as described in the embodiment of the present invention, the bitmap used by the UE 115 to derive the codebook parameters for the supplementary codebook according to the codebook parameters configured for the basic codebook. The codebook parameter adaptation scheme 400 illustrates that the second bitmap 405-b indicating the RI restriction or the PMI restriction for the supplementary codebook is adapted or derived according to the first bitmap 405-a indicating the first RI restriction or the first PMI restriction for the basic codebook. The first bitmap 405-a can be indicated to the UE 115 via the CSI report configuration, as described herein with reference to Figure 3 described.

[0141] In some implementations, the antenna parameter N corresponding to the codebook may be indicated by the network entity via a bitmap parameter (eg, a higher layer parameter, n1-n2) in the CSI report configuration. 1 and N 2 The bitmap parameter may be indicated as a bit sequence. In some aspects, the bitmap parameter may be mapped to a PMI for a codebook, such as Figure 4 For example, the bitmap 405 may be composed of a bit sequence Formation, where a 0 can be the least significant bit 410, The most significant bit 410 may be one or more bits 410 set to a first value (eg, zero) may indicate a PMI restriction (eg, PMI reporting is not allowed for any precoder associated with the bit). c It may correspond to the total number of bits given by the following formula 9.

[0142] A c =N 1 O 1 N 2 O2 (9)

[0143] In some examples, if the number of layers v is not v∈{3,4} or the number of antenna ports is not 16, 24, or 32, then The number of bits can be based on the number v l,m The value of is associated with all pre-decoders, where the values of l and m are shown in Equations 10 and 11 below.

[0144] l=0,...,N 1 O 1 -1 (10)

[0145] m=0,...,N 2 O 2 -1 (11)

[0146] Alternatively, if the number of layers is v∈{3,4} and the number of antenna ports is 16, 24 or 32, corresponding to and The bits may each be based on the value of the number m from formula 10 and the number The value of is associated with all pre-decoders, where the value of m is given by Formula 11 shown below and the value of l is given by Formula 12 shown below. If one or more of the associated bits is zero, PMI reporting may not be allowed based on the number to correspond to any pre-decoder.

[0147] l=0,...,N 1 O 1 -1 (12)

[0148] As described herein, the UE 115 may determine a PMI limit for an additional (e.g., supplemental) codebook based on one or more PMI limits determined or indicated for a first codebook (e.g., a primary codebook or a base codebook) and a rule such that the network entity 105 may refrain from indicating a PMI limit (e.g., and other codebook parameters) for each codebook via a CSI reporting configuration. The rule may be based on an N corresponding to an antenna configuration for the first codebook. 1 、N 2 , O 1 and O 2 The value of and N′ which may correspond to the antenna configuration for the additional codebook 1 , N′ 2 , O′ 1 and O′ 2In some cases, the rule may be indicated to UE 115 via control signaling, or configured (e.g., preconfigured) at UE 115. In some examples, the rule may specify a relationship between bits 410 of a first bit sequence corresponding to a first codebook and bits of a second bit sequence corresponding to an additional codebook. For example, the rule may define a relationship between bits 410 of bitmap 405-a and bits 410 of bitmap 405-b (e.g., bits of the first bit sequence). The corresponding bits of the second bit sequence ) between them.

[0149] The bitmap 405-b corresponding to the supplemental codebook may be determined (eg, by the UE 115). For example, the UE 115 may use the rule, the bitmap 405-a corresponding to the first codebook (eg, the bitmap 405-a and N 1 、N 2 , O 1 and O 2 The value of ) and N′ which may correspond to the antenna configuration for the additional codebook 1 , N′ 2 , O′ 1 and O′ 2 The value of N′ determines the PMI restriction for the supplementary codebook. In some cases, such as when the antenna configuration of the additional codebook is different from the antenna configuration of the first codebook, N′ 1 , N′ 2 , O′ 1 and O′ 2 The value of N can be different from 1 、N 2 , O 1 and O 2 Thus, the number of bits 410 in bitmap 405-b may be different from the number of bits 410 in bitmap 405-a, such as Figure 4 exemplified.

[0150] exist Figure 4 In the example of FIG. 4 , the first codebook corresponding to the bitmap 405 - a may be configured with (N 1 ,N 2 ,O 1 ,O 2 The number of rows in bitmap 405-a may correspond to the value N 1 O 1 , which in this example may be eight. Similarly, the number of columns in bitmap 405 - a may correspond to the value N 2 O 2 , which value may be eight in this example. The additional codebook corresponding to bitmap 405-b may be configured with (N′ 1 ,N′ 2 ,O′1 ,O′ 2 ) values (2,1,4,1). Thus, the bitmap 405-b may include one row and eight columns (eg, N′ 1 O′ 1 = 1 and N′ 2 O′ 2 =8).

[0151] In some examples, UE 115 may determine the PMI limit for bitmap 405-b based on the PMI limit in bitmap 405-a and the rule or rule set. The rule set may define a relationship between bitmap 405-a and bitmap 405-b so that UE 115 may map entries in bitmap 405-a to entries in bitmap 405-b. Figure 4 In the example of , bitmap 405-a and bitmap 405-b may have the same number of bits 410 in at least one dimension (e.g., eight bits 410 in the horizontal direction), but a different number of bits in the vertical direction. Thus, the rule may direct UE 115 to compress bits 410 from bitmap 405-a to adapt or map to bitmap 405-b. For example, if any bit 410 in the first column of bitmap 405-a indicates PMI restriction (e.g., has a value of zero), UE 115 may determine that bit 410-c in the first column of bitmap 405-b should indicate PMI restriction (e.g., has a value of 0).

[0152] In this example, bit 410-a in the first column of bitmap 405-a indicates PMI restriction, and thus, UE 115 may determine that bit 410-c in the first column of bitmap 405-b should indicate PMI restriction. In addition, UE 115 may determine that because there is no bit 410 indicating PMI restriction in the second column of bitmap 405-a, bit 410-d in the second column of bitmap 405-b should not indicate PMI restriction (e.g., should have a value of one). UE 115 may similarly determine that bit 410-e in the third column of bitmap 405-b should indicate PMI restriction based on bit 410-b in the third column of bitmap 405-a indicating PMI restriction. UE 115 may similarly determine that the seventh column of bitmap 405-b includes PMI restriction based on the seventh column of bitmap 405-a including PMI restriction.

[0153] UE 115 may perform a similar derivation procedure to determine other codebook parameters. For example, UE 115 may determine the RI limit for an additional (e.g., supplemental) codebook based on antenna parameters for a first codebook (e.g., a main codebook or a base codebook) and an additional codebook, an RI limit associated with the first codebook, and a rule or rule set. For example, the rule set may indicate that if the additional codebook has a relatively small number of CSI-RS antenna ports and the first codebook has a relatively large number of CSI-RS antenna ports and supports high rank (e.g., high RI), UE 115-a may determine not to use the high rank assumption when calculating the CSI for the additional codebook. In some cases, UE 115-a may determine not to use the high rank assumption when the CSI-RS antenna ports of the additional codebook are below a threshold number, the CSI-RS antenna ports of the first codebook are above a threshold number, the difference between the number of CSI-RS antenna ports of the first codebook and the additional codebook is above a threshold number, or any combination thereof.

[0154] Thus, by utilizing a codebook parameter adaptation rule or set of rules configured as described herein, the UE 115 may determine a PMI limit for bits 410 of a bitmap 405-b associated with a supplemental codebook based on a PMI limit for bits 410 of a bitmap 405-a associated with a base codebook. In some aspects described herein, the UE 115 may utilize a similar codebook parameter adaptation rule or set of rules and an RI limit associated with or configured for a base codebook to determine an RI limit for a supplemental codebook.

[0155] Figure 5 An example of a codebook parameter adaptation scheme 500 for supporting CSI codebook parameter configuration for dynamic antenna port adaptation according to one or more aspects of the present disclosure is illustrated. The codebook parameter adaptation scheme 500 may be implemented as described herein. Figure 1 The wireless communication system 100 and Figure 2 Aspects of the wireless communication system 200 described herein may be implemented by the wireless communication system 200. For example, the codebook parameter adaptation scheme 500 illustrates an example of a method as described herein with reference to Figure 2-Figure 4 The bitmap 505 used by the UE 115 to determine the CSI restriction for the supplementary codebook based on the basic codebook. The codebook parameter adaptation scheme 500 may refer to Figure 4 For example, the codebook parameter adaptation scheme 500 illustrates a bitmap 505-a and a bitmap 505-b, which may be as described herein. Figure 4 An example of the bitmap 405 is shown.

[0156] The bitmap 505-a may correspond to a bitmap indicated for a first codebook (e.g., a primary codebook or a base codebook), and the bitmap 505-b may correspond to a bitmap derived by the UE 115 for a supplemental codebook (e.g., an additional codebook). The first codebook may be associated with a first antenna configuration parameter set (N 1 、N 2 , O 1 and O 2 ), and the second codebook may be associated with the second antenna configuration parameter set (N′ 1 , N′ 2 , O′ 1 and O′ 2 ) is associated with, as referenced in this article Figure 2-Figure 4 In some cases, such as when the antenna configuration of the additional codebook is different from the antenna configuration of the first codebook, N′ 1 , N′ 2 , O′ 1 and O′ 2 The value of N can be different from 1 、N 2 , O 1 and O 2 Thus, the bitmap 505-b may correspond to a bit sequence having a different number of bits 510, such as Figure 5 exemplified.

[0157] As reference Figure 4 As described, the UE 115 may determine a bitmap 505-b based on the PMI restriction indicated via the first bitmap 505-a associated with the first codebook and a codebook parameter adaptation rule, which may represent the PMI restriction for the supplemental codebook. The rule may specify a relationship between the bits 510 of the bitmap 505-a and the bitmap 505-b. The rule may be based on the N corresponding to the antenna configuration for the first codebook. 1 、N 2 , O 1 and O 2 The value of and N′ corresponding to the antenna configuration for the additional codebook 1 , N′ 2 , O′ 1 and O′ 2 The value of .

[0158] like Figure 5 As shown in the example, the first codebook corresponding to the bitmap 505-a may be configured with (N 1 ,N 2 ,O 1 ,O 2 The number of rows in bitmap 505-a may correspond to the value N 1 O 1, which in this example may be 16. Similarly, the number of columns in bitmap 505 - a may correspond to the value N 2 O 2 , which in this example may be 16. The additional codebook corresponding to bitmap 505-b may be configured (or determined by UE 115) to have (N′ 1 ,N′ 2 ,O′ 1 ,O′ 2 ) values (4,2,4,4). Thus, bitmap 505-b may have 16 rows and eight columns.

[0159] exist Figure 5 In an example of , the rule may indicate (e.g., based on a ratio of values of corresponding antenna port configuration parameters) that two bits 510 of bitmap 505-a may correspond to a single bit 510 of bitmap 505-a. That is, UE 115 may associate two columns of bitmap 505-a with a single column of bitmap 505-b. For example, UE 115 may determine whether bit 510-c in bitmap 505-b should indicate PMI restriction (e.g., have a value of 0) based on whether bit 510-a or bit 510-b indicates PMI restriction (e.g., has a value of 0). In this example, UE 115 may determine that bit 510-c should indicate PMI restriction because bit 510-b indicates PMI restriction. UE 115 may determine that neither of the two bits 510 in bitmap 505-a that are mapped to bit 510-d of bitmap 505-b indicates PMI restriction. Thus, UE 115 may determine that bit 510 - d of bitmap 505 - b should not indicate PMI restriction.

[0160] Thus, the UE 115 may utilize the rule (eg, the relationship between the bits 510) to determine the PMI limit for each of the bits 510 in the bitmap 505-b. Figure 4 As described, in some aspects described herein, the UE 115 can utilize similar codebook parameter adaptation rules or rule sets and RI limits associated with or configured for the base codebook to determine RI limits for the supplemental codebook. Thus, the UE 115 can derive codebook parameters, which can reduce overhead and complexity while maintaining reliable communication.

[0161] Figure 6 An example of a process flow 600 for supporting CSI codebook parameter configuration for dynamic antenna port adaptation according to one or more aspects of the present disclosure is illustrated. For example, the process flow 600 illustrates communication between a UE 115-b and a network entity 105-b, which may be as described herein (including references to Figures 1 to 5 )An example of a corresponding device described in ).

[0162] At 605, the network entity 105-b may send a CSI reporting configuration to the UE 115-b. The CSI reporting configuration may include (e.g., contain or indicate) one or more codebook parameter sets associated with one or more codebooks. For example, the control message may include a first set of codebook parameters associated with a first codebook (e.g., a base codebook or a master codebook). Each of the one or more codebook parameter sets may include an antenna port configuration, a rank restriction parameter, one or more PMI restrictions, or any combination thereof. In some examples, the CSI reporting configuration may indicate, for example, one or more CSI-RS resources (e.g., in a set of CSI-RS resources) to be used when the UE 115-b calculates CSI information (e.g., performs CSI measurements). In some aspects, a codebook in the one or more codebooks may be associated with a CSI-RS resource.

[0163] In some aspects, UE 115-b may determine that the first codebook is a base codebook (e.g., a primary codebook) based on the codebook being associated with a CSI-RS resource, based on the number of antenna ports associated with the first codebook, based on the number of antenna ports associated with a second codebook (e.g., an additional codebook or a supplemental codebook), based on a base codebook selection rule, or any combination thereof. Additionally or alternatively, a control message or some other control signaling sent to UE 115-b may indicate that the first codebook is a base codebook (e.g., a primary codebook).

[0164] At 610, the network entity 105-b may send one or more CSI-RS to the UE 115-b. The UE 115-b may receive the one or more CSI-RS associated with the CSI calculation. Figure 6 The CSI-RS is illustrated as being sent after the control message, but it should be understood that in some examples, the network entity 105-b may send one or more CSI-RS before or at the same time as sending the control message.

[0165] At 615, UE 115-b may determine one or more codebook parameter sets associated with one or more supplemental codebooks. For example, UE 115-b may determine a codebook parameter set for at least a second codebook based on a codebook parameter set associated with a base codebook and based on a codebook parameter adaptation rule. In some cases, the codebook parameter adaptation rule may be based on one or more PMI restriction parameters associated with the base codebook, RI restriction parameters associated with the base codebook, antenna port configuration associated with the base codebook, antenna port configuration associated with the second codebook, or any combination thereof. In some examples, UE 115-b may determine a codebook parameter set for an additional codebook based on an indication of a codebook parameter set in a control message. The codebook parameter set may include a PMI restriction, an RI restriction, or both, as described herein with reference to Figure 4 and Figure 5 described.

[0166] At 620, UE 115-b may calculate one or more CSI parameters based on the base codebook and, in some cases, based on one or more additional codebooks. In some examples, UE 115-b may determine not to calculate some CSI parameters (such as PMI parameters), such as when the DFT vector (e.g., or ) is set to not allow UE 115-b to report PMI to network entity 105-b. In some examples, UE 115-b may calculate wideband CSI parameters and subband CSI parameters based on a base codebook and one or more additional codebooks, and UE 115-b may sort the calculated CSI based on one or more parameters (e.g., spectral efficiency).

[0167] At 625, UE 115-b may send a CSI report to network entity 105-b that indicates a set of CSI parameters (e.g., CQI parameters, PMI parameters, or other parameters calculated by UE 115-b) for the primary codebook and, in some cases, for one or more additional codebooks. In some examples, UE 115-b may send wideband CSI parameters, subband CSI parameters, or both calculated based on at least one of the primary codebook and the additional codebook. UE 115-b may select which CSI parameters to report based on one or more configured restrictions for reporting CSI parameters, as described herein with reference to Figures 2 to 5 described.

[0168] At 630, the network entity 105-b may perform a scheduling operation based on the received CSI parameters. For example, the network entity 105-b may select resources (e.g., channel resources or beam resources) based on the received CSI parameters. At 635, the network entity 105-b may send a downlink message according to the scheduling operation and based on the received CSI parameters. In some aspects, the network entity 105-b may send control information for scheduling the downlink message (e.g., via a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH)). In such cases, the network entity 105-b may indicate the scheduling operation via the control information.

If implemented in code executed by a processor, the functionality of the communication manager 720, the receiver 710, the transmitter 715, or various combinations or components thereof may be performed by a general purpose processor (e.g., configured as or otherwise supporting components for performing the functions described in the present disclosure), a DSP, a CPU, an ASIC, an FPGA, a microcontroller, or any combination of these or other programmable logic devices.

[0183] Fig. 9 A block diagram 900 of a communication manager 920 supporting CSI codebook parameter configuration for dynamic antenna port adaptation according to one or more aspects of the present disclosure is shown. The communication manager 920 may be an example of aspects of the communication manager 720, the communication manager 820, or both as described herein. The communication manager 920 or its various components may be examples of means for performing aspects of CSI codebook parameter configuration for dynamic antenna port adaptation as described herein. For example, the communication manager 920 may include a reporting component 925, a codebook component 930, a reference signal component 935, a PMI limiting component 940, an RI limiting component 945, or any combination thereof. Each of these components may communicate directly or indirectly with each other (e.g., via one or more buses).

[0184] According to examples as disclosed herein, the communication manager 920 may support wireless communications at a UE. The reporting component 925 may be configured to or otherwise support a component for receiving a CSI reporting configuration including a first set of codebook parameters associated with at least a first codebook via a control message, the first codebook being associated with a CSI measurement at the UE. In some examples, the reporting component 925 may be configured to or otherwise support a component for sending a respective set of CSI parameters for each of the first codebook and the second codebook via a CSI report based on the first set of codebook parameters, the second set of codebook parameters, and the CSI calculation at the UE.

[0185] In some examples, to support sending the respective set of CSI parameters, reporting component 925 may be configured to or otherwise support means for sending, via a CSI report, a first set of CSI parameters including a first wideband CSI parameter associated with a first codebook and a first subband CSI parameter associated with the first codebook. In some examples, to support sending the respective set of CSI parameters, reporting component 925 may be configured to or otherwise support means for sending, via a CSI report, a second set of CSI parameters including a second wideband CSI parameter associated with a second codebook, wherein the first set of CSI parameters and the second set of CSI parameters include at least CQI parameters, PMI parameters, or both.

[0186] In some examples, codebook component 930 may be configured or otherwise support means for receiving a control signal indicating that the first codebook is a base codebook, wherein sending both the first wideband CSI parameter and the first subband CSI parameter associated with the first codebook is based on the indication that the first codebook is a base codebook.

[0187] In some examples, codebook component 930 may be configured or otherwise support means for determining that the first codebook is a base codebook based on a first number of antenna ports associated with the first codebook, a second number of antenna ports associated with the second codebook, and a base codebook selection rule, wherein sending both the first wideband CSI parameter and the first subband CSI parameter associated with the first codebook is based on the first codebook being a base codebook.

[0188] In some examples, codebook component 930 may be configured to or otherwise support means for determining that the first codebook is a base codebook based on the first codebook being associated with a CSI-RS resource in a CSI-RS resource set indicated via a CSI reporting configuration, wherein sending both a first wideband CSI parameter and a first subband CSI parameter associated with the first codebook is based on the first codebook being a base codebook.

[0189] In some examples, to support sending a corresponding set of CSI parameters, reporting component 925 may be configured as or otherwise support components for sending a corresponding set of wideband CSI parameters for each of the first codebook and the second codebook via a CSI report, wherein the corresponding set of wideband CSI parameters includes at least CQI parameters, PMI parameters, or both.

[0190] In some examples, to support sending a corresponding set of CSI parameters, reporting component 925 may be configured to or otherwise support means for sending a corresponding set of subband CSI parameters and a corresponding set of wideband CSI parameters for each of the first codebook and the second codebook via a CSI report, wherein the corresponding set of subband CSI parameters and the corresponding set of wideband CSI parameters include at least CQI parameters, PMI parameters, or both.

[0191] In some examples, to support determining the second set of codebook parameters, codebook component 930 may be configured to or otherwise support means for determining the second set of codebook parameters based on the first set of codebook parameters associated with the first codebook and a codebook parameter adaptation rule.
