AI Technical Summary
In the unlicensed spectrum, after obtaining the channel occupation time, the user equipment (UE) needs to frequently perform the first and then talk (LBT) process to access the channel, resulting in inefficient resource selection.
A UE for resource selection is provided, selects a candidate multi-time slot resource set by receiving a parameter set related to resource selection from a higher layer, and reports it to a higher layer. The UE selects candidate multi-time slot resources based on the RB set associated with the candidate single slot resources or selected resources, optimizing the resource selection process.
By optimizing resource selection, UE can more efficiently retain channel occupancy time, reduce LBT frequency, and improve data transmission rate.

Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present disclosure relates to wireless communications, and in particular to methods and apparatus for resource selection. Background Art
[0002] In an unlicensed spectrum, before any transmission, a base station (BS) or user equipment (UE) may need to perform a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure, and if the LBT procedure is successful, the BS or UE may perform the transmission, otherwise, the transmission cannot be performed. The BS or UE may use the LBT Type 1 procedure to obtain channel occupancy (CO). The CO may be associated with a duration, i.e., the CO is obtained by the BS within the duration; the CO may be associated with a frequency band, i.e., the CO is obtained by the BS for a frequency band, or the CO may be associated with both the duration and the frequency band. In the following of the present disclosure, the term "channel occupation time (COT)" is used to describe the present disclosure, and those skilled in the art know that the terms "COT" and "CO" may also be used interchangeably.
[0003] In the sidelink unlicensed (SL-U) system, in order to reduce the need or frequency for the UE to perform LBT to access the channel once the COT is acquired, multiple consecutive time slot transmissions (MCSt) have been supported. With MCSt, the UE can retain the COT and perform data transmission as much as possible in multiple consecutive time slots.
[0004] Therefore, it would be advantageous to provide a solution for resource selection for multiple consecutive time slots. Summary of the invention
[0005] An embodiment of the present disclosure provides a UE for resource selection, comprising: a first layer; and a higher layer; wherein the first layer is used to: receive a parameter set associated with resource selection for a first transport block (TB) from a higher layer; select a candidate multi-slot resource set for the first TB, wherein the candidate multi-slot resources in the candidate multi-slot resource set are selected based on a set of candidate resource blocks (RBs) associated with each candidate single-slot resource in the candidate multi-slot resources, or based on selected resources for a second TB; and report the candidate multi-slot resource set to the higher layer.
[0006] In some embodiments, the parameter set includes at least one of: the number of subchannels used for multi-continuous time slot transmission (MCSt); the number of consecutive time slots used for MCSt.
[0007] In some embodiments, the parameter set further includes: the selected resources for the second TB, wherein the selected resources for the second TB are associated with a resource selection window of the first TB.
[0008] In some embodiments, the first layer is further configured to: determine at least one set of candidate RB sets based on the number of subchannels, wherein each set of candidate RB sets includes a minimum number of RB sets.
[0009] In some embodiments, in case the minimum number of RB sets is more than one, the RB sets in each group of candidate RB sets are conservative in the frequency domain.
[0010] In some embodiments, the candidate multi-slot resources include a plurality of consecutive candidate single-slot resources, and each candidate single-slot resource is in the same set of candidate RB sets.
[0011] In some embodiments, when the candidate multi-slot resource is selected based on the selected resource for the second TB, the start time of the candidate multi-slot resource is earlier than or equal to the start time of the selected resource for the second TB, and the end time of the candidate multi-slot resource is later than or equal to the end time of the selected resource for the second TB.
[0012] In some embodiments, when the candidate multi-slot resources are selected based on the selected resources for the second TB, the candidate multi-slot resources include candidate single-slot resources for the first TB and the selected resources for the second TB, and all candidate single-slot resources for the first TB and the selected resources for the second TB are continuous in the time domain.
[0013] In some embodiments, the candidate single-slot resources for the first TB and the selected resources for the second TB are in the same set of RBs.
[0014] In some embodiments, when a set of RB sets of the selected resources for the second TB includes all RB sets in a set of RB sets of candidate single-slot resources for the first TB, the selected resources for the second TB are positioned earlier in the time domain than the resources for the first TB.
[0015] In some embodiments, when a set of RB sets of candidate single-slot resources for the first TB includes all RB sets in a set of RB sets of the selected resources for the second TB, the selected resources for the second TB are later than the resources for the first TB in the time domain.
[0016] In some embodiments, a reference signal received power (RSRP) threshold for resource selection is increased if the total number of candidate multi-slot resources is less than the total number of multi-slot resources multiplied by a factor.
[0017] In some embodiments, the total number of candidate multi-slot resources refers to a first total number of candidate multi-slot resources determined based on the set of candidate RB sets associated with each candidate single-slot resource in each candidate multi-slot resource, or a second total number of candidate multi-slot resources determined based on the selected resources for the second TB, or the sum of the first total number and the second total number.
[0018] In some embodiments, if the first total number is less than the total number of multi-slot resources multiplied by a factor, or if the second total number is less than the total number of multi-slot resources multiplied by a factor, the RSRP threshold is increased.
[0019] In some embodiments, in a case where the first total number is less than the total number of multi-slot resources multiplied by a factor, the first layer is further configured to select the candidate multi-slot resources based on the selected resources for the second TB to obtain the second total number of candidate multi-slot resources from the remaining multi-slot resources; and in a case where the sum of the first total number and the second total number is less than the total number of multi-slot resources multiplied by a factor, the RSRP threshold is increased.
[0020] In some embodiments, when the second total number is less than the total number of multi-slot resources multiplied by a factor, the first layer is further configured to select the candidate multi-slot resources based on the set of candidate RB sets associated with each candidate single-slot resource in the candidate multi-slot resources to obtain the first total number of candidate multi-slot resources from the remaining multi-slot resources; or when the sum of the first total number and the second total number is less than the total number of multi-slot resources multiplied by a factor, the RSRP threshold is increased.
[0021] Another embodiment of the present disclosure provides a method for resource selection, comprising: receiving a parameter set associated with resource selection for a first TB from a higher layer; selecting a candidate multi-slot resource set for the first TB, wherein the candidate multi-slot resources in the candidate multi-slot resource set are selected based on a set of candidate RB sets associated with each candidate single-slot resource in the candidate multi-slot resources, or based on selected resources for a second TB; and reporting the candidate multi-slot resource set to the higher layer. [0033] Reference will now be made in detail to some embodiments of the present disclosure, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. For ease of understanding, embodiments are provided under specific network architectures and new service scenarios (e.g., cellular telephone networks, networks based on time division multiple access (TDMA), networks based on code division multiple access (CDMA), networks based on orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA), LTE networks, networks based on the third generation partnership project (3GPP), LTE, LTE-Advanced (LTE-A), 3GPP 4G, 3GPP 5G NR, 3GPP Release 16 and later, satellite communication networks, high altitude platform networks, etc.). It is considered that with the development of network architectures and new service scenarios, all embodiments in the present disclosure are also applicable to similar technical problems; and in addition, the terms cited in the present disclosure may change, which should not affect the principles of the present disclosure.
[0034] The UE in the NR SL-U scenario may be referred to as a SL UE. A SL UE transmitting data on a side link in an unlicensed spectrum may be referred to as a transmitting UE, a transmitting UE, a transmitting SL UE, a Tx SL UE, a Tx UE, a SL Tx UE, a SL BWP Tx UE, a UE, or the like. A SL UE receiving data on a side link in an unlicensed spectrum may be referred to as a receiving UE, a receiving UE, a receiving SL UE, a Rx UE, a Rx SL UE, a SL Rx UE, a UE, or the like.
[0035] SL UEs may include computing devices such as desktop computers, laptop computers, personal digital assistants (PDAs), tablet computers, smart TVs (e.g., TVs connected to the Internet), set-top boxes, game consoles, security systems (including security cameras), vehicle-mounted computers, network devices (e.g., routers, switches, and modems), Internet of Things (IoT) devices, personal computers (PCs), gaming consoles, extended reality (XR) devices, or the like.
[0036] According to some embodiments of the present disclosure, the SL UE may include a portable wireless communication device, a smart phone, a cellular phone, a flip phone, a device with a subscriber identity module, a personal computer, a selective call receiver, or any other device capable of sending and receiving communication signals on a wireless network.
[0037] According to some embodiments of the present disclosure, the SL UE includes a wearable device, such as a smart watch, a fitness band, an optical head-mounted display, or the like. In addition, the SL UE may be referred to as a subscriber unit, a mobile device, a mobile station, a user, a terminal, a mobile terminal, a wireless terminal, a fixed terminal, a subscriber station, a user terminal, or a device, or described using other terms used in the art. The SL UE may communicate directly with the BS via a communication signal.
[0038] The BS in the NR SL-U scenario may be referred to as a base unit, base, access point, access terminal, macro cell, Node-B, enhanced Node B (eNB), gNB, home Node-B, relay node, device, remote unit, or described by any other term used in the art. The BS may be distributed throughout a geographic area. In general, a BS is part of a radio access network that may include one or more controllers that are communicatively coupled to one or more corresponding base stations.
[0039] A BS may serve several SL UEs within a service area, such as a cell or a cell sector, via wireless communication links. A BS may communicate directly with one or more SL UEs via communication signals. For example, a BS may serve SL UEs within a macro cell.
[0040] In the NR SL-U scenario, the sidelink communication between the Tx UE and the receiving (Rx) UE includes multicast communication, unicast communication or broadcast communication.
[0041] Figure 1 A wireless communication system 100 (eg, a SL-U communication system) according to some embodiments of the present disclosure is described.
[0042] like Figure 1 As shown in FIG. 1 , a wireless communication system 100 includes a base station (e.g., BS 102), and some UEs (e.g., UE 101-A, UE 101-B, UE 101-C, and UE 101-D). UE 101-A and UE 101-B are within the coverage of BS 102, and UE 101-C and UE 101-D are outside the coverage of BS 102. UE 101-A, UE 101-B, UE 101-C, and UE 101-D may perform sidelink unicast transmission, sidelink multicast transmission, or sidelink broadcast transmission in an unlicensed spectrum such as a SL BWP. UE 101-A, UE 101-B, UE 101-C, and UE 101-D may be referred to as SL UEs. It is contemplated that, according to some other embodiments of the present disclosure, a SL-U communication system may include more BSs and more or fewer SL UEs.
[0043] In addition, despite Figure 1 The SL UE shown in the figure is illustrated in the shape of a mobile phone, but according to some other embodiments of the present disclosure, it is considered that the SL communication system may include any type of UE (e.g., a roadmap device, a mobile phone, a computer, a laptop computer, an IoT device, or other types of devices).
[0044] according to Figure 1In some embodiments, UE 101-A may be used as a Tx UE, and UE 101-B, UE 101-C, and UE 101-D may be used as Rx UEs. UE 101-A may exchange SL messages with UE 101-B or UE 101-C via a PC5 interface defined in a 3GPP document by using, for example, a side link of NR technology or LTE technology. UE 101-A may transmit information or data to another UE within the SL-U communication system via sidelink unicast, sidelink multicast, or sidelink broadcast. For example, UE 101-A may transmit data to UE 101-B in a sidelink unicast session. UE 101-A may transmit data to UE 101-B and UE 101-C in a multicast group via a sidelink multicast transmission session. Moreover, UE 101-A may transmit data to UE 101-B and UE 101-C via a sidelink broadcast transmission session.
[0045] Alternatively, according to Figure 1 In some other embodiments, UE 101-B or UE 101-C may function as a Tx UE and transmit information or data, and UE 101-A may function as a Rx UE and receive information or data from UE 101-B or UE 101-C.
[0046] exist Figure 1 In the embodiment of , both UE 101-A and UE 101-B may transmit information to BS 102, and receive control information from BS 102, for example, via a Uu interface. BS 102 may define one or more cells, and each cell may have a coverage area. Figure 1 As shown in FIG. 1 , both UE 101 -A and UE 101 -B are within the coverage of BS 102 , while UE 101 -C and UE 101 -D are not within the coverage of BS 102 .
[0047] The UE may operate in different modes. At least the following two sidelink resource allocation modes are defined for sidelink communication: Resource Allocation Mode 1: The BS may schedule sidelink resources for use by the UE for sidelink transmission; and Resource Allocation Mode 2: The UE may determine the sidelink transmission resources within the sidelink resources configured by the BS or the network or the pre-configured sidelink resources. In Resource Allocation Mode 2, the BS may not schedule sidelink resources for the UE. Figure 1 , UE 101-A and UE 101-B may be in resource allocation mode 1, and UE 101-C and UE 101-D may be in resource allocation mode 2. In some other cases, UE 101-A and UE 101-B may also operate in resource allocation mode 2. Hereinafter, in the present disclosure, "mode 1" may refer to resource allocation mode 1, and "mode 2" may refer to resource allocation mode 2.
[0048] For a UE in resource allocation mode 2, in order to perform multiple consecutive time slot transmission, the UE may select a multi-slot resource including multiple consecutive time slots in the time domain. However, the sidelink resource selection for the UE in mode 2 is based on a single time slot, and there is no sidelink resource selection for the UE in mode 2 based on multiple consecutive time slots.
[0049] Therefore, enhancements to resource allocation mode 2 are needed to support MCSt. For MCSt, considering that the maximum COT can be from 2ms to 10ms, the number of consecutive time slots can be from 2 time slots to 20 time slots. When a larger number of consecutive time slots is required, it may be difficult for the UE to select consecutive time slots considering reservations from other SL UEs and its own already selected resources. In order to improve the data rate, a resource pool may be configured with multiple RB sets, and according to the provisions for transmissions with multiple RB sets, the UE should perform LBT on all RB sets occupied by the transmission. For MCSt, multiple RB sets that will affect the LBT process for multiple consecutive time slots may also be considered.
[0050] This disclosure proposes some solutions for resource selection of MCSt as follows.
[0051] Operation 1:
[0052] A higher layer (e.g., a MAC layer or an entity of a UE that can perform a MAC layer function) may trigger layer 1 (L1, e.g., a physical layer or an entity of a UE that can perform a physical layer function) to report a candidate resource set for MCSt, i.e., a candidate multi-slot resource set. The higher layer may also indicate a parameter set for L1. The parameter may include at least one of the following:
[0053] 1. The priority associated with the transmission, which can be expressed as: prio TX ;
[0054] 2. The remaining packet delay budget (PDB) for transmission;
[0055] 3. The number of subchannels to be used for transmission in a time slot, which can be expressed as: L subCH ;
[0056] 4. Resource reservation interval, P rsvp_TX , in milliseconds;
[0057] 5. The number of consecutive single-slot resources within a multi-slot resource, which can be expressed as: L slots ;or
[0058] 6. Selected resources for other TB or several TBs. The transmission of other TBs can be performed in a single time slot or in multiple time slots.
[0059] In some embodiments, only one parameter set may be provided for the resource selection process in L1. TX , remaining PDB, L subCH and P rsvp_TX ). In some other embodiments, multiple parameter sets may be provided.
[0060] Operation 2:
[0061] After receiving the above parameters, L1 (eg, physical layer) may determine the number of RB sets. In some embodiments, L1 may determine the minimum number of RB sets based on the number of subchannels to be used for transmission in a timeslot.
[0062] In the unlicensed spectrum, in order to improve the data rate, one resource pool can be configured with multiple channels. A channel can also be called an RB set, that is, one resource pool can be configured with multiple RB sets.
[0063] The transmission of a TB may occupy multiple RB sets, and before the transmission of the TB, the UE may perform an LBT process on each RB set. Only when the LBT on all RB sets occupied by the transmission is successful, the UE may perform the transmission on multiple RB sets. For the indicated number of subchannels that may be indicated by a higher layer to the physical layer, the UE may determine that the number of subchannels (i.e., L subCH ) is the number of RB sets transmitted (e.g., the minimum number of RB sets). Assuming that each RB set can include N subchannels, the minimum number of RB sets can be equal to in Can point to a round-up function.
[0064] In the case where the minimum number of RB sets is more than one, the RB sets should be continuous in the frequency domain to use the intra-cell guard band. RB sets being continuous in the frequency domain helps to avoid the uncertainty of multiple LBT processes on multiple RB sets.
[0065] Based on the indicated number of subchannels (ie, L subCH ), L1 can determine many groups of candidate RB sets, and each group can contain the minimum number of RB sets.
[0066] Figure 2 The RB set configuration according to some embodiments of the present disclosure is described.
[0067] exist Figure 2 In the example, the resource pool may include four RB sets, namely RB set #0, RB set #1, RB set #2 and RB set #3. Each RB set may include five subchannels. Between two RB sets, there is a guard band, which may be referred to as an intra-cell guard band.
[0068] When the number of subchannels is less than or equal to 5, that is, L subCHWhen ≤5, the minimum number of RB sets is 1, and multiple candidate RB sets can include:
[0069] 1. Group 1: RB set #0;
[0070] 2. Group 2: RB Set #1;
[0071] 3. Group 3: RB Set #2;
[0072] 4. Group 4: RB Group #3.
[0073] When the number of subchannels is greater than 5 and less than or equal to 10, that is, 5 <L subCH When ≤10, the minimum number of RB sets is 2, and multiple candidate RB sets can include the following:
[0074] 1. Group 1: RB Set #0 and RB Set #1;
[0075] 2. Group 2: RB Set #1 and RB Set #2; or
[0076] 3. Group 3: RB Group #2 and RB Group #3.
[0077] When the number of subchannels is greater than 10 and less than or equal to 15, that is, 10 <L subCH When ≤15, the minimum number of RB sets is 3, and multiple candidate RB sets can include the following:
[0078] 1. Group 1: RB Set #0, RB Set #1 and RB Set #2;
[0079] 2. Group 2: RB Set #1, RB Set #2 and RB Set #3.
[0080] When the number of subchannels is greater than 15 and less than or equal to 20, that is, 15 <L subCH When ≤20, the minimum number of RB sets is 4, and multiple candidate RB sets can include one of the following groups:
[0081] 1. Group 1: RB Set #0, RB Set #1, RB Set #2 and RB Set #3.
[0082] Other numbers of RB sets may be configured, for example, each RB set may include other numbers of subchannels, such as 2 subchannels, 3 subchannels, etc., and there may be other numbers of RB sets, such as 5 RB sets, 6 RB sets, etc. L1 may determine the number of RB sets in a similar manner.
[0083] Operation 3:
[0084] After determining multiple groups of candidate RB sets (which may include one or more RB sets), for each group of candidate RB sets, L1 may perform resource exclusion, for example, excluding resources reserved by other SL-UEs having RSRP values above the RSRP threshold. After resource exclusion, L1 may obtain the number of candidate single-slot resources.
[0085] In the present disclosure, the RSRP threshold used to select the number of candidate single-slot resources does not increase based on the number of candidate single-slot resources.
[0086] Operation 4:
[0087] Based on the number of candidate single-slot resources, L1 may determine the number of candidate multi-slot resources, such as N multi-slot resources.
[0088] Operation 5:
[0089] L1 may determine candidate multi-slot resources to be reported to higher layers. The number of consecutive single-slot resources within the multi-slot resources (denoted as Lslots for simplicity) may be indicated by a higher layer. In some other embodiments, the number of consecutive single-slot resources may be determined by the UE implementation. In some other embodiments, the number of consecutive single-slot resources may be determined by the limitation of the maximum COT, that is, the number of consecutive single-slot resources may not exceed the maximum COT. In some other embodiments, the number of consecutive single-slot resources may be determined by the remaining number of TB transmissions.
[0090] A SL UE in Mode 2 may have multiple TBs to transmit. Resources for some TBs may have already been selected, and the UE is selecting a set of multi-slot resources for a TB (referred to as TB1 for clarity). Depending on whether the selected resources for another TB (referred to as TB2 for clarity) are considered during the resource selection process for TB1, the following situations exist:
[0091] Case 1:
[0092] In case 1, the selected resource for TB2 is not considered during the resource selection process for TB1, and the candidate multi-slot resources may be selected based on a set of candidate RB sets associated with each candidate single-slot resource. More specifically, among the candidate multi-slot resources, there may be several consecutive single-slot resources (i.e., L in the time domain). slots continuous single time slot resources), and L slots The consecutive single-slot resources are in the same set of candidate RBs.
[0093] Figure 3 A method for resource selection according to some embodiments of the present disclosure is described.
[0094] exist Figure 3In the example, there are four RB sets, namely RB set #0, RB set #1, RB set #2 and RB set #3, and there are six time slots, namely time slot #0, time slot #1, time slot #2, time slot #3, time slot #4 and time slot #5. According to the number of subchannels indicated by the higher layer, three RB sets are required. Therefore, there may be two groups of candidate RB sets, namely group 1: RB set #0, RB set #1 and RB set #2; and group 2: RB set #1, RB set #2 and RB set #3. It is also determined that the number of consecutive single-slot resources is two.
[0095] There are four candidate single-slot resources, which are located in slot #1, slot #2, slot #3 and slot #5. The candidate single-slot resource in slot #1 and the candidate single-slot resource in slot #2 are continuous in the time domain, but they are not in the same set of candidate RBs, so the multi-slot resource including the candidate single-slot resource in slot #1 and the candidate single-slot resource in slot #2 is not a candidate multi-slot resource. The candidate single-slot resource in slot #3 and the candidate single-slot resource in slot #5 are in the same set of candidate RBs, but they are not continuous in the time domain, so the multi-slot resource including the candidate single-slot resource in slot #3 and the candidate single-slot resource in slot #5 is not a candidate multi-slot resource either. The candidate single-slot resource in slot #2 and the candidate single-slot resource in slot #3 are in the same set of candidate RBs, and they are continuous in the time domain, so the multi-slot resource including the candidate single-slot resource in slot #2 and the candidate single-slot resource in slot #3 is a candidate multi-slot resource.
[0096] Case 2
[0097] In case 2, selected resources for another TB (eg, TB2) are considered during the resource selection process for the current TB (eg, TB1).
[0098] During the resource selection process for TB1 , there is a condition to consider the selected resources for TB2 , ie, the selected resources for TB2 may be located in the resource selection window for TB1 .
[0099] Figure 4 Consideration of conditions for selected resources for another TB during a resource selection process for a current TB according to some embodiments of the present disclosure is described.
[0100] The UE may have two TBs (e.g., TB1 and TB2) transmitted with different resource selection triggering instances. Resource selection for TB1 is triggered at time n1 and resource selection for TB2 is triggered at time n2. It is assumed that the UE has already selected resources for TB2 when performing the resource selection process for TB1. In the case where the selected resources for TB2 are located in the resource selection window of TB1, the UE may consider the selected resources for TB2 to ensure that multiple consecutive time slots in the time domain include resources for both TB2 and TB1. In other words, in case 2, the UE may select a candidate multi-slot resource that includes two resources for both TB2 and TB1 in the time domain. The number of consecutive single-slot resources (i.e., L slots ) may be greater than the number of time slots of resources used for TB2.
[0101] Hereinafter, in case 2, the UE may have selected resources for TB2, and the selected resources for TB2 may be considered for the resource selection process for TB1. It should be noted that although the selected resources for one TB (ie, TB2) are described, the selected resources for more TBs may also be applied.
[0102] When resource selection is triggered for TB1, higher layers may indicate that the selected resources for TB2 are within the selection window of TB1 to the physical layer.
[0103] In case 2, whether the multi-slot resource being evaluated can be considered as a candidate multi-slot resource may depend on: 1): the position of the selected resources for TB2 in the time domain, and 2): the relationship between a set of RBs for transmission of TB1 (i.e., a set of RBs for multi-slot resources to be selected) and a set of RBs for transmission of TB2 (i.e., a set of RBs that have been selected for resources).
[0104] In the time domain, in the case where the selected resource for TB2 is a multi-slot resource for MCSt, the length of the selected multi-slot resource for TB2 should not be greater than the number of consecutive single-slot resources (i.e., L in the time domain). slots The selected multi-slot resource for TB2 should be completely located in the multi-slot resource evaluated in the time domain. In other words, the start time of the candidate multi-slot resource is earlier than or equal to the start time of the selected resource for TB2, and the end time of the candidate multi-slot resource is later than or equal to the end time of the selected resource for TB2.
[0105] Figure 5A A method for resource selection according to some embodiments of the present disclosure is described.
[0106] exist Figure 5AIn FIG, the multi-slot resource to be evaluated includes 6 time slots, namely, time slot #0, time slot #1, time slot #2, time slot #3, time slot #4 and time slot #5. The selected resource for TB2 is located at time slot #2 and time slot #3, the start time of the multi-slot resource is located at time slot #0, which is earlier than the start time of the selected resource for TB2 (i.e., time slot #2), and the end time of the candidate multi-slot resource (i.e., time slot #5) is later than the end time of the selected resource for TB2 (i.e., time slot #3). Therefore, the multi-slot resource can be regarded as a candidate multi-slot resource.
[0107] Figure 5B A method for resource selection according to some embodiments of the present disclosure is described.
[0108] exist Figure 5B In FIG, the multi-slot resource being evaluated includes 6 time slots, i.e., time slot #0 to time slot #5. The selected resource for TB2 is located at time slot #4 to time slot #7, the start time of the multi-slot resource is located at time slot #0, which is earlier than the start time of the selected resource for TB2 (i.e., time slot #4), and the end time of the candidate multi-slot resource (i.e., time slot #5) is earlier than the end time of the selected resource for TB2 (i.e., time slot #7). Therefore, the multi-slot resource may not be considered as a candidate multi-slot resource.
[0109] In the frequency domain, whether the multi-slot resource being evaluated can be considered as a candidate multi-slot resource may depend on the relationship of a set of RB sets.
[0110] Assuming that a set of RB sets used for transmission of TB1 (i.e., a set of RB sets for multi-slot resources to be selected) is called group A, and a set of RB sets used for transmission of TB2 (i.e., a set of RB sets selected for resources) is called group B, based on the relationship between the two groups, several scenarios are presented as follows: In some embodiments, the selected resources for TB2 may be single-slot resources or multi-slot resources.
[0111] Scenario 1: Group A (for TB1) and Group B (for TB2) are the same RB set.
[0112] The evaluated multi-slot resource may be considered as a candidate multi-slot resource if the following conditions are met:
[0113] All candidate single-slot resources for TB1 and the selected resources for TB2 are contiguous in the time domain.
[0114] For example, Figure 5A As shown in FIG. 1 , group A and group B are the same set of RBs, and the candidate single-slot resources for TB1, i.e., the candidate single-slot resources in slot #0, slot #1, slot #4, and slot #5, and the selected resources in slot #2 and slot #3 are continuous in the time domain. Therefore, Figure 5AThe multi-slot resources in can be considered as candidate multi-slot resources.
[0115] Scenario 2: Group A (for TB1) and Group B (for TB2) are different groups of RB sets, and Group B includes all RB sets in Group A.
[0116] The evaluated multi-slot resource may be considered as a candidate multi-slot resource if the following two conditions are met:
[0117] 1. Within the multi-slot resources being evaluated, the selected resource for TB2 is positioned earlier in the time domain than the candidate single-slot resource for TB1, and
[0118] 2. Within the multi-slot resources being evaluated, all candidate single-slot resources for TB1 and the selected resources for TB2 are contiguous in the time domain.
[0119] With the above-mentioned condition 1, the UE may perform the LBT process on one set of RB sets (group B) having more RB sets than another set (group A). If condition 1 is not satisfied, for example, the selected resource for TB2 is located later than the candidate single-slot resource for TB1 in the time domain, the UE may perform the LBT process on the RB set of group A (for TB1), which includes fewer RB sets than group B (for TB2). Since the resources are multi-slot resources, the UE may not perform the LBT process after the transmission of TB1 and before the transmission of TB2. That is, the UE may perform the LBT process only on the RB set for the transmission of TB1, and the LBT process on some RB sets for the transmission of TB2 may not be successful, and therefore, the transmission of TB2 may fail.
[0120] Fig. 6A A method for resource selection according to some embodiments of the present disclosure is described.
[0121] exist Fig. 6A In FIG. 1 , the multi-slot resources include 6 time slots, namely, time slot #0, time slot #1, time slot #2, time slot #3, time slot #4, and time slot #5. The selected resources for TB2 occupy a set of RB sets including RB set #0 and RB set #1 in the frequency domain, and occupy time slot #0 and time slot #1 in the time domain. The candidate single-slot resources for TB1 occupy a set of RB sets including RB set #0 in the frequency domain, and occupy time slots #2 to #5 in the time domain. As can be seen, RB set #0 is included in the set of RB sets occupied by the selected resources for TB2.
[0122] In the multi-slot resources, the selected resources for TB2 occupy slots #0 and #1, and the candidate single-slot resources for TB1 occupy slots #2 to #5, which, as can be seen, satisfies the above two conditions. Fig. 6AThe multi-slot resources in can be considered as candidate multi-slot resources.
[0123] In this way, before transmission of TB2, the UE may perform the LBT process on both RB set #0 and RB set #1. Since transmission of TB1 and TB2 are continuous, the UE may not perform the LBT process after transmission of TB2 and before transmission of TB1.
[0124] In the case where the resource selected for TB2 is located later in the time domain than the candidate single-slot resource within the multi-slot resource evaluated for TB1 among the candidate multi-slot resources, the UE may perform the LBT process on RB set #0 before the transmission of TB1. Since the transmission of TB1 and TB2 is continuous, the UE may not perform the LBT process after the transmission of TB1 and before the transmission of TB2. However, it is unclear whether RB set #1 is occupied by other devices, which may cause the transmission of TB2 to fail. In this case, the multi-slot resource may not be considered as a candidate multi-slot resource.
[0125] Scenario 3: Group A (for TB1) and Group B (for TB2) are different groups of RB sets, and Group A includes all RB sets in Group B.
[0126] The evaluated multi-slot resource may be considered as a candidate multi-slot resource if the following two conditions are met:
[0127] 1. Within the multi-slot resources being evaluated, the candidate single-slot resource for TB1 is located earlier in the time domain than the selected resource for TB2, and
[0128] 2. Within the multi-slot resources being evaluated, all candidate single-slot resources for TB1 and the selected resources for TB2 are contiguous in the time domain.
[0129] By virtue of the above-mentioned condition 1, the UE may perform the LBT process on one set of RB sets (group A) having more RB sets than another set (group B). If condition 1 is not satisfied, for example, the selected resource for TB1 is located later than the candidate single-slot resource for TB2 in the time domain, the UE may perform the LBT process on the RB set of group B (for TB2), which includes fewer RB sets than group A (for TB1). Since the resource is a multi-slot resource, the UE may not perform the LBT process after the transmission of TB2 and before the transmission of TB1. That is, the UE may perform the LBT process only on the RB set used for the transmission of TB2, and the LBT process on some RB sets used for the transmission of TB1 may not be successful, and therefore, the transmission of TB1 may fail.
[0130] Figure 6B A method for resource selection according to some embodiments of the present disclosure is described.
[0131] exist Figure 6B In FIG. 1 , the multi-slot resources include 6 time slots, namely, time slot #0, time slot #1, time slot #2, time slot #3, time slot #4, and time slot #5. The selected resources for TB2 occupy a set of RB sets including RB set #0 in the frequency domain, and occupy time slot #4 and time slot #5 in the time domain. The candidate single-slot resources for TB1 occupy a set of RB sets including RB set #0 and RB set #1, and occupy time slot #0 to time slot #3. As can be seen, RB set #0 is included in a set of RB sets occupied by the selected resources for TB1.
[0132] In the multi-slot resources, the selected resources for TB2 occupy slots #4 and #5, and the candidate single-slot resources for TB1 occupy slots #0 to #3, which, as can be seen, satisfies both of the above two conditions. Figure 6B The multi-slot resources evaluated in can be regarded as candidate multi-slot resources.
[0133] In this way, before transmission of TB1, the UE may perform the LBT process on both RB set #0 and RB set #1. Since transmission of TB1 and TB2 are continuous, the UE may not perform the LBT process after transmission of TB1 and before transmission of TB2.
[0134] In the case where the resource selected for TB2 is located in the time domain as a candidate single-slot resource within the multi-slot resource evaluated for TB1 in the candidate multi-slot resource, the UE may perform the LBT process on RB set #0 before the transmission of TB2. Since the transmissions of TB1 and TB2 are continuous, the UE may not perform the LBT process after the transmission of TB2 and before the transmission of TB1. However, it is unclear whether RB set #1 is occupied by other devices, which may cause the transmission of TB1 to fail. In this case, the multi-slot resource may not be considered as a candidate multi-slot resource.
[0135] Based on the above, among several candidate multi-slot resources, the UE may select a candidate multi-slot resource set for the first TB alone (Case 1); or select a candidate multi-slot resource set for the first TB based on the selected resources for the second TB (Case 2).
[0136] In some embodiments, L1 may report candidate multi-slot resource sets, where the candidate multi-slot resources consist of sets of single-slot resources that are contiguous in time.
[0137] In some cases, the selected candidate multi-slot resource set may not be sufficient to avoid resource conflicts. For the MCSt configuration, a factor denoted as: Y may be introduced to ensure that there are sufficient multi-slot resources to avoid resource conflicts. In some embodiments, the value of Y may be 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, etc.
[0138] Based on the above two cases in operation 5 above, there can be different numbers of multi-slot resources, and the present disclosure proposes the following several options:
[0139] Option A: At least one of case 1 or case 2
[0140] Based on case 1: Based on the above case 1, L1 can select a first number of candidate multi-slot resources (which can be represented as M1) from several multi-slot resources (for example, N multi-slot resources). That is, the first number of candidate multi-slot resources is selected for the transmission of the current TB (i.e., TB1). When the first number of candidate multi-slot resources is not less than the number of multi-slot resources multiplied by a factor, that is, M1≥N×Y, it is considered that there are sufficient multi-slot resources, and the RSRP threshold is maintained. Otherwise, that is, M1<N×Y, it is considered that there are not enough multi-slot resources, and the RSRP threshold is increased.
[0141] Based on case 2: Based on the above case 2, L1 can select a second number of candidate multi-slot resources (which can be represented as M2) from several multi-slot resources (for example, N multi-slot resources). That is, the second number of candidate multi-slot resources is selected for the transmission of the current TB (i.e., TB1) and the transmission of another TB (i.e., TB2) with the selected resources. When the second number of candidate multi-slot resources is not less than the number of multi-slot resources multiplied by a factor, that is, M2≥N×Y, it is considered that there are sufficient multi-slot resources, and the RSRP threshold is maintained. Otherwise, that is, M2<N×Y, it is considered that there are not enough multi-slot resources, and the RSRP threshold is increased.
[0142] Based on both case 1 and case 2: Based on the above case 1 and case 2, L1 can select a third number of candidate multi-slot resources (which can be represented as M1’) from several multi-slot resources (for example, N multi-slot resources). That is, L1 can determine whether the multi-slot resources to be evaluated are regarded as candidate multi-slot resources based on both case 1 and case 2. The multi-slot resources to be evaluated can be candidate multi-slot resources if they are regarded as candidate multi-slot resources based on case 1 or they are regarded as candidate multi-slot resources based on case 2. The multi-slot resources to be evaluated can be non-candidate multi-slot resources if they are not regarded as candidate multi-slot resources based on case 1 and they are not regarded as candidate multi-slot resources based on case 2.
[0143] When the third number of candidate multi-slot resources is not less than the number of multi-slot resources multiplied by a factor, that is, M1’≥N×Y, it is considered that there are sufficient multi-slot resources, and the RSRP threshold is maintained. Otherwise, that is, M1’<N×Y, it is considered that there are not enough multi-slot resources, and the RSRP threshold is increased.
[0144] Option B: Case 1 takes precedence over case 2
[0145] In this option, based on the above Case 1, a UE (e.g., L1) may select a first number of candidate multi-slot resources (which may be denoted as M1) from a number of multi-slot resources (e.g., N multi-slot resources). When the first number of candidate multi-slot resources is not less than the number of multi-slot resources multiplied by a factor, i.e., M1≥N×Y, it is considered that there are sufficient multi-slot resources, and the RSRP threshold is maintained. Otherwise, i.e., M1<N×Y, it is considered that there are not sufficient multi-slot resources; the UE may select a second number of candidate multi-slot resources (which may be denoted as M3) from the remaining number of multi-slot resources (e.g., N - M1 multi-slot resources). When the sum of the first number and the second number is not less than the number of multi-slot resources multiplied by the factor, i.e., M1+M3≥N×Y, it is considered that there are sufficient multi-slot resources, and the RSRP threshold is maintained. Otherwise, i.e., M1+M3<N×Y, it is considered that there are sufficient multi-slot resources, and the RSRP threshold is maintained.
[0146] Option C: Case 2 takes precedence over Case 1
[0147] In this option, based on the above Case 2, a UE (e.g., L1) may select a second number of candidate multi-slot resources (which may be denoted as M2) from a number of multi-slot resources (e.g., N multi-slot resources). When the second number of candidate multi-slot resources is not less than the number of multi-slot resources multiplied by a factor, i.e., M2≥N×Y, it is considered that there are sufficient multi-slot resources, and the RSRP threshold is maintained. Otherwise, i.e., M2<N×Y, it is considered that there are not sufficient multi-slot resources; the UE may select a first number of candidate multi-slot resources (which may be denoted as M4) from the remaining number of multi-slot resources (e.g., N - M2 multi-slot resources). When the sum of the first number and the second number is not less than the number of multi-slot resources multiplied by the factor, i.e., M2+M4≥N×Y, it is considered that there are sufficient multi-slot resources, and the RSRP threshold is maintained. Otherwise, i.e., M2+M4<N×Y, it is considered that there are sufficient multi-slot resources, and the RSRP threshold is maintained.
[0148] For all the above options, after the RSRP threshold is increased, the UE may repeat the resource selection process; specifically, the UE may select candidate single-slot resources based on the increased RSRP threshold, select a number of multi-slot resources, and select a set of candidate multi-slot resources based on the above Case 1 or Case 2.
[0149] Figure 7 Describe a method performed by a UE for resource selection according to some embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0150] In operation 701, L1 (e.g., a physical layer) may receive a parameter set associated with resource selection for a first TB from a higher layer (e.g., a MAC layer). In operation 702, L1 may select a candidate multi-slot resource set for the first TB, wherein the candidate multi-slot resource in the candidate multi-slot resource set is selected based on a set of candidate RB sets associated with each candidate single-slot resource in the candidate multi-slot resource, or based on the selected resource for the second TB. In operation 703, L1 may report the candidate multi-slot resource set to a higher layer.
[0151] In some embodiments, the parameter set includes at least one of: the number of subchannels used for multi-continuous time slot transmission (MCSt); the number of consecutive time slots used for MCSt. For example, a higher layer may indicate the number of subchannels to the physical layer, such as L subCH , and can also indicate to the physical layer the number of consecutive single-slot resources within the multi-slot resource, for example, L slots .
[0152] In some embodiments, the parameter set further includes: the selected resources for the second TB, wherein the selected resources for the second TB are associated with a resource selection window for the first TB. For example, in the above case 2, a higher layer may indicate the selected resources for the second TB to the physical layer.
[0153] In some embodiments, the first layer is further configured to: determine at least one set of candidate RB sets based on the number of subchannels, wherein each set of candidate RB sets includes a minimum number of RB sets. In some embodiments, when the minimum number of RB sets is more than one, the RB sets in each set of candidate RB sets are conservative in the frequency domain.
[0154] In some embodiments, the candidate multi-slot resources include several consecutive candidate single-slot resources, and each candidate single-slot resource is in the same set of candidate RB sets. For example, each candidate single-slot resource may be in a set including RB set #0 and RB set #1.
[0155] In some embodiments, when the candidate multi-slot resource is selected based on the selected resource for the second TB, the start time of the candidate multi-slot resource is earlier than or equal to the start time of the selected resource for the second TB, and the end time of the candidate multi-slot resource is later than or equal to the end time of the selected resource for the second TB. Fig. 6A , the start time of the candidate multi-slot resource is equal to the start time of the selected resource for the second TB, and the end time of the candidate multi-slot resource is later than the end time of the selected resource for the second TB.
[0156] In some embodiments, when the candidate multi-slot resources are selected based on the selected resources for the second TB, the candidate multi-slot resources include candidate single-slot resources for the first TB and the selected resources for the second TB, and all candidate single-slot resources for the first TB and the selected resources for the second TB are continuous in the time domain. Fig. 6A As shown in FIG. 1 , the candidate multi-slot resources include candidate single-slot resources for the first TB and selected resources for the second TB, and all candidate single-slot resources for the first TB (in slot #2 to slot #5) and the selected resources for the second TB (in slot #0 and slot #1) are continuous in the time domain.
[0157] In some embodiments, the candidate single-slot resources for the first TB and the selected resources for the second TB are in the same set of RBs. Figure 5A As shown in FIG. 4 , the candidate single-slot resources for the first TB and the selected resources for the second TB are in the same RB set.
[0158] In some embodiments, in the case where a set of RB sets of the selected resources for the second TB includes all RB sets in a set of RB sets of candidate single-slot resources for the first TB, the selected resources for the second TB are positioned earlier in the time domain than the resources for the first TB. Fig. 6A , the selected resources for TB2 include all RB sets in a set of RB sets of candidate single-slot resources for TB1, and the selected resources for TB2 are positioned earlier than the resources for TB1 in the time domain.
[0159] In some embodiments, when a set of RB sets of candidate single-slot resources for the first TB includes all RB sets in a set of RB sets of the selected resources for the second TB, the selected resources for the second TB are later than the resources for the first TB in the time domain. Figure 6B , a set of RB sets of candidate single-slot resources for TB1 includes all RB sets in a set of RB sets of selected resources for TB2, the selected resources for TB1 being located earlier than the resources for TB2 in the time domain.
[0160] In some embodiments, the RSRP threshold for resource selection is increased in the event that the total number of candidate multi-slot resources is less than the total number of multi-slot resources multiplied by a factor.
[0161] In some embodiments, the total number of candidate multi-slot resources refers to a first total number of candidate multi-slot resources determined based on the set of candidate RB sets associated with each candidate single-slot resource in each candidate multi-slot resource, or a second total number of candidate multi-slot resources determined based on the selected resources for the second TB, or the sum of the first total number and the second total number.
[0162] In some embodiments, the RSRP threshold is increased when the first total is less than the total number of multi-slot resources multiplied by a factor, or when the second total is less than the total number of multi-slot resources multiplied by a factor. For example, the above solution described in Option A.
[0163] In some embodiments, in the case where the first total number is less than the total number of multi-slot resources multiplied by a factor, the first layer is further configured to select the candidate multi-slot resources based on the selected resources for the second TB to obtain the second total number of candidate multi-slot resources from the remaining multi-slot resources; and in the case where the sum of the first total number and the second total number is less than the total number of multi-slot resources multiplied by a factor, the RSRP threshold is increased. For example, the above solution described in Option B.
[0164] In some embodiments, in the case where the second total number is less than the total number of multi-slot resources multiplied by a factor, the first layer is further configured to select the candidate multi-slot resources based on the set of candidate RB sets associated with each candidate single-slot resource in the candidate multi-slot resources to obtain the first total number of candidate multi-slot resources from the remaining multi-slot resources; or in the case where the sum of the first total number and the second total number is less than the total number of multi-slot resources multiplied by a factor, the RSRP threshold is increased. For example, the above solution described in Option C.
