More particularly, the detergent composition comprises an anionic surfactant containing less than 40% by weight of a hydroxyethyl sulfonate, and an amphoteric surfactant, amphoteric surfactant, or both, wherein at least 60% by weight of the amphoteric and amphoteric surfactants used are each independently free of amide alkyl bridges. The detergent compositions of the present invention are surprisingly stable and suitable for formulation substantially free of at least one of sulfates, parabens, hydantoin, isothiazolinones, dioxanes, and silicone oils. The compositions also unexpectedly provide excellent foaming and sensory properties, wherein the total surfactants in the detergent composition are at least 80% by weight of an amphoteric surfactant, amphoteric surfactant, or both, and the anionic surfactant contains less than 40% by weight of a hydroxyethyl sulfonate. Background Technology

[0002] Washing compositions are commonly used to cleanse the skin and reduce shine associated with sebum produced by specialized epithelial cells called sebaceous gland cells. They are also used to minimize bacteria on the hands and face, making washing considered one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs and bacteria. In fact, experts believe that regular washing throughout the day can reduce the number of consumers catching a cold by about 50%. In addition to the skin, washing compositions are routinely used on the scalp and hair, and also for cleaning household items such as countertops, windows, and clothes.

[0003] Consumers prefer gentler compositions (especially for skin and hair), and they also require compositions that are more environmentally friendly. In particular, there is a need for compositions prepared using fewer ingredients to simplify production and thus achieve more environmentally friendly manufacturing processes.

[0004] There is a growing interest in preparing detergent compositions that are both consumer-friendly and environmentally friendly. Therefore, this invention relates to layered detergent compositions having reduced amounts or no palm kernel oil-derived layered structuring agents. More specifically, the detergent composition comprises an anionic surfactant and an amphoteric surfactant, zwitterionic surfactant, or both, containing less than 40% by weight of hydroxyethyl sulfonate, wherein at least 60% by weight of the amphoteric and zwitterionic surfactants used are each independently free of (do not contain) amide alkyl bridges. The detergent compositions of the present invention are surprisingly stable and suitable for formulation substantially free of at least one of sulfates, parabens, hydantoin, isothiazolinones, dioxanes, and silicone oils. The compositions also unexpectedly provide excellent foaming and sensory properties, wherein the total surfactant in the detergent composition is at least 80% by weight of an amphoteric surfactant, zwitterionic surfactant, or both, and the anionic surfactant comprises less than 40% by weight of hydroxyethyl sulfonate.

[0005] Additional Information Attempts to prepare detergent compositions have been disclosed. Layered compositions and aerosol barrier distribution systems are described in International Application No. WO / 03017968A2.

[0006] Other attempts to prepare detergent compositions have been described. In U.S. Patent Application Publication No. US2016 / 0186095, detergent compositions comprising amine oxides, alkylbenzene sulfonates, alkyl ether sulfates, and fatty alcohol ethoxylates are described.

[0007] Other attempts to prepare washing compositions are also described. In European Patent No. EP 3971275B1, a liquid hand-washing dishwashing composition is described, which has at least 50% by weight of an anionic surfactant as an alkyl sulfate and a co-surfactant including betaine or betaine and amine oxide, as well as polypropylene glycol.

[0008] Other attempts to prepare detergent compositions have even been described. U.S. Patent No. 5,807,816 describes a light-duty cleaning composition containing alkyl sulfates, alkyl ether sulfates, betaine, amine oxides, or mixtures thereof, and alkyl polyglucosides.

[0009] Other attempts to prepare detergent compositions have been disclosed. U.S. Patent No. 7,659,235 describes a cleaning composition comprising a fatty acyl hydroxyethyl sulfonate and a liquid crystal inducer.

[0010] No additional information is provided to describe the layered detergent composition as claimed herein, which has no or reduced amounts of hydroxyethyl sulfonate and no or reduced amounts of palm kernel oil-derived layered structuring agent. Summary of the Invention

[0014] All other aspects of the invention will become more apparent from the following description and examples.

[0015] As used herein, skin refers to the skin on the arms (including the armpits), face, back, feet, neck, chest, hands, legs, buttocks, and scalp (including hair). Stability means that after preparation and storage at 45°C for at least one month, preferably at least two months, the skin maintains a viscosity of at least 30,000 mPa⁻², preferably at least 35,000 mPa⁻², most preferably 35,000–345,000 mPa⁻² (or 40,000–240,000 mPa⁻² or 43,000–138,000 mPa⁻² or 44,000–75,000 mPa⁻²), wherein the viscosity is measured at 25°C using a Discovery HR-2 rheometer with a blasting plate having a 1000-micron gap and a viscosity of 0.23 s⁻¹. -1 Shear rate measurement.

[0016] A layered structuring agent derived from palm kernel oil refers to a component having a fatty portion, comprising at least 75-100% by weight (or 80-100% by weight, 90-100% by weight, 95-100% by weight, or 100% by weight) of C8-C from palm kernel oil. 14 The hydrophobic chain of the saturated hydrocarbon includes components such as lauric acid and myristic acid or their alcohol or amide derivatives. As used herein, lamellar means a layer having a surfactant arrangement in which polar head groups are aligned with water to shield fatty acid acyl chains from water, such that more than 85% (or 90 to 100% or 100%) of the total surfactant in the composition is arranged as a micelle or layer, resulting in a translucent or opaque composition, wherein the surfactant arrangement is induced by the surfactant itself, and as selected in this invention, resulting in a creamy (e.g., velvety) washing composition. As used herein, amide alkyl bridge means a group represented as -(C=O)-N(R)-Z-, where R is as previously defined, and Z is a straight-chain, branched, or cyclic alkyl group, but typically straight-chain and C... 1-8 Alkyl groups, and more typically C10. 1-4 Or C 1-3The alkyl group, and most commonly propyl, connects the polar head and hydrophobic tail of the surfactant. Furthermore, at least 60% by weight of both the amphoteric and zwitterionic surfactants used are independently free of amide alkyl bridges, preferably at least 65% by weight, and most preferably at least 70% by weight (or 77.5 to 96% by weight, 78 to 86.5% by weight, 77 to 94% by weight, 79.5 to 100% by weight, 95 to 100% by weight, 97 to 100% by weight, or 100% by weight) are independently free of such bridges.

[0017] In this invention, it has been unexpectedly discovered that anionic surfactants and amphoteric surfactants and / or amphoteric surfactants (containing at least 60% by weight of hydroxyethyl sulfonate free of amide alkyl bridges) can be used to induce or prepare stable layered detergent compositions with reduced or even no palm kernel oil-derived structuring agents.
