AI Technical Summary
Existing wristwatches with stop functions and zero setting devices suffer from mechanical friction issues between the cam of the control lever and the zeroing lever, affecting precision and operating comfort.
A microsphere bearing is integrated at the contact point between the zeroing lever and the switching cam of the control lever to minimize friction, using a ball bearing design that allows smooth operation.
The implementation of a microsphere bearing reduces mechanical friction, enhancing precision and improving the operating comfort of the stop function.

Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a mechanical wristwatch with a stop function.
[0002] A wristwatch with a stop function and a zero-setting device by means of a control lever and switching cam is known, wherein the control lever and switching cam are mounted so as to be rotatable relative to one another or rigidly on a common bushing and the switching cam has a limiting pin against which the zero-setting lever is held at a fixed angle to the switching cam by means of a spring when the zero-setting lever pusher is not actuated.
[0003] The disadvantage is that the zero setting lever causes a certain sliding friction when it comes into contact with the cam of the control lever and when the zero setting lever pusher is actuated, which in turn has a detrimental effect on the precision and ease of use of the stop function (DE 197 05 121 C2).
[0004] A wristwatch with a stopwatch function and a zero-resetting device using a complex mechanism is also known. Another disadvantage is that its precision and ease of use are in need of improvement (US 2023 / 0 350 348 A1).
[0005] The object of the invention is to further improve the precision and ease of use of such a wristwatch by minimizing the mechanical friction between the cam of the control lever and the zero-setting lever.
[0006] According to the invention, the problem is solved as stated in the patent claim. For this purpose, a micro ball bearing 4 is arranged at the free end of a zero-setting lever 2, at the contact point thereof with a switching cam of a control lever 1, such that its inner ring is attached to the zero-setting lever 2, and its outer ring contacts the switching cam of the control lever 1 upon actuation of a zero-setting lever pushbutton 3.
[0007] The advantage of this is that the stop mechanism of such a wristwatch is more precise in its function and smoother in its operation and actuation thanks to the inventive design.
[0008] The invention is explained below using an embodiment.
[0009] The accompanying drawing shows a schematic view of the design and arrangement of the control lever with switching cam, the zero-setting lever with ball bearing, and the zero-setting lever pusher in a top view of the movement. Located outside the watch case is the zero-setting lever pusher 3, whose inner pin extends through the watch case to the zero-setting lever 2. The zero-setting lever 2 is designed as a one-sided lever and its short end is rotatably mounted on the plate of the movement. At the other, longer, free end of the zero-setting lever 2, the micro ball bearing 4 is arranged at the point of contact between the lever and the cam of the control lever 1, such that its inner ring is attached to the zero-setting lever 2, and its outer ring contacts the switching cam of the control lever 1 when the zero-setting lever pusher 3 is actuated.
[0010] In function of the lever mechanism when the ball bearing outer ring comes into contact with the switching cam of the control lever 1, the outer ring of the ball bearing 4 now rolls smoothly and comfortably without having to overcome a certain static friction.
