Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a technique used in the fitness sector and in particular to a dumbbell with a weight release function.

[0002] The most commonly used training device today is the dumbbell. There are many ways to use dumbbells. Some dumbbells are one-piece sets with different weights, as described, for example, in patent M581492, "Intelligent Strength Training System." Some dumbbells have only a single handle (see patent I576135, "Dumbbell Arrangement for Easy Attachment and Storage"), which allows the user to increase or decrease the number of weight stacks at either end of the handle, thus increasing or decreasing the overall weight. Different types of dumbbells allow the user to always select and use the exact weight appropriate for their fitness training.

[0003] With the aforementioned types of dumbbells that allow for interchangeable weight stacks, ease of replacement is paramount for the user. However, with many dumbbell models where weight stacks can be exchanged and selected, adjusting the weight stacks is often cumbersome. To remove them, the entire weight stack assembly must be detached before selecting the number and weight of the stacks to be used. Alternatively, the exchange and adjustment mechanisms may be too complex. Sometimes, the user simply forgets the weight of the stacks they are using. Only when they can no longer lift them do they realize that the stacks are too heavy or that the set weight is too light.Furthermore, on some dumbbells, the weight must be adjusted using the switching mechanism located on the weight stacks (since there is an engagement between the weight stacks, the switching mechanism serves to engage or disengage them). To adjust the weight, the user must replace one weight stack at a time or check the switching mechanism on each stack. This is too cumbersome for the user. Moreover, the switching mechanism is too complex and has many components, which increases repair and maintenance costs.

[0004] DE 20 2023 100 485 U1 discloses an adjustable dumbbell with a base, a handle, and a variety of weight plate assemblies attached to both sides of the handle. The number of weight plate assemblies can be adjusted by rotating the handle.

[0005] WO 2022 / 161509 A1 discloses a barbell with a handle and two weight assemblies, each comprising a plurality of coaxial barbell sections. The handle includes a central tube and two telescopic rods slidably connected to the central tube. A linear drive mechanism on the central tube pushes the two telescopic rods toward or apart to mount a corresponding number of barbell sections via the telescopic rods at both ends of the central tube.

[0006] US 2021 0244994 A1 discloses a strength training device consisting primarily of a support element, a first weight element, and a second weight element. The upper part of the support element is provided with a handle for the user to grip. The first weight element has an upward-projecting screw rod on its upper side for screwing into the underside of the support element. Similarly, the second weight element has a screw rod for screwing into the underside of the first weight element.

[0007] The object of the present invention is to enable the user to quickly and accurately adjust the weight of the weight blocks of a dumbbell and thereby select a suitable weight for use. Even if the weight is unsuitable, the user can quickly readjust it.

[0008] This problem is solved by the doctrine of the independent claim.

[0010] It will be directed to the Fig. Reference is made to sections 1 to 16. The short barbell according to the invention with weight release function comprises the following: a base 1, which includes a frame part 11 and two positioning modules 12 arranged on two sides of the inner wall of the frame part 11, wherein the opposite sides of the two positioning modules 12 are each provided with a projecting locking section 13; several weight block assemblies 2, which allow for weight increases and decreases and are stackable and assemblable, wherein, after stacking and assembly (two main groups of weight blocks), the weight block assemblies 2 can each be assembled with the projecting locking section 13 of the corresponding positioning module 12, wherein each weight block assembly 2 has a mounting section 21 and a combination section 22 on each of two sides.the combination section 22 of a respective weight block arrangement 2 can be assembled with the assembly section 21 of another weight block arrangement 2, the assembly sections 21 of some weight block arrangements 2 can be combined with the corresponding projecting locking sections 13 of the positioning modules 12, a locking chamber 3 is provided inside a respective projecting locking section 13 or a respective combination section 22, a respective locking chamber 3 has an inlet 31 and a side outlet 32 (in the present invention, a respective inlet 31 is shown at the upper end of the respective projecting locking section 13 and the corresponding combination section 22, and a respective side outlet 32 is shown on one side of the respective projecting locking section 13 and the corresponding combination section 22 - however, this does not serve to(to limit the arrangement positions of a respective inlet 31 and a respective side outlet 32) and furthermore, corresponding to the side outlets 32, the mounting sections 21 of the weight block arrangements 2 are each provided with a detent recess 33; several spring-loaded detent arrangements 4, each of which is housed in the locking chamber 3 of the corresponding locking section 13 and the corresponding combination section 22 and each comprises an elastic part 41, a detent piece 42 and a projecting rod 43, wherein one end of each elastic part 41 bears elastically against the inner wall of the corresponding locking chamber 3 and the other end of each elastic part 41 is attached to an end of the corresponding detent piece 42,the other end of each locking piece 42 normally protrudes from the side outlet 32 of the corresponding locking chamber 3 due to the elastic contact of the corresponding elastic part 41 and is engaged in the corresponding locking recess 33, and a respective projecting bar 43 is arranged on one side of the corresponding locking piece 42 and corresponds to the corresponding inlet 31; a control part 5 that can be inserted into any locking chamber 3, wherein, after the control part 5 is inserted into the inlet 31 of any locking chamber 3, the control part 5 is pressed against the projecting bar 43 located in this locking chamber 3, so that the corresponding locking piece 42 is driven by the pressed projecting bar 43 in such a way that it elastically compresses the corresponding elastic part 41,wherein the engagement between this detent piece 42 and the corresponding detent recess 33 is simultaneously released; and a handle arrangement 6 comprising a handle 61 and two drive modules 62, wherein the two drive modules 62 are each combined with the two ends of the handle 61, the side of each drive module 62 corresponding to the corresponding positioning module 12 is recessed to form a connecting section 63, the connecting sections 63 corresponding to the side outlets 32 of the combined combination sections 22 are each provided with a detent gap 64, and each detent piece 42 located in the corresponding combination section 22 is normally engaged in the corresponding detent gap 64.

[0011] Based on the above description of the technology of the present invention, the user simply needs to pull out the control part 5 to adjust the combination between the weight block assemblies 2 during operation. First, the control part 5, which is inserted into the locking chamber 3 of a projecting locking section 13, is pulled out, and the appropriate number of weight block assemblies 2 is selected. Then, the control part 5 is inserted into the locking chamber 3 between the weight block assemblies 2 to be released, with the control part 5 being inserted via the corresponding inlet 31 and continuously moved until it abuts the corresponding projecting rod 43. The abutment of the control part 5 causes this projecting rod 43 to move laterally. The movement of this protruding rod 43 causes the corresponding locking piece 42 to move along with it, while simultaneously one end of this locking piece is pressed against the corresponding elastic part 41 by the movement of this locking piece 42, so that this elastic part is elastically compressed and one end of this locking piece 42 gradually disengages from the engagement with the corresponding locking recess 33. After this locking piece 42 has been completely retracted from this locking recess 33, the user can hold the handle 61 to actuate the weight stack assemblies 2 combined with the drive modules 62 so that they are lifted together and separated from the base 1 for use in a fitness training exercise. The user is enabled to adjust the weight of the weight block assemblies 2 simply by inserting and removing the control element 5, which saves time and effort and makes it easier to assess the currently selected weight based on the position of the control element 5. Unlike conventional techniques, where the weight blocks must be individually adjusted via a switching mechanism, leading to misjudgments, significant time expenditure, excessive labor, and excessive repair and maintenance costs, the present invention allows the user to save both costs and avoid excessive replacement and maintenance expenses.

[0012] Based on the main technical features of the present invention described above, further technical features and the structure of the present invention will be described in more detail. First, the following will be discussed: Fig. Reference is made to sections 2 to 6. To ensure a stable combination between the positioning modules 12 and the corresponding weight block assemblies 2, each positioning module 12 further comprises an outer shell piece 121 and a stop plate 122, wherein each outer shell piece 121 is locked to one side of the corresponding stop plate 122, each projecting locking section 13 is locked to the other side of the corresponding stop plate 122, and an intermediate storage space 123 is provided between each outer shell piece 121 and the corresponding stop plate 122. The use of the intermediate storage space 123 is similar to that of the locking space 3 and allows the user, when using the weight block assemblies 2, to insert the control unit 5 into the intermediate storage space 123 so that the control unit is not lost.Furthermore, each intermediate storage compartment 123 is provided with an access opening 124, with each access opening 124 being located on the same side as the corresponding inlet 31. The control element 5 can be inserted into the corresponding intermediate storage compartment 123 for temporary storage via a respective access opening 124. Each outer shell section 121 is also provided with an engagement recess 125, aligned with the corresponding intermediate storage compartment 123 and the corresponding access opening 124, with a locking rib 126 projecting from two sides of the engagement recess 125. When the control element 5 is inserted into the corresponding intermediate storage compartment 123 via a respective access opening 124, a portion of the control element 5 is exposed within the corresponding engagement recess 125.Corresponding to the locking ribs 126, the control part 5 is provided with the same number of arcuate locking recesses 51. When the control part 5 is inserted into a respective intermediate storage space 123, the arcuate locking recesses 51 engage with and are positioned against the corresponding locking ribs 126 to ensure that the control part 5 can be reliably placed when not in use, preventing it from being lost or falling – see the . Fig. 1 and Fig. 2.

[0013] Continuing the description above, a combination recess 1211 is further recessed in the surface of each outer shell piece 121 on the side facing away from the stop plate 122, so that the weight block assemblies 2 are stably mounted when not in use. In addition, the frame part 11 has two U-shaped frame plates 110, each of which is connected to the combination recess of the corresponding outer shell piece 121, thereby firmly combining the two positioning modules 12 and the frame part 11 to form the base 1, and thus allowing the weight block assemblies 2 and the handle assembly 6 to be positioned when not in use and after use – see [reference]. Fig. 2.

[0014] Next, the combination between the positioning modules 12 and the corresponding weight block arrangements 2 is described. Reference is made to the Fig. Reference is made to sections 3 to 10. The combination between the positioning modules 12 and the corresponding weight block assemblies 2, as well as between the weight block assemblies 2 themselves, is achieved primarily through the use of the aforementioned locking sections 13 and the combination sections 22 in conjunction with the corresponding assembly sections 21. Therefore, the aforementioned locking section 13 of each positioning module 12 and each respective combination section 22 each comprise a first plate 7, a second plate 8, and a third plate 9 stacked on top of each other, wherein all locking spaces 3, inlets 31, and side outlets 32 are spaces or openings formed by stacking the first plates 7, the second plates 8, and the third plates 9.Furthermore, an elongated receiving slot 71 is recessed horizontally (in the left and right directions) in a respective first plate 7, a sliding-locking slot 81 is recessed vertically (above and below) in a respective second plate 8, and a limiting slot 82 (in the same direction as the receiving slot 71) is recessed in the wall on one side of a respective sliding-locking slot 81, wherein one end of a respective elastic part 41 is housed in the corresponding limiting slot 82 and rests against the bottom of the slot, and the other end of a respective elastic part 41 is attached to the corresponding locking element 42. A sliding slot 91 is provided horizontally (in the same direction as the corresponding receiving slot 71 and the corresponding limiting slot 82) in a respective third plate 9. A respective projecting rod 43 is slidable in the corresponding sliding slot 91.The control element 5 is inserted through the inlet 31 of any locking chamber 3 and penetrates deep into the sliding detent slot 81 of the corresponding second plate 8 and rests against the corresponding projecting rod 43, whereby the penetration of the control element 5 presses each projecting rod 43 so that it is displaced along the sliding slot 91 of the corresponding third plate 9, whereby the displacement of each projecting rod 43 moves and compresses the corresponding detent piece 42 in the direction of the corresponding elastic part 41 and simultaneously releases the engagement with the corresponding detent recess 33.In this way, the user can solve the combination between the weight block arrangements 2 among themselves as well as between the weight block arrangements 2 and the corresponding positioning modules 12 and then use the weight suitable for him for training using the weight block arrangements 2.

[0015] Based on the above description, in addition to the aforementioned locking sections 13 of the positioning modules 12 and the combination sections 22 of the weight block assemblies 2, the assembly sections 21 and the connecting sections 63 of the drive modules 62 used together with them are also extremely important. The assembly section 21 of each weight block assembly 2 and the connecting section 63 of each drive module 62 each further comprise a main plate 10, two front side plates 20, and two rear side plates 30, wherein the two rear side plates 30 are each arranged on two sides of one side of the main plate 10. Subsequently, the two front side plates 20 are stacked on top of the rear side plates 30, thereby forming an assembly space 40 between the main plate 10, the front side plates 20, and the rear side plates 30.The combination sections 22 of the weight block assemblies 2 and the projecting locking sections 13 of the positioning modules 12 can be combined with one another in the corresponding mounting spaces 40. The mounting section 21 of each weight block assembly 2 and the detent recess 33 of the connecting section 63 of the corresponding drive module 62 are provided on one side of any front side plate 20 and correspond to the corresponding detent 42. By arranging each main plate 10, the two corresponding front side plates 20, and the two corresponding rear side plates 30, not only is the corresponding mounting space 40 provided for combining the corresponding projecting locking section 13 and the corresponding combination section 22, but it is also ensured that the corresponding detent recess 33 is equipped with the corresponding detent 42.In this way, a secure engagement can be ensured by mutual coordination before the control part 5 is inserted, and the engagement can be safely released after the control part 5 is inserted, in order to enable the user to use the invention.

[0016] Having explained the structural design of the weight block assemblies 2, the features of the control element 5 are described in more detail below. To enable the easy movement of a detent piece 42, the control element 5 further comprises an elongated control section 52 with a central hollow, a strip-shaped body section 53, a positioning section 54, and a drive section 55 with a pointed conical shape, wherein one end of the body section 53 is connected to the control section 52, the other end of the body section 53 to one end of the positioning section 54, and the drive section 55 to the other end of the positioning section 54. The positioning section 54 is also provided with an arcuate recess 541 for insertion into the locking space 3, aligned with a projecting rod 43.After the drive section 55 of the control part 5 has been pressed against a projecting rod 43 to effect a displacement, and the corresponding elastic part 41 has been simultaneously compressed, and when this projecting rod 43 corresponds with the arcuate recess 541, this compressed elastic part 41 expands elastically again and elastically presses this projecting rod 43, so that this projecting rod is engaged in the arcuate recess 541, thus limiting the portion of this locking piece 42 protruding from the corresponding side outlet 32. In this way, the positioning of the control part 5 after insertion can be achieved to prevent the control part 5 from falling down during the use of the weight block assemblies 2 – see the figure. Fig. 3 and 14 to 16.

[0017] Finally, a guide chamfer 551 is provided at the end of the drive section 55 of the control part 5 facing away from the positioning section 54, so that the drive section 55 of the control part 5 can easily push this protruding rod 43 aside. The figures of the present invention show that two sides of one end of the drive section 55 each have a guide chamfer 551. However, this does not mean that both sides must be provided with guide chamfers. It is only necessary that the position of a guide chamfer corresponds to the position of a protruding rod 43. Each protruding rod 43 is cylindrical. After the drive section 55 of the control part 5 has been inserted through the inlet 31 of a respective locking chamber 3, the corresponding protruding rod 43 is pressed by the guide chamfer 551 of the drive section 55 and thereby moved. In this way, each protruding rod 43 can be reliably pressed and moved by inserting the control part 5, so that the corresponding detent piece 42 can be driven in such a way that the engagement between it and the corresponding detent recess 33 is released and thus the user can reliably select the appropriate weight - see the .
