Method for operating a driver assistance device for a motor vehicle, corresponding driver assistance device and computer program product

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for operating a driver assistance device for a motor vehicle, wherein environmental data describing the environment of the motor vehicle are acquired at least temporarily by means of an environment sensing device of the motor vehicle and are used to carry out at least partially autonomous driving operation, and wherein a sensor blindness parameter describing contamination of the environment sensing sensor is determined for an environment sensing sensor of the environment sensing device and, if a threshold value is exceeded by the sensor blindness parameter, the environment sensing sensor is cleaned by means of a cleaning device using a cleaning agent held in a cleaning agent tank.The invention provides that, when the sensor blindness level is at most equal to the threshold value but increasing, a driving parameter directly influencing the autonomous driving operation of the motor vehicle is adjusted depending on the sensor blindness level in order to reduce the cleaning agent required for cleaning the environmental sensing sensor. The invention further relates to a driver assistance system for a motor vehicle and a computer program product.
