Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a seat, in particular a vehicle seat, which has a cushion frame and a height adjuster with which the height of the cushion frame is adjustable relative to a base. State of the art
[0002] Height adjusters for seats, especially vehicle seats, are well known from the state of the art.
[0003] From DE 10 2004 039 247 B3, a height adjuster for a vehicle seat is known, which has a first fitting part and a second fitting part which are in gear connection with each other and form a self-locking eccentric rotary drive and can be driven by an eccentric to carry out a relative rotary movement with superimposed wobbling movement, wherein an internal toothing of the first fitting part meshes with an external toothing of the second fitting part.
[0004] From DE 10 2009 008 576 B4, a further tilt adjuster for a vehicle seat is known, which has a frame belonging to the vehicle seat, a drive belonging to the vehicle seat which is articulated to the frame and can be pivoted about an axis, and a gearbox fitting. Task
[0005] One object of the present invention is to provide an improved seat, in particular a vehicle seat, with a height adjuster configured with a compact design and a smaller number of components. Solution
[0006] The problem is solved by a seat, in particular a vehicle seat, according to claim 1.
[0007] The seat, in particular the vehicle seat, according to the invention comprises at least one upholstered frame with two upholstered frame side sections arranged transversely apart from one another, and a height adjuster with which the height of the upholstered frame is adjustable relative to a base, wherein the height adjuster comprises at least one connecting element pivotably attached to one of the upholstered frame side sections and a tilt adjuster coupled to the connecting element. The tilt adjuster, with which the connecting element is pivotable relative to the base, is arranged between the connecting element and the upholstered frame side section and is attached to the upholstered frame side section and the connecting element.
[0008] By positioning the tilt adjuster between the connector and the upholstered frame side panel, and attaching the tilt adjuster to both the upholstered frame side panel and the connector, a slim and compact design and minimal packaging space can be achieved. The tilt adjuster is attached to both the upholstered frame side panel and the connector, resulting in fewer components, consequently lower costs, and reduced assembly time.
[0009] The tilt adjuster is a fitting device. The use of the tilt adjuster according to the invention is suitable for a low block height. Furthermore, by attaching the tilt adjuster between the upholstery frame side panel and the connecting element, such as a lifting arm, a so-called ABTS (short for: All Belts To Seat - belts integrated into the seat frame) load can be maintained and a sufficient number of metal-to-metal connections can be permitted.
[0010] A common adjustable seat cushion frame features a four-link linkage system with a toothed connecting piece driven by a pinion or with a spindle drive system.
[0011] By using a tilt adjuster that is positioned and attached, and in particular fixed, to both the upholstered frame side panel and the connecting element, the seat can be constructed with a lower degree of complexity. Special designs for the connecting element or the drive connection between the connecting element and the upholstered frame are not required. For example, the manufacture of specific bracket elements, connectors, or arms can be avoided.
[0012] Therefore, the invention can easily be retrofitted to existing seating systems.
[0013] Preferred embodiments of the invention are provided in the dependent claims.
[0014] The tilt adjuster can be welded to an inwardly facing side, in particular an inner surface side, of the upholstery frame side panel and to an outwardly facing side, in particular an outer surface side, of the connecting element.
[0015] The tilt adjuster comprises at least a first fitting part and a second fitting part, wherein the first fitting part is welded to the upholstered frame side part and the second fitting part is welded to the connecting element.
[0016] The first and second fitting parts can perform a relative rotational movement when actuated. Such tilt adjusters are known from seat backrest adjustment devices.
[0017] The height adjuster can comprise at least one drive unit which engages with the tilt adjuster, the drive unit being attached to an outward-facing side of the upholstered frame side panel opposite the tilt adjuster.
[0018] The drive unit can be attached to the upholstered frame side panel by a mounting bracket and a screw connection. Alternatively, the drive unit can be attached to the outside of the upholstered frame side panel by any other suitable connection, such as a weld, rivet, or clamp. When activated, the drive unit can cause the fittings to pivot relative to each other, thereby adjusting the height of the upholstered frame, particularly the seat cushion.
[0019] The drive unit can comprise an electric motor and a gearbox. The motor and gearbox can each be arranged on an outer side, in particular an outward-facing side or an outer surface, of the upholstered frame side panel. The motor can extend parallel to a plane of extension of the upholstered frame side panel. The tilt adjuster and the drive unit can be arranged compactly on the upholstered frame, for example, in a transverse direction of the seat.
[0020] The height adjuster can comprise at least two connecting elements and two tilt adjusters, each of the connecting elements and the tilt adjuster being assigned to one of the upholstery frame side panels, each tilt adjuster being attached between one of the upholstery frame side panels and one of the connecting elements, the upholstery frame side panels being coupled to each other via a cross tube and the tilt adjusters being coupled to each other via a transmission rod.
[0021] The connecting element can be configured as arms, such as rocker arms or toggle levers.
[0022] The transmission rod can be arranged so that it extends inside the transverse tube and defines an axis of rotation for the tilt adjusters. The transverse tube and the transmission rod can be arranged coaxially with each other.
[0023] The upholstered frame side panel and the connecting element can each include an opening, with the openings being axially aligned with each other.
[0024] A drive connection between the drive unit and the tilt adjuster can be arranged in the, in particular through the opening of the upholstered frame side panel. The transmission rod that couples the tilt adjusters can be arranged in the, in particular through the opening of the connecting element.
[0025] The connecting element or elements can each comprise a first end that is pivotally hinged to the upholstered frame side panel and a second end that is pivotally hinged to a base bracket.
[0026] The seat may include a height adjuster and, optionally, a seat tilt adjuster. The seat may have an adjustment mechanism with a series of connecting elements, such as movable rocker arms or pivot levers, that couple a cushion frame to a base, for example, a floor, and / or a longitudinal adjuster. The crossbar is a transverse tube that may be rotatably mounted about a pivot axis, with one end of one or more connecting elements being connected to the crossbar for rotation.
[0027] The height adjuster, in particular the height adjustment mechanism, can have a four-part linkage assembly on both sides of the vehicle seat when viewed in the transverse direction. The four-part linkage assembly can have four coupling links. The four-part linkage assembly can consist of a base, a front connecting element, a rear connecting element, and a cushion frame. The coupling links of the four-part linkage assembly can be connected to each other in pairs by a respective pivot joint.
[0028] A first pivot joint connects the base to the rear connecting element in a pivoting manner. A second pivot joint connects the rear connecting element to the upholstered frame in a pivoting manner. A third pivot joint connects the upholstered frame to the front connecting element in a pivoting manner. A fourth pivot joint connects the front connecting element to the base in a pivoting manner. The pivot joints allow rotational movement around their respective axes parallel to the transverse direction.
[0029] The tilt adjuster can be driven to drive connecting elements located in a front area of the upholstery frame.
[0030] Further applications of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description. [0031] The present invention will be better understood with the detailed description given below and the accompanying drawings, which are merely exemplary and therefore do not limit the present invention; the drawings show: Fig. 1 schematically a vehicle seat with a height adjuster according to the state of the art, Fig. 2 schematically in a perspective view a vehicle seat according to the invention, Fig. 3 schematically in a perspective view the vehicle seat according to the invention, and Fig. 4 schematically in a side view the vehicle seat according to the invention.
[0032] Corresponding parts are marked with the same reference symbols in all figures.
[0033] A schematic in Fig. The prior art vehicle seat 100 shown in Figure 1 is described below with reference to three spatial axes or directions that extend perpendicular to each other. A longitudinal axis x runs horizontally and preferably parallel to a longitudinal direction of a vehicle with a vehicle seat 100 installed in the vehicle. The longitudinal direction corresponds to the usual direction of travel of the vehicle. A transverse axis y is also oriented horizontally in the vehicle and extends perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and runs parallel to a transverse direction of the vehicle. A vertical axis z runs perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and perpendicular to the transverse direction. In the case of a vehicle seat 100 installed in the vehicle, the vertical axis z preferably runs parallel to a vehicle height direction.
[0034] The position and direction terms used, such as front, rear, top, and bottom, refer to the viewing direction of an occupant sitting upright, as in a normal seating position, on vehicle seat 100. The vehicle seat 100 is installed in the vehicle in a suitable position for passenger transport with an upright backrest 104 and is oriented in the direction of travel as usual. However, the vehicle seat 100 can also be installed or moved in a different orientation, for example, perpendicular to the direction of travel. Unless otherwise specified, the vehicle seat 100 is designed to be mirror-symmetrical about a plane perpendicular to the transverse direction y.
[0035] The backrest 104 can be pivotally mounted on an upper upholstery frame 102 of the vehicle seat 100. For this purpose, the vehicle seat 100 can optionally include a fitting 106, such as a tilt adjuster, in particular an adjustment fitting, a swivel fitting, a locking fitting or a wobble fitting.
[0036] The position and direction specifications used, such as radial, axial, and circumferential, refer to a rotation axis 108 of the fitting device 106. Radial means perpendicular to the rotation axis 108; axial means in the direction of or parallel to the rotation axis 108.

The second rail element 116 is attached to a structural element of a vehicle, for example, a vehicle floor.
[0038] For clarity, the first rail element 114 can be referred to as the upper rail 114. This upper rail 114 (also referred to as the running rail or carriage) is assigned to the vehicle seat 100 and is designed to support the vehicle seat 100. The second rail element 116 can also be referred to as the lower rail 116. The lower rail 116 is, for example, fixed to and connected with the floor of a vehicle.
[0039] Furthermore, the vehicle seat 100 includes a height adjuster 120, which is also referred to as the height adjustment kinematics 120. The height adjuster 120 can be arranged between the vehicle seat 100, in particular between the upper upholstery frame 102, and the longitudinal adjustment device 110 and / or a vehicle floor, at least for adjusting the height of the vehicle seat 100.
[0040] Optionally, a tilt adjuster 130, in particular the tilt adjustment kinematics 130, can be provided for adjusting the tilt of the seat 100, for example by pivoting a front section of the upper upholstery frame 102 relative to a rear section. The tilt adjuster 130 can be arranged between the vehicle seat 100, in particular between the upper upholstery frame 102, and the longitudinal adjustment device 110 and / or a vehicle floor.
[0041] The height adjuster 120 can have a four-bar linkage (I, II, III, IV) on each side of the upper upholstery frame 102. The four-bar linkage (I, II, III, IV) can be provided on each side of the seat 100.
[0042] The four-bar linkage (I, II, III, IV) can be used for height adjustment as well as tilt adjustment of the seat 100.
[0043] The four-bar linkage (I, II, III, IV) can have four coupling elements or connecting elements. The four-bar linkage (I, II, III, IV) can be formed from a base 200, at least one front connecting element 122, at least one rear connecting element 124, and an upper upholstery frame 102, for example, an upholstery frame 140 of the upper upholstery frame 102. The coupling elements or connecting elements of the four-bar linkage (I, II, III, IV) can be connected to each other in pairs by a respective pivot joint 302, 304, 306, 308.
[0044] A first pivot joint 302 can pivotally connect the base 200 to the rear connecting element 124. A second pivot joint 304 can pivotally connect the rear connecting element 124 to the upholstery frame 140. A third pivot joint 306 can pivotally connect the upholstery frame 140 to the front connecting element 122. A fourth pivot joint 308 can pivotally connect the front connecting element 122 to the base 200. The pivot joints 302, 304, 306, and 308 can permit rotational movement about a respective axis of rotation 312, 314, 316, and 318, which runs parallel to the transverse direction.
[0045] Fig. Figure 2 schematically shows a vehicle seat 100 according to the invention in a perspective view, wherein the seat 100 has an upper upholstery frame 102 with an upholstery frame 140 and a height adjuster 120, in particular a height adjustment kinematics 120.
[0046] The upholstery frame 140 has at least two upholstery frame side parts 142, which are arranged spaced apart from each other in a transverse direction. The upholstery frame 140 may further comprise an upholstery frame front part 146, which connects the two upholstery frame side parts 142.
[0047] The height adjuster 120, with which the height of the upholstery frame 140 is adjustable relative to a base 200, is arranged between the base of the vehicle seat 100 and the base 200. The base 200 can be a base bracket 202, which is attached, for example, to a vehicle floor and / or a longitudinal adjustment device 110. In the embodiment shown, the base 200 is a base bracket 202 that couples the height adjuster 120 to the longitudinal adjustment device 110, in particular to the upper rail 114.

Fig. 3 is the second tilt adjuster 400 on the opposite side.
[0054] The respective tilt adjuster 400 is arranged between the respective connecting element 124 and the respective upholstery frame side panel 142. The respective tilt adjuster 400 is attached to the respective upholstery frame side panel 142 and the respective connecting element 124. This arrangement and attachment of the tilt adjuster 400 improves the ability to maintain an ABTS (All Belts To Seat) load due to the number of metal-to-metal connections.
[0055] The respective tilt adjuster 400 is welded directly to the respective rear connecting element 124 and to the respective upholstered frame side panel 142. The rear connecting element 124 is pivotally attached to the base bracket 202 by means of a bushing 204 and a screw 206.
[0056] In particular, the respective tilt adjuster 400 is welded to an inwardly facing side 142.1 of the respective upholstery frame side part 142 and is welded to an outwardly facing side 124.1 of the respective rear connecting element 124.
[0057] In particular, the first fitting part 402 of each tilt adjuster 400 is welded to the upholstery frame side part 142. The second fitting part 404 of each tilt adjuster 400 is welded to the connecting element 124.
[0058] The height adjuster 120 further comprises at least one drive unit 410 for actuating the tilt adjuster 400. In particular, both tilt adjusters 400 of the height adjuster 120 are actuated by the same drive unit 410. The upholstery frame side parts 142 are coupled to each other via a transverse tube 148. The tilt adjusters 400 are coupled to each other via a transmission rod 406, shown schematically. The transmission rod 406 is arranged such that it extends within the transverse tube 148 and defines the axis of rotation 314 of the tilt adjusters 400 and the rear connecting elements 124. Each end of the transmission rod 406 is coupled to the left or right tilt adjuster 400, in particular to their respective fitting parts 402, 404. The fitting parts 402, 404 can be locked together and, in an unlocked state, can be rotated relative to each other about the axis of rotation 314.The transmission rod 406 couples the left and right tilt adjusters 400 to the single drive unit 410 to transmit an actuation from the drive unit 410 to both tilt adjusters 400. In particular, the transmission rod 406 is configured for the synchronized actuation of both tilt adjusters 400.
[0059] The drive unit 410 comprises at least one electric motor 412 and a gearbox or gearbox unit 414. The motor 412 and the gearbox unit 414 can each be arranged on an outwardly facing side 142.2, in particular an outer surface side, of one of the upholstery frame side parts 142.
[0060] The drive unit 410 is attached to the respective upholstery frame side panel 142 by a retaining bracket 416 and a screw connection 418. The motor 412 can extend parallel to a plane of extension of the upholstery frame side panel 142. The tilt adjuster 400, or the tilt adjusters 400 and the drive unit 410, can be arranged compactly on the upholstery frame 140, for example, in a transverse direction of the seat 100.
[0061] Each end of the cross tube 148 is coupled to an inwardly facing side 124.2 of each rear connecting element 124. A torque is transmitted from one side to the other via the cross tube 148 and the transmission rod 406.
[0062] Furthermore, a torsion spring 150 can be provided to reduce the effort required during the height adjustment process. The torsion spring 150 can be attached between the base brackets 202 on each side of the seat 100 and to one of the rear connecting elements 124, for example, to a lower pivot joint 302. Each end 152 of the torsion spring 150 can be held and supported by each of these base brackets 202. One end 152 of the torsion spring 150 can pass through a lower end of one of the rear connecting elements 124.
[0063] Fig. Figure 3 schematically shows the vehicle seat 100 according to the invention in a perspective view.
[0064] The height adjuster 120, with which the height of the upholstery frame 140 is adjustable relative to a base 200, is arranged between the base of the vehicle seat 100 and the base 200.
[0065] The height adjuster 120 comprises at least one rear pair of connecting elements 124 and one front pair of connecting elements 122.
[0066] Each connecting element 122, 124 is pivotally hinged to one of the upholstery frame side parts 142. The height adjuster 120 comprises at least one tilt adjuster 400, such as an adjustment device and pivot fitting, wherein the tilt adjuster 400 is coupled to one of the connecting elements 122, 124. The height adjuster 120 is configured as a cushion height adjustment device with at least one tilt adjuster 400.
[0067] At least one of the rear connecting elements 124 is equipped with the tilt adjuster 400.
[0068] The tilt adjuster 400 has at least a first fitting part 402 and a second fitting part 404, which can be locked together and, in an unlocked state, can be rotated relative to each other about a pivot axis which, in the embodiment shown, is aligned with the pivot axis 314.
[0069] The height adjuster 120 can comprise at least two tilt adjusters 400, arranged on each rear side of the upholstery frame 140. Each tilt adjuster 400 is associated with one of the rear connecting elements 124. In the embodiment shown, only one tilt adjuster 400 is visible.
[0070] The respective tilt adjuster 400 is arranged between the respective connecting element 124 and the respective upholstery frame side panel 142.
[0071] The respective tilt adjuster 400 is welded directly to the respective rear connecting element 124 and to the respective upholstered frame side panel 142. The rear connecting element 124 is pivotally attached to the base bracket 202 by means of a bushing 204 and a screw 206.
[0072] In particular, the respective tilt adjuster 400 is welded to an inwardly facing side 142.1 of the respective upholstery frame side part 142 and is welded to an outwardly facing side 124.1 of the respective rear connecting element 124.
[0073] In particular, the first fitting part 402 of each tilt adjuster 400 is welded to the upholstery frame side part 142. The second fitting part 404 of each tilt adjuster 400 is welded to the connecting element 124.
[0074] The height adjuster 120 further comprises at least one drive unit 410 for actuating the tilt adjuster 400.
[0075] Furthermore, at least one support plate 160 can be provided to support the connection between the transverse tube 148 and the respective rear connecting element 124. The support plate 160 can include an opening 162 through which the transverse tube 148 passes and is supported.
[0076] Fig. Figure 4 shows schematically in a side view the vehicle seat 100 according to the invention.
[0077] The drive unit 410 is attached to the respective upholstery frame side panel 142, in particular to the outwardly facing side 142.2 of the upholstery frame side panel 142, by a retaining bracket 416 and a screw connection 418. The motor 412 can extend parallel to a plane of extension of the upholstery frame side panel 142. The tilt adjuster 400 or tilt adjusters 400 and the drive unit 410 can be arranged compactly on the upholstery frame 140, for example in a transverse direction of the seat 100.
[0078] In another embodiment (not shown), the height adjuster 120 can comprise two drive units 410, each assigned to the left and right tilt adjuster 400, respectively. In this case, the transmission rod 406 can be omitted, and the operation of the drive units 410 can be synchronized via a control unit (not shown).
[0079] In summary, each tilt adjuster 400 can be positioned between the respective connecting element 124 and the associated upholstery frame side panel 142. Each tilt adjuster 400 is directly attached to the upholstery frame 140 and the associated connecting element 124 and thus welded in place. This reduces the number of components, the level of complexity, and the costs, for example, compared to conventional spindle drive systems.
[0080] Since the drive unit 410 for the tilt adjusters 400 is attached externally along the upholstery frame side panel 142, a minimal number of components need to be installed in the upholstery frame 140 and the cushion. This ensures maximum space for dummy metal components and is therefore suitable for seat cushions with a low block height.
[0081] Packaging and adjustment of the tilt adjuster arrangement according to the invention can be carried out at one of the pivot points of the four-bar linkage arrangement (I, II, III, IV).
