Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a device for using an image display device and to a system comprising such a device.
[0002] Digital devices such as laptops, smartphones, computers, and even motor vehicles are constantly being developed to meet evolving needs. This development is interdependent between software and hardware. To use new functions, especially applications, on a device requires appropriate hardware. Typically, specific devices are preferred for specific tasks.
[0003] A message is written on a smartphone. In the office, work is done on a laptop or computer, and a motor vehicle is used for transportation. All these devices have an interface for user input, known as a human-machine interface. For a device to be usable for a specific application, both the hardware and the software must be suitable. This means, in particular, that a corresponding application must be installed on the device. Furthermore, the device is selected according to its hardware, i.e., its input and display capabilities. In addition, every device has a corresponding processing unit.
[0004] Most users, however, have several different devices, each best suited for different tasks. This means that users must not only consider hardware compatibility but also install the appropriate application on each device. With multiple devices, this can mean installing the application on each one and synchronizing data. This represents a significant maintenance effort.
[0005] Furthermore, end devices are constantly evolving, both in terms of software and hardware. For example, developing a motor vehicle takes several years, but part of the development process involves specifying the hardware components to be installed in the vehicle. However, several years usually pass between the selection of these hardware components and mass production or delivery, meaning that by the time of delivery, the hardware and / or the corresponding software may no longer be up-to-date, or certain applications may no longer be usable. As a result, such an end device is already outdated at the time of delivery or manufacture. This is particularly true for computers, laptops, and smartphones, leading to the need for a new purchase after a few years, as the devices can no longer run the applications required by the user.
[0006] Furthermore, using multiple devices not only increases maintenance but also limits mobility. Most users already carry a smartphone for making calls and sending messages. If a user wants to work on the go, they need a laptop, as the screen size of a smartphone is usually too small, and it's questionable whether the smartphone can even run the desired application.
[0007] It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide an improved device for using an image display device and a system with such a device.
[0008] This task is solved by the subject matter of the independent claims. Advantageous further developments are specified in the dependent claims.
[0009] One aspect concerns a device for using an image display unit. The device comprises a computing module configured to provide a user interface, a detection module configured to detect an image display unit in the vicinity of the device, and a connection module configured to connect to the image display unit. The device further comprises a communication module configured to wirelessly transmit a data stream to the image display unit for displaying the user interface.
[0010] The device for using the image display unit is a mobile terminal designed to be portable by a person. In particular, it may be designed to be carried in a user's trouser pocket. Specifically, the device may have a cross-sectional area the size of a credit card.
[0011] In particular, the device is designed such that an image display device can be used with it. The image display device may be arranged externally to the device. In other words, the image display device may not be part of the device itself.
[0012] To operate the image display, the device includes a computing module. The computing module may, for example, include a microprocessor and / or a CPU. In particular, the computing module may be configured to run an operating system. The operating system may provide a user interface. A user interface can be understood as an interface with which a person, especially the user, can interact. For example, the user interface may display messages to the user.
[0013] It may also be intended that the operating system can run multiple applications.
[0014] In particular, it may be possible to allow the user to install applications on the operating system. Based on the installed applications, the computing module can provide a corresponding user interface. This has the advantage that the user can install all the applications they want on the device and carry them with them at all times.
[0015] Furthermore, the device includes a detection module. The detection module is configured to detect an image display device located externally to the device. In particular, the detection module can be configured to identify which image display device is in the vicinity of the device.
[0016] For example, the detection module can recognize that several image display devices are located near the device. To do this, the detection module can, for example, send out a broadcast signal, which is answered by the image display devices that receive this broadcast signal. It can be configured so that only available image display devices respond to the broadcast signal. The image display devices can also be identified via a detection function, which can also be referred to as discovery. "Nearby" in this context means, in particular, closer than 20 m, closer than 10 m, closer than 5 m, closer than 2 m, or closer than 1 m from the device.
[0017] An image display device can be understood to be a display unit, such as a monitor and / or a display. The image display device can be designed, for example, to be detectable by the recognition module. It is conceivable that the image display device could be a television, a projection screen, or a display board. This list is not exhaustive.
[0018] The device further comprises a connection module designed to connect to the image display unit. In particular, it is provided that the connection between the device and the image display unit can be wireless.
[0019] For example, the detection module can provide information about a detected display device to the connection module. Specifically, the detection module can determine the MAC address and / or IP address of the display device and transmit it to the connection module. Based on this information, the connection module can then establish a connection with the display device.
[0020] The communication module can communicate with the image display device. For example, the connection module can provide the communication module with information that the device is connected to the image display device. This information can include data that enables the communication module to communicate with the image display device and provide it with the data stream for image display. For this purpose, the image display device can have a communication module that corresponds to the communication module of the device.
[0021] The data stream can also include information or data for audio playback, such as music or speech information, which can then be provided by the display device and played back there via suitable means, such as a loudspeaker or headphones, as will be explained later. In particular, the data stream can also consist, at least in part, exclusively of data for audio playback, so that only audio signals are output by the display device or playback means.
[0022] In particular, it is provided that the image display device is designed solely for displaying the data stream. In other words, the image display device does not perform any calculations; this is done exclusively by the device according to the invention. However, it may be provided that the image display device converts a received data stream in order to display it on the image display device.
[0023] The image display device cannot be designed to execute applications. In other words, the image display device is designed only to display a user interface that is calculated or provided by the device's computing module and transmitted to the image display device.
[0024] This has the advantage that the user only needs the device that provides a user interface to the display. In other words, the user only needs to carry one device to be able to use different display devices, especially those located in different places. In particular, the user can use different display devices with the same device, meaning that user data, such as applications, is already present.
[0025] For example, the device comprises one or more electronic data processing programs, such as a word processor or spreadsheet program, which is stored on and executed by the device. This allows the user to use their office programs on any display device to which the device connects, regardless of the user's location. This eliminates the need to carry heavy equipment such as a laptop or tablet, which, when connected to a display device, incorporates redundant, and in particular superfluous, display components that are unnecessary with the device according to the invention.
[0026] The device also already has a configuration as requested by the user. In other words, the device performs all the necessary calculations and provides a user interface that is displayed based on the data stream from the image display unit.
[0027] It would be conceivable for the connection module to connect to the image display device and negotiate an identifier, such as a communication key. This identifier can then be provided to the communication module to encrypt the communication between the image display device and the device. This has the advantage that only one device can communicate with the image display device.
[0028] Furthermore, the device modules can be arranged in a housing. The modules can be arranged separately from each other, or they can be provided by a central unit. The modules can be hardware-based, software-based, or a combination of both. Additionally, the device can incorporate an energy storage unit within the housing.
[0029] The energy storage unit can be, for example, a rechargeable battery. In particular, the energy storage unit can be designed to be rechargeable. For this purpose, the device can be provided with a plug for charging the energy storage unit. Furthermore, the device can be provided with additional ports for connecting, for example, an external keyboard or an external monitor.
[0030] One embodiment provides that the communication module is further developed to wirelessly receive a data stream from the image display device for controlling the user interface.
[0031] In particular, it is provided that the image display unit transmits a data stream for controlling the user interface to the device, especially to the communication module. The communication module can then provide the data stream to the processing module. The data stream for controlling the user interface can, in particular, be based on user input at the image display unit.
[0032] For example, the data stream for controlling the user interface could be based on input via keyboard and / or mouse. It would also be conceivable that the display device has a touchscreen, allowing the user to input control information by touching the touchscreen.
[0033] This input can be transmitted to the communication module via the data stream, either in addition to or as an alternative to input via keyboard and / or mouse. In other words, the control data stream contains information encompassing the user's input and / or interaction with the user interface. Based on this data stream, the computing module can perform calculations and provide an updated user interface.
[0034] Because only a data stream is transmitted to the device for control purposes, the device itself has no means for user input, allowing the device to have a particularly compact design.
[0035] Another embodiment provides that the recognition module is configured to recognize what type of image display device is being used, and the data module is configured to send and / or receive the data stream depending on the type of image display device.
[0036] The recognition module can be configured to perform a handshake with the display device. Specifically, the recognition module can determine the type of display device. This includes, for example, the size of the display device, its screen resolution, and / or its refresh rate. This list is not exhaustive. In particular, the recognition module can determine parameters required to adapt the user interface to the display device.
[0037] Furthermore, it may be provided that the identified type of image display device is made available to the data module by the recognition module, so that the data module can send and / or receive the data stream depending on the type of image display device.
[0038] This has the advantage that the user interface and / or the information displayed on the user interface can be adapted to the image display device. This makes it possible to provide a customized user interface based on the image display device.
[0039] In one embodiment, the device may further include a location module configured to detect the current location of the device, and the data module further configured to send and / or receive the data stream depending on the location of the device.
[0040] Based on the current location, it can be determined which display devices are within range of the connection module, allowing the connection module to connect to one of these devices. Specifically, it can be determined, based on the current location, which display devices are currently, and potentially will be in the future, within range of the connection module.
[0041] The term "range" can refer specifically to the range for wireless communication. However, it can also be limited to the point where only a display device is within range and visually visible to the user. This has the advantage that the connection module only connects to a display device that is visually perceptible to the user.
[0042] Furthermore, the location module can, for example, determine the direction and / or speed of movement of the user, so that it can be determined which image display device will be within range in the future.
[0043] For example, it might be necessary for the user to move in one direction, while an image display device, although closer to the user, is located behind them, i.e., in the opposite direction to the user's movement. In such a case, an image display device that is aligned with the user's direction of movement can be selected based on the user's current position. For instance, it could also be determined based on the user's current location that they are at a train station and are expected to use a means of transport in the future. This would allow a connection to be established between the device and an image display device in the means of transport as soon as the user arrives.
[0044] The location module can detect user movement, allowing an image display device to be controlled within a certain range based on the movement.
[0045] According to a further embodiment, the communication module may be further designed to wirelessly send a data stream to the image display device for controlling the image display device.
[0046] In addition or alternatively, in addition to the wireless transmission of a data stream to the image display device for displaying the user interface, it may also be provided that a data stream different from the data stream for displaying the user interface is transmitted wirelessly.
[0047] In particular, the data stream may be sent to the display unit for control purposes. In other words, the communication module transmits a data stream from the display unit to control it. This data stream may, for example, include information specifying how the display unit should display the user interface.
[0048] For example, the image display device might be a head-up display in a vehicle. In such a case, the device can control the image display device so that the head-up display shows only information relevant to the user. Relevant information could include, for example, the vehicle's speed, navigation instructions, and / or an incoming message. In other words, the device is designed to control the image display device.
[0049] For example, the device may be connected to VR glasses. In this case, the device may control the VR glasses as an image display device in such a way that the information to be displayed, provided by the device, is superimposed with data provided by the VR glasses themselves, as will be explained later.
[0050] This has the advantage that the image display device can be adapted to the user and / or the situation.
[0051] One embodiment provides that the connection module is further configured to connect the device to a remote computing unit, and wherein the communication module is configured to receive a data stream from the remote computing unit and / or to send a data stream to the remote computing unit.
[0052] The computing device can be, for example, an external server or a cloud. The communication module is configured to receive a data stream from the remote computing device and / or send it to the remote computing device. For example, the computing module can provide the user interface based on the data stream between the communication module and the remote computing device. This has the advantage that user data can be stored centrally in a remote computing device and retrieved by the device as needed. This reduces the required storage capacity of the device itself.
[0053] For example, the device can also be used as an identification means, so that the device, in particular the connection module, establishes a connection with a display device, and the communication module communicates with the display device and the remote computing device to enable a direct connection between the remote computing device and the display device. In this case, the device serves to authenticate the user with both the display device and the remote computing device. This has the advantage that the user interface can be provided to the display device by the remote computing device. This also reduces the power consumption of the device itself. In other words, in this case the device serves to detect image display equipment within range and to establish a secure connection between the remote computing equipment and the image display equipment.
[0054] It may also be envisaged that the communication module is further developed to send the data stream to the image display device depending on the data stream from the remote computing device.
[0055] The display unit can be controlled by means of a data stream provided by the remote computer and transmitted to the communication module. In other words, the remote computer transmits the data stream to the communication module, which in turn transmits the data stream to the display unit. Thus, the communication module enables secure communication between the remote computer and the display unit.
[0056] In one embodiment, the device may not include an image display unit.
[0057] The device is designed to have an external display unit. In other words, the display unit is not part of the device. The device is merely designed to control an external display unit. Even with a wired or wireless connection between the device and the display unit, the display unit does not constitute part of the device. In particular, the device may not have a display unit. In other words, the device is not designed for optical communication between a user and the device itself. Specifically, the device does not have a color display, a black and white display, and / or an E-Ink display. While the device may have a status LED, this status LED is not to be considered a display unit.In particular, the device lacks any means of displaying a user interface.
[0058] This has the advantage that the device is particularly energy-efficient and allows for a long battery life.
[0059] In another embodiment, the device may not include a user input device.
[0060] A user input device can be understood as a means designed to detect user input. A user input device can, for example, be a human-machine interface. However, it is possible that the device does not have such a user input device. In other words, the user input device is located externally to the device. While the device may have a switch for turning it on or off, such a switch does not constitute a user input device. Similarly, the device does not have a keyboard and / or mouse. Although it may be possible to connect a keyboard and / or mouse to the device, particularly via the display unit, the keyboard and / or mouse do not form part of the device itself.
[0061] Furthermore, it may be stipulated that the image display device is an image display device of a motor vehicle.
[0062] The vehicle usually has several display systems. For example, the vehicle might have a head-up display, a digital cockpit, a passenger display, a central display, and / or displays for the rear seats.
[0063] It may also be intended that the image display device is an image display device in a public space.
[0064] A public space can be understood as an area freely accessible to everyone. In particular, several people can be present in a public space at the same time. For example, a plaza, a street, or a bus stop can constitute a public space. An institution, a gallery, and / or a shop can also be considered a public space. A defining characteristic of a public space is the presence of visual displays, for example, for advertising or informational purposes. The space within a means of transport, such as a train or a taxi, can also be considered a public space. In particular, public spaces feature visual displays that are visible to a large number of people.
[0065] The device may be designed to connect to a public space display via the connection module. For example, the communication module and / or the location module may detect that the display is located in a public space. Based on this information, the device can determine which information should be displayed on the display. For example, the user may be able to configure the device to display only specific information, such as information that does not contain private details. Alternatively, the device may be configured to display only information that immediately captures the user's attention, such as a warning message.
[0066] In public spaces, there are usually a large number of image display devices, so the device can connect to an image display device in a public space even without prior coupling.
[0067] One embodiment provides that the device further includes a fastening device designed to attach the device to a part of a user's body.
[0068] The device can be attached to the user or to a piece of clothing by means of a fastening device. Alternatively, the device can be integrated into a garment. For example, the device could be part of a wristwatch, a belt buckle, or an accessory.
[0069] This has the advantage that the device can be carried around by the user as discreetly as possible and the user has access to the device's functions at any time.
[0070] In one embodiment, the image display device is a viewing device designed to display the data stream on a viewing element that is at least partially transparent.
[0071] A viewing device can be understood as a device which is designed in such a way that a human eye can see at least partially through the viewing device or through the section-transparent viewing element of the viewing device.
[0072] In particular, the viewing device is designed so that a user interface can be overlaid with the user's view of the environment located behind the viewing device. In other words, the user can see through the user interface. For example, such a viewing device could be a head-up display in a car. The head-up display can be used, for instance, to show relevant vehicle information such as the oil level, vehicle speed, and / or direction of travel, but also to display user-specific information such as messages or incoming phone calls.
[0073] For example, the device can connect to the head-up display as an image display and provide a user interface on the display. Thus, the device and the vehicle's display can share the image display. For instance, the area of the head-up display that the device can use can be predefined. Alternatively, the device can utilize the entire surface of the head-up display as an image display and receive vehicle-relevant information through communication with the vehicle, displaying this information on the head-up display based on its relevance. In other words, the head-up display can be fully utilized by the device as an image display unit. Based on vehicle-related information provided by the vehicle and applications running on the device itself or supplied by an external computing unit, the device determines which information is displayed on the user interface. This has the advantage that the device can transmit the relevance of all information displayed on the head-up display and display it according to a predefined setting.
[0074] For example, the device may also utilize eyeglasses, in particular AR, MR, and / or VR glasses (which are used synonymously below), as an image display device. It may also be intended, for instance, that the eyeglasses are used in a vehicle as described above, so that both vehicle-related information and information from applications running on the device are displayed on a transparent viewing element of the eyeglasses. Because the device is located externally to the eyeglasses, the eyeglasses can have a slim design.
[0075] In particular, the glasses are designed to blend real-world information with data stream data. Specifically, it may be possible to determine or predefine a degree of blending based on a user setting or preference.
[0076] In particular, it is not necessary for the glasses themselves to have a computing module and / or a fixed memory, but only a communication module, volatile memory, and image display means. This allows the glasses to be designed to be particularly compact, lightweight, and / or delicate. In particular, this allows for a smaller energy storage unit to be provided on the glasses compared to other glasses or systems, since the device according to the invention provides the computing power and the glasses merely display the image stream.
[0077] Furthermore, it may be stipulated that, in the event that several image display devices are available simultaneously, one type of image display device is preferred over another. For example, when using VR glasses, the use of the VR glasses as the image display device may be preferred over the use of an image display device that is different from the VR glasses.
[0078] In this case, the data stream can also include video data, such as a film or series. This allows the glasses to be used as a portable cinema screen, enabling users to enjoy films anywhere in a cinematic atmosphere, especially due to the short distance to the eye.
[0079] In particular, the glasses may also be designed to include one or more audio playback devices or such means of audio playback as one or more loudspeakers or headphones. Specifically, the headphones may be designed as bone conduction headphones and, for example, be located in the temple of the glasses.
[0080] The device according to the invention and / or the glasses as an image display device can be configured, in particular, to integrate into an existing infotainment system of a motor vehicle, thus providing a hub between different, not necessarily compatible, systems. The glasses can both reproduce a data stream with audio and / or image data, in particular video data, from the device and provide information from the motor vehicle.
[0081] The device can, in particular, receive a data stream containing relevant information from the vehicle and forward it to the glasses, taking into account user settings. For example, a user can configure or define which information from the vehicle they wish to have displayed on the glasses.
[0082] Such information may include, in particular, drive information such as speed, engine speed, fuel level, turn signals and / or warning information, comfort information such as an interior and / or exterior temperature, and / or navigation information such as turn-by-turn directions.
[0083] The data stream can also include information about a current event, and in particular a warning and / or hazard notification, for example, of an accident, a natural disaster, and / or a road closure on the route and / or nearby, which can be received, for example, from a remote computing facility. This information can also be based on the device's current location and provide instructions to the user of the device via the image display unit and, in particular, the glasses. These instructions can include, in particular, behavioral guidelines, an escape route, and / or a detour, and can be provided to the user in real time.
[0084] In particular, the glasses can also provide user support for other devices or equipment, for example, for users with disabilities such as reduced vision and / or hearing. For instance, the data stream can include explanatory information about the environment, thus supporting the user in their daily life. The glasses can be used as visual and / or hearing aids. Furthermore, the level of support is adjustable and definable by the user, adapting it to different scenarios.
[0085] The data, and in particular the information density and selection thereof, which the glasses display or reproduce from the device according to the invention, the environment (i.e., the real world), and other devices or equipment, such as a motor vehicle's infotainment system, can be determined, in particular, by means of artificial intelligence. Thus, depending on the user's previous behavior, current location, current time of day, and / or detected devices or equipment, the artificial intelligence can control the data stream and, in particular, decide when, how, and where which information is displayed. The device is therefore a central hub and control point that can coordinate and orchestrate information from various sources for display on different devices.
[0086] Another aspect of the invention relates to a system comprising such a device and an image display device.
[0087] In one embodiment, the image display device may include a user input device configured to receive user input for controlling the device.
[0088] The invention is explained in more detail using the accompanying figure as an example. It shows: Fig. 1 a schematic representation of the device according to the invention; Fig. 2 a schematic representation of an embodiment of the device; Fig. 3 a schematic representation of the device in a public space; Fig. 4 a schematic representation of the device in a motor vehicle; Fig. 5 a schematic representation of the system with a device.
[0089] The embodiment described below is a preferred embodiment of the invention. In this embodiment, the described components each represent individual features of the invention that can be considered independently of one another. Each of these features further develops the invention independently and can therefore be considered part of the invention individually or in a combination other than that shown. Furthermore, the described embodiment can also be supplemented by other features of the invention already described.
[0090] In the figures, the same reference symbols designate elements with the same function.
[0091] Fig. Figure 1 shows a schematic representation of the device 1 according to the invention. The device 1 comprises a computing module 20. The computing module 20 is configured to provide a user interface 22 (not shown here). Furthermore, the device 1 comprises a recognition module 30. The recognition module 30 is configured to recognize an image display device 10 (not shown here).
[0092] The detection module 30 can detect the image display device 10 either optically or based on digital communication. The detection module 30 may be connected to a connection module 40.
[0093] The connection module 40 is designed to establish a connection with the image display unit 10 for the transmission of data streams. This connection can be wired and / or wireless. For example, the connection module 40 can determine identification information from the image display unit 10. This identification information can include data that allows the image display unit 10 to be uniquely identified. Furthermore, the connection module 40 can enable an encrypted connection between the image display unit 10 and the image display unit 10.
[0094] Furthermore, the device 1 may be provided with a communication module 50. Optionally, the identification information may be provided by the connection module 40 to the communication module 50. Based on the identification information, the communication module 50 can send and / or receive a data stream to the image display device 1.
[0095] Furthermore, the communication module 50 may be connected to the computing module 20, enabling the computing module 20 to provide the user interface 22 to the communication module 50. The computing module 20 may provide the user interface 22 to the communication module 50 as a data stream. Alternatively, the communication module 50 may convert the user interface into a data stream. The communication module 50 then transmits the data stream to the image display unit 10.
[0096] In Fig. Figure 2 shows a schematic representation of an embodiment of the device 1. Fig. The embodiment of device 1 shown in Figure 2 is based on the one described in Figure 2. Fig. Device 1 shown in 1, wherein the device 1 according to Fig. 2 further features a data module 60.
[0097] The data module 60 is designed to determine the type of image display device 10. In particular, the data module 60 can determine display-specific information, such as resolution, display size, and / or refresh rate. Furthermore, the data module 60 can provide the display-specific information to the computing module 20, so that the computing module 20 can provide the user interface 22 based on this information.
[0098] Furthermore, the device 1 has a location module 70. The location module 70 is configured to determine the current position of the device 1. The current position can, for example, be provided by the location module 70 in the form of GPS coordinates.
[0099] Furthermore, the location module 70 can determine, based on the current position, which image display device 10 is currently or will become within range of the device 1. Range can be understood, in particular, as the reception range of the communication module in the case of a wireless connection. The location module 70 can also determine the viewing direction of a user 100 (not shown here), so that, based on this information, the connection module 40 can establish a connection with an image display device 10 that is perceptible to the user 100.
[0100] In Fig. Figure 3 shows a schematic representation of the device 1 in public space 500. Public space 500 can be, for example, a gallery or a street. Usually, shops are arranged along a street or in a gallery, which, in the sense of the Fig. 3. The public space 500 forms the public space. The public space 500 usually has a display device 10 for showing customer information or advertising. The device 1, which is carried by the user 100, can connect to the display device 10 by means of the connection module 40.
[0101] It may be intended, for example, that the user 100 carries the device 1 with them using a fastening device 80. The fastening device 80 may be, for example, a clip, a holder, and / or a fastening element for attaching the device 1 to a piece of clothing worn by the user 100.
[0102] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 3, several image display devices 10 can be arranged in close proximity to the user 100. In particular, the proximity can be defined according to the user's range. In such a case, the device 1 can determine, based on information from the data module 60 (i.e., what type of image display device 10 it is) and / or based on information from the location module 70, which image display device 10 will display the user interface 22.
[0103] Furthermore, it shows Fig. 3. A remote computing device 200. The computing device 200 could, for example, be a cloud. In one example, the communication module 50 could receive a data stream from the computing device 200 to control the image display device 10. Furthermore, the communication module 50 could transmit the received data stream to the image display device 10.
[0104] In another example, the connection module 40 may provide the identification information to the communication module 50, so that the communication module 50 transmits this identification information to the computing unit 200, enabling the computing unit 200 to communicate directly with the image display unit based on the identification information. Specifically, the computing unit 200 can transmit the user interface 22 based on the identification information.
[0105] It may be provided that the image display device 10 has a user input device 15. Alternatively, it may be provided that the user input device 15 is arranged externally to the device 1 and externally to the image display device 10. It may also be provided that the communication module 50 is configured to receive a data stream for controlling the image display device 10, i.e., in other words, a data stream based on user input.
[0106] However, it would also be conceivable that the data stream for controlling the image display device 10 is transmitted to the computer device 200 based on the identification information when the image display device 10 is directly connected, so that the user interface 22 can be transmitted to the image display device 10 based on the data stream for controlling the image display device 10.
[0107] Fig. Figure 4 shows a schematic representation of the device 1 when used in a motor vehicle 300. The user 100 can carry the device 1 with them. Accordingly, when the user 100 enters the motor vehicle 300, the device 1 is located inside the motor vehicle 300.
[0108] It may be provided that the user 100 places the device 1 at a predetermined position in the motor vehicle 300. In an embodiment not shown, it may be provided that the device 1 is connected to an image display unit 10 of the motor vehicle 300. As explained previously, the device 1 can either be connected directly to the image display unit 10 or, alternatively, to a control unit of the motor vehicle 300 to control the image display unit 10 of the motor vehicle 300.
[0109] In the Fig. However, in the embodiment shown in Figure 4, the user 100 wears a vision device 400, such as glasses, in particular VR glasses. The vision device 400 can have a transparent viewing element. The transparent viewing element is designed such that it can be used as an image display device 10.
[0110] Thus, the device 1, in particular the communication module 50, can be connected to the vision device 400. Furthermore, the device 1 can be connected to a control unit of the motor vehicle 300 in order to receive vehicle-related information from the control unit. The communication module 50 can transmit the received information to the computing module 20, so that the computing module 20, based on the information and on applications executed on the device 1, generates a data stream for displaying the user interface 22.
[0111] Fig. Figure 5 shows a schematic representation of a system 1000 with a device 1. It is intended that a user 100 carries the device 1 with them. Furthermore, the system 1000 includes the image display device 10.
[0112] As described above, the device 1 can transmit a data stream to the image display device 10. The data stream can contain information so that the image display device 10 displays a user interface 22.
[0113] Furthermore, it may be provided that the image display device 10 has a user input device 15.
