Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a handle for window frames and in particular to a handle of the intended type, in particular for windows and / or French doors.

[0002] The handles commonly known in the industry, the so-called "Martellina," are used to control the opening mechanism of windows and French doors and feature a 90° click-in positioning feature. A particularly popular type of this handle is one that incorporates the anchoring and positioning system into the handle body itself; this way, the handle is free from the base that anchors it to the window, significantly reducing its impact on appearance and making it a preferred choice because it can be adapted to different models and types of window frames.

[0003] Known handles of this type are described, for example, in patent applications EP4030021, EP3392435.

[0004] However, these handles have a number of operating problems, particularly due to the fact that the locking positioning system is housed in a small space, such as may be present in the handle body.

[0005] The aim of the present invention is to provide a window handle for window frames which overcomes the problems of known handles while retaining their advantageous properties and at the same time represents a preferred alternative in terms of aesthetics and technical advantages.

[0006] Another object of the handle according to the invention is that it is structurally simple and therefore less prone to breakage and has lower production and maintenance costs compared to known handles.

[0007] These and other objects are achieved by the handle according to the invention, the essential features of which are defined in the first of the appended claims. Further important features are defined in the dependent claims.

[0008] The features and advantages of the handle according to the present invention will become clearer from the following description of an embodiment, shown as a non-limiting example with reference to the accompanying drawings in which. - Fig. Figure 1 is a cross-sectional view of a handle according to the invention mounted on a window frame part F; Fig. 2 an exploded view of the handle in Fig. 1; and Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 two different ways of mounting the handle on the window frame according to an orthogonal arrangement ( Fig. 3) or according to a 45° arrangement ( Fig. 4).

[0009] As shown in the figures, the handle 1 consists of a handle 10 intended to be grasped by the user in order to move the handle in the action of opening or closing the window frame (shown in the figures only by a part F thereof) to which the handle is operatively connected.

[0010] The handle further includes a body 11 which is connected to the handle in an angled manner with respect to the latter.

[0011] The body 11 of the handle is in particular intended to be arranged along its own longitudinal axis X', which in use may be parallel to the ground or perpendicular to the window frame.

[0012] The body 11 defines a housing 2 for a group of elements for anchoring the handle to the window frame and a group of elements for actuating the mechanism for opening and / or closing the window frame. The housing 2 provides a front part 20, designed to face the window frame and contain at least the elements to be attached to the frame, and a rear part 21, arranged further inwardly in the housing 2, designed to accommodate at least the actuating elements.

[0013] The group of elements for anchoring the handle 1 to the window frame includes an anchoring base 3, which has means for anchoring the handle to the window frame. These anchoring means include, for example, through holes 31 for screws 32 for fastening to the frame profile F.

[0014] The holes 31 are arranged along their own longitudinal axis X'.

[0015] For this purpose, corresponding holes 320 for inserting the screws 32 are provided in the window frame F. The holes 320 can be made at 90° to each other and orthogonally, ie on the XY axes of a Cartesian three-axis system oriented to the ground so that the X axis is parallel to the ground and the Y axis is perpendicular to the ground, or at 45° with respect to this three-axis system (see in particular Fig. 3 and Fig. 4).

[0016] The anchoring base 3 is shaped so that it can be positioned in the housing 2, and in particular the front part 20. Preferably, but not restrictively, the anchoring base 3 has a substantially cylindrical shape and extends around its own longitudinal axis X'. The anchoring base 3 also has a central elongated through-hole 30.

[0017] Coupled to the anchoring base is a bushing 4 having a central body 40 in which an elongated through-hole 400 is formed, which, during assembly, is arranged coaxially with the central hole 30 of the anchoring base 3, corresponding to the longitudinal axis X'. The bushing 4 also has a circumferential crown 41 rotatably coupled to the inner wall 200 of the part 20 of the housing 2.

[0018] The bushing 4 preferably, but not restrictively, has a substantially cylindrical shape extending around the longitudinal axis X'.

[0019] The through hole 400 of the bushing 4 and the hole 30 of the anchoring base further define a through hole receptacle 5 for receiving a longitudinally arranged sleeve 6.

[0020] The sleeve 6 has an elongated central portion 61 and is freely rotatable within the receptacle 5 about the longitudinal axis X'. The sleeve 6 also has an enlarged head 62, which bears against the base 3 through the bushing 4 for axial sealing of the handle during use. The sleeve 6 has a pin 63 with flat walls (e.g., but not limited to, a substantially square cross-section) for engaging the body 11 of the handle, and in particular within the rear portion 21 of the housing 2.

[0021] The sleeve 6 further has a longitudinal central through-hole 64 for receiving an actuating pin 7 of the window frame opening / closing mechanism.

[0022] In addition, the sleeve 6 contains a hole 65 arranged transversely to the longitudinal axis X' for the passage of an adjusting screw 66, which locks the mutual position between the handle body 11, the sleeve 6, and the actuating pin 7. A hole is also open on the handle body 11, which, during assembly, mates with the hole 65 for the passage of the adjusting screw.

[0023] Then, a washer 8 is provided, which is arranged during assembly at the innermost point of the front part 20 of the housing 2. The washer 8 contains projections 81, which, during assembly, engage in corresponding notches 200a on the inner wall 200 of the front part 20 of the housing, resulting in a firm engagement between the washer and the handle body.

[0024] The notches 200a are preferably, but not restrictively, arranged at an angle of 45° to each other.

[0025] The projections 81 are of an even number and arranged in an orderly manner around the circumference of the washer.

[0026] The number of notches is preferably, but not limited to, eight. In one embodiment, the number of notches is four.

[0027] The number of extensions, 81, is functionally proportional to the number of notches. In the case of eight notches, there will be four extensions; in the case of four notches, there will be two.

[0028] In the solution with four extensions 81, these will be arranged at 90° to each other.

[0029] The washer 8 also has a central longitudinal hole 80 for the passage of the sleeve 6, this hole 80 together with the hole 30 and the hole 400 forming the receptacle 5.

[0030] Going further into the details of the technical solution, the anchoring base 3 also has receptacles 33, each for receiving, in an elongated arrangement, respective locking positioning means 9. Such means comprise a spring 90 supporting a ball 91 at its head. The spring therefore arranges itself according to a longitudinal arrangement, ie, according to the longitudinal axis X' of the body 11 of the handle, exerting a compressive force on the ball 91 directed precisely along this longitudinal axis.

[0031] The connection between socket 4 and base 3 is achieved by means of a locking engagement of first locking engagement means 42 of the socket with second locking engagement means 34 of the base 3.

[0032] The locking engagement between the first 42 and the second locking engagement means 34 not only results in the stable connection between the bushing 4 and the base 3, but also in the correct preload of the spring 90, which then acts via the ball 91, which presses on corresponding receptacles 82 on the washer 8.

[0033] In a preferred solution, two or four locking positioning means 9 are provided, which are arranged in a circle and evenly spaced.

[0034] The rotation of the handle 10, i.e. the operation of the handle when opening / closing the window frame, causes the washer 8 to rotate within the housing; The rotation of the washer causes the balls 91 to be pushed in the opposite direction to the spring action, thereby forcing the balls 91 out of their respective receptacles 82 and thus their longitudinal retraction upon further compression of the springs 90. After the rotation of the handle is complete, the balls 91 re-enter their corresponding receptacles in the washer, which again blocks rotation.

[0035] The number of receptacles is preferably, but not limited to, four and arranged at 90° to each other.

[0036] The positioning of the notches 200a at 45° allows the washer to be positioned in the position corresponding to the balls arranged on the base. In fact, with reference to the Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 shows that the assembly of the base in an orthogonal ( Fig. 3) or 45° ( Fig. 4) arrangement also results in the washer being positioned in an orthogonal ( Fig. 3) or 45°-rotated ( Fig. 4) arrangement is placed.

[0037] The described solution thus leads to a structural simplification compared to conventional handles. For example, the longitudinal arrangement of the locking positioning means rather than transversely, as in conventional solutions, allows for a more compact and, at the same time, more functional structure and mechanism. This increased compactness allows all kinematic elements to be housed in the handle body, thus reducing the overall size of the handle. Furthermore, the washer is a single piece, allowing the handle to be mounted on any type of window frame, universally on right-angle or 45° window frame attachments.

[0038] The present invention has been described herein with reference to preferred embodiments thereof. It is intended that further embodiments may exist that relate to the same inventive essence, all of which fall within the scope of the claims below.

[0039] In summary, the present invention provides an improved window frame handle and in particular a handle which is particularly intended for use on windows and / or French doors. QUOTES CONTAINED IN THE DESCRIPTION
