Description
There are now highly developed small robotic lawnmowers for gardens up to 300 square meters. However, the average terraced house garden is between 50 and 70 square meters. The currently available devices are oversized for this. Their size also makes them a nuisance in the garden. With the currently most common design—external chassis, internal blades—it's not possible to arbitrarily reduce the size. The available cutting width then becomes ineffective. Additional edge trimmers can no longer be attached either. The invention described in claim 1 addresses the problem of creating a small, autonomous robotic lawnmower that achieves the largest possible cutting width and also cuts cleanly along edges. The cost should be suitable for the terraced house garden segment. The problem is solved by the features listed in claim 1. The maximum cutting width is achieved by having the blade form a kind of dome-shaped outer ring. The drive unit with electronics (mobile unit) is located underneath it in the inner area. Attached to the cake dome is a camera or stereo camera that rotates with it, creating a 360-degree image that is then processed by the electronics. The entire assembly is covered by a round housing, preventing contact with the knife. A carrying handle is attached to the top, which may also incorporate antennas. An exemplary design is shown in Figure 1. Where 1 is the carrying handle, possibly with an integrated antenna, 2 symbolizes the external controls, 3 the housing, and 4 a transparent ring inside the housing behind which the camera rotates.
