Description
[0001] The invention relates to an intraocular lens for insertion into the human eye. Conventional intraocular lenses consist of an optic and a fixation frame, the so-called haptic.
[0002] Documents DE 29921208, US 2019 / 091010, and FR 2900569 disclose intraocular lenses comprising optics and a tensioning device designed as a tension ring (2), wherein the tension ring (2) generates a radially outward holding force. Documents FR 2849592 and EP 1155665 describe tensioning devices in the form of tension rings intended for use in combination with intraocular lenses having at least one haptic. Document US 6986787 describes an intraocular lens consisting of optics and a haptic structure with a helical winding.
[0003] The haptic element holds the optic in a centered position and secures it during the capsular bag's healing process. During this process, the capsular bag shrinks, counteracting the spring forces of the haptic element. This can lead to stress wrinkles forming on the posterior capsular bag, which can affect the optics. The same effect occurs if the capsular bag is too small relative to the haptic element's diameter.
[0004] Due to the small diameter of the optics, the patient may experience glare in the dark, caused by reflections at the edge of the optics. Furthermore, small optics make it more difficult for the surgeon to see and work during future procedures on the back of the eye (retina), as the edge of the optics obstructs the surgeon's view.
[0005] The object of the present invention is therefore to eliminate the disadvantages of the prior art. This object is achieved by the subject matter of the independent claims. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims.
[0006] The invention relates to an intraocular lens comprising an optic, according to claim 1.
[0007] According to the invention, the intraocular lens has a preloading device. Advantageously, the preloading device enables controlled unfolding of the intraocular lens within the capsular bag of the eye.
[0008] This makes it advantageous to insert optics with a diameter greater than or equal to 8 mm, preferably 9 mm to 14 mm, into the capsular bag of the eye. This allows for the insertion of a full-surface optic into the eye. In this way, the capsular bag can be completely filled by the intraocular lens, and the capsular bag can be fully expanded.
[0009] This reduces glare and provides the surgeon with a better view of the retina during follow-up procedures. The larger diameter of the optic ensures it lies evenly on the back of the capsular bag, thus reducing stress wrinkles.
[0010] The pretensioning device advantageously enables uniform tensioning of the capsular bag and improved centering of the lens in the capsular bag.
[0011] Preferably, the intraocular lens and the tensioning device are designed to be flexible and / or deformable. This allows the intraocular lens and the tensioning device to adapt very well to the shape of the eye or the capsular bag. Furthermore, the tensioning device, due to its flexibility, can exert a holding force on the eye or the capsular bag.
[0012] Preferably, the preloading device is made of the same material as the optics. This advantageously allows for particularly simple manufacturing; in particular, the preloading device and the optics can be formed as a single piece.
[0013] The pre-tensioning device is designed as a clamping ring. This allows the capsule bag to be tensioned evenly and advantageously. In particular, the clamping ring acts radially outwards, enabling a particularly secure fastening within the capsule bag.
[0014] Preferably, the pretensioning device is integrated into the periphery of the optic. This advantageously allows for particularly secure attachment within the lens capsule.
[0015] The optic has an opening at its periphery, particularly crescent-shaped, for embedding the pretensioning device. This advantageously allows the pretensioning device to be positioned in the opening when implanted, thus enabling a particularly good fit within the capsular bag.
[0016] Preferably, the intraocular lens has an eyelet for an injection device or a hook for an injection device. Advantageously, the eyelet allows the intraocular lens to be inserted into the capsular bag with particular precision.
[0017] Preferably, the intraocular lens is designed to be rollable and / or foldable. This allows for particularly precise placement of the intraocular lens.
[0018] Another subject of the disclosure relates to an injection device for inserting the intraocular lens according to the invention into the human eye. The injection device preferably tapers towards its tip and is preferably conical in shape. This advantageously causes the intraocular lens to be rolled towards the tip of the injection device and thus in the direction of injection. Preferably, the tip is rounded and fits into the eyelet of the intraocular lens.
[0019] Preferably, the tip is at least partially roughened to loosen adhesions of the capsular bag from the optic and to detach them circumferentially over a broad area. The injection device preferably has a handpiece that can be operated with one or both hands during implantation. The handpiece is preferably dimensionally stable.
[0020] The injection device is preferably curved. This allows the lens to be inserted into the eye more effectively.
[0021] Preferably, the injection device is designed to be transparent, thereby enabling improved position control of the intraocular lens.
[0022] The injection device preferably has a guide groove for the preloading device of the intraocular lens, the guide groove extending to the tip. This advantageously allows the intraocular lens to be adjusted and centered with particular precision within the capsular bag. The guide groove directs the preloading device towards the tip of the injection device and thus in the injection direction.
[0023] Preferably, the injection device has a movable plunger at its tip for inserting the intraocular lens into the capsular bag. Preferably, a hook is arranged on the plunger, the hook being designed to suspend the intraocular lens or its preloading device. Preferably, the hook is tiltable to release the intraocular lens or its preloading device at the desired position. The injection device can then be removed from the eye.
[0024] Further advantages, features, and details of the invention will become apparent from the following description of preferred embodiments and from the drawings. These show schematically in: Fig. 1 shows an intraocular lens according to the invention before insertion into the eye, Fig. 2 shows the intraocular lens according to the invention after insertion into the eye, and Fig. 3 shows an injection device with the intraocular lens according to the invention.
[0025] In the figures, identical components or components with the same function are marked with the same reference symbols.
[0026] Fig. 1 Figure 1 shows an intraocular lens 1 according to the invention before insertion into the eye. According to the invention, the lens has a preloading device 2, wherein the preloading device 2 is in the relaxed state. An optic 3 is located inside the intraocular lens 1. The optic 3 has a diameter greater than or equal to 8 mm, preferably 9 mm to 14 mm.
[0027] The preloading device 2 is designed as a clamping ring and is integrated into the periphery of the optic 3, surrounding it at its periphery. The preloading device 2 is attached to the optic 3 over a circumferential angle of approximately 270°–330°. The preloading device is detached from the optic 3 over a residual angle of approximately 90°–30°. Furthermore, the intraocular lens 1 has an eyelet 4 on the detached part of the preloading device, into which an injection device 7 can engage.
[0028] Fig. 2 Figure 1 shows the intraocular lens 1 according to the invention after insertion into the eye, such that the tensioning device 2 is in the tensioned state within the capsular bag 6. The tensioning device 2 is embedded in a groove at the periphery of the optic 3. Due to the elasticity of the tensioning device 2, it presses radially in the direction of the force arrows 5, so that the intraocular lens 1 is held firmly and precisely within the capsular bag 6.
[0029] Fig. 3 Figure 7 shows an injection device 7 with the intraocular lens 1 according to the invention. The intraocular lens 1 is placed, rolled up, into the rear opening of the injection device 7. In the injection direction 8, the injection device 7 tapers towards the tip, so that the tip can be placed in the eye. The preloading device 2 is guided in a guide groove 9 extending towards the tip, so that the intraocular lens 1 can be moved from back to front towards the tip. During this process, the intraocular lens 1 is continuously rolled up. Reference symbol list
