Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a massage device.

[0002] Back pain is a well-known and widespread condition that affects many people in their daily lives and at work. The prevalence of back pain can be seen in some figures (as of 2020): The total costs in Germany for back pain alone are estimated at around 50 billion euros. 20% of back patients suffer from chronic back pain, accounting for approximately 80% of the costs associated with back pain. More than 18 million employees suffer from back pain as a result of their job. Of these, well over 70% feel that their overall health and well-being are impaired by the condition, thus limiting their performance.

[0003] It is particularly important to note that just under half of all back problems result from tension in the back muscles, which is generally treatable.

[0004] It's well known that excessive and incorrect sitting can contribute to back pain. In fact, more and more studies are showing that our sedentary lifestyle is one of the biggest risk factors for our health.

[0005] Sitting itself isn't necessarily problematic; it's only prolonged, static sitting without much movement that becomes problematic. Static sitting can weaken muscles in many parts of the body because they aren't used, causing them to atrophy. For example, it's known that the tension that causes back pain is more likely to occur in weakened abdominal and back muscles than in well-trained ones, and a large proportion of common back and neck problems can be traced back to this. Lack of exercise also causes the fascia to shorten and harden. Lymphatic fluid builds up in tense muscles, and the fiber layers stick together, becoming rigid and immobile.

[0006] Every muscle movement loosens the muscles, activates the fascia and supports the transport of lymph, thus counteracting the thickening and hardening of the fascia.

[0007] Accordingly, there is a need to mobilize the muscles in order to counteract hardening and thickening of the muscles and thus ultimately reduce back pain.

[0008] A well-known therapy for mobilizing muscles, for example in the back, is so-called trigger point therapy, which aims to eliminate pain from so-called myofascial trigger points.

[0009] Trigger points, which correspond to small muscle hardenings, are caused by, among other things, excessive strain or poor posture. Trigger points can be either active or latent, meaning silent. An active trigger point causes pain not only when the muscle is active, but also when at rest. A latent trigger point, on the other hand, only causes pain when palpated, but also promotes further muscular imbalances and discomfort.

[0010] With targeted trigger point therapy, muscles can be loosened and pain eliminated. Trigger points, which can be felt as lumps and reached with the hands or aids, can be soothed and resolved through self-treatment. Trigger point therapy has a wide range of applications, for example, in the shoulder or arm area and throughout the spine. The various complaints often manifest themselves as pain, stiffness, dysfunction, or sensory disturbances. Trigger points can be resolved through brief self-treatment.

[0011] JP-10-28625 discloses a massage device in which the massage means is received by vertical belts of a belt system attached to a vehicle seat, which allows the vertical position of the massage means to be adjusted.

[0012] From US 2015 / 0032038 a muscle compression device is known that is attached to the upper body of a person in order to exert pressure compression on the muscles at a very specific point on the upper body.

[0013] A similar device is known from GB 2089217, in which a pressure part can be attached to a support, by means of which pressure is then exerted on muscles at the desired location on the upper body.

[0014] The object of the present invention is therefore to address one of the above-mentioned problems, to improve the general state of the art, or to provide an alternative to what is previously known. In particular, a solution is to be provided that enables muscle mobilization and can reduce tension and muscle stiffness.

[0015] According to the invention, a massage device according to claim 1 is proposed.

[0016] The massage device comprises a belt system and at least one massage means.

[0017] It is proposed that the belt system serve as a supporting structure. Objects can be attached to the belt system at any position, with the attachment of one or more massage devices to the belt system being provided.

[0018] The belt system comprises a first and a second vertical belt. It is therefore proposed that the belt system comprise at least two belts that are different and arranged essentially vertically. The belt system is accordingly formed from a plurality of belts. In a preferred embodiment, the belts are designed as fabric belts. The belts can also be made of another material that has sufficient tear resistance and is suitable as a supporting structure, such as leather or plastic belts.

[0019] The first and second vertical belts are spaced apart from one another and each have a first and a second end. In a preferred embodiment, the vertical belts are designed to run essentially parallel. It is therefore proposed that the two vertical belts be arranged at a spatial distance from one another, for example, parallel, and do not intersect or touch each other. The vertical belts thus serve as support elements that extend essentially in a vertical direction.

[0020] In addition, the belt system has at least one horizontal belt. The at least one horizontal belt is thus essentially horizontally oriented. The at least one horizontal belt thus serves as a support element that extends in a horizontal direction.

[0021] The horizontal belt is connected to the first vertical belt at a first connection point. Furthermore, the horizontal belt is connected to the second vertical belt at a second connection point. The horizontal belt thus connects the first and second vertical belts. It is therefore proposed that the two vertical belts and the at least one horizontal belt be mechanically connected to each other, for example, rigidly or detachably.

[0022] The belt system additionally has a first and a second fastening means for mounting the belts to an assembly object. A seat is proposed as a particularly preferred assembly object, for example a seat in a vehicle or on a chair. It is therefore proposed that at least two fastening means be part of the belt system or the massage device in order to connect the belt system to the assembly object or to fix the belt system to the object. The fastening means can also be synonymously understood as a suspension, since the fastening means are provided for suspending the massage device from the assembly object or attaching it to it. The fastening means therefore serve to fix the belts of the belt system to the assembly object.

[0023] For this purpose, the first fastening means is arranged at the respective first ends of the first and second vertical straps. The second fastening means is arranged at the respective second ends of the first and second vertical straps. It is therefore proposed that the two ends of the respective vertical straps be fastened to the mounting object, namely with the fastening means, in particular in such a way that the four end points of the vertical straps retain their positions on the mounting object and do not slip during the performance of a trigger massage. The fastening means can be part of the vertical straps or a horizontal strap.

[0024] In addition, the belt system also includes at least one massage device for trigger massage. Thus, a trigger massage device is proposed, whereby it is understood that the massage device has a shape that enables targeted massage of trigger points. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the massage device has a pebble-shaped form. The massage device forms a closed body and can therefore also be synonymously understood as a massage unit. Multiple massage devices can also be attached to the belt system, for example, three or more.

[0025] The massage device has a belt receptacle for the flat and detachable reception of a belt of the belt system. It is therefore proposed that the belt receptacle be designed such that a belt of the belt system can be inserted flatly into the belt receptacle of the massage device. Thus, for example, after the belt system has been attached to the assembly object using the fastening means, the massage devices can be attached or mounted to the belts, for example, by inserting a vertical belt flatly into the belt receptacle. Furthermore, the belt receptacle is designed such that the massage device can also be released from the inserted belt.

[0026] In one embodiment of the invention, it is proposed that the at least one massage device be detachably attached to the at least one horizontal belt by means of the belt receptacle. It is therefore proposed that the massage device(s) be attached to the at least one horizontal belt. The massage device is then detachably connected to the horizontal belt, i.e., the position of the massage device on the horizontal belt to which the massage device is attached is adjustable.

[0027] This allows the massager to be placed at any location on a strap of the harness system, allowing the massager to be adjusted to the user's individual trigger points and body characteristics, such as height and width. This provides a highly flexible and adaptable trigger massage system that can be used to effectively and individually treat trigger points.

[0028] The belt system preferably has a plurality of horizontal belts, wherein each horizontal belt is connected to the first vertical belt at a first connection point and to the second vertical belt at a second connection point, in particular in order to be able to place the at least one massage means at different massage positions. It is therefore proposed that a plurality of horizontal belts be provided, which are aligned parallel to one another, for example, and are each individually connected to the two vertical belts at a first and a second connection point. Accordingly, the belt system consisting of the vertical belts and the plurality of horizontal belts can be designed in a ladder shape. By using a plurality of horizontal belts, it is possible to attach the massage means or the massage means quickly and easily to a different location.Essentially, the massage device can be removed from a first horizontal belt and reattached to another horizontal belt at a different location. This creates a particularly easy-to-adjust trigger massage device.

[0029] The massage device preferably comprises a plurality of massage devices to provide a multi-point massage with multiple massage devices. It is therefore proposed that multiple massage devices can be attached to the straps of the belt system. For example, multiple massage devices can be attached to a horizontal belt, or multiple massage devices can be distributed across multiple horizontal belts. This advantageously allows multiple trigger points to be treated simultaneously.

[0030] Preferably, the massage device is dimensionally stable and made of a dimensionally stable material, in particular, the massage device is made of plastic. However, other dimensionally stable materials, such as wood, carbon fiber, or natural fiber materials, can also be used. "Dimensional stability" refers to the fact that the massage device retains its shape when subjected to a force that occurs during a trigger massage and acts on the massage device.

[0031] In a particularly preferred embodiment, the plastic is a biodegradable plastic, preferably a home compostable plastic.

[0032] In a preferred embodiment, the massage means has a hollow space or is hollow, with support struts preferably arranged within the hollow space to maintain the shape of the massage means when a force is applied to the massage means. This allows for material savings and a reduction in the weight of the massage means. Furthermore, the support struts help the mass retain its shape when a force is applied to the massage means, e.g., the force or force applied to the massage means during a trigger massage and acting on the massage means during normal use of the massage device.

[0033] Preferably, the at least one horizontal belt is connected to the first vertical belt at the first connection point via a detachable connecting means. Additionally or alternatively, the at least one horizontal belt is connected to the second vertical belt at the second connection point via a detachable connecting means. It is therefore proposed that the horizontal belt(s) be detachably connected to the vertical belts, so that the horizontal belts can be attached at any position between the vertical belts.

[0034] In a particularly preferred embodiment, the detachable connecting means for connecting the horizontal strap and the vertical straps is designed as a hook-and-loop fastener. For example, the horizontal straps can have a hook-and-loop strip with barbs at the two connection points to the vertical straps, and the vertical straps can have a hook-and-loop strip with loops at the corresponding connection points.

[0035] This allows the horizontal strap(s) to be connected to the vertical strap(s) at any point. This allows the vertical strap(s) to be individually adjusted to the user.

[0036] The massage device preferably has a curved upper side and a substantially flat lower side, with the belt receptacle being arranged in an area on the lower side. It is therefore proposed that the belt receptacle be arranged closer to the lower side of the massage device. This has mechanical stability advantages, and the arrangement of the belt receptacle on an underside of the massage device also increases the massage contact area on the upper side of the massage device. The curved shape of the upper side enables an effective and targeted trigger massage to be provided. In addition, the arrangement of the belt receptacle on an underside means that the straps only stand out slightly from the mounting object, so that comfortable sitting is still possible.

[0037] The belt receptacle is preferably designed as a wave-shaped belt fastening channel that is open on three sides to provide a flat insertion of a belt of the belt system into the belt fastening channel and to detachably connect the belt to the massage device. The insertion direction is the direction in which a belt is inserted into the receptacle. The wave shape of the belt fastening channel preferably extends along the insertion direction. The wave shape serves to increase the friction of the inserted belt in the belt receptacle so that the massage device does not slip when force is applied to the massage device. The three-sided open belt fastening channel makes it possible to easily attach a belt even retrospectively, after the belt system has been attached to the assembly object, by inserting the belt flatly into the three-sided open channel. In a preferred embodiment, it is proposed that the belt fastening channel has a frontally arranged, inclined belt insertion surface with respect to a horizontal axis of the massage device. Additionally or alternatively, it is proposed that the belt receptacle of the massage device has at least one laterally arranged, inclined belt insertion surface with respect to a, or the, horizontal axis of the massage device. The inclined belt insertion surfaces facilitate the insertion of the belt that is to be inserted into the channel.

[0038] The sloped surfaces serve as a guide for the strap to be inserted. The sloped surfaces provide a funnel-shaped insertion guide to make it easier to insert the strap into the strap attachment channel of the massage device.

[0039] Preferably, the massage device is equipped with a vibration device arranged in an interior region of the massage device. It is therefore proposed that the massage device be able to vibrate in order to provide particularly effective stimulation at a trigger point to be treated.

[0040] In a particularly preferred embodiment, the vibration device of the massage device has at least one rechargeable energy storage device for supplying an electrical vibration unit and a switching device for electrically connecting or disconnecting the vibration unit from the energy storage device. The electrical energy storage device can be designed, for example, as a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. The electrical vibration unit can be designed as an electric motor with an imbalance mounted on its shaft. In order to provide the option of switching the vibration on and off as desired, a switching device is also provided for connecting or disconnecting the vibration unit from the energy storage device. The switching device can be a push button or push-button, for example, on an outer side of the massage device.

[0041] Preferably, the first and, additionally or alternatively, the second fastening means are designed as length-adjustable straps. It is therefore proposed that the fastening means, which can also be part of the straps of the belt system, be adjustable in length. This allows the belt system to be adapted for fastening to mounting objects of different sizes. For example, a ladder buckle or a clamp buckle can be used to adjust the length.

[0042] Preferably, the first and second fastening means are configured with closure elements such that the first end of the first vertical strap can be releasably connected to the first end of the second vertical strap via a first closure element. It is therefore proposed that a possibility be provided to form a fastening loop by connecting the first end of the first vertical strap to the first end of the second vertical strap. This loop can then be attached, for example, to an upper region of the assembly object. In a specific example, the loop can be placed around the headrest of a seat and secured.

[0043] Additionally or alternatively, it is proposed that the second end of the first vertical strap be detachably connected to the second end of the second vertical strap via a second closure element. It is therefore proposed that a possibility be provided to form a fastening loop by connecting the second end of the first vertical strap to the second end of the second vertical strap. This loop can then be attached, for example, to a lower region of the assembly object. In another specific example, the loop can be placed around a lower region of a seat and secured.

[0044] Additionally or alternatively, it is proposed that the first end of the first or second vertical belt be connectable to the second end of the first or second vertical belt via a third closure element. It is therefore proposed that a possibility be provided to form a fastening loop by connecting the first end and the second end of a vertical belt. This loop can then be used, for example, to fasten the belt system in a rear region of the assembly object. In one specific example, the aforementioned connection forms a loop that can be placed along the back of a seat to secure the belt system.

[0045] In a particularly preferred embodiment, the closure elements are designed as snap buckles or the like.

[0046] The present invention will now be explained in more detail below by way of example using embodiments with reference to the accompanying figures, wherein the same reference numerals are used for identical or similar components: Fig. 1 schematically shows a front view of a massage device in one embodiment. Fig. 2 schematically shows a side view of a massage means in one embodiment. Fig. 3 schematically shows a front view of a massage means in one embodiment. Fig. 4 schematically shows a perspective view of a massage device in one embodiment, which is attached to an assembly object. Fig. 5 schematically shows a sectional and side view of a massage means in one embodiment with a vibration device.

[0047] Fig. 1shows a schematic front view of a massage device 100 in one embodiment. The massage device has a belt system 200, which serves as a support structure for the massage means 300. The belt system 200 has a first and a second vertical belt 210, 212. The two vertical belts 210, 212 are spaced apart and run parallel, and each have a first and a second end E1 and E2.

[0048] The belt system 200 also has four horizontal belts 220, 222, 224 and 226, which are arranged horizontally.

[0049] Each of the four horizontal chords is connected to the first vertical chord at a first connection point and to the second vertical chord at a second connection point. Figure 1Only the connection points P1 and P2 for the horizontal chord 220 are shown. Each of the horizontal chords 220, 222, 224, and 226 is therefore mechanically connected to the two vertical chords 210 and 212.

[0050] The belt system 200 also has a first and a second fastening means 230, 232 for mounting the belts to a mounting object, the mounting object not being shown in the figure. An exemplary mounting object is shown in the Figure 4 shown, namely a seat of a vehicle.

[0051] The first fastening element 230 is arranged at the respective first ends E1 of the first and second vertical straps 210, 212 and is directly connected thereto. In the embodiment shown, the fastening element 230 is part of the vertical straps 210, 212 and is designed as length-adjustable straps.

[0052] The second fastening element 232 is arranged at the respective second ends E2 of the first and second vertical straps 210, 212 and is directly connected to them. The fastening element 232 is designed as a length-adjustable strap and has closure elements 242 and 244, which are designed as snap-in buckles. The fastening element 230 has a closure element 240, which is also designed as a snap-in buckle.

[0053] The massage device 100 also has four massage means 300, 302, 304, 306 for trigger massage, wherein the massage means each have a belt receptacle for the flat and detachable reception of a belt of the belt system. The belt receptacle is in the Figure 1 not shown and is in the Figures 2 and 3 shown.

[0054] Accordingly, the Figure 1The massage device shown has a plurality of mass means 300, 302, 304, 306 and a plurality of horizontal belts, with two massage means 302 and 304 being attached to the horizontal belt 222. Only one massage means, namely the massage means 300 and 306, is attached to the vertical belts 220 and 224, respectively. The massage means are detachably connected to the vertical belts and can be connected to the belts in any desired manner. This is illustrated by a double arrow on the massage means 300 and applies accordingly to the other massage means. The massage means 300, 302, 304, and 306 can be adjusted as desired to provide an individual multi-point trigger massage.

[0055] The massage means 300, 302, 304 and 306 are pebble-shaped and made of plastic and have a curved surface, as for example in the Figure 2 or 3 shown.

[0056] As in the Figure 1As can be seen, the first and second fastening means 230 and 232 are designed with closure elements 240, 242 and 244 such that the first end E1 of the first vertical strap 210 can be detachably connected to the first end E1 of the second vertical strap 212 via the closure element 240 or the buckle 240. Thus, a fastening loop can be formed by connecting the buckle 240, with which the vertical straps 210 and 212 can be fixed to an assembly object, such as, for example, to an upper region of an assembly object, as shown in the Figure 4 shown.

[0057] In addition, the second end E2 of the first vertical strap 210 can be detachably connected to the second end E2 of the second vertical strap 212 via the closure element 242, namely via the buckle 242, wherein the buckle 242 is a second closure element. Thus, a fastening loop can be formed by connecting the buckle 242, with which the vertical straps 210 and 212 can be fixed to a lower region of an assembly object, such as, for example, to a lower region of an assembly object as shown in the Figure 4 shown.

[0058] In addition, the first end E1 of the first or second vertical strap 210 or 212 can also be connected to the second end E2 of the first or second vertical strap 210 or 212 via the closure element 244, wherein the closure element in this embodiment represents a third closure element. Thus, two fastening loops can be formed by connecting the snap buckles 240 and 244, with which the vertical straps 210 and 212 can be fixed to an assembly object. With regard to the Figure 4 , the two loops would run parallel and along the back of the mounting object. This would allow attachment to a rear area of a mounting object, such as a seat as in the Figure 4 shown.

[0059] The Figure 2 shows a side view of a massage means 300 in one embodiment, i.e. the same embodiment as in the Figure 3in a different perspective and as for example in the Figures 1 , 4 and 5 shown.

[0060] The massage means 300 has a curved upper side 308 and a substantially flat lower side 310, such that the massage means 300 is pebble-shaped. The belt receptacle 312 is arranged in an area on the lower side 310. The belt receptacle 312 is also formed with a wave-shaped belt fastening channel that is open on three sides to provide a flat insertion of a belt of the belt system into the belt fastening channel. To illustrate the flat insertion of a belt into the belt receptacle, Figure 2A horizontal belt 220 is shown in dotted lines and in section, resulting from the perspective shown. Due to the wave-shaped and three-sided open belt fastening channel, the belt 220 can be pushed into or removed from the belt receptacle 312. As the Figure 2 As can be seen, the wave shape of the belt fastening channel 314 extends along an insertion direction, which corresponds to a direction in which a belt is inserted into or pulled out of the belt fastening channel. The insertion direction is shown as a double arrow in the Figure 2Due to the wave shape, a belt inserted into the belt fastening channel 314 tilts, so that the massage device 300 is detachably connected to an inserted belt, but sufficient fixation is ensured so that the massage device does not slip during a massage application. In addition, a portion of a massage object 400 is indicated, on which the massage device rests flat against the underside 310. Due to the arrangement of the receptacle 312 on the underside of the massage device 300, the air gap d between the belt 220 and the massage object 400 is small.

[0061] The belt fastening channel 314 of the massage means 300 also has a frontally arranged oblique belt insertion surface 316 with respect to a horizontal axis of the massage means, wherein the axis is shown as a dashed line in the Figure 2In addition, the belt fastening channel 314 of the massage device 300 has two laterally arranged, inclined belt insertion surfaces 318 with respect to the horizontal axis of the massage device. These serve as an insertion aid for inserting a belt into the massage device.

[0062] The Figure 3 shows a front view of a massage device 300 as in the Figure 2 shown and on the Figure 2 is incorporated accordingly. In the view shown of the Figure 3 the laterally arranged oblique belt insertion surfaces 318 of the belt fastening channel 314 of the belt receptacle 312 are shown more clearly and the pebble shape of the massage means can be seen from a further perspective.

[0063] The Figure 4shows schematically in a perspective view a massage device 100 in one embodiment, which is attached to an assembly object 400, namely to a seat of a vehicle. The massage system is designed analogously with the elements as previously described for the Figures 1 to 3 described and referred to.

[0064] In contrast to the design of the Figure 1 are in the Figure 4 Detachable connecting means 250 are shown, which are designed as a hook-and-loop fastener. A hook-and-loop strip with loops extends along a path of the first and second vertical belts 210 and 212, respectively, with the horizontal belts 220, 222, 224 having a hook-and-loop strip with barbs at the connection points with the vertical belts 210, 212. For example, the horizontal belt 220 can be attached to any position on the two vertical belts 210, 212. This is indicated by a double arrow in the Figure 4illustrated.

[0065] The assembly object has an upper region 402, a lower region 404 and a rear region 406.

[0066] The Figure 4 illustrates how the massage device 100 is attached to the vehicle seat. With the locking elements, which were previously used for Figure 1 As described above, loops are formed which are attached to the upper region 402 and the lower region 404. Thus, the vertical straps 210 and 212 as well as the horizontal straps 220-226 are tensioned, so that the massage means 300 for support massage are releasably attached to the straps.

[0067] The Figure 5shows schematically in a sectional and side view a massage means 300 in one embodiment, which is configured to vibrate. For this purpose, the massage means is configured to vibrate with a vibration device 320 arranged in an interior region of the massage means, wherein the vibration device 320 has a rechargeable energy storage device 322 for supplying an electrical vibration unit 324 and a switching means 326 for electrically connecting or disconnecting the vibration unit 324 to the energy storage device 322. The vibration unit 324 is designed as an electric motor with an imbalance 330, which is fastened to the shaft of the electric motor. With this arrangement, a vibration operation of the massage means 300 can be switched on and off. By charging the energy storage device 322 via a charging device, which is arranged in the Figure 5Not shown, the rechargeable energy storage device, which can also be considered an accumulator, can be recharged when the charge level of the storage device has dropped. The massage device 300 also has a cavity in which support struts 328 are arranged to maintain the shape of the massage device when a force is applied. List of reference symbols
