Described are controlled, time-release microparticulate active and bioactive compositions (including perfuming compositions) for targeted delivery to surfaces such as skin, hair and fabric and the environment proximate thereto, where the active and bioactive materials have a calculated log10P values of between 1 and 8 (P being the n-octanol-water partition coefficient). Such compositions include the active or bioactive material in single phase, solid solution in a wax or polymer matrix also having coated thereon and/or containing a compatible surfactant. Also described are processes and apparatus for preparing such compositions and processes for using same. The present invention provides stable aerosol cream mousse composition, preferably hair care composition, that can provide enhanced touch, combability, alignment and volume reduction to the hair, with low or reduced greasy, oily hair feel, while being formulated having a thick, rich, creamy, mousse-type rheology with excellent spreading, perception of spreading, and feel. This document provides methods and materials related to hair care. For example, hair care compositions containing one or more quaternized polysiloxanes, one or more zwitterionic surfactants, one or more anionic surfactants, one or more botanical compounds, one or more amino acids, one or more vitamins, or any combination thereof as well as methods for using such hair care compositions are provided.

In brief, the present invention is directed to a method for conditioning hair which comprises: (a) applying to hair a leave-on composition comprising: (1) a nonvolatile, silicone conditioning agent; (2) a resin; and (3) a carrier; (b) applying heat via a heating appliance to the composition treated hair to dry or style the hair and wherein a reduction in the bending modulus caused by the silicone conditioning agent is at least 1.00%, even when offset by an increase in bending modulus caused by the presence of a resin, and wherein the method of the invention results in the deposition on the hair of at least 30 ug silicone/1 g of hair.

The invention concerns to a method and composition for improving the drying time of hair, for example, after bathing, shampooing, swimming, and the like by impregnating it with a particular amino functional silicon derivative. A shampoo composition is disclosed that has from about 5 to about 40 weight % of one or more detersive surfactants and an aqueous carrier comprising water and one or more polyols, wherein the weight ratio of one or more polyols to water is higher than or equal to about 0.4, and the water content is higher than or equal to about 9% by weight of the composition. The composition delivers thorough hair cleansing, good lather, good conditioning wet feel, clean rinse feel during use, leaving hair with very low residue on the hair surface. The pre-aerated concentrated hair care composition includes one or more silicones, perfume, and from about 2% to about 10% high melting point fatty compounds.
