Description

[0001] The invention relates to an actuating device for a lock with a lock nut and a locking system for mounting on a door leaf with one of such actuating devices.

[0002] Documents US 2019 / 136581 A1 and CN 106 121 379 A show, for example, an actuating device for a lock with a lock nut and a corresponding locking system in accordance with the state of the art.

[0003] It is common practice to use handles designed as door handles to operate a door lock. These handles are positioned on both large surfaces of the door and connected to each other via a spindle. The handles are fixed to the spindle so that they rotate synchronously when one handle is operated. The spindle engages a lock follower of a mortise lock, which is inserted into a corresponding lock receptacle in the door leaf. The lock follower is a polygonal receptacle with which the spindle engages in a form-fit and force-fit manner. The spindle is typically square, so the lock follower forms a square receptacle. Particularly with doors to sanitary rooms, such as bathrooms or toilets, it may be necessary to secure the room from the inside. Various locking mechanisms are known for this purpose. For example, a lock can be used that has a bolt which can be operated with a key. The emergency release mechanism allows the door to be opened in an emergency.

[0004] The invention is based on the objective of creating an actuating device for a lock that is safe and easy to operate.

[0005] This problem is solved according to the invention by the actuating device with the features of claim 1.

[0006] According to the invention, an actuating device for a lock with a lock follower is proposed, comprising a polygonal pin having a first end region on which a first handle is arranged and a second end region on which a second handle is arranged. The polygonal pin is multi-part and comprises a base pin and a slide, which includes an actuating element that is arranged on the first handle and is manually operable, and which is adjustable relative to the base pin parallel to the axis of the polygonal pin between an engagement position in which it can be brought into engagement with the lock follower and a locking position in which the polygonal pin can be rotated relative to the lock follower or in which the polygonal pin can be locked with respect to rotation about its axis. The slider interacts with an emergency release device on the side of the second handle, the emergency release device comprising a pressurised release means that can be displaced within the second handle for axial displacement of the slider into the engagement position.

[0007] The slide of the actuating device according to the invention thus establishes the positive engagement between the polygonal pin and the lock nut. If actuation of the lock nut by means of a handle is to be prevented, the slide can be disengaged from the lock nut. This corresponds to the locking position of the slide, in which, on the one hand, the polygonal pin can be rotated relative to the lock nut, so that when one of the handles is actuated via the polygonal pin, no torque can be transmitted into the lock nut, or, on the other hand, the polygonal pin can be locked with respect to rotation about its axis, so that when one of the handles is actuated via the polygonal pin, no torque can be transmitted into the lock nut.

[0008] The emergency release mechanism allows a door to be opened in an emergency, even if the slide is initially in its locked position and the lock cylinder cannot be operated using the second handle. "Movable" can be understood as "shiftable." "Movement" can refer to a shifting or displacement. The multi-sided spindle can be designed as a square spindle.

[0009] Preferably, the slide valve is formed in one piece. Preferably, the slide valve is formed in multiple parts, particularly two parts. Most preferably, the slide valve is designed as a sliding coupling.

[0010] Preferably, the release mechanism is formed in one piece. More preferably, the release mechanism is formed in multiple parts, particularly two parts. For thick doors, a multi-part design can be advantageous to reduce the displacement. Most preferably, the release mechanism is arranged within a cylindrical recess of the second handle.

[0011] In a preferred embodiment of the actuating device according to the invention, the slide comprises an engagement section which, in the engagement position, can be brought into engagement with the lock nut, and a locking section tapered relative to the engagement section, which, in the locking position, can be rotated relative to the lock nut. To achieve the locking position, the tapered locking section is thus displaced into the lock nut, whereas, in the engagement position in which the lock nut can be actuated by means of one of the handles, the engagement section of the slide is arranged in the lock nut. Alternatively, a means can be provided which, in the locking position of the slide, is configured to block the polygonal pin from rotation about its axis.

[0012] To ensure precise positioning of the slide when adjusting between the engaged and locked positions, it is advantageous for the base pin to have a guide track for the slide. Alternatively, the guide track could be achieved through corresponding bends or similar features formed on the slide itself.

[0013] In a specific embodiment of the actuating device according to the invention, the base pin has a tapered section in which the engagement section and the locking section of the slide are arranged. Thus, the effective area of the slide is always located within a defined region of the base pin.

[0014] In order to be able to move the slider between its end positions, i.e., between the locked position and the engaged position, it comprises, according to the invention, an actuating element which is arranged on the first handle and can be operated manually. The first handle is therefore preferably the handle which is arranged on the door side that points towards the room to be secured.

[0015] For example, the actuating element is a pin that preferably has a radial orientation with respect to the axis of rotation of the polygonal pin, is guided in an elongated hole of the first handle, and extends through a wall of the handle. However, it is also conceivable that the actuating element protrudes from the end face of the first handle and can be manually grasped by a user.

[0016] In a preferred embodiment of the actuating device according to the invention, the slide on the side of the second handle interacts with the emergency release device. This ensures that a door can be opened in an emergency, even if the slide initially assumes its locked position and actuation of the lock cylinder using the second handle is not possible.

[0017] In a particular embodiment of the actuating device according to the invention, the actuating device comprises an adapter piece, wherein the second handle is rotationally fixed to the adapter piece, and the emergency release device comprises a spring element, wherein the spring element is arranged within the second handle, and wherein a first end of the spring element rests against the release element and a second end of the spring element rests against a support surface of the adapter piece. Preferably, the spring element is a coil spring or a rubber, in particular industrial rubber, such as Fibroflex®. Alternatively, a spring-magnet system can be arranged within the second handle as the spring element. Preferably, the spring element is arranged within the cylindrical recess of the second handle.

[0018] In a further embodiment of the actuating device according to the invention, the actuating device comprises a rosette, wherein the adapter piece is rotatably mounted in the rosette. In other words, the second handle is rotatably connected to the rosette.

[0019] In a preferred embodiment, the base pin and the slide are guided at least partially through the support surface in their axial longitudinal extension. Preferably, the base pin and the slide are guided at least partially through the spring element in their axial longitudinal extension, preferably through a cavity formed by the spring element. "Guiding" can also be understood as penetration.

[0020] In another preferred embodiment, the slider is secured to the base pin in the axial direction. In a still further preferred embodiment, the slider rests against the end face of the base pin in the engaged position.

[0021] The slide can include a stop for the release mechanism on the end face facing the emergency release device. This makes it possible to displace or move the slide as a result of actuation of the release mechanism.

[0022] In a particularly preferred embodiment, the release means has a tool projection, wherein the second handle includes an opening for receiving a tool in the tool projection. The release means can be easily repositioned or moved by means of the tool.

[0023] In a particularly preferred embodiment, the unlocking means is configured to move the slide into the engagement position. For this purpose, the unlocking means can strike the stop of the slide in order to move the slide into the engagement position.

[0024] In a specific embodiment, the slide has a raised edge, an indentation, or a projecting section to limit the insertion depth into the lock follower. This section is located on one side of the slide opposite the base pin. This allows for simple determination of the insertion depth of the slide. To limit the insertion depth, the raised edge, indentation, or projecting section can contact the lock follower when the slide is inserted into the follower.

[0025] The invention also relates to a locking system for mounting on a door leaf, comprising a lock with a lock follower and an actuating device of the type described above. The polygonal pin of the actuating device extends through the lock follower, wherein the slider is displaceable or relocatable relative to the base pin parallel to the axis of the polygonal pin such that, in the engaged position, it engages with the lock follower and, in the locked position, is rotatable relative to the lock follower or can be locked with respect to rotation about its axis.

[0026] Further advantages and advantageous embodiments of the subject matter of the invention can be found in the description, the drawing and the claims.

[0027] An exemplary embodiment of a locking system according to the invention is shown schematically simplified in the drawing and is explained in more detail in the following description. It shows: Figure 1 is a perspective view of a door leaf with a lock, an operating mechanism for the lock, and an emergency release mechanism in exploded view; Figure 2 is a top view of a base pin of a polygonal pin of the operating mechanism; Figure 3 is a longitudinal section through the base pin along line II. Figure 2 Figure 4 shows a section through the base pin along line II-II in Figure 3 Figure 5 shows a top view of a slide of the polygonal pin; Figure 6 shows a longitudinal section through the slide along line III-III in Figure 5 Figure 7 shows a section through the slider along line IV-IV in Figure 6 Figure 8 shows a section through the slider along line VV in Figure 6Figure 9 shows a section through the door leaf with the lock, the actuating device for the lock and an emergency release device in the assembled state; Figure 10 shows a further section through the door leaf with the lock, the actuating device for the lock and an emergency release device in the assembled state; Figure 11 shows a top view of a first handle of the lock system.

[0028] In Figure 1 A door leaf 10 is shown, which is equipped with a lock system 12 shown in exploded view. The lock system 12 comprises a mortise lock 14, which is inserted into a recess 16 of the door leaf 10, formed on one longitudinal edge of the door leaf 10. The mortise lock 14 has a lock follower 18, which forms a square receptacle and is accessible via recesses 20 formed on the two large surfaces of the door leaf 10.

[0029] The locking system 12 comprises an operating device 22, which has a first handle 24 attached to the large surface of the door leaf 10 facing the room to be locked, and a second handle 26 attached to the large surface of the door leaf 10 facing away from the room to be locked. The operating device 22 includes an adapter piece 61, wherein the second handle 26 is rotationally fixed to the adapter piece 61. Furthermore, a rosette 25 is arranged between the door leaf 10 and the second handle 26, wherein the adapter piece 61 is rotatably mounted in the rosette 25.

[0030] The first handle 24 is attached to a first end region of a polygonal pin 28 and thus connected to it in a rotationally fixed manner. The second handle 26 is attached to a second end region of the polygonal pin 28 and thus also connected to it in a rotationally fixed manner. The polygonal pin 28 serves to transmit the adjusting forces applied to the handles 24 and 26 to the lock follower 18, so that actuation of the handles 24 and 26 results in the actuation of a latch 30 of the mortise lock 14.

[0031] The multi-sided pin 28, which passes through the lock nut 18, is multi-part and includes a base pin 32 which is inserted into the Figures 2 to 4 is shown in isolation, and a slider 34, which is in the Figures 5 to 8The slide 34 is shown in isolation. It rests on the top of the base pin 32 and is guided in guide tracks 36 of the base pin 32 such that it is displaceable relative to the base pin 32 parallel to the axis of rotation of the polygonal pin 28. For guidance in the guide tracks 36 of the base pin 32, the slide 34 has two strip-like guide sections 38 and 40, between which an active section 42 is arranged. The active section 42 comprises a locking section 44 and an engagement section 46.

[0032] As in the Figures 5 and 6 As shown, the slide 34 has a raised edge or embossing 33 to limit the insertion depth into the lock follower 18. The raised edge or embossing 33 is located on one side of the slide 34 opposite the base pin 32. To limit the insertion depth, the raised edge or embossing 33 contacts the lock follower 18 when the slide 34 is inserted into the lock follower 18.

[0033] How Figure 8 As can be seen, the engagement section 46 has a U-shaped cross-section, the outer dimensions and angles of which correspond to the inner dimensions of the lock follower 18. When the engagement section 46 is arranged in the lock follower 18 and one of the handles 24 and 26 is actuated, the latch 30 is actuated. The locking section 44 has, as Figure 7 As can be seen, the slide 34 has an arc-shaped cross-section, the radius of which is chosen such that, when arranged in the lock nut 18 and when one of the handles 24 and 26 is actuated, it can rotate freely together with the base pin 32 without actuating the latch 30. This position of the slide 34 corresponds to the locking position, whereas the position of the slide 34 in which the engagement section 46 is arranged in the lock nut 18 corresponds to the engagement position.

[0034] To allow the slide 34 to be adjusted between the engaged position and the locked position, an actuating pin 48 is attached to the guide section 38 at one end. The actuating pin 48 can be inserted into a bore (not shown) in the slide 34 by means of a fastening element 50. A cover plate 51 is mounted on the actuating pin 48.

[0035] The actuating pin 48 has a radial orientation and passes through an elongated hole 52, which is formed on a shaft section of the handle 24 and extends parallel to the axis of the polygonal pin 28. This allows the actuating pin 48 to be manually grasped by a user. The elongated hole 52 has a length corresponding to the adjustment travel of the slide 34 between the engaged position, in which the latch 30 can be actuated, and the locked position, in which the polygonal pin 28 rotates freely in the lock follower 18 when one of the handles 24 and 26 is actuated, and the latch 30 is not actuated.

[0036] In order to be able to move the slide 34 from the side of the handle 26 from the locked position to the engaged position in an emergency situation, the actuating device 22 is provided with an emergency release device 54 which can be actuated by means of a tool, e.g. screwdriver or the like.

[0037] The slide 34 interacts with the emergency release device 54 on the side of the second handle 26. The emergency release device 54 comprises a pressurized release element 56, which is displaceable within a cylindrical recess of the second handle 26, for axially displacing the slide 34 into the engaged position.

[0038] Furthermore, the emergency release device 54 comprises a spring element 60, the spring element 60 being arranged within the cylindrical recess of the second handle 26. A first end of the spring element 60 rests against the release element 56. A second end of the spring element 60 rests against a support surface 62 of the adapter piece 61. The base pin 32 and the slide 34 are guided at least partially through the support surface 62 in their axial longitudinal extent. Furthermore, the base pin 32 and the slide 34 are guided at least partially through the spring element 60 in their axial longitudinal extent.

[0039] The slide 34 has a stop 35 on its end face facing the emergency release device 54 for the release means 56, which is located in the Figure 6 The release means 56 is shown and is manufactured integrally with the slide 34. The release means 56 has a tool projection 58, wherein the second handle 26 includes an opening 27 for receiving the tool 70 in the tool projection 58. The release means 56 is configured to move the slide 34 into the engagement position.

[0040] In the Figure 9 The emergency release device 54 is shown in a deactivated state. In the Figure 10 The emergency release device 54 has been activated. The emergency release device 54 operates with reference to the Figure 9 and 10 as described below.

[0041] Starting from the locked position of the slide 34, the tool 70 is guided through the opening 27 of the second handle and positioned or inserted into the tool projection 58 of the release means 56. As a result of a compressive force (to the left in the plane of the leaf) acting on the tool 70 in the axial direction of the tool 70, the release means 56 is displaced towards the stop 35 of the slide 34 against the spring force of the spring element 60. This displaces the slide 34 towards the first handle 24. Preferably, the slide 34 is displaced until its end face rests against the base pin 32. This displaces the engagement section 46 of the slide 34 into the lock follower 18, which, in turn, allows the latch 30 to be actuated and the door leaf 10 to be opened when the handle 26 is actuated and the multi-sided pin 28 is rotated. The slide 34 is then in the engagement position.

[0042] After the tool is removed from the actuating device 22, the pressurized release element 56 returns to its original position (to the right in the plane of the sheet). The slide 34 can then again be moved between the engaged position and the locked position by means of the actuating pin 48.

[0043] The first handle 24, as it is in Figure 11 As shown, the device has a first marking 64 and a second marking 66, which are arranged on both sides of the elongated hole 52. When the actuating pin 48 is inserted, either the first marking 64 or the second marking 66 is visible. The markings indicate whether the device is in an engaged or locked position.
