Abstract
Description
[0001] SYSTEM FOR PROCESSING VALUES OF HEALTH INDICATORS OF A PATIENT
[0002] The present invention relates to a system for processing health indicator values of at least one patient to determine for each patient a numerical score representative of the patient's general health in order to help them regain, optimize and maintain their health and to ensure and increase their well-being and longevity.
[0003] The applicant's publication WO2016110734 has already disclosed a method for evaluating a score representative of a patient's health, based on the following considerations.
[0004] Immediate access to the results of scientific research has enabled a phenomenal acceleration in the understanding of human physiology. Despite this, patients are still too often treated according to erroneous or incomplete concepts. This method relies only on recent and validated research in order to offer patients optimal care.
[0005] Health is the result of the balance between two parts of the body, the gastrointestinal system or digestive brain and the nervous system or brain.
[0006] The digestive brain must ensure energy intake, essential nutrients, vitamins, and trace elements. It must also act as a protective barrier, just like the skin, the pulmonary mucosa, and the blood-brain barrier, to prevent the entry of unwanted intruders. It communicates constantly with the brain via the enteric nervous system and through numerous hormones, lipoproteins, interleukins, and other substances, some of which are still unknown.
[0007] The digestive interface must be considered as a whole. The thousands of species of bacteria contained in an individual's digestive tract are part of it. They have lived in symbiosis with generations of individuals for thousands of years. Each individual feeds on the fruits of their metabolism. They provide approximately 50% of the essential nutrient intake for each individual. They also produce a large amount of lipoproteins, which are capable of sending information to the brain. They play a fundamental role in immune functions and especially in the production of inflammation, which can affect the entire body. The latest scientific evidence clearly demonstrates the links between intestinal flora and certain diseases, such as obesity or type 2 diabetes. It is therefore essential to ensure the quality of an individual's intestinal flora in order to preserve their health.
[0008] The intestinal mucosa, for its part, plays a true barrier role. It is made up of juxtaposed cells that are held together by tight junctions. The integrity of these connections is essential. The intestinal mucosa is the boundary between the outside and the inside of the body. It is therefore not surprising that more than half of an individual's immune defenses are located along their digestive tract. When a bacteria or foreign protein penetrates this protective layer, the immune system must take over to rid the individual of it. This can represent a considerable energy expenditure for the body. This energy will no longer be available for other functions. It is therefore essential to ensure that the intestinal cells (enterocytes) receive optimal nutrition and that nothing attacks the tight junctions.
[0009] The cerebrum is the engine, the regulator, the coordinator of all essential functions. For this brain to function well, it must be well protected by the digestive brain and, on the other hand, be constantly activated. Physical activity, movement via the stimulation of the neurons of the cerebellum, is the most important activation. Other stimuli, visual, auditory, gustatory, and tactile, also play this role.
[0010] Over the course of evolution, the brain has transformed. It is possible to distinguish different areas according to the stages of development. The primitive brain, called the nervous or reptilian system, is the most important area with regard to health. It manages essential functions and ensures the proper coordination of the different cycles that punctuate an individual's day. The other areas have regulatory actions on the reptilian brain.
[0011] Assessing the functioning of all these areas is therefore crucial if an individual wants to know their state of health. This is done thanks to new discoveries made in the field of functional neurology. It is therefore possible to stimulate or inhibit certain brain areas in order to modify their regulatory effects on the nervous system.
[0012] Moreover, the marker of cellular suffering is well known: oxidative stress.
[0013] Furthermore, doctors, like patients, are less and less available and while finding an appointment in case of illness is still manageable, planning appointments for medical follow-up is increasingly complicated.
[0014] Today, an individual has access to applications on smartphones, for example, to monitor their sporting performance and their nights of sleep, and also to a medical file from each of the doctors they consult.
[0015] The purpose of the present invention is to provide a system for processing health indicator values of at least one patient to determine for each patient a numerical score representative of the patient's general health in order to help them regain, optimize and maintain their health and to ensure and increase their well-being and longevity.
[0016] The invention relates to a system for processing values of health indicators of a patient to determine for each patient individually among a plurality of patients a numerical score representative of the general health of the patient. The system comprises a database comprising a series of values of indicators of different aspects of health calibrated according to standardized values, means for inputting a series of data of health indicators of a patient among said standardized values, a unit for storing data received by the input means and a unit for calculating a numerical score representative of the general health of a patient according to a weighting of the data values of health indicators of a patient.
[0017] Such a system results from the implementation of the method described in WO2016110734 by a generalization of the health indicator values and their groupings as well as by the weighting applied, whereas the method of WO2016110734 which will be described subsequently involves defined health indicator values and their groupings and a particular weighting. An aim of the present invention is to provide such a system which can implement the method of WO2016110734 in an easier way for calculating the health score and in particular by making the score more quickly accessible to each patient, which is particularly advantageous when the system treats a large number of patients.
[0018] Another object of the invention is to provide such a system which can implement other methods with other health indicator values and according to other weightings of the health indicator values of a patient.
[0019] According to the invention, the system comprises: a plurality of input means, each of which is associated with at least one patient; a plurality of intermediate servers, each of which is associated with the input means of one or more patients, and a master server for all the intermediate servers, the master server comprising the calculation unit. An electronic capture apparatus comprises at least one sensor associated with the input means to receive from these input means raw data of indicators of different aspects of a patient's health. Calibration means, integrated into the input means, the intermediate servers or the master server, are arranged to calibrate the raw data of the sensor according to the calibrated and standardized values of the database and to transfer the calibrated values to the storage unit which is arranged to transmit said calibrated data to the calculation unit of the master server.
[0020] Each intermediate server constitutes, with the master server, a platform for exchanging data for health scores calculated by the calculation unit of the master server. This data exchange platform is arranged to store the general health score of each patient in a display device associated with said specific input means for the patient. The calculation unit of the master server is arranged to calculate the health score of a patient instantaneously each time data of health indicators of the patient, the value of which has an influence on the calculation of said health score, is integrated into the input means, so as to automatically update the general health score of each patient stored in the display device.WO2016110734 in the name of the applicant defines its method for determining a numerical score representative of the general health of a patient based on a series of indicators related to the general state of health of the patient and stored in a database, which method can be implemented by the system of the present invention. This method comprises the following steps:.
[0021] - in an initial calibration step, a database is established from a series of indicators related to the patient's general health status, including indicators relating to oxidative stress, indicators relating to the functions of the digestive brain, indicators relating to the functions of the reptilian brain and indicators relating to the patient's physical abilities coupled with information on his general health status, each individual indicator being assigned a numerical value between 0 and 10, and then a statistical analysis of this database is carried out in such a way that:
[0022] - to establish for each of the said indicators of a patient a score, between 0 and 10, based on a measured value of the indicators of the patient's state of health in relation to reference values,
[0023] - to establish four groups made up of said indicators stored in the database, namely:
[0024] • a group of indicators relating to oxidative stress, hereinafter Group 1;
[0025] • a group of indicators relating to the functions of the digestive brain, hereinafter Group 2;
[0026] • a group of indicators relating to the functions of the reptilian brain, hereinafter Group 3; and
[0027] • a group of indicators relating to the patient's physical abilities coupled with information on his general state of health, hereinafter Group 4, and
[0028] - for the patient, a value is assigned to each group between 0 and 100, according to the scores of the patient's indicators, the value of each group being determined by the relationship 10*(the sum of the scores from 0 to 10 of each of a number N of indicators of the group of indicators taken into consideration for the calculation of the value of each group) / N,
[0029] - then we calculate, on a scale between 0 and 100, a health score S specific to the general health of the patient using the formula:
[0030] S = ( 1 '(Value Group 1) + 2*(Value Group 2) + 2*(Value Group 3) + 3*(Value Group 4) ) / 8.
[0031] The numerical score is determined on a scale of 0 to 100. The value of each group also varies from 0 to 100 while the value of each indicator varies from 0 to 10.
[0032] In a preferred embodiment of this method, the Group 1 value is determined using scores related to a digestive analysis, an oxidized LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein) value, a HOMA (homoestasis model assessment) index, a Selenium value, a Ferritin value, and a Zinc value. Group 1 allows a value to be given to oxidative stress.
[0033] Oxidative stress is the basis of many chronic diseases and is the result of highly reactive molecules, bound to oxygen, constantly damaging our most vital molecules, eventually making us sick. The paradox is that these highly reactive molecules, called free radicals, have important biological functions, intervening in particular in cellular signaling and are useful for the individual. In excess, they can also attack all the constituents of living things and promote chronic diseases such as cataracts, cancer, coronary heart disease, diabetes, kidney failure, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's... In theory, these free radicals are neutralized or taken care of by protective mechanisms of the body called antioxidants. Antioxidants appear today as the keys to longevity and our allies in the fight against modern diseases. These are protective elements that act by trapping free radicals. Oxidative stress can cause temporary or persistent physical or nervous fatigue, as well as eating disorders.
[0034] In one embodiment of the method, the Group 2 value is determined using scores related to a digestive analysis, a CRP (C-reactive protein) value, a HOMA index and an Omega 6 / Omega 3 ratio value. Group 2 makes it possible to give a value for digestive inflammation.
[0035] In one embodiment of the method, the value of Group 3 is determined using scores related to a health questionnaire, a value related to the measurement of perception time, a homocysteine value, a value of the Omega 3 index, a score related to cardiac variability parameters during the night in particular, a value of the quadratic mean of the successive differences in heart rate, a value of the LF / HF ratio (low frequency / high frequency) reflecting the overall sympathico-vagal balance, a value of the recovery index during sleep, and a value related to measurements made on the total activity of the autonomic nervous system. Group 3 makes it possible to give a value to the functioning of the brain.
[0036] In particular, the measurement of nervous system activity through heart rate variability during exercise and over 24 hours is carried out, which allows us to measure sleep quality and individual capacity to recover. This measurement is essential in patient monitoring. The further we progress in the program, the more it should improve.
[0037] In one embodiment of the method, the value of Group 4 is determined in particular using scores related to a health questionnaire, the results of which are analyzed and weighted, to an exercise test in terms of speed or power, to the measurement of cardiac amplitude, to a score related to a speed test and to the value of the quadratic mean of the successive differences in heart rate equal to or less than 10, to a somatosensory test, a visual test, a vestibular test, a ferritin value, a HOMA index, a Zinc value, a selenium value, a CRP value and an immunity questionnaire value. Group 4 makes it possible to give a value of general health. Indeed, a complete assessment, oriented towards an in-depth functional neurology examination makes it possible to determine the level of function of the nervous system as well as the control capacity of the higher cortical areas. In addition, the individual functioning and interaction of the three main sensory systems, namely peripheral, vestibular and ocular, are tested. The adaptation of the motor system, visual abilities when the head is moving and the functional abilities of the joints of the lower limbs are also assessed. Each indicator has values between 0 and 10. For example, the value of Group 1 can be determined according to the following formula: Group 1 value = . (((3*Digestive analysis value)+(3*Oxidized LDL value)+2*(Zinc value + Selenium value) + HOMA index value + Ferritin value)*10) / 12.
[0038] The value of Group 2 can be determined according to the following formula: Group z value = (((5*CRP value)+(3*Digestive analysis value)+2*(Omega6 / Omega3 value)+ HOMA index value)*10) / 1 1 .
[0039] The value of group 3 can be determined according to the following formula: Group 3 value =^(((3*Health questionnaire value)+(4*Perception time measurement value)+(5*Autonomic nervous system measurement value)+(3*Nighttime heart rate variability parameter value HF)+(3*Nighttime heart rate variability parameter value LF)+(3*Mean squared value of successive heart rate differences)+(2*Homocysteine value)+(LF / HF ratio value)+Omega 3 index value+Sleep recovery index value)*10) / 26.
[0040] Finally, the value of Group 4 can be determined according to the following formula: Group 4 Value = (((3*Health questionnaire value)+(5*Speed stress test value)+(5*Power stress test value)+(4*Heart rate value)+(4*Speed test value and a value of the quadratic mean of the successive differences in heart rate)+(2*Somasthetic test value)+(2*Visual test value)+(3*Vestibular test value)+(2*Ferritin value)+Homa index value +Zinc value +Selenium value + (4*CRP value) +(2*Immunity test value))*10) / 39.
[0041] In summary, the method of WO2016110734 makes it possible to determine a numerical score representative of the general health of a patient according to a weighting of the values of health indicators of a patient.
[0042] To perform the method described in WO2016110734, the calculation unit calculates a score stored in a storage unit accessible from the master server, the intermediate server or the electronic capture device.
[0043] In one embodiment of the invention, each of the input means comprises a keyboard for manual data entry as well as an input for computerized data.
[0044] In this implementation, each intermediate server and the computing unit process the data of each patient separately.
[0045] Still according to this embodiment, each of said input means comprises a device for storing and displaying the general health score of each patient.
[0046] In one embodiment, the computing unit is configured to calculate the health score based on at least three and preferably at least four parameters representing different health indicator values.
[0047] According to this embodiment, the computing unit is configured to calculate the health score according to weighted values of four groups of parameters, representing different values of health indicators corresponding respectively to indicators of oxidative stress, digestive brain functions, reptilian brain functions and the general health of a patient.
[0048] Still according to this form of execution, the calculation unit is configured to calculate the health score taking into account the values of the cardiac amplitude, the perception time and the omega 3 index.
[0049] In one embodiment, the electronic input means capture device is a smartphone, a smart watch and / or a heart rate monitor.
[0050] In another embodiment, the input means with the electronic capture device with the intermediate server are grouped in a single device or are integrated in several devices grouped at the same location, in principle at the attending physician's office.
[0051] Thus, the system according to the invention will have as many input means, each with an intermediate server, as there are doctors, each doctor taking care of one or more patients.
[0052] The characteristics of the present invention will appear more clearly on reading several embodiments given solely by way of example, in no way limiting, with reference to the schematic figure, in which: Figure 1 represents a schematic view of a part of the system illustrating the monitoring of a patient through his smartphone, an intermediate server and a master server; and
[0053] - Figure 2 represents a schematic view of a system illustrating the monitoring of five patients, each through their smartphone, two intermediate servers and a master server;
[0054] Figure 1 illustrates part of a system for processing values of health indicators of a patient to determine for this patient a numerical score representative of his general health. The system comprises a database 1 comprising a series of values of health indicators calibrated according to standardized values, input means 2A, 2B, 2C of a series of data of health indicators of a patient among said standardized values, a storage unit 3A, 3B of data received by the input means 2A, 2B, 2C and a calculation unit 4 of a numerical score representative of the general health of a patient according to a weighting of the values of health indicators of a patient.
[0055] In this example, database 1 and storage unit 3A are located in a master server 8 where computing unit 4 is located.
[0056] In this example, the input means 2C comprise a smartphone 5 comprising a sensor 6 arranged to receive raw health indicator data from the patient and to calibrate, using electronic components, this raw data according to the standardized values of the database.
[0057] In this embodiment, the smartphone 5 is connected to a smartwatch 9 and a heart rate belt 10.
[0058] The storage unit 3B is integrated into an intermediate server 7 and on the other hand the storage unit 3A is integrated into the master server 8 while the calculation unit 4 is entirely in the master server 8.
[0059] Database 1 contains, for example, a group of indicators relating to oxidative stress relating to the functions of the digestive brain, relating to the functions of the reptilian brain, and relating to the physical abilities of the patient coupled with information on his general state of health, quantified according to the indications of WO2016110734.
[0060] The different input means 2A, 2B, 2C correspond either to the keyboard of the master server 8, or to the keyboard of the intermediate server 7 or to the keyboard of a smartphone 5. These different input means are arranged to enter raw values of all the health indicators according to the groups stored in the database 1. For example, the data entered through the smartphone 5 or the intermediate server 7 are calibrated by the master server 8 which instantly returns the health score. In another example, the data entered are automatically calibrated at the smartphone 5 or the intermediate server 7 and transferred to the master server 8 in order to calculate a health score.
[0061] In the example illustrated in Figure 2, each intermediate server 7 is managed by each doctor who can thus follow the progress of each of his patients. The intermediate server 7 communicates with the master server 8 constituting with each intermediate server 7 a platform for exchanging data of health scores calculated by the calculation unit 4 and for storing the general health score of each in a storage and display means associated with said specific input means for the patient, normally in the intermediate server 7 which transmits the score to the smartphone 5.
[0062] The unit 4 for calculating a numerical score representative of the general health of a patient is arranged to calculate the health score of a patient instantaneously at each manual or automatic integration into the input means 2A, 2B, 2C of data of a value of a health indicator influencing said health score. In this way, the general health score of each patient, stored on the one hand in the data exchange platform and on the other hand in the storage and display means associated with the specific input means for the patient, is automatically updated.
[0063] Indeed, for example, for each sporting activity, the patient's smartphone 5, connected as illustrated in figure 1 to a connected watch 9 and to a heart rate belt 10, records the data influencing the health score, and transmits them to the intermediate server 7 which itself transmits them to the master server 8. Thus, the patient's health score is automatically updated by the calculation unit 4 located in the master server 8.
[0064] The computing unit 4 in the master server 8 may for example comprise a computer module programmed to calculate a numerical score representative of the general health of a patient according to a weighting of the values of health indicators of a patient, for example, according to the algorithm described in the publication WO201611734.
[0065] In the same way, when the doctor enters on the keyboard 2B of the intermediate server 7 values influencing the health score of a patient, in particular in the context of blood test results, the calculation unit 4 in the master server 8 immediately recalculates the health score of the patient and the patient can instantly view his new health score, for example on his smartphone 5.
[0066] A phone application allows the patient to access their health score and track its progress over time, by day, week or month.
[0067] The measured values of the indicators make it possible to establish a score for each of the said indicators based on the measured value compared to reference values.
[0068] To carry out the method described in WO2016110734, values corresponding to each of the four groups consisting of said indicators are entered into the input means 2A, 2B, 2C, each said group representing information corresponding respectively to oxidative stress, hereinafter group 1; to the functions of the gastrointestinal system, hereinafter group 2; to the functions of the nervous system, hereinafter group 3; and to the physical abilities of the patient coupled with information on his general state of health, hereinafter group 4.
[0069] Finally, the computing unit 4, located in the master server 8, calculates by a computerized algorithm a health score S specific to the patient, on a scale from 0 to 100, using the formula
[0070] S = £ (Group 1 Value + (2* Group 2 Value) + (2* Group 3 Value) + (3 Group 4 Value) / (2* Number of Groups). For example, a patient whose Group 1 value is 49.17, Group 2 value is 47.27, Group 3 value is 86.92 and Group 4 value is 99.12 would have a health score of S=76.86.
[0071] In this example, the closer the health score value is to 100, the healthier the patient is.
[0072] Figure 2 illustrates a system for processing health indicator values of five patients to determine for each patient a numerical score representative of general health. Referring also to Figure 1, the system comprises a database 1 in the master server 8 and also in the intermediate server 7. This database stores a series of health indicator values calibrated according to standardized values. Each intermediate server 7 is associated with the smartphone 5 of each patient constituting means for inputting a series of health indicator data of each patient among the standardized values. The system also comprises a storage unit 3B in the intermediate server 7 and 3A in the master server 8, for storing data received by the input means 2A, 2B, 2C and a calculation unit 4 in the master server 8 of a numerical score representative of the general health according to a weighting of the health indicator values.
[0073] In this example, the input means comprise a smartphone 5 for each patient, i.e. five smartphones 5 each comprising a sensor 6 arranged to receive raw health indicator data from each patient and to calibrate (either in the smartphone 5 or in the intermediate server 7) this raw data according to the standardized values of the database.
[0074] The storage unit is integrated into each smartphone 5, into each of the two intermediate servers 7 and into the master server 8, the two intermediate servers 7 and the master server 8 receiving by a means of communication the data calibrated according to the standardized values of the database.
[0075] In this example, the first intermediate server 7 allows two patients to be monitored and the second intermediate server 7 allows three patients to be monitored. Thus, each doctor can monitor the progress of each of his patients. Each intermediate server 7 communicates with the master server 8 constituting a platform for exchanging health score data calculated by the calculation unit 4 and for storing the general health score of each patient in a location associated with said specific input means for the patient, i.e. in the smartphones 5.
[0076] The unit 4 for calculating a numerical score representative of the general health of a patient is arranged to calculate the health score of a patient instantaneously upon each integration, manual or automatic, of data of a value of a health indicator influencing said health score, so that the general health score of each patient, stored in the data exchange platform and in the smartphone 5 constituting a storage / display device associated with said specific input means for the patient, is automatically updated by the master server 8.
[0077] Indeed, for example, for each sporting activity, the smartphone 5 of each patient records the data influencing the health score, and transmits them to the storage unit 3A, 3B which transmits them to the master server 8. Thus, the patient's health score is automatically updated by the master server 8.
[0078] In the same way, when each of the two doctors enters values influencing the health score on the keyboard 2B of the intermediate server 7, particularly in the context of blood test results, each patient can instantly view their new health score.
[0079] For example, a four-month period allows for significant changes to be established that have a real impact on health. It is only after this period that improvements in blood tests and sleep quality, the best indicator of the patient's reptilian brain function, will be visible. Comparative analysis of pre- and post-program assessments will demonstrate the improvement in the patient's health score.
