Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a door hinge with at least one articulated arm and at least one adjustable hinge part, wherein the hinge part has a holding section for the articulated arm and at least one adjoining fastening section, as well as at least one receptacle for a fastening means on the fastening section, and is adjustable relative to the fastening means, and having a cover arranged on the fastening section. The invention also relates to a door with at least one such door hinge.
[0002] The invention relates to door hinges which are usually fastened to a door frame and a door leaf using screws as fastening means and which are adjustable in at least one direction within the scope of the invention.
[0003] To conceal the fastening screws and / or adjustment elements of the door hinge, covers, particularly flat or substantially flat cover plates, are typically used, which are also preferred within the scope of the invention. Such covers conceal the underlying screws, adjustment elements, and other structures of the associated hinge section, resulting in a uniform, high-quality appearance. Furthermore, the concealed elements are at least to a certain extent protected against dirt, improper operation, and vandalism.
[0004] For door hinges of the Tectus ®< door hinge system from Simonswerk GmbH, two cover plates are placed and screwed tight onto a first hinge section and a second hinge section, which are connected to one another via an arrangement of articulated arms (see "Manual 2018 / 2019, page 45 ff. of Simonswerk GmbH and www.simonswerk.com). After removing the associated fastening screw, the cover plate can be removed, exposing the fastening screws and / or adjustment devices underneath. Arranging the cover plate with a fastening screw on the associated hinge section does not achieve a completely flat, closed surface. Furthermore, the fastening screw, which is designed as a countersunk head screw, should be flush with the front of the cover, so that the sheet metal cover has a countersunk hole in the corresponding hole. In order to attach the countersunk hole, the cover orCover plate must have a sufficient thickness of, for example, 1.5 mm.
[0005] Furthermore, it is also known to provide cover plates with lateral projections for then placing them on associated fastening sections. Corresponding designs are known, for example, from EP 3 173 560 A1. Furthermore, a magnetic fastening can also be provided, although suitable materials must be selected for the cover and the fastening section. Corresponding designs are known, for example, from DE 20 2008 004 509 U1.
[0006] DE 10 2020 108 107 B3 discloses a cover that can be arranged without tools, wherein the cover is held on the fastening section by an elastomeric plastic element having at least one first, microstructured, reversibly adhering surface.
[0007] Within the scope of the invention, the door hinge is adjustable in at least one direction. Against this background, designs are known in which the fastening section for the hinge part is fixed to the door or door frame. In this case, movable elements such as inserts are provided opposite this fastening section, which is fixed relative to the door or door frame. These elements support the at least one articulated arm and are adjustable relative to the hinge part. Such designs are characterized by a high degree of comfort, but also by a certain degree of manufacturing complexity.
[0008] Furthermore, it is known that, for example, to achieve a height adjustment, the at least one fastening section can be adjustable relative to the at least one fastening means. The fastening section can, for example, have an elongated hole, whereby, with the fastening means in the form of a screw loosened, adjustment is then possible along the elongated hole in a particularly simple manner. To achieve the vertical adjustment, no separate, movable parts are then necessary.
[0009] An adhesively or magnetically fixed cover can be fitted after a height adjustment, whereby the relative position to the mounting section then changes with a different height adjustment. However, there is a fundamental risk of slippage or inaccurate positioning, which can result in an external gap between the cover and a milled recess for the hinge part. Such a gap can impair the visual appearance and also poses a risk of contamination.
[0010] The present invention is based on the object of providing a door hinge with a cover on a fastening section, which can be manufactured particularly easily and has a particularly simple handling.
[0011] The subject matter of the invention and the solution to the problem are a door hinge according to claim 1 and a door according to claim 15.
[0012] The invention thus relates to a door hinge with at least one articulated arm, with at least one adjustable hinge part, wherein the hinge part has a holding section for the articulated arm and at least one adjoining fastening section, as well as at least one receptacle for a fastening means on the fastening section, and is adjustable relative to the fastening means, and with a cover arranged on the fastening section. The door hinge is characterized in that the cover is fixed to the at least one fastening means.
[0013] The invention relates to a door hinge design in which the fastening section also changes its position upon adjustment. If the cover is then intended to be secured exclusively to the fastening section, the cover's position would also change. Accordingly, lateral gaps or free spaces would then result upon adjustment.
[0014] According to the invention, however, it is provided that the cover, in the assembled state, is fixed to the at least one fastening means, so that the precise position of the cover is predetermined by the at least one fastening means. The fixation refers to the correct positioning relative to the structure in the form of a door leaf and a door frame to which the hinge part is attached. As described further below, the cover can also be additionally fastened to the holding section, although such an additional fastening is then movable or allows for arrangement in different positions.
[0015] According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the fastening means is a screw, with the cover being fixed to a head of the screw. For this purpose, the head of the screw can have a drive recess, with the cover having a projection for fixing to the drive recess.
[0016] The position of the screws as fastening elements also determines the position of the cover. As previously explained, the fixation of the cover to the fastening element refers to its correct positioning. The cover does not have to be held solely by the projection that engages the drive recess. This projection can also cooperate with other guide recesses or similar elements to hold it in place.
[0017] If such additional elements are provided, the projection can be provided with a certain undersize compared to the associated drive formation in order to enable a clamp-free arrangement and to compensate for certain dimensional deviations.
[0018] Alternatively, it is also possible for the projection to be made to size or with a certain oversize with respect to the drive design.
[0019] Typical and suitable drive designs can be designed, for example, as Phillips, hexagon socket, or hexalobular socket (Torx ®< ). It is understood that the projection should also be adjustable regardless of the screw's rotational position, which is why the projection is preferably circular-cylindrical or has a circular-cylindrical outer shape. With a suitable size, this ensures that the described drive designs achieve a centric and, if necessary, clamping arrangement.
[0020] The projection can have a bevel at its front end or be slightly conical overall to achieve a certain clamping effect and / or centering. The length of the projection is preferably approximately equal to the depth of the drive recess and can, for example, be between 0.5 mm and 4 mm.
[0021] In the case of a cylindrical design, the projection can also be designed as a hollow cylinder, so that it can then be more easily deformed for a clamping fixation.
[0022] In this context, the cover is preferably made of plastic, which allows for not only good functional properties but also comparatively easy production. Manufacturing is possible, for example, by plastic injection molding, which also allows for cost-effective mass production.
[0023] The visible outer side of the mounted cover can be provided with a paint finish, another coating or other material layer.
[0024] The receptacle for the at least one fastening means, preferably designed as a screw, can be configured, for example, as an elongated hole, wherein the elongated hole then allows for different positioning due to its extension. In particular, it can be provided that the hinge part can be moved along the elongated hole when the fastening means is released, in particular along a vertical direction relative to the assembled state. By providing an elongated hole with the possibility of moving the hinge part, a particularly simple adjustment option is achieved, which also enables particularly cost-effective production.
[0025] The present invention is particularly intended for door hinges designed for installation on the narrow side of a door leaf and / or on the reveal side of a door frame. The invention thus particularly relates to concealed door hinges, which are also known from the prior art cited above. However, the invention is not limited to such embodiments.
[0026] According to the usual, preferred design, the hinge part has two fastening sections with the retaining section arranged between them. If the door hinge has a hinge part on each of its two sides, then both hinge parts are preferably designed accordingly, for which reference is also made to the prior art cited above.
[0027] In principle, it may be sufficient if the fastening section or each fastening section is provided with a fastening element, so that preferably exactly one receptacle is provided for this purpose on the fastening section(s). Alternatively, it is also possible to provide several, in particular two, receptacles for each fastening element, in which case a corresponding number of fastening elements is also expediently used. More than two fastening elements per fastening section are generally not necessary, although this would also result in significantly increased assembly effort.
[0028] According to the invention, the cover is fixed to the at least one fastening element, with this fixation serving to ensure spatial alignment. It is possible for the cover to be held entirely on the fastening means. However, according to a preferred embodiment, additional support is provided between the cover and the associated fastening section, thus ensuring good overall retention.
[0029] According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the cover in this context has a pair of guide formations which encompass the fastening section, wherein the fastening section is movable against the guide formation along the adjustment direction.
[0030] In particular, it can be provided that the cover with the guide formations is held in a form-fitting manner on the fastening section, wherein the fastening section can also have recesses, grooves or the like which extend along the adjustment direction in order to accommodate the guide formations or parts of the guide formations.
[0031] As already explained above, according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the door hinge comprises the previously described hinge part and a second hinge part, which may also have a cover. The cover can be designed as before, but the adjustment along the vertical direction described above as preferred is usually only necessary on one of the two hinge parts. In this context, the other cover can also be formed without a projection, for example, only with lateral guide formations, if no relative movement occurs between the cover and the associated fastening section during an adjustment.
[0032] The band part(s) may be made entirely or partially from injection-molded metal.
[0033] The invention also relates to a door with a door frame, a door leaf and at least one door hinge according to one of claims 1 to 15.
[0034] In particular, it is provided that the door leaf is supported by two hinges, which are designed as described above. In particular, it is then provided that the door leaf, with the hinges, is vertically adjustable relative to the door frame.
[0035] For example, the door hinges can each be supported on the door frame via a mounting plate attached to the back of the frame. This type of mounting plate offers the advantage of precisely defining the position of the screws used as fastening elements, with screws, particularly those with a metric thread, being accommodated in an internal thread of the mounting plate.
[0036] In contrast to wood screws, this generally ensures that the screws are aligned exactly straight, and thus the position of the respective screw heads is specified in advance with great precision. This is precisely what makes it possible to position the cover in the correct position.
[0037] The invention is explained below with reference to the drawings. They show: Fig. 1 a section of a door with a door leaf and a door frame connected by a door hinge, Fig. 2 the arrangement according to the Fig. 1 with partially removed covers, Fig. 3 a vertical section through the arrangement according to the Fig. 1 , Fig. 4 a section of a hinge part of the door hinge, Fig. 5 a cover in a view from below, Fig. 6 a sectional view of the hinge part with the cover arranged thereon in a detailed section, Fig. 7 the arrangement according to the Fig. 1 from an opposite perspective.
[0038] The Fig. 1 shows a door with a door frame 1, a door leaf 2 and a door hinge 3 visible in the section shown. Overall, the door leaf 2 is supported on the door frame 1 with two door hinges 3.
[0039] The door hinge 3 comprises a frame-side hinge part 4 and a second, leaf-side hinge part 5. The hinge parts 4, 5 are connected by two articulated arms 6, which are coupled to one another around a hinge axis 7. Furthermore, the two articulated arms 6 are each rotatably and longitudinally movable at one end and are only rotatably mounted at the other end. Corresponding designs are known to those skilled in the art; reference is also made to the prior art cited at the beginning.
[0040] According to the Fig. 1 Each band part 4, 5 has two covers 8, 8', wherein in the Fig. 2 on both band parts 4, 5 one of the covers 8, 8' is removed.
[0041] As in the Fig. 2 As can be seen, the frame-side hinge part 4 has end-side fastening sections 9 along a vertical direction z and a central holding section 10 therebetween. The holding section 10 has inserts 11 which support the articulated arms 6.
[0042] The inserts 11 are fastened to the holding section 10 on a base body of the frame-side hinge part 4, which also forms the two fastening sections 9 as a one-piece part. The entire base body is fastened to the frame side with two screws 12, wherein according to the Fig. 1 one of the screws 12 of the frame-side hinge part 4 is still covered by one of the covers 8.
[0043] Already in the Fig. 2 It can be seen that the exposed fastening section 9 has a slotted hole 13 running along the vertical direction z as a receptacle for the screw 12 provided there. Fig. 2 The lower fastening section 9 concealed by the cover 8 is designed accordingly.
[0044] When the screws 12 are loosened, i.e., not tightened, the frame-side hinge part 4 can be adjusted along the vertical direction z, thus enabling vertical adjustment in a particularly simple manner. With regard to the base body described above, a multi-part design is therefore not necessary for vertical adjustment.
[0045] It is clear that in the door frame 1, the cutout 14 provided for the frame-side hinge part 4 extends over a greater height than the frame-side hinge part 4 itself in order to enable the described adjustment within the cutout 14. In the Fig. 2 In this context, a gap is visible above the upper fastening section 9.
[0046] As in the Fig. 2 As can be seen in the lower fastening section 9, the cover 8 - regardless of the vertical alignment of the base body or the fastening sections 9 of the frame-side hinge part 4 - should connect to the adjacent material of the door frame 1 without a visible lateral gap.
[0047] It should be noted that the base body is moved relative to the screws 12 during an adjustment, whereby the screws 12 are in turn arranged at a fixed, defined location relative to the milling 14.
[0048] Against this background, within the scope of the invention according to the Fig. 3 It is provided that at least in the case of the frame-side hinge part 4, which is adjustable along the vertical direction z, the covers 8 are fixed to the screws 12, thereby ensuring the correct position relative to the milled recess 14. In this context, it should be noted that at least one fixation in the sense of a correct positional arrangement is provided.
[0049] It is provided that the screws 12 have a head 15 with a drive formation, wherein the drive formation can be designed, for example, as a hexagon socket or a hexagon socket.
[0050] At least on the frame-side hinge part 4, the covers 8 each have a projection 16 which has a high cylindrical shape (see also below for Fig. 5 ). The projection 16 engages in the drive recess on the head 15, thereby securing it in the correct position. With a clamping fit of the projection 16 in the drive recess, it is also conceivable in principle for the entire cover 8 to be held there completely. Preferably, however, additional means are provided for securing the covers 8.
[0051] The Fig. 4 a detailed view of the fastening section 9 and the Fig. 5 A view of the cover 8 from below. In addition to the previously described projection 16, opposing guide formations 17 are provided on the underside of the cover 8, which laterally encompass the fastening section 9, wherein the guide formations 17 have a thickened portion 18 at their ends for this purpose.
[0052] According to the Fig. 6 The fastening section 9 has grooves or recesses 19 on its rear side, into which an associated thickening 18 can engage. The guide formations 17 and the fastening section 9 are movable relative to one another along the vertical direction z, so that the previously described adjustment of the frame-side hinge part 4 can take place.
[0053] The Fig. 7 shows the arrangement according to the Fig. 1 in a view of the rear of a frame. It can also be seen that the frame-side hinge part 4 is arranged on a reveal side 20 of the door frame 1. The door leaf 2 is opened 180° and, in its closed position, rests against a step 21 of the reveal side 20 via a seal (not shown).
[0054] In the illustrated embodiment, the frame-side hinge part 4 is fastened to the rear of the frame with a fastening plate 22, whereby conventional fastening screws are not shown.
[0055] According to the Fig. 7 The frame-side hinge part 4 is connected to the mounting plate 22 with screws 12, for which purpose the mounting plate 22 has an internal thread. This has the advantage that the defined screw connection precisely specifies the position of the screws 12, so that the covers 8 can be precisely arranged on the opposite side using the respective associated head 15.
