Attachment element for a mailbox (2), comprising an element body, with at least one functional element (3) with immovable wall elements (4), which is either open at least on a frontal visible side (5) or closed on all sides, and with at least one fastening element for connection with an edge surface (6) adjoining a frontal visible side (5) of the mailbox (2).
