Description

[0001] Conductor connection terminal, operating lever and set formed from it

[0002] The invention relates to a conductor terminal comprising a housing and at least one first spring-loaded terminal arranged in the housing, which has a first clamping spring for clamping a first electrical conductor by means of spring force. The invention also relates to an actuating lever for such a conductor terminal and to a set comprising at least one conductor terminal and an actuating lever of the aforementioned type.

[0003] Conductor terminals with spring clamp connections are generally known and widely used, in particular embodiments with an integrated operating lever, e.g. the conductor terminals of the 221 series of the applicant.

[0004] The invention is based on the object of specifying a miniaturized conductor connection terminal, in particular for electrical conductors with a very small conductor cross-section.

[0005] This object is achieved in a conductor connection terminal of the type mentioned at the outset in that the housing has a first receiving contour on its outer side, onto which a pivotable actuating lever, which is designed for manual actuation of the first clamping spring, can be snapped onto the housing. The conductor connection terminal according to the invention can provide a very compact spring-loaded connection system for very small conductors, wherein the first receiving contour also makes it possible to snap a pivotable actuating lever for actuating the first clamping spring onto the housing. The actuating lever allows intuitive operation of the conductor connection terminal by the user. The actuating lever can, for example, be snapped onto the housing only when required and removed from the housing again after use, if necessary. Accordingly, no permanent space is required for the actuating lever. This, in turn, is beneficial for miniaturizing the connection system. The actuating lever can be secured by snapping onto the first receiving contour on the housing of the conductor terminal, allowing the required pivoting movement to actuate the first clamping spring.

[0006] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the actuating lever is pivotally mounted on the first receiving contour when it is latched thereto. For example, the first receiving contour itself, with a locking contour of the actuating lever latched thereto, can form a pivot bearing, through which a pivot axis for pivoting the actuating lever is formed. Alternatively or additionally, the actuating lever can have a corresponding elasticity, making it sufficiently flexible to perform the desired pivoting movement. In this case, the actuating lever can be immovably fixed to the first receiving contour, at least in the sense that it does not undergo the pivoting movement.

[0007] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the housing has a first conductor insertion opening on a first conductor insertion side, through which the first electrical conductor can be inserted to a first clamping point formed by the first clamping spring for clamping the first electrical conductor, wherein the first receiving contour is arranged on the side of the housing diametrically opposite the first conductor insertion side. At least the point of the first clamping spring, which is subjected to force by the pivotable actuating lever during manual actuation, can be located on the side of the housing facing the first conductor insertion opening or at least be arranged closer to the first conductor insertion opening than to the first receiving contour. In this case, the actuating lever thus engages over a substantial part of the housing, in particular the predominant part of the housing in the longitudinal direction. In this way, a large lever arm length can be realized even with a highly miniaturized conductor connection terminal with a relatively small housing, which is favorable for simple and ergonomic actuation of the first clamping spring.

[0008] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the housing has a first actuating opening in the region of the first clamping spring, through which the first clamping spring can be actuated by the actuating lever latched onto the first receiving contour by means of a pivoting movement of the actuating lever. The first actuating opening can be arranged on a housing side other than the first conductor insertion side, e.g., on a housing side arranged substantially at right angles to the first conductor insertion side. The first actuating opening can be designed as a comparatively small opening, so that the electrically conductive components arranged in the housing are well protected from environmental influences.

[0009] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the conductor connection terminal in the housing has a second spring-loaded terminal connection which has a second clamping spring for clamping a second electrical conductor by means of spring force, wherein the housing has a second conductor insertion opening on a second conductor insertion side through which the second electrical conductor can be inserted to a second clamping point formed by the second clamping spring for clamping the second electrical conductor, wherein the second conductor insertion side is a housing side diametrically opposite the first conductor insertion side. This particularly advantageously allows the realization of a highly miniaturized connection terminal in the sense of a through-terminal, in which the electrical conductors are inserted on opposite sides of the housing. The housing can - analogous to the first actuating opening - have a second actuating opening in the region of the second clamping spring, through which the second clamping spring can be actuated with the actuating lever latched onto a second receiving contour by means of a pivoting movement of the actuating lever. The second actuating opening can in particular be arranged on a different housing side than the second conductor insertion side, e.g. on a housing side arranged essentially at right angles to the second conductor insertion side. In particular, the first and second actuating openings can be arranged on the same housing side. The second actuating opening can be designed as a comparatively small opening so that the electrically conductive components arranged in the housing are well protected from environmental influences.

[0010] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the housing has the first receiving contour on the second conductor insertion side and a second receiving contour on the first conductor insertion side for latching the actuating lever, so that a) the same actuating lever can be latched optionally on the first or the second receiving contour or b) a first actuating lever can be latched on the first receiving contour and / or a second actuating lever can be latched on the second receiving contour.

[0011] The conductor connection terminal according to the invention is therefore particularly universally applicable.

[0012] The first spring-loaded terminal connection can have a first busbar section in addition to the first clamping spring. A clamping point for clamping the electrical conductor is then formed between the first busbar section and the first clamping spring, in particular a clamping edge of the first clamping spring. If the conductor connection terminal has the aforementioned second spring-loaded terminal connection, this second spring-loaded terminal connection can have a second busbar section in addition to the second clamping spring. A second clamping point for clamping the second electrical conductor is then formed between the second busbar section and the second clamping spring, in particular a clamping edge of the second clamping spring. In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the first busbar section is electrically connected to the second busbar section. In particular, the first busbar section can form a common, continuous busbar with the second busbar section, ie can be formed as a continuous metal part.

[0013] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the first receiving contour extends across the entire width of the housing. This makes it possible, as explained below, for an actuating lever latched onto the first receiving contour to be displaced in the width direction of the housing, for example, from one spring-loaded terminal connection to the next, or, if several housings are joined together in the width direction, from one housing to the next. The width direction of the housing, in which the housing width can be measured, is understood in particular to be a spatial direction that is arranged parallel to the pivot axis of the actuating lever.

[0014] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the conductor connection terminal has a plurality of first spring-loaded terminal connections arranged side by side in the housing in a row direction, into each of which a first electrical conductor can be inserted via a first conductor insertion opening assigned to the respective first spring-loaded terminal connection, wherein the first conductor insertion openings are arranged on the same first conductor insertion side of the housing. This makes the conductor connection terminal suitable for connecting a plurality of electrical conductors. The first spring-loaded terminal connections can be electrically separated from one another or partially or fully electrically connected to one another.

[0015] If the conductor connection terminal is designed as a feed-through terminal with the second spring-loaded terminal connection, as explained above, the conductor connection terminal can have a second spring-loaded terminal connection assigned to each first spring-loaded terminal connection.

[0016] The housing of the conductor terminal block can be a continuous housing in the row direction, which accommodates several or all of the first spring-loaded terminal connections, and possibly also the second spring-loaded terminal connections. The conductor terminal block can also be designed as a modular terminal block, in which several housing modules are arranged next to one another in a disc-like manner in the row direction and connected to one another. Such a housing module can then accommodate, for example, a first spring-loaded terminal connection, or a first and a second spring-loaded terminal connection in the case of a feed-through terminal block.

[0017] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the housing has a first receiving contour associated with each of the first spring-loaded terminal connections. The first receiving contours are arranged in alignment with one another on the same housing side, so that an actuating lever latched onto a first receiving contour can be displaced in the alignment direction from one first receiving contour to another first receiving contour. In this way, several or all of the first spring-loaded terminal connections can be actuated with one and the same actuating lever. Thus, a separate actuating lever does not need to be used for each first spring-loaded terminal connection.

[0018] Analogously, the housing can have a second receiving contour assigned to each of the second spring-loaded terminal connections, wherein the second receiving contours are arranged in alignment with one another on the same housing side, so that an actuating lever latched onto a second receiving contour can be moved in the alignment direction from one second receiving contour to another second receiving contour. In this way, several or all of the second spring-loaded terminal connections can be actuated with one and the same actuating lever. It is therefore not necessary to use a separate actuating lever for each second spring-loaded terminal connection. According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the housing has a holding contour for attaching a fastening flange to the housing, with which the housing can be fastened to another object. This has the advantage that the conductor connection terminal can be easily attached to another object, e.g.an installation box, a mounting plate, or other object. The mounting flange can be attached to the housing or the support contour, for example, by snapping it onto one or more locking elements.

[0019] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the actuating lever can be snapped onto the first receiving contour and / or the second receiving contour from the outside of the housing. This allows for simple and intuitive attachment of the actuating lever to the housing. The actuating lever can be removed from the housing just as easily.

[0020] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the first and / or second receiving contour is designed as a concave hollow contour. Accordingly, a fixing contour of the actuating lever associated with the first and / or second receiving contour can be designed as a convex-shaped body. It is also possible to configure the arrangement in the opposite way, i.e., with a convex-shaped first and / or second receiving contour and a fixing contour of the actuating lever formed as a counterpart and shaped as a concave hollow contour.

[0021] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the actuating lever, once engaged with the first or second receiving contour, can be removed from the first or second receiving contour without damage. This has the advantage that the actuating lever can subsequently be reused, e.g., on the same conductor terminal or a different conductor terminal.

[0022] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, a pivotable actuating lever, which is configured for manually actuating the first clamping spring, is latched onto the housing at the first and / or second receiving contour. The actuating lever allows for simple, intuitive operation when opening the clamping points of the spring-loaded terminals of the conductor terminal.

[0023] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the first receiving contour is arranged between the first conductor insertion opening and the side of the housing on which the first actuation opening is located. Analogously, the second receiving contour can be arranged between the second conductor insertion opening and the side of the housing on which the second actuation opening is located.

[0024] The object mentioned above is also achieved by an actuating lever for a conductor connection terminal of the type explained above, wherein the actuating lever has a fixing contour shaped as a negative of the first receiving contour, which can be latched onto the first receiving contour, wherein the actuating lever also has a manual actuating surface for manually actuating the actuating lever. In addition, the actuating lever can have a projecting actuating cam for deflecting the first clamping spring upon manual actuation of the actuating lever. This also makes it possible to realize the advantages explained above. The actuating lever can be latched onto the first receiving contour with its fixing contour. In this state, the actuating lever can actuate and deflect the first clamping spring via the projecting actuating cam in order to open the first clamping point. The actuating cam can be guided through the first or second actuating opening of the housing, depending on whether the actuating lever is received on the first or second receiving contour.

[0025] Advantageously, the actuating cam can protrude on the side of the actuating lever facing away from the manual actuating surface. The actuating cam can protrude, in particular, toward the housing of the conductor terminal when it is engaged with the first receiving contour. Accordingly, the manual actuating surface is arranged on the side of the actuating lever facing away from the housing, allowing it to be easily and conveniently operated manually.

[0026] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the fixing contour forms the pivot axis of the actuating lever when the actuating lever is engaged with the first receiving contour. Accordingly, the actuating lever performs a pivoting movement around the fixing contour. The actuating lever itself does not need to be deformed, in particular, bent. This allows for a pleasant, ergonomic feel.

[0027] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the actuating lever is designed to be substantially rigid in the region of its manual actuating surface and / or from the actuating surface to the fixing contour. Accordingly, the actuating lever essentially does not bend during manual actuation. The required pivoting movement can be realized via the aforementioned pivot axis.

[0028] The object mentioned at the outset is also achieved by a set comprising at least one conductor connection terminal of the type explained above and at least one actuating lever of the type explained above. The advantages explained above can also be realized in this way.

[0029] For the purposes of the present invention, the indefinite term "a" is not to be understood as a numerical term. Therefore, if, for example, a component is mentioned, this is to be interpreted as "at least one component." Angles expressed in degrees refer to a circle of 360 degrees (360°).

[0038] Figure 7 shows a further embodiment of a conductor connection terminal with operating levers,

[0039] Figure 8 a conductor connection terminal with an actuating ring,

[0040] Figure 9 an actuating ring.

[0041] Figure 1 shows a conductor connection terminal 9 with a housing 3. A first spring-loaded terminal connection 1 and a second spring-loaded terminal connection 2 are arranged in the housing 3. The first spring-loaded terminal connection 1 has a first clamping spring 10 and a first busbar section 14. The second spring-loaded terminal connection 2 has a second clamping spring 20 and a second busbar section 24. The first and second busbar sections 14, 24 are designed as a common continuous busbar, i.e. the first spring-loaded terminal connection 1 is electrically connected to the second spring-loaded terminal connection 2 via this continuous busbar.

[0042] In the illustrated embodiment, the first clamping spring 10 and the second clamping spring 20 are designed as tension spring terminals, e.g. as a cage clamp. The first clamping spring 10 is supported by a contact leg 17 on the first busbar section 14. From the first contact leg 17, the first clamping spring 10 extends via a spring arc to a first clamping leg 13, which, together with the first busbar section 14, forms a first clamping point 15 for clamping a first electrical conductor. The first clamping point 15 is arranged on the side of the first busbar section 14 facing away from the first contact leg 17. The first clamping leg 13 has a first window-like opening 16 through which the first busbar section 14 and / or the first contact leg 17 extends. If the first clamping spring 10 is mechanically deflected by an actuating element, the first clamping leg 13 is displaced downward, so that the first window-like opening 16 is displaced predominantly to the side of the first busbar section 14 facing away from the first contact leg 17. The first electrical conductor can then be inserted through this first window-like opening 16. Once the mechanical loading of the first clamping spring 10 is discontinued, it springs back, whereby the first electrical conductor inserted through the first window-like opening 16 is clamped by the first clamping leg 13 at the first clamping point 15.

[0043] The second clamping spring 20 is supported by a contact leg 27 on the second busbar section 24. From the second contact leg 27, the second clamping spring 20 extends via a spring arc to a second clamping leg 23, which, together with the second busbar section 24, forms a second clamping point 25 for clamping a second electrical conductor. The second clamping point 25 is arranged on the side of the second busbar section 24 facing away from the second contact leg 27. The second clamping leg 23 has a second window-like opening 26 through which the second busbar section 24 and / or the second contact leg 27 extends. If the second clamping spring 20 is mechanically deflected by an actuating element, the second clamping leg 23 is displaced downward, so that the second window-like opening 26 is displaced predominantly to the side of the second busbar section 24 facing away from the second contact leg 27. The second electrical conductor can then be inserted through this second window-like opening 26. Once the mechanical loading of the second clamping spring 20 is discontinued, it springs back, whereby the second electrical conductor inserted through the second window-like opening 26 is clamped firmly at the second clamping point 25 by the second clamping leg 23.

[0044] The housing 3 has a first conductor insertion opening 33 on a first conductor insertion side 31, through which the first electrical conductor can be inserted into the housing 3 and guided to the first terminal point 15. The housing 3 has a second conductor insertion opening 34 on a second conductor insertion side 32, through which the second electrical conductor can be inserted into the housing 3 and guided to the second terminal point 25.

[0045] On the side of the housing 3 facing away from the first conductor insertion side 31, i.e. in this case on the second conductor insertion side 32, the housing 3 has a first receiving contour 11 on its outer side, to which a pivotable actuating lever 5 can be latched. On the first conductor insertion side 31, the housing 3 has a second receiving contour 21 on its outer side, to which a pivotable actuating lever 5 can be latched. As can be seen, the first receiving contour 11 and / or the second receiving contour 21 can extend over the entire housing width B.

[0046] The actuating lever 5 has a fixing contour 50 formed as a negative of the first receiving contour 11, which can be latched onto the first receiving contour 11. The actuating lever 5 also has a manual actuating surface 51 for manually actuating the actuating lever 5 and a projecting actuating cam 52 for deflecting the first or second clamping spring 10, 20 upon manual actuation of the actuating lever 5. The actuating cam 52 projects on the side of the actuating lever 5 facing away from the manual actuating surface 51.

[0047] With the actuating lever 5, for example, the first clamping spring 10 can be mechanically deflected during manual actuation, i.e., as mentioned, the first clamping leg 13 can be moved downwards. For this purpose, the actuating lever 5 must be engaged with its fixing contour 50 on the first receiving contour 11. If a pressure force is then applied to the actuating lever 5 on its manual actuating surface 51, the actuating cam 52 protruding on the opposite side is guided through a first actuating opening 12 in the housing 3 and presses the clamping leg 13 downwards. Alternatively, the actuating lever 5 can also be engaged on the second receiving contour 21. The second clamping spring 20 can then be actuated in a similar way with the actuating cam 52, which then protrudes through a second actuating opening 22 in the housing 3.

[0048] The conductor connection terminal 9 is designed as a terminal module that can be modularly assembled with other terminal modules of the same design to form a terminal block. For this purpose, the housings 3 each have protruding pins 35 on one side, which can be snapped into recesses located on an opposite side of the housing 3.

[0049] Figure 2 shows three conductor connection terminals 9 of the type shown in Figure 1, snapped together to form a terminal block. The conductor connection terminals 9 are arranged next to one another in a row direction A. The terminal block formed in this way is provided with an end plate 6 on the last conductor connection terminal 9 to cover its open housing side, which can be snapped onto the pins 35 in the same way as the housings 3 are snapped onto one another.

[0050] It can also be seen in Figure 2 that the housing 3 and / or the end plate 6 has a holding contour 60 for attaching a fastening flange to the housing 3 or the end plate 6.

[0051] Figure 3 shows such a fastening flange 4, which can be attached to the holding contour 60. The fastening flange 4 has holding elements 40 formed as a negative contour to the holding contour 60, e.g., in the form of locking elements.

[0052] Figure 4 shows how a mounting flange 4 of the type shown in Figure 3 can be attached to the terminal block according to Figure 2.

[0053] Furthermore, Figure 4 shows how an actuating lever 5 is latched onto the housing 3, e.g., onto the first receiving contour 11. The actuating cam 52 of the actuating lever 5 is now located in the region of a first actuating opening 12.

[0054] Figure 5 shows the terminal block according to Figure 4, wherein the end plate 6 with the fastening flange 4 has been removed to clarify the actuation of the first clamping spring 10. The actuating lever 5 is now in a manually actuated state in which the actuating cam 52 has been guided far through the first actuating opening 12 and has thereby displaced the first clamping leg 13 downwards so that an electrical conductor can be guided through the first window-like opening 16. If the actuating force on the actuating lever 5 is released, the clamping spring 10 springs back into the position shown in Figure 1, at least partially, until the connected electrical conductor is clamped firmly at the first clamping point 15 on the first busbar section 14.

[0055] The conductor connection terminal according to the invention can be varied in many ways. Figure 6 shows an embodiment with a housing 3 which has two first conductor insertion openings 33 arranged next to one another on the first conductor insertion side 31. The housing 3 is, however, designed as a continuous housing, i.e. not formed with two housings placed next to one another in a modular manner as shown in Figure 2. Each of the first conductor insertion openings 33 can be assigned a respective first spring-loaded terminal connection, wherein the first spring-loaded terminal connections can be electrically connected to one another, e.g. by providing a continuous first busbar section for both first spring-loaded terminal connections. The first spring-loaded terminal connections can in turn be actuated by an actuating lever 5 which is latched onto the first receiving contour 11.Figure 6 shows an embodiment in which two actuating levers 5 are latched next to each other on the first receiving contour 11. One actuating lever 5 is in the manually actuated state, the other in the unactuated state.

[0056] Figure 7 shows an embodiment in which the conductor connection terminal 9 has only a first conductor insertion opening 33 on the first conductor insertion side 31, to which a first spring-loaded terminal connection 1 with a first clamping spring 10 is assigned, which is considerably wider than the clamping springs illustrated in the previous illustrations. The first clamping spring 10 can, for example, extend in the width direction over a width of three first spring-loaded terminal connections of the shape illustrated in Figure 2, or over any other number of spring-loaded terminal connections. The first clamping spring 10, which requires a greater actuating force due to its size, can be actuated by several actuating levers 5 latched onto the housing 3, for example, in the example shown, by three actuating levers 5 arranged side by side. The first clamping spring 10 can be acted upon directly by the actuating cams 52 or, as shown in Figure 7, via a force transmission element 36 arranged therebetween, which can be designed, for example, as an elastically deflectable tab and can be formed integrally with the material of the housing 3. This evens out the force transmission through the three individual actuating levers 5 to the clamping spring 10. Figure 7 also shows that on the second conductor insertion side 32, which is diametrically opposite the first conductor insertion side 31, a plurality of second spring-loaded clamping connections 2, each with a second clamping spring 20 that is smaller than the first clamping spring 10 - in this exemplary embodiment, three second clamping springs 20 - are arranged. The second spring-loaded clamping connections 2 are electrically connected to the first spring-loaded clamping connection 1 via a common busbar. In this design, the conductor connection terminal 9 can be used in the manner of a distribution terminal.

[0057] In the case of highly miniaturised conductor connection terminals, it can also be helpful not to actuate the spring-loaded terminal connections using an actuating lever 5, but rather, as shown in Figure 8, to use a separate actuating element in the form of an actuating ring 7. The actuating ring 7 has an annular section 70 on the outside of which an actuating cam 71 is formed. The actuating ring 7 can, for example, be slipped onto a finger or thumb and in this way be conveniently used to actuate spring-loaded terminal connections of miniaturised conductor connection terminals. Figure 9 shows the actuating ring 7 as a separate part in a different view. In particular, the annular section 70 can not be completely closed in a ring, but can have an interruption on one side, e.g. on the side facing away from the actuating cam 71.
