Abstract
Description
TECHNICAL SECTOR
[0001] The present invention relates to a gantry structure for finishing and equipping an opening of a perimeter wall of a building.
[0002] In particular, the present invention relates to a gantry structure, which is inserted into the opening of a perimeter wall and fixed to the perimeter wall for the purpose of housing and supporting a respective window, French window or door. The gantry structure defines a measured housing for the respective window or door, delimits the space with appropriately finished surfaces, thermally and acoustically insulates the window or door from the perimeter wall and prevents thermal bridges from being created along the perimeter wall around the window or doors.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0003] In the building construction and renovation industry, it is commonly known to install a gantry structure to finish and equip an opening of a perimeter wall of a building.
[0004] Generally, the gantry structure comprises a base transverse element, two lateral uprights mounted on the base transverse element, and an upper transverse element mounted on the lateral uprights. Typically, the base transverse element, lateral uprights and upper transverse element comprise respective insulating panels made of a thermally insulating material, such as expanded sintered polystyrene (EPS) .
[0005] In addition, it is commonly known to equip the gantry structures with a casing arranged resting on the lateral uprights and a shading system, which is arranged in the casing and comprises a roller and / or folding external fixture, an electric motor configured to wind and / or pack the external fixture into the casing, a battery configured to electrically power the electric motor, and a solar panel arranged outside the casing and electrically connected to the battery so as to recharge the battery. An example of a gantry structure of the type identified above is disclosed in EP 4,279,701.
[0006] However, at certain times of the year, typically in the winter seasons, there is a risk that the solar panel will not be able to recharge the battery and that, as a result, the shading system will not be usable. Said risk also exists if the gantry structure is not adequately exposed to solar radiation, e.g. if the gantry structure faces north or due to natural or artificial obstacles, such as trees or other buildings, overshadowing the gantry structure.
[0007] In these cases, in order to access the battery in order to recharge the battery, it is necessary to dismantle some components of the gantry structure, often using specialised personnel and dedicated equipment. In addition, said dismantling operations are sometimes carried out from outside the building, which poses a safety risk to specialised personnel.PATENT OBJECT
[0008] An object of the present invention is to provide a gantry structure that is free from the drawbacks of the prior art.
[0009] In accordance with the present invention, a gantry structure is provided for finishing and equipping an opening in a perimeter wall of a building, the gantry structure comprising: a pair of lateral uprights configured to be mounted in the opening of the perimeter wall and preferably made at least partially of a thermally insulating material; an upper transverse element, which is configured to be mounted on the lateral uprights and is preferably made at least partially of a thermally insulating material; a casing resting on the upper transverse element and / or lateral uprights; a shading system comprising a roller and / or folding external fixture and an electric motor configured to roll and / or fold the external fixture into the casing; a battery configured to electrically power the electric motor; and a connector, which is electrically connected to the battery and is configured to be connected to a power source so as to allow a recharge of the battery.
[0010] Thanks to the present invention, it is possible to recharge the battery easily and safely, without the need for the energy contribution of a solar panel. From an operational point of view, it is possible for a user of the shading system to easily connect the connector to an external energy source, such as an additional battery or a domestic power grid, while remaining inside the building and, consequently, avoiding the costs and risks associated with dismantling the components of the gantry structure to gain direct access to the battery.
[0011] In particular, the connector extends through the upper transverse element or through one of the lateral uprights; preferably the upper transverse element or one of the lateral uprights being provided with a through opening into which the connector is inserted.
[0012] This makes the connector easily accessible from inside the building.
[0013] In particular, the casing is configured to be mounted on the outside of said perimeter wall.
[0014] In this way, the gantry structure can be mounted from outside the building, limiting disturbance to residents inside the building.
[0015] In particular, the lateral uprights and the upper transverse element delimit an interior space when installed in the opening of the perimeter wall; the connector being provided with a power socket, preferably of the USB-C type, facing said interior space.
[0016] In this way, the connector can be connected to a power source quickly and easily.
[0017] In particular, each lateral upright comprises a first insulating panel made of a thermally insulating material and a first reinforcement panel integral with the first insulating panel; the upper transverse element comprises a second insulating panel made of a thermally insulating material and a second reinforcement panel integral with the second insulating panel.
[0018] In particular, the battery is integrated into the upper transverse element or in one of the lateral uprights.
[0019] In more detail, the upper transverse element comprises a housing, which is formed in the second insulating panel and houses the battery.
[0020] In this way, the battery can be thermally insulated from the external environment to extend battery life and prevent battery malfunctioning at low temperatures.
[0021] In particular, the gantry structure comprises at least one electric cable, which electrically connects the battery to the connector.
[0022] In more detail, the connector extends through one of the lateral uprights; said lateral upright comprises a channel, which is formed in the first insulating panel and houses the at least one electric cable.
[0023] In this way, the electric cable can be thermally insulated from the external environment to ensure a reliable electrical connection between the connector and the battery even at low temperatures.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
