[0002] The present invention generally pertains to door lock units, and more precisely to an electric door lock with a switchable power-to-open and power-to lock function. The electric door lock unit may typically be adapted for installation in a door leaf.BACKGROUND

[0003] Door lock units have a vast range of applications, such as at hotels, hospitals, offices, or the like. For certain applications, electric door lock units, for example solenoid or motor locks, are particularly popular. A common type of electric door lock units is activated, e.g. locked or unlocked, by means of a magnetic card, a mobile phone, an RFID tag, a security system, or the like. In other applications, the door lock unit may be operated manually, i.e. without a solenoid or the like.

[0006] A general object of the invention is to address the challenges mentioned above. In particular, an object is to facilitate installation and keep costs down by providing a door lock unit that is highly adaptable to various use cases and applications. Preferably, the invention of the present disclosure is to provide a mechanical mechanism that is compact, robust, reliable, and easy to manufacture and assemble. In particular, the number of components, especially moving components, is intended to be reduced. Compact mechanical mechanisms are particularly beneficial in modern electric door lock units, where space is needed for electric and electronic equipment.

[0007] In accordance with the present disclosure, there is provided an electric door lock unit for installation in a door leaf or in a door frame. The electric door lock unit may e.g. be an electric strike or an electric mortise lock. The door lock unit comprises an arrest member that is movable between an arrest position in which the door leaf is arrested from being opened, and a release position in which the door leaf is not arrested from being opened. The door lock unit further comprises an electric actuator, a transmission assembly operatively arranged between the electric actuator and the arrest member. The transmission assembly may selectively be set in either a first operation mode, e.g. a Power-to-Open mode, or a second operation mode, e.g. a Power-to-Lock mode.

6. The electric door lock unit (1') of claim 4 or 5, wherein the selector member portion is disposed such that it is accessible when the electric door lock unit (1') is not mounted in the door leaf (100), and inaccessible when the electric door lock unit (1') is mounted in the door leaf (100).

7. The electric door lock unit (1') according to any of claims 4 to 6, wherein the selector member portion is disposed on a section of the electric door lock unit (1) that is inaccessible when the electric door lock unit (1') is mounted in the door leaf (100).

8. The electric door lock unit (1') of any preceding claim, configured such that the selector member (32') may be selectively retained in the first and second mode positions (PTO, PTL), respectively.

9. The electric door lock unit (1') of claim 8, comprising a resilient retain arrangement for retaining the selector member (32') in the first and second mode positions (PTO, PTL), respectively.

10. The electric door lock unit (1') of claim 9, wherein the resilient retain arrangement comprises a detent mechanism and a protrusion or a recess configured to be engaged by the detent mechanism.

11. The electric door lock unit (1') of any preceding claim, wherein the selector lever member (32') is elongated and the transmission assembly (30') is configured such that the electric actuator (20') may interact with the selector lever member (32') at a distal section thereof in relation to the fulcrum of the selector lever member (32'), and the hub follower (31') may interact with the selector lever member (32') at a proximal section of the selector lever member (32').
