AI Technical Summary
Aircraft fuel storage systems often leave residual fuel unused due to the angle of fuel probes and pumps, which cannot draw fuel during maneuvers, resulting in unutilized fuel volumes.
A fuel storage system with a fabric interface between the tank base and fuel, driven by a unit to change positions from the base to the ceiling, allowing the fuel to be re-directed into the pipe from bottom to top, maintaining constant volume and utilizing residual fuel.
Ensures maximum fuel volume utilization by re-directing residual fuel into the engine without altering the tank's volume, providing a light, ergonomic, and reliable storage solution for air and space vehicles.

Abstract
Description
[0001] A FUEL STORAGE SYSTEM
[0002] This invention relates to a system that ensures that the residual fuel in air and / or space vehicles is fed into the fuel pipe.
[0003] Fuel tank geometries in aircraft can take many different forms. A probe and / or pump system is used to direct the fuel to the engine. This pump is placed to the bottom from the top and sends the fuel upwards from the bottom. When aircraft manoeuvre, these probes cannot draw fuel, the fuel positioned at an angle cannot be used, and residual fuel volume is created.
[0004] Fuel distribution arrangement is mentioned in the United States patent document numbered US20170129620A1 in the state of the art. A fuel pipe extends from the fuel pump, where fuel is fed from the fuel tank to the engines. The fuel pipe can be opened to the fuel-containing area and operated to draw fuel. The end of the fuel pipe is angled to minimise the volume of residual fuel.
[0005] By means of a fuel storage system developed with this invention, maximum use of fuel volume is ensured.
[0006] By means of a fuel storage system developed with this invention, residual fuel can be used without changing the volume of the fuel tank.
[0007] Another aim of this invention is to develop a light, ergonomic and reliable storage system.
[0008] The fuel storage system defined in the first claim and the claims dependent on this claim, which is realised to achieve the purpose of the invention, comprises a tank that serves as a reservoir to transfer the necessary fuel to the engine. The fuel pipe, located in the tank and allowing the fuel to be discharged to the engine, extends from the base of the tank, where the fuel is free, to the tank ceiling, close to the part where the fuel is fed to the engine.
[0009] The fuel storage system of the invention contains a fabric that acts as an interface between the fuel tank base and the fuel and breaks the contact between the fuel and the base. In the first position (I), where the fabric is placed along the base of the tank, the fuel level may reach a level where the fuel cannot be discharged into the pipe. The fabric is triggered by a drive unit, gathers towards the tank ceiling, moves to its second position (II), and its height in the tank is increased while keeping the volume of the fuel constant. In this way, it is possible to re-discharge the fuel into the fuel pipe from bottom to top.
[0010] In one embodiment of the invention, the fuel storage system preferably comprises a cylindrical pipe located in the centre of the tank. The fabric wrapped around the pipe is moved towards the ceiling. As the edges of the fabric approach the pipe and move away from the base, the fabric is ensured to surround the fuel (Y).
[0011] In one embodiment of the invention, the fuel storage system comprises a ring surrounding the fuel pipe, preferably in ring form, which allows movement of the fabric when it is slid on the pipe due to its contact with the fabric, and also serves as a holder.
[0012] In one embodiment of the invention, the fuel storage system comprises numerous wires that can connect the fabric to the ring at more than one point and provide movement of the fabric by being located between the ring and the fabric.
[0013] In one embodiment of the invention, the fuel storage system comprises fabric and base with magnetic properties. When the fabric reaches the first position (I), it can settle on the base along its length due to the magnetic field created, thus the contact between the fuel and the base is interrupted and sealing is ensured.
[0014] In one embodiment of the invention, the fuel storage system comprises flexible rods within the fabric so that the fabric can be fully placed in the eccentrically shaped intermediate transition sections where the surfaces of the tank are not continuous. Flexible rods are placed in the cross sections between the surfaces, allowing the fabric to sit on the base. In this way, when the fabric is in the first position (I), there is no gap between the base and the fabric.
[0015] In one embodiment of the invention, the fuel storage system comprises a pulley that wraps the wires that connect the fabric to the ring and brings the fabric to the second position (II) when it rotates. In one embodiment of the invention, the fuel storage system comprises a probe located on the pipe that determines the level of fuel in the tank. The probe can also act as a pump and direct the fuel (Y) into the pipe with the vacuum effect it creates.
[0016] In one embodiment of the invention, the fuel storage system comprises an actuator that enables the pulley to move.
[0017] In one embodiment of the invention, the fuel storage system comprises multiple wires centred on the fuel pipe, which form a circle when lined up sequentially within the fabric, thus allowing the fabric to move at an equal distance from every point where it attaches to the ring when it reaches the second position (II).
[0018] In one embodiment of the invention, the fuel storage system comprises flexible rods with magnetic properties. The rods interact with the magnetic base surface and ensure that the fabric is placed on the base in form fitting.
[0019] In one embodiment of the invention, the fuel storage system comprises fabric with leakproof properties, preventing the fuel (Y) it holds on it from leaking.
[0020] In one embodiment of the invention, the fuel storage system comprises a drive unit used in air and space vehicles.
