AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Current wireless communication systems face a significant challenge in reducing the uplink signaling overhead associated with transmitting Layer 1 (L1) measurement reports, particularly for downlink beam management and reference signal reporting.

Method used

The proposed solution involves generating a beam measurement information report with reduced uplink signaling overhead by using common reference values. This is achieved by determining a respective reference value for each channel resource group and transmitting uplink information that includes these reference values and differential measurement information relative to the reference values.

Benefits of technology

This approach effectively reduces the uplink signaling overhead by using differential reporting based on common reference values, allowing for more efficient data collection for beam prediction and improved network performance.

Abstract

Systems and techniques are provided for wireless communications. A user equipment (UE) can receive information indicative of a plurality of channel resources and can determine a respective reference value for each channel resource group of one or more channel resource groups. Each channel resource group of the one or more channel resource groups can include at least a subset of the plurality of channel resources. The UE can transmit uplink information to a network entity, wherein the uplink information is indicative of the respective reference value for each channel resource group of the one or more channel resource groups, and respective measurement information indicative of one or more differential values relative to the respective reference value for each channel resource group of the one or more channel resource groups.
