Abstract
Description
Description Title of the invention: Button cover clip Technical field of the invention The invention relates to the field of clothing and more generally to that of garment making. More specifically, the invention relates to an element intended to conceal and / or cover a button worn by a garment and therefore finds its application in the ready-to-wear sector as well as in the tailoring sector or even in the haute couture sector. Prior art Traditionally, most garments feature buttons for utilitarian purposes, such as joining or closing the fabric panels that form the garment's structure. However, in addition to their functional role, these buttons often also serve an aesthetic function. Sometimes, certain garments even feature buttons whose purpose is primarily decorative, or even for advertising or marketing purposes. When making clothes, the operation of sewing buttons is a delicate task because these buttons can be of complex shapes and various geometries and their positioning must be precise. Furthermore, during regular maintenance of these clothes, for example by dry cleaning or steam cleaning in a laundry or dry cleaner, the appearance of these buttons can be greatly degraded, or even deteriorated, which poses problems of quality of service and subsequent presentation. Moreover, if the owner of a garment wishes to change its style, it is then necessary to replace the series of buttons with which it is equipped, which can be a laborious and expensive task. US patent application US20140101896 A1 describes a removable cover for dressing a button for aesthetic or advertising purposes. This cover comprises a body consisting of a front wall extending into a side wall with a transverse lip on its free edge. The transverse lip defines a circular opening leading into an internal cavity designed to cover the button. However, this button cover design is unsatisfactory because the internal cavity alone is insufficient to ensure a firm and stable attachment to the supporting button over time. Therefore, this button cover incorporates retaining tabs that are supported by the circular lip and extend radially into the cavity opening. However, the creation of these protruding lugs is an additional operation which complicates the manufacturing process of the cover, especially when it is done by molding. Furthermore, both the strictly circular profile of the cavity opening and the shape of the protruding tabs make it difficult to install the cover and prevent it from being adapted to all profiles and geometries of the support buttons. This problem is all the more critical because the cover is intended to be separated from the support button on numerous occasions, and because of their aggressive profile, the tabs tend to wear down or even break, consequently compromising the cover's secure attachment to the support button. Description of the invention In this context, the invention aims to overcome the technical problems posed by existing solutions by proposing an improved button cover clip by means of a specific adaptation of the opening of the internal cavity of the body, this improvement ensuring both easy assembly and disassembly as well as a stable attachment to the support button. This goal is achieved, according to the invention, by means of a button cover clip comprising a body having a front wall which extends into a side wall whose free edge has a transverse lip delimiting an opening leading into an internal cavity intended to cover a support button, characterized in that at least said transverse lip is elastically deformable and delimits, in said body, an oblong opening having a central constriction. According to an advantageous feature of the clip of the invention, the rim of the lip has at least two circular profile sectors separated by at least two opposing radial tabs and parabolic profile ensuring the retention of the body on the support button and delimiting the central constriction. Preferably, the ratio between the width of the central constriction and the diameter of the opening is between 0.40 and 0.50. More specifically, the width of the central constriction is, depending on the variant, between 10 mm and 20 mm while the diameter of the opening (i.e. its greatest length) is between 25 mm and 45 mm. According to another variant, the lateral wall has a curvilinear profile ending with the transverse lip in a plane substantially parallel to that of the frontal wall. According to another feature of the button cover clip of the invention, the front wall of the body has a peripheral shoulder intended for the placement and securing of an added decorative cover. Preferably, this hood is glued to the body and is made of metal, while the lip is made in one piece with the body. According to yet another characteristic, the body is made of silicone. The button cover clip of the invention provides a practical, stable and aesthetically modular or interchangeable covering for a button previously sewn or, more generally, fixed on a garment for utilitarian purposes. This improved clip can be easily mounted on any shape of button and quickly removed if necessary. Although the cavity opening has a wide range of expansion, the invention also allows for the clip to be made with an internal cavity of varying sizes to accommodate buttons of different dimensions. brief description of the figures Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the description that follows, with reference to the attached and detailed drawings below. It is explicitly intended that different embodiments can be proposed and combined to create others. DETAILED description of a method of implementation The invention relates to the field of clothing and more generally to that of garment making. Traditionally, most garments are fitted with buttons for utilitarian purposes, such as joining or closing the panels of fabric that form the structure of the garment. However, in addition to their functional role, these buttons have often also has an aesthetic function. Sometimes, certain garments even feature other buttons whose purpose is primarily decorative, or even for advertising or marketing purposes. Generally, these buttons consist of either a short shank sewn onto the garment fabric and extended by a widened head, or a pierced disc sewn directly onto the fabric. The invention aims to equip these buttons with a removable clip forming a cover, possibly interchangeable, intended to provide a covering function for decorative purposes and / or trimming in order to protect the support button from possible mechanical or chemical aggressions. In a manner known per se and as illustrated, in particular, by figures LA and 1B, the button cover clip of the invention comprises a body 1 of substantially cylindrical shape provided with a front wall la (or upper wall depending on the orientation given to the clip) which extends into a lateral wall 1b whose free edge has a transverse lip 11. The lip 11 defines, in the body 1, an opening 10 leading into an internal cavity 13 intended to hold a support button (not shown). Preferably, the lip 11 is made in one piece with the body 1. The improvement of the invention consists in that at least the transverse lip 11 is elastically deformable and here delimits an oblong opening 10 having a central constriction 10a. In the embodiment of the clip of the invention shown from below in [Fig. 2A], the periphery of the lip 11 has two circular sectors 11b separated by two opposing radial tabs 1 and parabolic in profile, ensuring the retention of the body 1 on the support button. Thus, in this way, the tabs 11a delimit the constriction 10a locally centered in the opening 10 and, in association with the circular sectors 11b, give a "bean" shape to the opening 10. The dimensions of the narrowing 10a are determined so that its smallest width is less than the diameters of the buttons to be fitted. The lip 11 has a significantly smaller thickness than the side wall 1b to facilitate its elastic deformation, as illustrated in Figures 4A and 4B. In a variant of the invention not shown, it is possible to make the lip 11 with more than two circular sectors and / or more than two radial tabs by adapting their respective dimensions on the periphery of the opening 10 and thus forming several local constrictions, in the manner of a crown or a diaphragm. When applying the clip, the body 1 is pressed against the button, which elastically spreads the flexible tabs 1 to widen the constriction 10a and in- insert the button through the opening 10 before the tabs fold between the button and the fabric to trap it in the cavity 13 and hold it reversibly in the manner of a snap fastener. As illustrated by figures 1A, 1B and 1C, the lateral wall 1b of the body | has a curvilinear profile converging towards the center of the body | and ending with the transverse lip 11 in a plane which extends substantially parallel to that of the frontal wall la. As illustrated by the detailed cross-sectional view of [Fig.3B], this front wall has a peripheral shoulder 12 intended for the placement and securing of a hood 2 (shown in cross-section in [Fig.3A]) added for aesthetic and decorative purposes. Shoulder 12 has a width of approximately 0.45 mm and is connected to the front face by a fillet with a radius of 0.50 mm and a height of 0.45 mm. The cover 2 has a peripheral rim that rests on shoulder 12 of body 1 and whose inner and outer lateral faces are rounded with a radius of 0.50 mm. The height of this rim is 0.45 mm and its width is 0.50 mm. Given the known dimensions of the buttons used in the manufacture, the invention provides that the ratio between the width of the central constriction 10a (i.e. the distance separating the ends of the tabs 1 la in the opening 10) and the diameter of the opening 10 (i.e. its greatest length) is between 0.40 and 0.50. More specifically, the width of the central constriction 10a is, depending on the variants, between 10 mm and 20 mm while the diameter of the opening 10 is between 25 mm and 45 mm. The body 1 is made of an elastomeric material such as rubber or silicone. The total height of the body | is approximately 4.38 mm and its outer diameter is preferably between 17 mm and 29 mm, depending on the various embodiments. The hood 2 shown in figures 1B and 3B is preferably made of metal (such as "zamak") and glued to the front wall of the body 1, being wedged at its periphery on the shoulders 12. The visible outer face 2a of the hood 2 has decorative patterns.
