Description

Title of the invention: Device for fixing an object immersed in an underwater basin Technical field

[0001] The invention relates to a device for fixing an object immersed in an underwater basin. It also relates to a method for fixing an object immersed in an underwater basin by means of this device.

[0002] It relates to the technical field of devices for fixing an object immersed in an underwater pool and relates more particularly, but not exclusively, to fixing lighting to the wall of a swimming pool. State of the art

[0003] The devices for fixing lamps to the wall of a swimming pool are described in particular in patent documents US7188378, US 2006 / 0187652, WO2005 / 036051, US5122936, US 2005 / 0036305, FR2935459.

[0004] More particularly, patent document EP3106587A1 discloses a fixing device comprising: - a tubular pipe conduit adapted to be fixed in the wall of the basin, which conduit has an inner circumferential wall; - a support for fixing the object, comprising a sleeve which extends to the rear of said support and which is adapted to be housed in the conduit; - a deformable elastomer socket associated with the sleeve; - a member causing the deformation of the socket between: an initial position where the socket is distant or in sliding contact with the inner wall of the conduit so as to allow angular adjustment of the support relative to said conduit; and a locking position where the sleeve is in tight contact with the inner wall of the conduit so as to hold the support in position in said conduit.

[0005] The solution described in EP3106587A1 is not entirely satisfactory insofar as, in use, the elastomer bushing does not ensure effective locking of the fixing support. In addition, it has been observed that over time, the elastomer bushing may tend to loosen from the conduit. Furthermore, the design and assembly of the fixing device may prove complex.

[0006] The invention aims to overcome all or part of the aforementioned drawbacks. In particular, one objective of the invention is to propose a fixing device which makes it possible to lock the fixing support more effectively and more permanently over time. Another objective of the invention is to propose a fixing device which is of simple design, and which is easy and quick to install. Presentation of the invention

[0007] The solution proposed by the invention is a device for fixing an object immersed in an underwater basin, which device comprises: - a conduit adapted to be fixed in the wall of the basin, which conduit has an internal wall, - a support for fixing the object, comprising a sleeve which extends at the rear of said support and which is adapted to be housed in the conduit, which sleeve has an axis, - at least one fixing element to hold the sleeve in position in the conduit, and in which: - the fixing element consists of a rigid clamping jaw having an inclined surface slidably mounted on an inclined surface of the sleeve, so that said jaw is movable on said sleeve in axial and radial translation, - a member causes the bit to move between: — an insertion position where the jaw is radially brought closer to the axis of the sleeve so that said jaw is distant from or in sliding contact with the inner wall of the conduit, — a locking position where the jaw is radially spaced from the axis of the sleeve so that said jaw is in tight contact with the inner wall of the conduit so as to hold the support in position in said conduit.

[0008] A clamping jaw having an axial and radial translation capacity relative to the sleeve can act more effectively on the internal wall of the conduit (i.e. with an increased clamping force) than the deformable elastomer sleeve described in the aforementioned patent document EP3106587A1. In fact, the fixing support is perfectly locked relative to the conduit, without the possibility of loosening over time, the jaw being non-deformable. In addition, the use of a jaw moving on an inclined surface facilitates the design and ensures particularly easy and rapid installation of the fixing support in the conduit.

[0009] Other advantageous features of the invention are listed below. Each of these features may be considered alone or in combination with the remarkable features defined above. Each of these features contributes, where appropriate, to the resolution of specific technical problems defined further in the description and in which the other features defined above do not necessarily contribute. The following features may thus be the subject, where appropriate, of one or more divisional patent applications:

[0010] According to one embodiment, the device comprises at least two clamping jaws distributed around the sleeve, each jaw having an inclined surface mounted to slide on a corresponding inclined surface of the sleeve.

[0011] According to one embodiment, the inclined surface of the sleeve is produced on the external wall of said sleeve and converges towards a distal end of said sleeve.

[0012] According to one embodiment, the inclined surface of the sleeve has an upward slope from a distal end of said sleeve towards a proximal end of said sleeve, the inclination of this slope relative to the axis of said sleeve being between 20° and 80°, advantageously between 50° and 60°, preferably 45° plus or minus 5°.

[0013] According to one embodiment, the inclined surface of the jaw has the same slope as the inclined surface of the sleeve.

[0014] According to one embodiment, the sleeve and the jaw are provided with one or more complementary guide slides, in mutual engagement, and configured to guide said jaw during its translation.

[0015] According to one embodiment, the drive member is in the form of a threaded rod oriented parallel to the axis of the sleeve and passing through a hole made in said sleeve.

[0016] According to one embodiment, the rod passes through the jaw, which jaw has a dedicated housing in the form of a longitudinal groove or slot oriented along the axis of the sleeve, which housing is shaped so that said jaw has a capacity for radial translation relative to said rod.

[0017] According to one embodiment, the rod is engaged with a nut mounted movably in a groove provided in the jaw; which groove is oriented radially in the housing or at the end thereof, which groove is further shaped so as to block the rotation of the nut along the axis of the rod, while allowing said nut to slide in said groove.

[0018] According to one embodiment, one or more O-rings are mounted on the jaw, which seals provide a seal with the conduit. Brief description of the figures

[0030] As used herein, unless otherwise indicated, the possible use of the ordinal adjectives "first", "second", etc., to describe an object simply indicates that different occurrences of similar objects are mentioned and does not imply that the objects so described must be in a given sequence, whether in time, space, ordering or in any other way. "X and / or Y" means: X alone or Y alone or X+Y. Generally speaking, it will be appreciated that in the various accompanying drawings, the objects are arbitrarily drawn to facilitate their reading.

[0031] The device which is the subject of the invention makes it possible to fix an object in an underwater basin. The latter may be a swimming pool, a spa, a jacuzzi, an ornamental basin (for example intended to receive plant and / or animal species), an aquarium, a fountain, etc.

[0032] The object to be fixed is preferably a submerged object having an electrical connection to a current source. This is particularly a lighting device, such as an LED projector. However, it may be another type of object such as an anti-drowning alarm, an acoustic speaker, a display screen, a temperature probe, a pH sensor, etc. For the sake of brevity and clarity only, the remainder of the description refers to a submerged object in the form of a projector.

[0033] In Figures 1 to 3, the projector 1 is in the form of a horizontal bar on which monochrome or polychrome LEDs 11 or any other type of light source are installed. For example, this bar may have a length of between 10 cm and 50 cm, a width of between 5 cm and 20 cm, and a thickness of between 2 cm and 10 cm. This projector 1 is provided with a plastic cover 10 obtained by molding, comprising an opening 100 opposite which the LEDs 11 are arranged. This opening 100 is advantageously sealed in a sealed manner by an optic or lens 12 made of glass or plastic material. translucent or transparent.

[0034] The cover 10 may be provided with orifices arranged so that the water from the basin can circulate around the LEDs 11 to cool them.

[0035] In [Fig. 1], the LEDs 11 are mounted on the front face of an electronic card 110, which card is housed in an arrangement 130 provided in a support plate 13. The electronic card 110 is secured to the plate 13 by clipping, screwing or gluing for example. According to an advantageous embodiment, the plate 13 is made of plastic and obtained by molding.

[0036] The cover 10 covers the plate 13 and is secured to it in a sealed manner, for example by clipping, screwing or gluing, one or more sealing gaskets 131 being advantageously provided.

[0037] The lighting of the LEDs 11 is controlled by means of an electronic management unit 111 mounted on the card 110. This management unit 111 can be activated by remote control, by a dedicated button accessible from the cover 10, or directly programmed. The user thus has the possibility of generating, according to his desire or in a programmed manner, numerous lighting effects possibly combined with color schemes.

[0038] Although a battery or electric cells can be used, the LEDs 11 and more generally the components installed on the card 110, are preferably powered by means of an electric power supply cable 15 visible in [Fig.3].

[0039] The projector 1 is associated with a fixing support 2. According to a preferred embodiment, the support 2 is obtained by molding. An anti-UV treated ABS type plastic is preferably used.

[0040] The support 2 comprises a flange 20 and a sleeve 21 which extends at the rear of said support. The flange 20 and the sleeve 21 are integral and advantageously shaped simultaneously during the molding of the support 2.

[0041] According to one embodiment, the flange 20 has fixing elements 200 making it possible to secure the support 2 to the plate 13. According to an advantageous embodiment allowing rapid fixing, the fixing elements 200 are clips which engage in complementary housings 132 provided on the plate 13. The fixing of the flange 20 on the plate 13 can however be carried out by other means such as screwing, hooking, gluing, magnetization, etc.

[0042] For example, the sleeve 21 has an external diameter of between 3 cm and 9 cm. Its internal diameter may be between 2.5 cm and 8.8 cm. Its length may be between 2 cm and 10 cm and its thickness between 2 mm and 5 mm.

[0043] The sleeve 21 has a proximal end in contact with the flange 20 and a distal end opposite said proximal end. The axis of the sleeve 21, or axis geometric, is noted XX in the attached figures.

[0044] The sleeve 21 has inclined surfaces 210 or bevels (the two terms being synonymous within the meaning of the invention). In [Fig. 4], the sleeve 21 has two inclined surfaces 210 (or two beveled portions), each configured to cooperate with a clamping jaw 4. However, the invention is not limited to this configuration, the sleeve 21 may have only one inclined surface 21 cooperating with a single jaw, or more than two inclined surfaces, for example three to six inclined surfaces each cooperating with a jaw. The use of two or more jaws 4 distributed around the sleeve 21, however, ensures more secure holding in position.

[0045] These inclined surfaces 210 are produced on the external wall of the sleeve 21 and converge towards its distal end. According to an advantageous embodiment, they are arranged symmetrically with respect to the transverse plane of the support 2, but this configuration is not necessary.

[0046] The inclined surfaces 210 have an upward slope from the distal end of the sleeve 21 towards the proximal end of said sleeve (i.e. towards the flange 20). The inclination of this slope relative to the axis XX is between 20° and 80°, advantageously between 50° and 60°, preferably 45° plus or minus 5°. As explained further in the description, these slope values allow good sliding of the jaws 4, with reduced friction. In addition, these slope values offer a good range between the axial translation and the radial translation of the jaws 4. For example, with a slope of 45°, the length of the radial displacement corresponds to that of the axial displacement. With a slope of 20°, the length of the radial displacement is less than that of the radial displacement, which allows a finer adjustment of the tightening of the jaws 4 in the conduit 3, and with reduced friction between said jaws and the sleeve 21.Conversely, with a slope of 80°, the length of the radial displacement is greater than that of the radial displacement, which makes it possible to reach the locking position of the jaws 4 in the conduit 3 more quickly, but with more friction between said jaws and the sleeve 21.

[0047] In the attached figures, the inclined surfaces 210 extend over only part of the height of the sleeve 21, and preferably halfway up. They may, however, extend over the entire height of the sleeve 21, from the distal end to the proximal end.

[0048] Referring to [Fig.7], the sleeve 21 is associated with one or more rigid clamping jaws 4. The term "rigid jaw" means that the jaw 4 is not deformable under a force exerted by the fingers of a user. According to one embodiment, the jaw 4 has a Shore D hardness greater than 20, measured using a durometer conforming to the ISO 868 and / or ASTM 2240 standard. According to a preferred embodiment, each jaw 4 is obtained by molding. A ABS type plastic treated with anti-UV.

[0049] Figures 4 and 5 illustrate a preferred embodiment of a jaw 4. Each jaw 4 is complementary to a beveled portion of the sleeve 21. Thus, when the jaw(s) 4 are in the insertion position (Figures 7 and 8), the jaw-sleeve assembly has an external wall (or is included in an envelope) complementary to the internal wall of the conduit 3 in which it engages and which is described further in the description. The jaw-sleeve assembly preferably has a cylindrical shape, but may have a conical, parallelepipedal, polyhedral, etc. shape.

[0050] In [Fig. 4], the jaw 4 has an inclined surface 410 which cooperates with an inclined surface 210 of the sleeve 21. According to a preferred embodiment, the inclined surface 410 has the same slope as the inclined surface 210, although these slopes may be different. More precisely, the inclined surface 410 is slidably mounted on the inclined surface 210 so that the jaw 4 is movable on the sleeve 21 according to an axial and radial translation. Figures 8 and 9 diagrammatically show this axial translation TA and this radial translation TR when the jaws 4 are driven from the insertion position ([Fig. 8]) to the locking position ([Fig. 9]).

[0051] According to one embodiment, the sleeve 21 and the jaws 4 are provided with one or more complementary guide slides 211, 411, in mutual engagement, and configured to guide the jaws 4 during their translation. These slides 211, 411 can be directly molded on the sleeve 21 and / or the jaws 4, at the level of the inclined surfaces 210, 410, or be attached to said surfaces.

[0052] A member causes the movement of each jaw 4 between: - the insertion position ([Fig.8]) where the jaw 4 is radially close to the axis XX of the sleeve 21, and - the locking position ([Fig.9]) where the jaw 4 is radially spaced from the axis XX of the sleeve 21.

[0053] According to a preferred embodiment, this drive member is in the form of a threaded rod 5, for example a screw, oriented parallel to the axis XX and passing through a bore 250 made in the sleeve 21, which bores are notably visible in [Fig. 4]. The rod 5 also passes through the jaw 4, which has a dedicated housing 450. In [Fig. 6], this housing 450 is in the form of a longitudinal groove or slot, that is to say oriented along the axis XX. The housing 450 is shaped so that the jaw 4 has a radial translation capacity relative to the rod 5. For this purpose, the housing 450 may have an oblong section for example.

[0054] Referring to Figures 7 and 10, the rod 5 is engaged with a nut 6 placed in the corresponding jaw 4. Their respective threads are notably engaged. The nut 6 is mounted movably in a groove 460 provided in the jaw 4. This groove 460 is radially oriented, that is to say perpendicular to the axis XX, in the housing 450, or at the end thereof. The groove 460 is shaped so as to block the rotation of the nut 6 along the axis of the rod 5, while allowing sliding (or radial translation) of said nut in said groove. According to one embodiment, the nut 6 is a conventional commercial sliding nut.

[0055] Referring to Figures 8 and 9, the rods 5 are introduced into the sleeve 21, from the front face of the flange 20, passing through bores 205 or the internal conduit 2100 of the sleeve 21. Each rod 5 is preferably provided with a head 50 which comes to bear against a shoulder of the bore 205 or the internal conduit 2100. The other end of the rod 5 is screwed into the nut 6.

[0056] By rotating the rod 5 (for example by means of a tool such as a screwdriver, Allen key, etc.) the nut 6, which is locked in rotation, moves axially along said rod, causing the axial movement of the jaw 4. The jaw 4 moving on the inclined surface 210 of the sleeve 21, the axial movement of said jaw is accompanied by a radial movement. This radial movement capacity is made possible by the groove 460 in which the nut 6 slides and by the conformation of the housing 450. This radial movement of the jaw 4 results in an increase in the external diameter of the support 2 at the level of the sleeve 21.

[0057] A conduit 3 is illustrated in Figures 1, 8 and 9. This conduit 3 preferably consists of a wall crossing. This is a standard part which is used in almost all pools and in particular above-ground or in-ground pools, with thin or thick walls, with or without a liner, for the installation of parts to be sealed (discharge nozzle, broom socket, etc.). A wall crossing can be sealed in a hard and rigid wall made of concrete, blockboard, polystyrene, resin or other material, and equipped or not with a plastic membrane (liner). Some crossings can be provided with stiffeners in order to ensure good adhesion to the concrete and good sealing of the pool. The conduit 3 preferably has a circular or substantially circular section.

[0058] In use, the conduit 3 is installed in the wall of the basin and is sealed therein. The inner wall 30 of the conduit 3 may be smooth or provided with a thread.

[0059] When the conduit 3 is placed in the wall, the support 2 can be easily and quickly inserted into said conduit as illustrated in Figures 8 and 9. To do this, the jaws 4 are initially placed in an insertion position (Figures 7 and 8) where they are radially brought closer to the axis XX of the sleeve 21 so that said jaws are distant or in sliding contact with the inner wall of the conduit 3. The distal portion of the support 2 (corresponding to the sleeve-jaw assembly) can thus be easily inserted into the conduit 3. This insertion is done axially, manually, without screwing, by simple pushing. The installer can thus adjust ma- only the angular position of the support 2 relative to the conduit 3.

[0060] In the case where the object to be fixed is a projector in the form of a horizontal bar, the support 2 advantageously incorporates a spirit level 27 making it possible to check the horizontal or vertical position of said support. In general, the invention thus offers the installer the choice between an infinite number of angular positions of the support 2. Conversely, whatever the desired shape and / or orientation of the object to be fixed, the adjustment of the angular position of the support 2 allows the installer to adapt to this shape and / or this orientation.

[0061] As soon as the angular position of the support 2 is adjusted, the rods 5 are biased so as to drive the jaws 4 into a locking position ([Fig.9]). The jaws 4 move axially and radially so that said jaws are in tight contact with the inner wall 30 of the conduit 3. The support 2 is then perfectly held in position in the conduit 3. The object 1 can then be fixed on the support 2 thus installed.

[0062] According to one embodiment, the jaws 4 may be provided with elastomer pads or similar elements making it possible to guarantee the physical integrity of the internal wall 30 of the conduit 3, in particular when the latter is threaded.

[0063] According to a preferred embodiment, a seal is formed between the jaws 4 and the internal wall 30 of the conduit 3. In the attached figures, this seal is ensured by one or more O-rings 7 mounted on the jaws 4. In Figures 5 and 6, grooves 47 are provided for this purpose on the jaws 4. During radial movement of the jaws 4, the seals 7 deform without difficulty.

[0064] In the case where the object 1 is provided with an electrical connection cable 15, the latter passes through the support 2 and the internal conduit 2100 of the sleeve 21, to emerge outside the pool so as to be connected in complete safety to a connection box connected to the current source, which box is placed at a distance from the pool. Such a connection is notably described in the aforementioned patent FR 2,935,459 to which those skilled in the art may refer.

[0065] The arrangement of the various elements and / or means and / or steps of the invention, in the embodiments described above, should not be understood as requiring such an arrangement in all implementations. In any event, it will be understood that various modifications may be made to these elements and / or means and / or steps, without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. In particular: - The support 2 may consist of several parts assembled together. In particular, the sleeve 21 may be attached to the flange 20 and secured to the latter, for example by welding, gluing, or screwing. - The drive member of the jaw 4 may be in the form of a nut installed in the bore 205 or in the internal conduit 2100 of the sleeve 21, which nut is engaged with a screw mounted in said jaw. It is then the head of the screw which is mounted in the groove 460 so as to block the rotation of said screw, while allowing sliding (or radial translation) of said head in said groove. It is then the rotation of the nut which ensures the axial displacement of the screw, which displacement causes the axial and radial displacement of the jaw 4. - Projector 1 can be circular, square, hexagonal, etc. - The support 2 and / or the jaw(s) 4 may be made of a material other than plastic, for example stainless steel, or a composite material. - Duct 3 is not necessarily a wall crossing, but may consist of a broom socket, a discharge nozzle, an adapter sleeve, etc.

[0066] Furthermore, one or more features disclosed only in one embodiment may be combined with one or more other features disclosed only in another embodiment. Similarly, one or more features disclosed only in one embodiment may be generalized to other embodiments, even if that or those features are described only in combination with other features.
