[0006] said electronic detection unit is characterized in that said electronic circuit comprises at least: - a first electronic card comprising the first processing module and the trigger module, - a second electronic card comprising the second processing module and being electrically connected to the first electronic card, in that at least the second electronic card is perpendicular to the first electronic card in a normal direction, and
[0007] in that the second electronic card extends in the normal direction over a first width less than a modular width equal to a single module, i.e. substantially 17.7 millimeters, so that the thickness of said electronic unit in a normal direction is less than the modular width equal to a single module.
[0008] The invention also relates to a second electronic card for said electronic detection unit according to the invention, characterized in that the second electronic card comprises the second processing module and is configured to be electrically connected to the first electronic card, in that at least the second electronic card is configured to be perpendicular to the first electronic card in a normal direction, and in that the second electronic card extends in the normal direction over a first width less than a modular width equal to a single module, i.e. substantially 17.7 millimeters.

[0019] [Fig.9] [Fig.9] represents a perspective view of the electrical protection apparatus according to the invention showing the housing in modular format.
[0020] The invention relates to an electronic unit for detecting at least one electrical fault for an electrical protection device 1 in modular format, said electronic unit comprises at least:
[0021] - a differential fault measurement torus 2 configured to be crossed by a first power line 3 and a second power line 4,
[0022] - a torus for measuring an electric arc fault 5 configured to be crossed by preferably only by the first power line 3,
[0023] - an electronic circuit 6 electrically connected on the one hand to the measuring core of a differential fault 2 and on the other hand to the measurement torus of an electric arc fault 5,
[0024] said electronic circuit 6 further comprising a first module for processing a first signal measured by the measurement torus of a differential fault electrically connected to the measurement torus of a differential fault 2, a second module for processing a second signal measured by the measurement torus of an electric arc fault electrically connected to the measurement torus of an electric arc fault 5, a trigger module configured to be electrically connected to an electromagnetic actuator 7, and a power supply module.
[0025] According to the invention, said electronic detection unit is characterized in that said electronic circuit 6 comprises at least:
[0026] - a first electronic card 8 comprising the first processing module and the trigger module, and
[0027] - a second electronic card 9 comprising the second processing module and being electrically connected to the first electronic card 8,
[0028] in that at least the second electronic card 9 is perpendicular to the first electronic card 8 in a normal direction DN, and
[0029] in that the second electronic card 9 extends in the normal direction DN over a first width 11 less than a modular width equal to a single module, i.e. substantially 17.7 millimeters, so that the thickness of said electronic unit Lu in a normal direction DN is less than the modular width equal to a single module.
[0030] Advantageously, this arrangement makes it possible to obtain an electronic detection unit which is of compact design, the thickness of the electronic unit Lu of which does not exceed 17.7 millimeters and is preferably less than or equal to 17 millimeters, and which is divided into at least two electronic subassemblies comprising at least two electronic cards, namely the first electronic card 8 and the second electronic card 9. In the example illustrated, this thickness of the electronic unit Lu is at least approximately the sum of the thickness el of the first electronic card 8 and the first width 11 of the second electronic card 9. This configuration advantageously makes it possible to avoid having a single main electronic card whose size must be increased, either in its length or in its width to integrate both the second processing module and the power supply module. This solution also makes it possible not to be limited to the two sides of a single main electronic card to distribute the various electronic components. Consequently, the electronic detection unit according to the invention can easily be installed in an electrical protection device 1 comprising a housing 20 in modular format and. whose width 1b of the housing 20 is equal to one module, i.e. approximately 17.7 millimeters, and whose length Lb of the housing 20 preferably does not exceed 135 millimeters. In this case, the power supply module may for example be part of the first electronic card 8 or be moved to another electronic card hereinafter referred to as the third electronic card 10.
[0031] Preferably, said electronic detection unit further comprises a third electronic card 10 comprising the power supply module and being electrically connected to the first electronic card 8.
[0032] Advantageously, this arrangement makes it possible to obtain an electronic detection unit which is of compact design, the thickness of the electronic unit Lu of which does not exceed 17.7 millimeters and is preferably less than or equal to 17 millimeters, and which is divided into three electronic subassemblies comprising three electronic cards, namely the first electronic card 8 and the second electronic card 9 and the third electronic card 10. In the example illustrated, this width of the electronic unit Lu is approximately the sum of the thickness el of the first electronic card 8 and the first width 11 of the second electronic card 9. This configuration advantageously makes it possible to avoid having a single main electronic card whose size must be increased, either in its length or in its width to integrate both the second processing module and the power supply module.
[0033] Preferably, the third electronic card 10 is perpendicular to the first electronic card 8 in the normal direction DN and the third electronic card 10 extends in the normal direction DN over a second width 12 less than the modular width equal to a single module, i.e. substantially 17.7 millimeters.
[0034] Advantageously, this configuration further improves the compactness because the second electronic card 9 and the third electronic card 10 are both perpendicular to the first electronic card 8 in the same normal direction DN or in other words on the same side of the first electronic card 8. In addition, the first width 11 of the second electronic card 9 and the second width 12 of the third electronic card 10 are both less than one module, i.e. approximately 17.7 millimeters, and are for example equal to approximately 12 millimeters, which makes it possible to obtain an electronic unit of compact design and the thickness of the electronic unit Lu of which does not exceed 17.7 millimeters and is preferably less than or equal to 17 millimeters. The thickness of the electronic unit Lu is at least approximately the maximum value chosen from the following list containing the sum of at least the thickness el of the first electronic card 8 and the first width 11 of the second electronic card 9, the sum of at least the thickness el of the first electronic card 8 and the second width 12 of the third electronic card 10.
[0035] Preferably, the second electronic card 9 and the third electronic card 10 are mounted perpendicularly by their respective edges on the first electronic card 8 and the second electronic card 9 and the third electronic card 10 are distant from each other by a determined inter-card distance di and perpendicular to each other.
[0036] The distance di is preferably equal to 14 millimeters. The distance di is preferably at least equal to 4 millimeters.
[0037] Preferably, the first electronic card 8 comprises a first mounting face 11 on which at least one first connector 12 is mounted and the second electronic card 9 comprises a second connector 13 complementary to the first connector 12, the first connector 12 and the second connector 13 being configured to electrically and mechanically connect the second electronic card 9 to the first electronic card 8 perpendicularly in the normal direction DN.
[0038] In this configuration, the connection between the first connector 12 and the second connector 13 makes it possible both to electrically connect the second electronic card 9 to the first electronic card 8, but also to mechanically connect the second electronic card 9 to the first electronic card 8 so that the second electronic card 9 is mounted perpendicular to the first mounting face 11 of the first electronic card 8 in the normal direction DN.
[0039] Preferably, the first mounting face 11 further comprises a third connector 14 and the third electronic card 10 comprises a fourth connector 15 complementary to the third connector 14, the third connector 14 and the fourth connector 15 being configured to electrically and mechanically connect the third electronic card 10 to the first electronic card 8 perpendicularly in the normal direction DN.
[0040] In this configuration, the connection between the third connector 14 and the fourth connector 15 makes it possible both to electrically connect the third electronic card 10 to the first electronic card 8, but also to mechanically connect the third electronic card 10 to the first electronic card 8 so that the third electronic card 10 is mounted perpendicular to the first mounting face 11 of the first electronic card 8 in the normal direction DN.
[0041] Preferably, the first connector 12 is a female connector and the second connector 13 is a male edge connector.
[0042] Advantageously, in this configuration the male edge connector can be inserted into the female connector to electrically and mechanically connect the second electronic card 9 to the first electronic card 8. Similarly, the male edge connector can be removed from the female connector to electrically and mechanically disconnect the second electronic card 9 from the first card electronics 8. This results in a simplification of the electrical and mechanical connection / disconnection of the second electronic card 9 to the first electronic card 8, in particular during the assembly of the electronic unit. In addition, this second electronic card 9 has the advantage of being thus made removable from the first electronic card 8 and interchangeable, in particular if some of the electronic components must be substituted, for example in the event of shortages or changes in standards.
[0043] Preferably, the third connector 14 is a female connector and the fourth connector 15 is a male edge connector.
[0044] Advantageously, in this configuration the male edge connector can be inserted into the female connector to electrically and mechanically connect the third electronic card 10 to the first electronic card 8. Similarly, the male edge connector can be removed from the female connector to electrically and mechanically disconnect the third electronic card 10 from the first electronic card 8. This results in a simplification of the electrical and mechanical connection / disconnection of the third electronic card 10 to the first electronic card 8, in particular during assembly of the electronic unit. In addition, this third electronic card 10 has the advantage of being thus made removable from the first electronic card 8 and interchangeable, in particular if some of the electronic components must be substituted, for example in the event of shortages or changes in standards.
[0045] Preferably, the second electronic card 9 comprises a first face 16 carrying a plurality of electronic components forming the second processing module and a second face 17 opposite the first face 16 and the toroid for measuring an electric arc fault 5 is mounted on the second face 17.
[0046] Advantageously, this arrangement allows the plurality of electronic components forming the second processing module to be protected from the electromagnetic radiation of the measuring core of an electric arc fault 5 crossed by the first current line 3 and the second current line 4.
[0047] Furthermore, in this configuration and in particular if the second connector 13 is for example a male edge connector, the second electronic card 9 forms an independent module which can be used in other types of electrical protection equipment with protection against an electric arc fault. Thus, since the second electronic card 9 already has the advantage of being made removable from the first electronic card 8 and interchangeable, this independent module can be easily updated if some of the electronic components need to be substituted for example in the event of shortages or changes in standards.
[0048] Preferably, the second face 17 is located opposite the measuring core of a differential fault 2.
[0049] Advantageously, this arrangement thus allows the plurality of electronic components forming the second processing module to be protected from the electromagnetic radiation of the measuring torus of a differential fault 2 crossed by the first electrical line 3 and the second electrical line 4 and of the measuring torus of an electric arc fault 5 crossed by the first electrical line 3.
[0050] Preferably, the third electronic card 10 comprises a third face 18 carrying a plurality of electronic components forming the power supply module and a fourth face 19 opposite the third face 18.
[0051] Preferably, the fourth face 19 is located opposite the measuring core of a differential fault 2.
[0052] Advantageously, this arrangement thus allows the plurality of electronic components forming the power supply module to be protected from the electromagnetic radiation of the toroid for measuring an electric arc fault 5 crossed by the first electrical line 3 and the second current line 4 and of the toroid for measuring a differential fault 2 crossed by the first electrical line 3.
[0053] Preferably, the torus for measuring a differential fault 2 comprises a first longitudinal axis A1 and the torus for measuring an electric arc fault 5 comprises a second longitudinal axis A2 and the first longitudinal axis A1 and the second longitudinal axis A2 are not parallel to each other, and are preferably perpendicular to each other.
[0054] The invention also relates to the second electronic card 9 for said electronic detection unit according to the invention, characterized in that the second electronic card 9 comprises the second processing module and being configured to be electrically connected to the first electronic card 8, in that at least the second electronic card 9 is configured to be perpendicular to the first electronic card 8 in a normal direction DN, and in that the second electronic card 9 extends in the normal direction DN over a first width 11 less than a modular width equal to a single module, i.e. substantially 17.7 millimeters.
[0055] Preferably, the second electronic card 9 comprises the first face 16 carrying the plurality of electronic components forming the second processing module and the second face 17 opposite the first face 16 and the toroid for measuring an electric arc fault 5 is mounted on the second face 17.
[0056] Furthermore, preferably the second electronic card 9 comprises the second connector 13.
[0057] Advantageously, the second electronic card 9 forms an independent module which can be used in other types of electrical protection equipment with protection against an electric arc fault. The second electronic card 9 has the advantage of being removable from the first electronic card 8 and interchangeable and this independent module can be easily updated if some of the electronic components need to be replaced for example in the event of shortages or changes in standards.
[0058] The invention also relates to an electrical protection device 1 in modular format comprising at least:
[0059] - a 20-case modular format,
[0060] - the first electrical line 3, preferably phase comprising a pair of contacts respectively a fixed contact 21 and a movable contact 22,
[0061] - the second electrical line 4, preferably neutral,
[0062] - an electric arc extinguishing chamber 23,
[0063] - a control member 24 for the position of the movable contact 22, connected to the contact mobile 22 by means of a mechanical lock 25 capable of switching between two stable positions corresponding respectively to the opening and closing of the fixed and mobile contacts 21, 22 following an action on the control member 24, or of switching into an opening position of the fixed and mobile contacts 21, 22 following a mechanical action of at least one trigger reflecting an electrical fault on said at least first electrical line 3,
[0064] - triggering means comprising at least one magnetic actuator 27 and / or thermal 28 and / or an electronic and / or electromechanical actuator 7 provided to actuate said at least one trigger for the purpose of triggering the mechanical lock 25, and
[0065] - an electronic detection unit.
[0066] According to the invention, said electrical protection apparatus 1 is characterized in that said electronic detection unit is according to the invention described.
[0067] Advantageously, the electronic detection unit can be integrated into the electrical protection apparatus 1 with limited space requirements as explained previously.
[0068] Preferably, the housing 20 in modular format has a generally parallelepiped shape with two main faces, respectively a left main face 40 and a right main face 41, and lateral faces extending from one to the other of the main faces, namely a rear face 42, a front face 43, a lower face 44 and an upper face 45, the width 1b of the housing 20 corresponding to the distance between the left main face 40 and the right main face 41 and is equal to a single module, i.e. substantially 17.7 millimeters, and the housing 20 contains said electronic detection unit.
[0069] Advantageously, the electrical protection apparatus 1 has a modular format, preferably with the width 1b of the housing 20 being equal to one module, i.e. approximately 17.7 millimeters, which limits the size, particularly in an electrical panel in which it is intended to be installed.
[0070] The electronic detection unit according to the invention which is illustrated in figures 1 to 8 makes it possible on the one hand to detect an electrical fault of the differential fault type without depending on the network voltage, that is to say the presence of a residual current on an electrical line of an installation and to subsequently control the triggering of the electrical protection apparatus 1 using in particular the electromagnetic actuator 7 and on the other hand to detect an electrical fault of the electric arc fault type depending on the network voltage, that is to say the presence of an electric arc on an electrical line of the installation and to subsequently control the triggering of the electrical protection apparatus 1 using in particular the electromagnetic actuator 7.
[0071] The figures illustrate that the differential fault measurement toroid 2 and the electric arc fault measurement toroid 5 each comprise a toroidal coil wrapped in a toroidal housing comprising a cylindrical passage.
[0072] Preferably, the torus for measuring a differential fault 2 and the torus for measuring an electric arc fault 5 have a diameter which is between 10 and 16.5 millimeters and which is therefore less than the modular width equal to a single module, i.e. substantially 17.7 millimeters, and the internal width of the housing 20 which is substantially 17 millimeters.
[0073] The differential fault measuring torus 2 has a diameter preferably equal to 16.2 millimeters and has a diameter which is less than the entire internal width of the housing 20 which is substantially 17 millimeters. The depth between the faces of the differential fault measuring torus 2 is for example 6 millimeters.
[0074] The torus for measuring an electric arc fault 5 may, for example, have a shape which is generally cubic with sides measuring 12 millimeters.
[0075] The cylindrical passage of the differential fault measuring torus 2 is configured to allow the passage of the first electrical line 3 and the second electrical line 4, as illustrated in FIGS. 6 to 8.
[0076] The cylindrical passage of the torus for measuring an electric arc fault 5 is configured to allow the passage of only the first electrical line 3, the second electrical line 4 does not pass through the cylindrical passage, as illustrated in FIGS. 6 to 8.
[0077] The first longitudinal axis A1 corresponds to the axial direction of the cylindrical passage of the differential fault measuring torus 2 and the second longitudinal axis A2 corresponds to the axial direction of the cylindrical passage of the electric arc fault measuring torus 5.
[0078] The measuring core of a differential fault 2 makes it possible to measure an imbalance of electric current flowing in the first power line 3 and the second power line 4.
[0079] The differential fault measuring core 2 is preferably mounted on the first electronic card 8, but this example is not limiting.
[0080] The torus for measuring an electric arc fault 5 makes it possible to measure a signal characteristic of the presence of an electric arc in the electric current flowing in the first electric line 3.
[0081] The toroid for measuring an electric arc fault 5 is preferably mounted on the second electronic card 9, but this example is not limiting.
[0082] The electronic circuit 6 makes it possible to process at least on the one hand a first signal measured by the differential fault measurement core 2 using the first processing module and on the other hand a second signal measured by the electric arc fault measurement core 5 using the second processing module.
[0083] The first processing module does not need to be powered by the network voltage via the power supply module.
[0084] The second processing module is connected and powered by the power supply module.
[0085] The trigger module is connected on the one hand to the first processing module and on the other hand to the second processing module.
[0086] The trigger module is thus configured to control the electromagnetic actuator 7 from the signals processed by the first processing module and by the second processing module.
[0087] The electromagnetic actuator 7 is preferably integral with the first electronic card 8. The electromagnetic actuator 7 may for example be mounted on the first mounting face 11 or the second mounting face 37, of the first electronic card 8 preferably at the edge. According to an example not shown, the electromagnetic actuator 7 may also be located off-set from the first electronic card 8.
[0088] The electronic unit may further comprise an antenna 39. Preferably, the antenna is mounted on the first electronic card 8.
[0089] Figures 1 to 3B and 6 to 8 illustrate the first electronic card 8 according to an example. The first electronic card 8 is preferably a printed circuit with the assembled electronic components of the PCBA type.
[0090] The normal direction DN corresponds to a vector normal to the surface of the first mounting face 11 of the first electronic card 8.
[0091] The first electronic card 8 preferably comprises the first mounting face 11 on which are mounted the first connector 12 and the third connector 14 which are preferably of the female connector type. On this first mounting face 11 are also mounted a varistor 29 and the electro actuator magnetic 7. The first mounting face 11 also corresponds to the face of the first electronic card 8 on the side of which the first electrical line 3 and the second electrical line 4 are intended to run as particularly illustrated in figures 6 to 8.
[0092] Preferably, the first connector 12, the third connector 14, the varistor 29 and the electromagnetic actuator 7 each have a height which is between 5 and 12 millimeters and which is therefore less than the modular width equal to a single module, i.e. substantially 17.7 millimeters.
[0093] Preferably, the first connector 12 and the third connector 14 each have a height which is between 4 and 6 millimeters and which is preferably 5 millimeters.
[0094] Preferably the electromagnetic actuator 7 has a height which is between 10 and 12 millimeters and which is preferably 12 millimeters. Preferably, the electromagnetic actuator 7 has a height which corresponds substantially to the height available between the first mounting face 11 and the inner surface of the right main face 41 of the housing 20.
[0095] Preferably, the first connector 12 and the third connector 14 each comprise a slot 30 which is provided with a plurality of contacts 31 and which extends in height in the normal direction DN.
[0096] Preferably, the first connector 12 and the third connector 14 are perpendicular to each other.
[0097] The first electronic card 8 preferably comprises a second mounting face 37 illustrated in [Fig. 3B] which is opposite the first mounting face 11 and which comprises the electronic components which form the first processing module and the trigger module. The electronic components which form the first processing module and the trigger module preferably comprise in particular a microprocessor 38. The second mounting face 37 may also comprise the antenna 39 as illustrated in [Fig. 3B].
[0098] This arrangement thus allows the electronic components which form the first processing module and the trigger module to be protected from the electromagnetic radiation resulting from the passage of the first electrical line 3 and the second electrical line 4.
[0099] The first electronic card 8 preferably has a thickness el which is between 1 millimeter and 1.6 millimeters and is for example 1.2 millimeters.
[0100] The first electronic card 8 preferably has a width 1 which is between 54 millimeters and 55 millimeters and is for example 54.4 millimeters.
[0101] The first electronic card 8 preferably has a length L which is between 57.8 millimeters and 58.8 millimeters.
[0102] The first electronic card 8 preferably has a mounting orifice 32 crossed by the differential fault measurement torus 2. Thus, the differential fault measurement torus 2 projects from the first mounting face 11 over a first height h1, for example equal to 12 millimeters, and from the second mounting face over a second height h2, for example equal to 3 millimeters. This mounting orifice 32 preferably has a rectangular shape. This mounting orifice 32 is arranged opposite the first connector 12 so that the differential fault measurement torus 2 is arranged opposite the first connector 12.
[0103] Furthermore, preferably the first longitudinal axis A1 is parallel to the first and second mounting faces 11, 37. The cylindrical passage of the differential fault measuring torus 2 is preferably located on the side of the first mounting face 11. In this way, the first electrical line 3 and the second electrical line 4 can be easily passed through the cylindrical passage of the differential fault measuring torus 2 on the side of the first mounting face 11. This avoids electromagnetic radiation on the side of the second mounting face 37.
[0104] The second electronic card 9 is illustrated in figures 1, 2, 4 and 6 to 8 and is preferably a printed circuit with the assembled electronic components of the PCBA type.
[0105] The second electronic card 9 preferably has the first width 11 which is between 11.6 millimeters and 12 millimeters.
[0106] The second electronic card 9 preferably has a length L1 which is between 26.6 millimeters and 27 millimeters.
[0107] The second electronic card 9 preferably comprises the first face 16 which carries the plurality of electronic components forming the second processing module.
[0108] The first face 16 thus also corresponds to the face of the second electronic card 9 on the side of which the part of the first electrical line 3 downstream of the torus for measuring an electric arc fault 5 is intended to run, as illustrated in Figures 6 to 8.
[0109] In order to electrically isolate the first face 16 from the passage of this part of the first electrical line 3, it is possible to interpose a first insulating wall 33 visible in [Fig.8] and which is arranged substantially parallel to and in front of the first face 16 between the latter and the part of the first electrical line 3 downstream of the torus for measuring an electric arc fault 5. This arrangement makes it possible to guarantee a certain distance between the second electronic card 9 and the first electrical line 3, the insulation distance range is normative, but generally greater than 4 millimeters.
[0110] The first insulating wall 33 can be extended to also insulate the area devoid of electronic components of the second face 17 described below.
[0111] The second electronic card 9 preferably comprises the second face 17 on which is mounted projecting the torus for measuring an electric arc fault 5. In the example illustrated, the torus for measuring an electric arc fault 5 projects only from the second face 17 over a third height h3 preferably equal to 12 millimeters and which is therefore less than the modular width equal to a single module, i.e. substantially 17.7 millimeters. The torus for measuring an electric arc fault 5 is preferably welded to the second face 17. Preferably, the second face 17 is devoid of other electronic components and comprises an area devoid of electronic components arranged opposite the torus for measuring a differential fault 2.
[0112] Furthermore, preferably the second longitudinal axis A2 of the torus for measuring an electric arc fault 5 is parallel to the first and second faces 16, 17.
